(The week after Lady was enrolled into the NWR's School, all the student drivers were in their engines, driving up and down the lines with many loads in tow, and smiles across their faces. A special celebration for Sodor day was coming, and everyone was very excited because it was a celebration like no other. With a great amount of the residents out on picnics and the biggest carnival that Sodor will ever get. As Percy and Timothy were double heading a goods with their engines, they heard two familiar engine whistles in the distance.)
Percy: Hey Timothy. is it me or does those whistles sound like...
Timothy: (As he then saw the engines coming by with a great speed.) It is indeed, Percy! Look!
(As Percy then did, he saw Thomas and James racing their engines with a great amount of speed. Faster the wind, and much more daring than a bunch of darting arrows.)
Thomas: I'm going to win!
James: No! I will!
(As the blue e2 and the red class 28 whizzed by Timothy and Percy, they found them to be a splendid sight indeed. As Thomas and James's engines wizzed under bridges, wheeshed through tunnels, and rattled round bends, everyone was very amazed at their speed. Then as the two drivers then made it to the wharf, the drivers of the skarloey railway were very surprised. As the drivers then made it to the platform, where Mr Percival, the thin controller was waiting, Thomas's E2 took the lead, and slowed to a stop as James's 28 followed suit a few seconds after.)
Thomas: I won this one! Valiant effort James!
James: (chuckles) I'll win the race next time. Just you wait.
Mr Percival: Excellent effort to the both of you! (looks at James) James, since you weren't the winner of the race for the special, I'll still give you your favorite job here.
James: Woo! Unloading barges galore!
Mr Percival: (looks at Thomas) And Thomas, you are to collect logs from the transfer yards and bring them back down here. Dunkin would be accompanying you.
Thomas: Yes sir.
(As Thomas and Dunkin then drove their engines away, the E2 driver felt very worried because he knew of Dunkin's not so nice side. Later, at the transfer yards, Thomas had two flatbeds attached to his E2 as Dunkin then arrived with the logs. As the logs were then transferred, Dunkin looked over at Thomas with a smug look.)
Dunkin: Hey. You want to go back to the wharf quickly? Then why don't you take the rolling river bridge back. It's the fastest way, and you'll be on time too.
Thomas: Hmm. Well, that does sound nice to be early. Uh sure, why not.
(As the last of the logs were loaded onto the standard gauge flatbeds, Dunkin led the way. Then once the two drivers made it to the next signal, Dunkin pointed towards the track straight ahead.)
Dunkin: That track will take you to the bridge.
Thomas: Right. Thanks Dunkin! (opens regulator.)
(Though Dunkin sniggered mischievously, he had zero idea of the bridge's condition for it hadn't been used for a very long time. As Thomas then stopped his E2 at the bridge, he looked down at the ravine below.)
Thomas: (gulps) Oh goodness me. This bridge is very high. (looks ahead.) Dunkin said that the wharf will be at the other side. If I have my engine go slowly, I'll be there before I know it.
(And so, Thomas did just that, and slowly edged his E2 onto the bridge.)
Thomas: I am brave and I am strong. I'll get to the wharf, it won't take long.
(As Thomas then continued to edge his E2 on to the bridge, he suddenly heard another noise.)
Thomas: What's that?! (as he then saw the very front end of the bridge break away.) WAH! I have to get back to safety!
(As Thomas then reversed his engine towards the hillside, the first section of the bridge that broke away cracked again and fell into the ravine below. As Thomas then made it back to the safety of the hillside, the center section of the bridge broke away and fell into the depths of the ravine.)
Thomas: Phew! That was too close!
(As Thomas then went back to the signal to where he started at, he suddenly noticed another set of tracks.)
Thomas: (as he eyed at the track) Hmm. Maybe that would take me to the Wharf as well. (opens regulator)
(As Thomas's engine chuffed down the old line, it pushed through a lot of bushes. The track was indeed safe but had not been used in a very long time. Then suddenly, as Thomas made it to the other side, he gasped in amazement, for he had stumbled upon a very old town, with windows boarded up and a station covered in ivy.)
Thomas: What a strange place to have a town. I wonder what else I might find here.
(As Thomas then edged his e2 forward, his jaw dropped in amazement as he saw what he found next.)
Thomas: There are so many buildings. (as he then eyed a broken building next to him.) And that must've been the base of a tower. (smiles) Oh gosh. Everyone has got to know about THIS.
(As Thomas then drove his e2 forward, he blew its whistle long and loudly, as he eventually found himself on some bumpy track.)
Thomas: Someone's bound to hear my engine's whistle.
(Suddenly as Thomas continued on, the student engine driver heard a familiar horn as a green flatbed lorry drove up, and the female driver stepped out of it.)
Thomas: Madge! I found an old abandoned town!
Madge: Oh goodness! I'll be sure to spread the news! Just hurry to the wharf!
Thomas: Right.
(As Thomas opened his engine's regular again, his tank engine continued it's way to the wharf. Once he was there, he found Sir Topham Hatt waiting for him.)
STH: Thomas, I heard word that you found an old town.
Thomas: Indeed I have sir. It was so amazing.
STH: Can you take me to it please? I wish to see it myself.
Thomas: Of course sir.
(as Thomas then drove his engine back to the old town, Sir Topham Hatt gasped in amazement and surprise.)
STH: (as he looked around) Oh my. This is an amazing find. (looks at Thomas) Thomas, it appears you have found Great Waterton!
Thomas: (gasps as he heard the name.) Really sir? This is the lost town that we heard stories about?
STH: Indeed it is. Since this town is such an important piece of Sodor's history, I think it's only right that we bring it back to its former glory for Sodor day. (Thomas smiles) I'm very proud of you, Thomas. I really am.
(As Thomas then smiled, he never felt more important. He hadn found one of Sodor's first station towns and he was very happy. As Thomas then took Sir Topham Hatt to Knapford station, all of Thomas's friends and their engines were there. They heard about Thomas's discovery and were in disbelief.)
Percy: Thomas. Is it true that you found an old town?
Thomas: Oh it's way more than that, Percy. As it turns out the town that I found was Great Waterton.
Lady: (gasps) Great Waterton?! (smiles) Oh my gosh, Thomas. That's amazing!
STH: (as he stepped out of Thomas's E2) Indeed it is. Which is why WE are going to restore for Sodor day. All of you will be VERY busy.
Thomas: Don't forget to call Ms Jenny and Jack's team within the construction company, sir. We're certainly going to need their expertise.
STH: Oh I plan on it, Thomas. Now, all of you worked hard today. So, feel free to head home and rest up with your families. You'll probably have a day that's busier than most tomorrow.
(As Sir Topham Hatt then went into his office, Thomas brought his e2 back to the sheds, and headed home. Once he was there, the E2 driver told about his find to his family.)
Timothy: No fricking way! You found Great Waterton?!
Thomas: Yup.
Billster: That's so awesome, brother!
Howard: I never thought that this day would even happen, considering the stories we heard.
Annie: But yet our brother found it, and all on a drop of a hat.
Tanya: We'll this discovery is certainly worth celebrating over.
(As the Billintons then celebrated Thomas's discovery, little did the 14 year old know that Sir Topham Hatt was awaiting for a new student to arrive, one that would make him feel smaller than ever.)
(End of Episode)
Thomas: Ok. Time for the next episode's preview. So, with Great Waterton's restoration well under way, Sir Topham Hatt places me in charge of overseeing it. However, when the new student arrived, I found myself all alone, and forgotten as I saw him having a wonderful time with my friends. I hate this so much! I just want to have the people that I care about stand by me! Is that too much to ask?! Next Time. Enter Stanley.
