I made a mistake when I was posting chapters the last time, so you should go back and read the last chapter to make sure you're up-to-date on everything going on in the story.
Magnus had an amazing apartment. He had a great interior design sense, although honestly, it looked like a rainbow had puked everywhere. When we were next to each other, Magnus looked at me, staring right into my eyes.
"Alec?" Magnus asked. "Is it you?"
"Yeah," I replied. "I'm Alexander Lightwood, but I go by Alec. You've met me before."
"I remember. At the club, right?"
"Pandemonium. Why didn't you recognize me?"
Magnus sighed. "The last time I saw you was when you were two. Now, sixteen years later, you look a lot different. Oh, and I'm interested in you now. So there's that."
I blushed. Magnus smilied, almost as if he liked making me blush.
"You can sit down now," Magnus told me. I'd been awkwardly standing in his apartment. Now I sat down on his couch.
"So what are you going to do to me?" I asked. Magnus laughed, sitting down next to me, almost touching me.
"If I had time, I'd do a lot of things to you," Magnus whispered into my ear. "But I only have a little time. I'm just going to do some magic on you to see what my earlier spell did."
"What did you do to me before?" I asked.
"Ugh!" Magnus exclaimed. "Did the Shadowhunters tell you anything?" He sighed again. "You have powers, Alexander. Valentine experimented on your mother before you were born. Angel blood. No one knows what angel it was, but all we know is that you and your sister have powers."
"What kind of powers?"
Magnus smilied. "I saw yours. You were lighting fires all over the place. Your father carried a fire extinguisher with him at all times, just in case. I don't know about your sister."
"Now I don't want to touch you," I said.
"You can touch me all you like," Magnus replied. To prove his point, he took my hand, threading his fingers through mine. I wasn't a huge touchy person, but somehow, Magnus's touch calmed me down. I was feeling a lot of things right now, but Magnus helped me focus.
"Thank you," I whispered, leaning against Magnus. "But why didn't I know about my powers?"
"I blocked them," Magnus explained. "So you wouldn't hurt anyone. But I think the spell is going to wear off. In just a few days, strangely. Your sister just turned sixteen, right?"
"Yes. Just two weeks before I met you . . . again."
"Well, you have at least a week. But we have to be careful with your powers. You could burn down the entire city if you had the chance."
"I can control it," I promised.
"I thought I could do that, too," Magnus told me. "You don't want to know what happened."
"Well . . . maybe you could block my powers again."
"We could try," Magnus said. He was still holding my hand, and I didn't want him to let go. "It wouldn't take too long, but this time, it'll only last for a month. Doing it when you're older gets more complicated. Well, at least I didn't have to see you every year. But I'm really surprised your parents didn't try and block your Sight."
"My what?"
Magnus sighed again. "Damn Shadowhunters, can't teach anyone anything," he muttered. Then, in a louder voice, he said, "Your ability to see through glamours, to see the Shadow World. That's why you could see the runes on your parents."
"I . . . kind of miss them. Not a lot, but I still want them back."
"Did you leave anyone behind when you left with the Shadowhunters?" Magnus asked. "A girlfriend, or something?"
"Nothing like that. I don't like girls. My sister left her boyfriend, Simon behind. She'll probably go back to him, because he's really clingy, and she's really attached to him."
"You don't like girls?" Magnus pressed. "What do you mean by that?"
I took a deep breath. "I'm gay. Please don't hate me." I shifted so I could look at Magnus's face clearer. He was staring at me with those beautiful cat eyes, and it was such a loving stare.
"Alexander," he whispered, reaching towards me with his other hand. He put his fingers under my jawline, tilting my head up so our lips were almost touching. Like in the club. It was a do-over of sorts. "Have you been kissed before?" he asked.
"No," I replied. "But I've never liked anyone like you before."
Magnus leaned forward, just a tiny bit, and that was all it took. All it took to have us kissing.
For my first kiss, it was amazing. Magnus was careful, and that spoke volumes. But-I wanted him not hold back, to kiss me harder and more passionate. Not like I was complaining already, because his lips were soft, and he was a good kisser.
Magnus didn't stop holding my hand, squeezing it a little. And you know what? I was happy. I'd never felt that happy before. I'd never been as happy as when Magnus's lips touched mine for the first time.
We broke apart, gasping for breath.
"That-that was great," I stammered, still trying to catch my breath.
"So you really have never been kissed," Magnus noticed.
"Did that matter?" I asked.
"No, Alexander," he whispered. I loved the way Magnus said my name, whispering each syllable with equal weight, like it was important. My parents only called me by my full name when they were angry with me. Magnus said my name like it was declaration of love for me.
"You have such beautiful blue eyes, you know," Magnus pointed out. I smiled.
"People compliment me on them sometimes. Not like that."
Our faces were still close together. Magnus looked like he wanted to kiss me again, but was holding himself back.
"You can kiss me again, you know," I told him. "I wouldn't mind."
"Well, you just had your first kiss," Magnus whispered. "Are you sure you want more?"
"I always want more," I whispered back.
"You're so delicious," he said in a low voice. "I wonder if I'll ever get to taste any other parts of you." I blushed.
Magnus kissed me softly, gently. I pulled Magnus even closer to me with my other arm, and Magnus moaned against my lips. Literally moaned. I felt my heart beat strongly in my chest as pressed gentle kisses on my face, making me blush even more.
"You're so beautiful," I told him. "I love you in blue."
"You should see me in hot pink," Magnus said. "Or gold."
Magnus took the hand that wasn't holding mine, and drew it down my neck, setting it on my shoulder. I shuddered, because Magnus touched me so gently, yet in a way that spoke of greater passion. He made me feel wanted; more wanted than I'd ever felt in my life.
"I would love that," I replied.
"You turn me on." Magnus stroked my shoulder with his finger. "And I've seen you a few times at this age. But all I know is that you're sexy."
I swear, I blushed so much, my face and neck were bright red. Magnus laughed and kissed me again, as gentle before. I could spend the rest of the day with him, if I had to.
Then I realized we'd been together for twenty minutes. I knew Isabelle would start to think things-maybe even Jace.
"I need to go now," I said. "People might get suspicious." I got up, slowly letting go of Magnus's hand. "I'll see you in a while. Bye, Magnus."
"Bye," Magnus said, barely more than a whisper.
Okay, I just changed the rating to M. And that's only because no one said anything, and also because I had some ideas. Just what Magnus is saying in this chapter says enough about what's gonna come soon.
