Miranda and Ben were inside the furniture store as they were picking out a bed for Tuck.
"Do you think he might want bunk beds." Ben asked.
Miranda raised an eyebrow at him.
"When he gets to the point of going to school. He is going to want to have sleep overs " Ben said and Miranda nodded understanding.
"Ooh what about this one with the club house underneath and a pull out bed." Ben said excitedly.
"Ooh he would really like that. "Miranda said smiling
Ben talked to the sales guy as they ordered the bed. Picking a time for it to be delivered.
"Where are we going after this?" Miranda asked.
"To the grocery store to get you snacks and things to take to work."
"Okay, thank you babe" Miranda said rubbing her stomach out of habit.
"Sooo Miranda when are you going to get your clothes. I cleared out the left side of the dressers and your side in the closet." Ben asked.
"Well after what happen the other night. I don't even know." Miranda said combing her hands through her hair.
"I can go with you to help you pack. We can go get suitcases , boxes or what ever you need." Ben said seriously.
"We know what happened the last time you came Ben. This is something I have to do on my own. I need to have closure with him." Miranda said looking at Ben compassionately.
"Okay." Ben said looking over at her before starting the car. They went Inside of the store and bought grocery and other items for the house.
When they got back home Ben made Miranda her pregnancy snacks for the week and put them in the fridge.
Ben listened to Miranda as she talk to Tucker on the phone, explaining to him that she was coming to get all of her things.
After she hung up she blew out a breath.
"I'm going to get them this afternoon. He is going to be at work." Miranda said.
"Miranda are you sure you don't want me to come. You are pregnant and shouldn't be lifting anything heavy." Ben said
"I know okay how about this… I will go and pack everything up in boxes and I will call you when I'm done and you can carry them to the truck." Miranda compromised.
"Okay fine I will take that." Ben said.
Ben watched Miranda walk around in her sweat pants and she honestly never looked anymore beautiful.
Three years went by and Miranda walked into the house with her grocery bags.
"Mommy !" She heard her daughter call out and her little feet patter against the floor.
"Hey my Aubrey." Miranda said setting the groceries down on the kitchen counter.
Miranda scooped her up and pulled her into her arms. Kissing her on the head. "Ohhh mommy's big girl." Miranda said to her two year old.
Ben came around the corner smiling looking at the two.
"She acted like she was dying to see you." Ben chuckled as Miranda sat her down on the floor.
"she doesn't want to do cross words all day. Maybe she thinks your boring." Miranda said laughing.
"They are not boring. " Ben crossed his arms. Watching as their little girl held Miranda's leg.
"Is this how you greet your fiancé Ben warren.?" Miranda asked changing the subject.
"No you are right, I'm sorry." Ben said walking over to kiss her. He softly sucked on the bottom of her lip and Miranda tried to pull him closer. Almost forgetting about her protruding baby bump. Seems like her bun in the oven was getting bigger by the minute.
"She is a daddy's girl at heart. She just missed me, plus you know that toddlers can sense a change in me, she probably is a bit nervous about the baby arriving." Miranda said and Ben understood. "But this boy will act just like you. I can feel it in my bones." Miranda laughed.
"Oh really." Ben asked pulling Miranda close again and kissing her. Letting his tongue slip into her mouth, causing Miranda to moan.
"Hey ma. Ewww must you guys do this every day" Tuck said coming down the stairs.
"Sorry." Miranda blushed She hugged him and he began to help Ben put the groceries away.
"Your 8, almost 9, you won't understand until like 10 years from now, when you find the one you are meant to be with. Your soul mate. "
"Uh you mean 20 years." Miranda said raising her eyebrow.
"come on baby. You wanna watch tv with mommy." Miranda said bending down to pick her up.
Miranda sat down on the couch and laid back. Aubrey laid down on top of her, laying on her stomach. They watched TV and Miranda laughed as the baby kicked and Aubrey sat her head up fast staring at her belly in confusion. "Aww honey, it was just the baby. He is kicking." Miranda said taking her hand to place it on her stomach.
