"The New Emerald Coast seems like the perfect place to get away from it all." Amy smiled. "You can hang out at the beach, or float in the clear crystal blue ocean all along. Then dine as you watch a spectacular sunset." She smiled as she imagined it all. "It sounds so romantic." She said dreamily.

Kat and Penny just stared at her. "Ok..."

"I wish we were going to the opening party." Kat suddenly said.

"We'll have fun at the Thorndyke's villa." Cream smiled. "Are you ready to go, Cheese?"

Cheese smiled and chaoed in response.

"I'm ready too, Guys!" Tails smiled. "My flight plane will take us right to the Emerald Coast."

Penny smiled at the fox. "Be careful, Tails, and try not to let anybody see you."

"They won't have a problem as long as they stay on the grounds of the villa." Grandpa Chuck said.

"I wish we can hang out with them instead of going to the resort opening," Penny said sadly.

"I know, but your mother can't make it, so she needs you to go in her place," Grandpa told Penny.

Penny looked sternly at Chris and Kat. "And you two get all the fun!" She said.

"Don't worry, Penny." Chris smiled. "You'll be able to join us once this all ends."

"Chris is right." Kat smiled.

"You won't have to stay long, and after, you can join the others at the villa." Grandpa smiled, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"That's great!"

Chris looked over at Sonic. "And I can give you a swimming lesson, Sonic!"

"You guys go on without me," Sonic said.

Silver frowned.

"But, Sonic, I can't do this without knowing you will be there to hang out with me once this is all over!" Penny tried to reason with him.

"I'm staying right here."

Penny stared at Sonic, shocked at what he was saying.

"Sonic, what do you mean you're not coming with us?" Amy snarled.

"That's right." Sonic hopped down in front of Penny and Amy. "Have fun, I gotta run." He dashed out.

Penny looked down, feeling disappointed. Kat put a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"That's weird. I wonder why Sonic doesn't want to go to Emerald Coast with us!" Chris said.

"It must be because Sonic hates water." Cloud said.

Blaze nodded. "He won't come near the ocean because he can't swim."

A memory of Sonic's reaction of after Penny pulled him out of the water appeared in the girl's head. He was coughing hard, if she remembered correctly.

"I forgot about that." Chris said.

"But Sonic doesn't have to swim." Tails said from his plane. "He could go running on the beach!"

"It's not gonna be much fun without Sonic." Amy said sadly.

"For once, I agree with you," Penny told Amy.

"What do you mean, for once?" Amy asked angrily.

"Hey, hey, hey, no need to fight right now." Hiro stepped in between them.

"Hiro's right," Kat said.

Chris looked disappointed as well.

"Miss Penny!" Ella called over to them. "We have to leave now or you'll be late for your ceremony!"

"Have a great time, Penny." Grandpa and Chris patted Penny's shoulder. "Eat all the watermelon for me!" Chris added.

Penny laughed, ruffling his fur and giving last-minute hugs to everyone. "We'll meet up later."

"Promise." Blaze smiled.

"Don't be long." Amy smiled.

"See you there!" Tails smiled.

"Don't be nervous, Penny." Amy smiled. "That opening party will go just fine!"

Penny laughed nervously.

Soon, everyone was ready to go.

"Next Stop, Emerald Coast!" Tails smiled. The X Tornado took off as soon as the trees parted along the getaway.

Penny sat in the back of the car, and she heard airplane noises above me, and Penny saw the X Tornado flying above them.

"Mistress Penny." Mr. Tanaka turned to her. "Remember that you are representing your family the Thorndykes on this trip."

"I'll do my best, Mr. Tanaka," She said.

Meanwhile, on a field of flowers, Sonic smiled as he laid down on the green grass. He picked up a flower and sniffed it.

"Who needs the ocean?" He asked.

Behind the Thorndyke villa, Chris, Kat, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Tails, Silver, Blaze, Cloud, and Hiro were all enjoying the hot weather and ocean water. Chris and Kat were taking turns burying each other in the sand. Cream and Cheese were playing with a floating toy when they squealed with delight when Tails splashed water at them with his tail. Amy was going scuba diving. Blaze was walking with Silver on the beach. Cloud and Hiro just watched them from the balcony, smiling down at all of them.

Amy swam up for air and took a gasp of air. "This place is unbelievable!" She gasped happily.

"It sure is, Amy." Kat smiled from the beach.

"I'm really glad we came!" Tails smiled.

"And we'll have more fun when Penny gets here!" Cream smiled.

...

Not too far away, the resort opening was just beginning. People everywhere were laughing and talking. As for me, Penny was in her below-the-knees shiny blue dress, with her hair down instead of tied up in a braid or bun. The whole routine was to shake people's hands as they walked past.

Penny sighed. This was hard work!

