Magnus Chase and Alex Fierro Meet Nico di Angelo and Will Solace

I thought it was a normal day. I mean, what could happen when I was on a date with my amazing boyfriend Nico?

Ans: A lot.

We had gone to McDonald's- because I knew Nico liked it, plus it had been ages since I had a real burger. Seriously, Camp Half Blood really should supply some junk. Not a lot, since that's not good for our health, but once a month or so would be nice. At least the Hermes kids sneaked in chocolate, cause I don't think any of us would survive without it. Chocolate is essential, kids. Just don't overeat it. In fact, overeating anything- never mind. I can tell you guys later.

Anyways, it was our first date. And it was going great. I mean, awkward, yes, but still.

"Um…" Nico popped a French fry in his mouth. "So, um,"

I bit into my burger. "Uh…"

"What do you even do on dates?" Nico asked awkwardly.

"Talk?" I suggested.

"Okay, so, um, talk," Nico repeated. "Talk what?"

Fine. It wasn't going so great. But at least he wasn't, like, storming off at my inability to properly communicate with the guy I'd liked since the second Titan War.

At least Nico was just as bad.

"Talk, um, talk what?"

Fine. It was going bad.

"There was a dead guy I talked to a few days ago?" Nico started. "He was a healer back in the days. Told me how to reduce rashes?"

"Yeah?" I asked, even though dead guys was the last topic I wanted to talk about.

"Told me we had to rub grinded chilis into the spot, after creating little cuts so it could get into the blood-"

I choked on my burger. I tried to swallow it, and I failed. I tried to take a sip of Nico's coke (I didn't order one for me. Coke isn't good for your health.) which was stupid of me, since being a healer I should have known that it wouldn't help.

"Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods, what do I do?!" Nico said frantically, patting my back. More like hitting it.

I took a bigger gulp of coke and my burger went down. I gasped.

"You don't rub chili in your wounds!" I choked out. "That's a big fat no!"

"Will!" Nico scolded. "Gods, you worried me!"

"Sorry, but no!" I said again. "I feel sorry for the dead guy's patients. That must have hurt."

Nico glared at me.

Yay. My first date ever with the guy I liked since forever just went down the drain.

I mean, seriously? What is wrong with me? I just had to say that. Don't rub chili into your blood. And then the whole choking thing. Is it so hard to eat properly? That was probably the biggest turn off of the century-

Okay. Calm. Nico looked devastated, probably because of the mess we'd made of our first date, so step one: assure him that the disaster was me, not him.

"Um… why don't we finish our burgers?" I suggested. He relaxed.

"Good idea," he said and bit into his burger, looking happy for the silence.

"So, uh…"

Nico suddenly stood up and darted outside.

Well, great. My date just walked out. Our first date just flew straight to Tartarus. Absolutely fantastic.

A thud came from the window next to me. I jumped, only to see Nico standing there, looking annoyed, gesturing at me to come outside.

I jumped up, paid, and ran outside.

"What happened?" I asked him.

"Those two people there-" he pointed to a couple, a green-haired guy, and a blond guy. The blond was lecturing the green haired one. "-are dead."

I rolled my eyes. "Nico, no. they're not dead. They look very much alive to me."

"No!" he looked at me in frustration. "I can't explain it, they're just- dead."

He started jogging towards them, leaving me to trail after him.

"You both are dead." Nico told the couple, tapping the blond on his shoulder.

They turned around to look at Nico, then at each other. I groaned.

"Death boy," I said. "You can't tell people they're dead. It isn't polite."

Maybe not the best time to call him death boy, but I only thought of that later.

"Uh, who are you?" the blonde asked politely.

"Nico di Angelo, son of Hades. Hi."

"Nico, you shouldn't say lies, you know," I said nervously. What was my boyfriend doing?

The two people looked at each other again, communicating silently with their eyes. I elbowed Nico.

"What are you doing?" I whispered-shouted at him. He just held up a hand like, wait for it.

The two teenagers pulled us aside. The green haired one glared at us, twisted his bracelet.

"Who are you?" he hissed. "Are you both monsters? You don't look like monsters."

The blond turned over and glared at his companion. "Ignore him. just- who are you?"

Nico pulled out his sword and jabbed the blonde in the stomach with the flat side gently, and that was the moment I realised I would seriously have to give him a lesson on how to communicate with living people. Number one: Do not stab them.

The blonde yelped and jumped back. Nico frowned in confusion.

"You felt that?" he asked, looking in suspicion at both if them.

"It's a sword, of course I felt it!" the blonde hissed back.

The green haired guy moved faster than I could have seen. t

The next second, I was pinned to the wall with a wire at my throat.

"Tell us who you are," he said. "or else he dies."

"Alex, don't," the blond protested weakly. Nico held out his sword.

"Let my boyfriend go," his voice was deadly calm, and if I had been in any other situation, I would have felt warm and fuzzy that he called me his boyfriend.

"Neeks, let's not be violent about this," I chided softly. The wire pressed deeper into my throat.

The blonde guy murmured something in Alex's ear, and he reluctantly stopped trying to kill me. I took in a deep breath and held Nico back, because he looked this close to murdering Alex.

"Okay, we'll go first," I started. "I'm Will Solace-"

"He's a son of Apollo. Gods exist."

Realisation dawned on the blonde's face. "Are you Greek demigods?"

Nico nodded warily. I didn't like the way the guy said 'Greek', as if there were more types.

"I'm Magnus Chase," he said, "son of the Norse god Frey. Nice to meet you." he smiled awkwardly. "And this is my boyfriend, Alex Fierro. He's a son of Loki. Well, right now. Sometimes he's a daughter of Loki-" he was shut up by Alex sharply elbowing him.

Nico stared at him. "Are you Annabeth's cousin?"

Magnus nodded in confirmation, and I started to see the similarities. The blonde hair, the gray eyes.

Nico smirked a little. "She's a friend of mine. Told me a lot about you. You are dead!"

He glanced triumphantly at me. I frowned.

"Neeks, we talked about this. Not everyone you see is dead."

"They're physically dead." he waved hi hand upwards, and Magnus slapped himself in the face.

I blinked. "So you both are really...?"

"Yep, we are, blondie," Alex said, bracelet-ifying her wire back. "Don't look so surprised."

"Can I...?" I put a hand on Magnus's shoulder, marveling at the fact that he really was dead. His heart wasn't pumping. His organs weren't working, he wasn't breathing- but he was alive.

"Wow." I breathed out.

"D'you wanna come to Mcdonald's with us?" Nico asked hopefully. "Like a double date. I really want to finish my burger."

Alex grinned. "Why not?"

After that, our date went just perfect.

Done!
