Hermione Granger

Ron was wandering around the school grounds looking for his best mate, Harry Potter. The last six weeks were awful because Ron abandoned Harry when he needed his best mate. Now that the first task in the Triwizard Tournament ended a week and a half ago, Ron needed to find Harry and make amends with him. Ron finally found Harry sitting on a tree stump near the Black Lake, and he was sitting next to a girl with bushy-brown hair. Knowing the girl sitting next to Harry was Hermione, Ron's jealousy flared up and he stomped over to Harry and Hermione.

"Look who decided to stroll by!" Hermione sneered in Ron's direction, as soon as she spotted him approaching her and Harry.

"What're you doing walking up to us, Ron?" asked Harry in an irritable tone.

"To make up for my behaviour towards you, Harry." Ron claimed.

"Don't bother, Ron!" said Harry in a furious voice. "You had more than enough time to make it up to me, but you blew your chances once the first task ended. If that hungarian horntail killed me, you wouldn't have had that chance to make amends with me anymore. Since you abandoned me in my time of need, Neville stepped in and now he's my best mate."

"That's right, Ronald!" snapped Hermione. "That's why he has more confidence and a better belief in himself, since Harry and I have been helping him out with that."

"You'd be dead if it weren't for me, Hermione," Ron retorted. "I saved you from that troll on Halloween of our first year."

"Actually, Ron, that was Harry," stated Hermione. "He was the one who jumped on the troll's neck and tried to take it on despite being no match for it. You just stood off to the side and only used the levitation charm as soon as the troll dangled Harry by his ankle."

"Hermione is right, Ron," said Harry matter-of-factly. "If you also remember, it was my idea to rescue Hermione. You were the reason she was crying her eyes out because you were being an insensitive prat in insulting her. I put up with it because I thought you would change, but it didn't seem to happen. Hermione and I better off without you, so you can turn around and take a hike."

Ron's blue eyes flashed with anger as he raised a hand to smack Hermione across the face. Harry charged toward his former best mate to protect Hermione, but she beat him to it. As soon as Ron's hand was close enough, Hermione grabbed his wrist and kicked him in the groin, much to Harry's surprise. Ron placed his hands over his bits as he gave a high-pitched squeal because of the pain.

"Shame on you for trying to attack a lady, Ronald!" Hermione shouted in his horror-stricken face. "You've just proven yourself to be a coward for your stunt."

"I have no use to have cowards as friends," Harry growled at Ron. "Now I suggest that you leave me and Hermione alone before you bite off more than you can chew!"

Refusing to back off and ignoring the pain from Hermione's kick, Ron lunged at Harry and tried to punch him. Harry ducked and punched his former best mate in the nose. Ron fell backwards onto his bum as he saw stars dancing through his vision. Then with his eyes squeezed shut, Ron pinched his nostrils shut to control the bleeding and once the stars cleared away, he saw Harry and Hermione giving him nasty glares with their arms crossed.

"I warned you to back off, but you wouldn't listen," Harry told Ron in an angry voice. "Be grateful that your injuries aren't all that serious and use this as a lesson."

"And be grateful that we're not reporting this to your parents," Hermione scolded the jealous redhead before her and Harry, then she pointed a finger in the direction of the castle. "Now you'd better leave me and Harry alone before we're tempted to take more drastic measures."

Knowing he had no choice, Ron got up while keeping his nose pinched shut and stumbled away. As soon as Ron was out of sight, Hermione wrapped her arms around Harry's torso and hugged him. Harry hugged her back, the feeling of which felt so good.

"What shall we do now, Mione?" asked Harry.

"Maybe go to the Three Broomsticks for some butterbeer," suggested Hermione. "If I remember right, Neville said something about going there to meet up with someone special."

"Alright then, let's go to the Three Broomsticks," said Harry. "I'd like to see who this special girl is who Neville will be meeting up with, assuming he hasn't done so yet."

Then Harry and Hermione began heading over to Hogsmeade Village to go to the Three Broomsticks. As they were doing so, Harry and Hermione started holding hands (which felt so warm and soft) while smiling. With Ron taken care of, Harry was free from his negative influence and could start associating himself with the right people. For once, Harry had luck on his side.

The End!

Author's note: Yep, this was a rare moment where I did a Harmony pairing story (even if it was only a one-shot). I'll let you decide who will be the special girl Neville intended to meet up with. Which girl should Harry be paired with in the next one-shot? Please let me know in a review or a PM, happy reading!