Mr. Tanaka leaned into Penny. "Try to look interested." Mr. Tanaka encouraged. With a sigh, the girl waved him off and shook another person's hand. floaty

Oof. This was going to take forever.

...

On the shore side, Amy was walking along the water. She smiled as she took in the view. "Lovely," Amy said dreamily. "I just wish Sonic were here with me!"

She imagined herself playing in the water with Sonic. Her imagination changed to them sitting on the beach watching the sunset. In his arm was a floaty. Sonic reached out his hand to her, and she took it. Sonic shot her a loving look, and they leaned into each other.

"It would be so romantic!" Amy laughed happily. "Oooh! We will be so happy!"

That's when a coconut decided to ruin her daydream.

Amy shot the coconut a glare. She stood up and marched over to it.

"YOU JUST RUINED MY FANTASY!" She roared at the coconut. She picked it up and tossed it far into the water. What she didn't know was that she hit something strange.

The robotic-like creature sunk deep into the water.

On shore, Amy was fuming angrily. Then, she took a deep breath. "Just thinking about Sonic can make me go crazy." She smiled. She sighed again.

She heard some people laughing. Curious, Amy carefully walked closer.

"You're so wonderful, Chad," The girl told the boy next to her.

"So are you, Wendy." The guy named Chad smiled gently at her.

Amy was so annoyed, she yelled out to nowhere: "SONIC, WHERE ARE YOU?!"

...

Later, Amy continued her walk when she heard the couple talking again.

"I made something for you, Chad." Wendy was saying. Curious, Amy walked closer.

"Yes, it's nothing really." Wendy smiled shyly. "But I want you to have it,"

Amy looked to see a bracelet made with pink shells, connected together with string. "It's a lucky charm for when you go into the water!" Wendy smiled, handing it to Chad. "It's just like mine!"

"Thank you." Chad took it. "I'll always wear it and think of you."

Amy watched, an idea suddenly popping into her head.

...

Later, Amy finished the bracelet Sonic made. "Hmm, I wonder what Sonic will say. I know he possibly likes Penny better, but..."

"What's that bracelet for, Amy?" Cream suddenly popped up from behind her.

"Nobody." Amy said, blushing.

"You didn't make that for Sonic, did you?"

"No, of course not!" Amy blushed madly.

That's when something crashed next door.

...

People everywhere were screaming as the robot crashed through the crowd. Penny gasped in horror.

"I'm turning the Emerald Coast into my kind of stomping ground!" Eggman snarled. His robot crashed into boats, preventing people from leaving.

Penny watched, fear tracing her blue eyes.

"All right. Time for my de-construction crew."

Eggman's robots came in one by one, destroying everything in its path. It soon took the whole resort building down.

"I gotta find a way to call Sonic and Silver!" Penny gasped. Hearing rumbling behind them, Ella, Tanaka, and Penny turned around to see Eggman behind them. "You'll be my first guests!" He sneered. "Welcome to Eggman's scream park, where your first vacation is guaranteed to be your last."

Mr. Tanaka stood in front of the girl. "Stay behind me, Mistress Penny. I will guard you. As your father's servant, it is my duty to protect you and Chris. Thankfully, Chris isn't here. He's safe with the others at the villa. I will protect you here and now, even if it means sacrificing my life." He looked up. "Now, it is time for both of us to face our fate." He made material arts noises and began to get into a fighting stance.

Ella grabbed him by the arms, though. "Easy, now. Tanaka, you aren't even strong enough to lick a stamp." She scolded. Mr. Tanaka blushed and straightened his tie. "It's true." He muttered.

Penny looked up at the older people, fear in her eyes. "Right now, our only hope is Sonic and Silver." She said, glaring at Eggman.

...

Back at home, Sonic entered, holding flowers in his hands. "Hey, Penny!" He called. "I have something for...you..." He paused to see the house was empty.

"I forgot everyone is gone but me," he said sheepishly. "I'll put these flowers in this vase for Penny when she gets back." He smiled and placed them in the nearest vase. "You don't see beautiful flowers like these at the seashore." He smiled. "The mountains are far superior."

"Sonic!" Chuck suddenly said from the door. He marched over to the hedgehog. "So, you're finally here, aren't ya?" He growled a little.

"Yeah." Sonic said, confused on why Chuck was looking upset at Sonic.

Chuck sat down on the couch, picked up the remote, and turned on the TV.

"A gang of robots destroyers have been wrecking hotels and resorts all on Emerald Coast. The situation is going more dangerous by the hour. Authorities have issued evacuation orders."

Sonic stared at the TV in shock. Penny! She was at one of those resorts, was she?!

Eggman appeared at the screen, causing Sonic to jump back a little.