"You feel him?" Miranda asked her two year old and she watched as her eyes widen and nodded her head.
"That's your brother." Miranda explained.
Miranda and her family ate dinner, after dinner Miranda bathe Aubrey and put her to bed, it was a long time coming for her child to sleep in her own bed. It hurt Ben to the core when Miranda told him it was time for her to sleep in her own bed and not on Ben's chest every night. Miranda couldn't even snuggle close and lay her head and hand on her man's chest because daddies little girl had beat her to it.
When Miranda came into the room Ben was walking out of their shower. With a towel wrapped around his waist. "Mmm" Miranda said licking her lips.
"I'm going to take my shower." Miranda announced as she walked to the bathroom.
She took a long shower, singing softly. She looked down and she couldn't even see her feet anymore because of her belly, sighing she turned the water off.
She lotion down before putting her night gown on.
She came out of the bathroom to see Ben laying down with his eyes closed. He slowly opened them as she emerged into the room.
"Mirandaaa." Ben said In a warning tone.
"What." Miranda asked stopping in her tracks, genuinely confused.
"Where is your bra." Ben asked looking at her nipples that were evident through her night gown. She chuckled lightly before climbing on the bed.
"My breast hurt. I struggle with wearing one all day and when I came home. I took it off. It's the milk that's filling them." Miranda said acknowledging the answer.
She grabbed her stretch mark cream off of her night stand and raised her night gown. "I'll do it." Ben said and Miranda gave him a yeah right look.
"I'm serious Miranda no funny business." Ben laughed. Miranda moved to get in-between Ben's legs. She pressed her back against his chest and felt his arms envelope her. Miranda pulled her night gown up once more stopping below her breast and held the cream so he could take some. She watched as his hands rubbed her belly. He did this continuously until all the cream was rubbed in. Miranda felt the baby kick and she knew a full blown smile was on Ben's face.
"Yeah that is definitely all you in there." Miranda smiled.
"I love you Miranda. You are an awesome mother, You are really my dream come true. The way that we met was fate but you are my soulmate." Ben said close by her ear.
"I love you so much Benjamin Warren you have been my hero literally since the day we met." Miranda laughed as a shudder ran through her body thinking about falling off the ship.
"in my book you are my prince, in my movies you are my hero, in my body you are my heart, and in my life you are my everything." Miranda finished. She was on the verge of tears basking in the love she'd slipped and found.
Miranda shifted slightly so she could turn her head to kiss him. Ben met her lips for a feverish kiss that caused her heart to race.
"I love you Dr. Ben Warren." Miranda said against his lips.
"I love you too Doctor Miranda Bailey." Ben said softly.
"Heyy. Ben"
"Miranda" she heard Tucker call.
"He said thank you. You can let go of his paper now." Tucker said and she could hear the annoyance in his voice.
"Huh what." Miranda said continuing to look into this strangers captivating eyes. She couldn't have been crazy. He had to see it too, right? He held her eyes with such intense, she knew he felt and saw it. Ad least she hoped he did.
"Thank you Ms. for picking my paper up." Ben spoke swallowing slowly.
Miranda blushed before saying "oh no problem you are welcome. Uh, enjoy your cruise."
" You as well." He said back
"Babe what was that about." She heard the women with him say concerned.
"Uhh." She listened as he fiddled with his words before shaking his head.
She wouldn't know how to explain it even if she tried.
Miranda walked with Tucker who occasionally gave her side glances.
Miranda's attention was focused on the tall handsome man in front of her and that's when he did it, before he turn the corner. He stopped and looked back at her. She connected eyes with his and she bit her lips out of nervousness. She almost wanted this trip to be over so she could call Callie and explain what happened between her and this stranger.
The only thing she knew was that this was the beginning of love overboard.
