Chapter 9: The Forest Chase
Think coughs as they sprint after Linda ducking over trees and jumping over logs. " We have to get my necklace back it's the only thing my parents gave me before they got kidnapped !" Think shouts. Dan grits his teeth as they sprint after the necklace thief. Linda runs towards a collapsing tree branch and pushes it toward James and Dan as the branch snaps. Think screams " Watch out !"
As he pushes Dan and James away and then dodges the branch. " Thanks dude we almost got squashed !" James says. Think gets even closer to Linda until a trainer stops him in his path. " Hey this is my territory you can't cross this path because your a boy. The girl stomps in front of him. " My names Lucy and this is my territory because this is the perfect place for camping now let's battle !"
Think sends out Charmander " Alright Charmander I'm counting on you to win this for me." Charmander nods and glares at The trainer. " Nice Charmander but... Nidoran(Male) Use scratch !" " Wow ! A Nidoran... Charmander intercept with scratch !" The two Pokémon collide but Charmander pushes the Nidoran(Male) back. " Nidoran(Male) Use tail whip then scratch !" The poison type Pokemon uses tail whip lowering Charmanders defense then it uses scratch.
" Charmander dodge it then use ember." Charmander obeys and jumps over Nidoran and uses ember. The Nidoran(Male) faints. " Yes ! Alright let's move on !" Think looks back at Dan and James and they are both battling two trainers one using Kakuna a bug type Pokémon the evolved form of Weedle and the other using Hoothoot a normal and flying type Pokémon. Think then runs toward a path leading to a large area in Gale forest. Meanwhile ... Dan and James are battling a trainer.
The Kakuna against Dan uses Harden. " Cyndaquil don't give in and use ember !" Ember hits the bug type Pokémon knocking it down. " You May have defeated Kakuna but ... Go Metapod ! " Metapod the bug type Pokémon the evolved form of Caterpie uses string shot but Cyndaquil dodges and counters with tackle sending Metapod flying toward the air. James is going against a Hoothoot " Ronald use tackle multiple times !" The fire pig Pokémon rams into the Hoothoot many times before tiring out. " Ronald Ember lets go !" Ember hits and Hoothoot goes down.
"Cyndaquil use ember one more time." Cyndaquil uses ember and the Metapod goes down. " No Metapod !" " No. Hoothoot !" Dan shouts to Think we're with you dude !" " Charmander use scratch then jump up and use ember !" Charmander obeys and defeats the Nidoran(Female) faints. Think and Charmander run toward a large area. Think spots the thief and yells " There you are now give me back my Necklace thief !"
Linda spots Think then groans " Man I knew I shouldn't have hid here but the bridge was closed so I couldn't hide under it and I ended up here in a dead end." Think talks " Now Hand over my Necklace over right now !" Linda smirks and laughs. " What's so funny ?!" " Haha I'm laughing because do you really think I'm going to give this back to you?! Then your a fool ! I'm a member of the greatest organization in Roria ! Team Eclipse ! and I won't be handing over your necklace so easily !"
Think grits his teeth " Your part of Team Eclipse ... I'll make you regret facing me in a battle!!!" Think shouts as Charmander prepares to battle. " Shout all you want ! You won't get this from me. If you want this so much then let's have a Pokémon battle. Whoever wins keeps it and If you lose then you have to join Team Eclipse !" Think scowls " Alright then I agree ! Lets battle !" Linda grins evilly " Your funeral... Come on out Poochyena ! " Linda shouts As she sends out a Poochyena a dark type Pokémon. " Charmander let's do this ! Use Scratch !" Charmander charged and upper cuts Poochyena with scratch then pushes it back. " Poochyena Use Howl Then Tackle !"
The dark type Pokémon howls raising its Attack Power then it charges viciously into Charmander and Pushes it back. " Charmander ! " Think shouts " Wow ! What a weakling your Charmander is weak and it doesn't even stand a chance against my Poochyena. " She brags as Poochyena barks. " I wouldn't be so sure about that ! Charmander use ember then get behind and use scratch !" Charmander pounces on Poochyena using ember then uses scratch on it. "Poochyena ! Use Tackle ! " Poochyena tries to tackle but Charmander dodges it as Poochyena runs into a tree. " Charmander use ember and end this !" Charmander spews a ball of flames at Poochyena and it explodes.
As the smoke clears Poochyena is on the ground. " Argh ! Poochyena return and come on out Pancham !" " Pan Pancham ! " It says at it smirks at Charmander who was damaged from the battle with Poochyena. "Char" Charmander says as it glares at Pancham. " Charmander use ember !" " Pancham deflect it back with arm thrust !" Linda says as she points at Charmander. Pancham uses arm thrust on ember deflecting it back at Charmander. " Charmander are you ok ?!" "Char ! " It cries weakly.
" Ha ! Your finished ! Pancham use arm thrust multiple times !" Pancham rushes forward and slams Charmander into a tree then continues to use arm thrust on it eventually throwing it on to the ground. " Charmander !" Think shouts as Charmander slowly stands up. " That's what you get for messing with Team Eclipse ! Nice job Pancham !" "Pan Cham ! " It cries. " Charmander can you still battle ?!" Charmander struggles to keep its footing then the air changes. The wind becomes dry and warm making the grass dry up and change color. Some of the trees leaves wither and turn yellow and orange. Charmander then roars and a large fiery aura surrounds Charmander. Dan and James arrive to see the event happening . " Think ?! What's happening to Charmander ?!" Dan says "It's blaze !" "What's blaze ? "
Dan asks as James smiles. " You seriously don't know?! It's an ability that occurs when a fire type Pokémon is weak. It draws out the rest of its energy for a short while to boost its strength !" Linda gawks. " Wha ?! What's happening ! ... Pancham use Arm thrust then tackle !" Thinks body feels warmer and his bodies tingling with energy and strength. then his ocean blue eyes turn a fiery orange " Lets do this Charmander ..." Charmander nods and its eyes turn orange as well. The Pancham charges forward with an arm thrust. " Charmander use Ember Full Power ! " Charmander stomps it's foot and out from it mouth shoots a large beam of fire as Pancham is blasted back.
" Pancham use Tackle !!!" Pancham rushes toward. " Charmander intercept with scratch !" Charmander rushes forward as well and upper cuts Pancham into the air then does multiple scratches. Pancham and Charmander both drop on to the ground. Pancham then groans then faints and Charmanders eyes turn back to normal and so does Thinks. " Charmander we did it !" Charmander smiles. " No ! This wasn't supposed to happen !" Linda shrieks as Think scowls in anger. " You brought this upon yourself and now give me back my Necklace." She grits her teeth " What ! how could this happen? Oh, this really isn't good. The boss is going to be so mad at me. Fine, here, take your necklace back. But just remember Team Eclipse always gets what they want."
And she was off back to Cheshma Town. James and Dan run at Charmander and Think. " Think was that ?!" Dan asks " Yeah the ability blaze is usually a short effect. How did you manage to make it last long ?"
Think was even questioning himself " I don't know maybe it had to do with Charmanders strength." Dan with wide eyes grins " Well whatever it was that was sick !" James agreed and the three headed back to Cheshma Town talking together happily.