"The owners of Emerald Coast Resort didn't invite me to their opening, so I knocked it down and turned it into my own vacation destination. It is now called Eggman's Scream Park!"

Sonic glared at the TV in disgust. Suddenly, he heard laughing behind him. "I bought you a personal invitation." Bokkun smiled as placed down a bomb. "Your friend Penny is already there! She's having a great time!"

Sonic stared angrily at Bokkun.

"Stop by! You'll have a real blast." Bokkun took a few steps and left as soon as the bomb began to count down. Suddenly, it exploded, destroying the flowers Sonic picked for Penny and covering him and Chuck in dust.

Sonic quickly recovered and sighed at the ruined flowers. "Oh well." He shrugged, and darted to the resort, leaving poor Chuck still standing there, covered in ash and in shock.

...

Amy gasped as she watched through a pair of binoculars. "It's Eggman!" She gasped.

Blaze and Kat gasped, realizing that Penny must be down there, and in danger once again.

"PENNY!" Blaze cried, putting her hands to her mouth in shock.

In the air, Tails flew faster down to the ground. "Out of the way!" He called. Amy, Blaze, and Cream hopped back. "I'm going to save Penny!"

Amy tossed the binoculars at Tails, who caught them. Amy made a dash to the seat behind him. Blaze followed, and so did Silver.

"Amy, what are you doing?!" Silver looked at the pink hedgehog in shock.

Amy frowned. "Sonic's gonna show up to help, but if he doesn't, Penny will need all the help she can get." She said.

Tails looked at her, kind of surprised that Amy wanted to help Penny.

"Be safe, guys!" Kat called. She stood there on the beach along with Cream, Cheese, Cloud, and Hiro.

"Be careful as well." Hiro called.

The X-Tornado took off, flying toward the ruined resort.

"I hope they make it back safely." Cream whispered, clutching to Cheese.

"They will, Cream." Kat said, rubbing the female rabbit's head gently.

...

Eggman was getting too impatient for the robots to finish their work. "Build faster!" He laughed. "Don't use too many nails and bolts. And use water on the cement. I want these rides to be the most dangerous rides in the universe."

Watching on the ground, Mr. Tanaka still insisted on protecting Penny, so he had his arms around her for protection.

Suddenly, something zoomed into the air and began wrecking the site. Sonic soon landed on the ground beside the broken robots.

"Well, well." Sonic smirked.

"SONIC!" Penny yelped happily at her blue best friend.

"Hya Penny! Love the blue dress." He winked, causing Penny to blush. "Thought I'd stop by for a visit." He added. His smile turned into a glare, and he turned around to face Eggman.

"You fell right into my trap, Sonic." He smirked. "I know you can't swim, so I lured you into the sea."

Sonic glared even more fiercely at the mad doctor.

"Get him, Octron!" He ordered his robot.

The robot's sharp-like claws darted forward to try to stop Sonic, but Sonic was quicker. Sonic did a high kick at them, but was suddenly wrapped in one of the arms of the machine, unable to escape.

"You won't get away!" Eggman sneered.

"Yeah?" Sonic snarled. "Just watch me!" Sonic continued to struggle as the robot splashed him in the water.

"Let him go!" Penny cried, fright showing in her blue eyes.

"I'm giving Sonic a choice," Eggman smirked. "He can either forfeit the fight or forfeit his life."

Underwater, Sonic still struggled but was surprised when the robot pulled him out. "Well, Sonic, how'd you like the ocean?" Eggman sneered.

Sonic spat out water, and for a moment, he didn't say anything. Suddenly, he looked over to Eggman and smirked, "It's delightful!"

"Good. Now, let's see how long you could be able to stay under!"

Sonic smirked and managed to try to zoom as fast as he can to get out of the robot's grip. But the robot held him fast. "Don't let Sonic slip out of your grip, Octoron!" Eggman demanded. "Haul that hedgehog back into the ocean and don't let him up for air!"

Sonic strained as fast as he could, but the robot was resisting Sonic's straining. The robot got into the water, but Sonic still stood his ground.

Penny escaped Mr. Tanaka's grip and ran over to help Sonic. "SONIC, NO!" She cried.

"Penny, stay back!" Sonic glared fiercely at the girl. His stern tone scared her, and she stepped back, fear taking over once again.

...

Up in the air, Amy watched the entire thing. She knew she had to do something before Penny or Sonic got hurt... especially Sonic. She pushed the roof of the window up, startling Silver and Tails.

"Amy? What are you doing?" Tails cried.

Amy looked fiercely down at Sonic, and dove for him.

"LET HIM GO!" She shouted. She summoned her hammer and had a direct hit on the robot's arm, freeing Sonic.

"Amy! Sonic!" Penny cried, running over, and helping the blue hedgehog up. "Are you ok?"

"Sure, I'm fine." Sonic coughed.

"HOW COULD YOU?!" Eggman screamed.

"Keep your rotten robots away from my Sonic and don't you dare hurt Penny or you're gonna be sorry!" She snarled.

"Thanks, Amy!" Sonic picked Penny up bridal style and dashed her to a safe place. He dashed up one of the rides and took a leap into the air.

"SONIC!" Silver hopped out of the plane, grabbing two of the rings. Sonic grabbed one, and he and Silver turned into super mode, crashing the robot until it exploded, and fell into the river.

Eggman screamed fiercely.

Sonic and Silver hopped to the ground next to Penny. "Sonic!" Amy cried, laughing. She ran up and caught him in a hug. "Whoa, lighten up, Amy." Sonic gasped.

"You won this time, Sonic!" Eggman snarled. "But I'm not through!"

He sped off in a huff, leaving them alone.

Sonic gently pulled Amy off him and looked at Penny. "Are you ok?" He asked. Silver looked at Penny, shaking his head. "Being risky again, I see?"

"Sorry, Silver," Penny said, turning red in embarrassment. "And Sonic, I'm fine." She smiled lovingly at Sonic.

Sonic smiled and turned to Amy. "What you did was crazy." He said.

"I know," Amy said. "But you make me do crazy things."

Sonic sweatdropped and looked over at her and mouthed, "Help." Penny chuckled softly. "No." She shook her head.

"Everything ok down there?" Tails called.

"Yeah, Tails. Thanks for the rings!" Silver waved up at the plane.

"Thank you," Sonic said to Amy and grabbed Penny's hand. But Amy stopped them before they took off.

"Hey!" She said.

Sonic and Penny turned to her.

"Sonic, this is a bracelet I made to protect you in the water." Amy smiled. In her hand, was a bracelet.

Sonic looked curiously at it. Penny was feeling jealousy, but she hid it well.

"You made it for me?" Sonic asked Amy.

"If you wear it, it would bring you good luck." Amy smiled.

"Really?" Sonic asked.

Amy smiled knowingly.

Sonic was about to take the bracelet, when something shook, causing the four friends to stumble. Amy grasped on to Sonic, and Silver held on to Penny, protecting her from any falling debris.

The bracelet fell to the ground.

"Your bracelet!" Amy cried. Amy and Penny gasped in shock as strange building blocks crashed on it. Penny couldn't help but feel bad for her. She worked on that bracelet for him, anyhow.

"I can't believe it!" Amy cried.

The robot suddenly finished building and turned into this giant robot monster.

"Told you I wasn't through with you, Sonic, Silver, didn't I?" Eggman asked. "My Quizzon has emerged from Serpenter, and it's ready to strike! Impressive, isn't it, Sonic and Silver?"

"Well, that thing is pretty tall," Sonic smirked at Eggman. "But I bet in a battle, it comes up short."

"You need more speed to survive this robot, Sonic!"

Amy and Penny stared down at the broken pieces of shells and string.

"Really? Yo, fang-face, let's see how quickly you can slither!"

"AFTER HIM, SERPENTER!" Eggman growled. "Get rid of the blue and silver bozos."

Sonic was teasing the robot as usual, while Silver jumped right in to try to destroy it. Penny was trying to comfort Amy, as she was still feeling upset about the broken bracelet. Poor Amy picked it up and began to cry, while Penny rubbed her back gently.

"I guess my lucky charm wasn't so lucky." She sobbed.

"Oh, Amy, " Penny said, trying to comfort her. The pink little hedgehog stared in sadness at her bracelet. She continued to cry.

Penny felt something grab her around the waist once again and let out a startled yelp, struggling. "LET ME GO!" Penny grunted, terrified as the robot lifted her high into the air. Eggman laughed. "Now, Sonic, Silver, you have a choice: Surrender, or lose the girl!"

Sonic and Silver stopped, looking at Penny.

That's when Amy started to seem to have fire in her emerald green eyes.

"All right, Serpenter, you know what to do." Eggman laughed evilly. "Put the squeeze on Penny and Sonic and then toss them out to sea."

That got Amy furious. "AAAHH!" She screamed. "YOU'RE GONNA PAY!"

She summoned her hammer. "DON'T MESS WITH ME OR PENNY!" She screamed and slammed the hammer on the robot's leg.

"Whoa." Silver said.

Sonic didn't say anything, he was just shocked.

"Oh my," Eggman said nervously.

Amy wacked her hammer on each of the building blocks and Penny yelped as the robot fell deeper within each block it lost.

Seeing Eggman decided that now wasn't the right time to attack, he muttered, "Perhaps I'd better go!"

Eggman flew off in fright.

Amy wasn't through. She looked at me. "You ready to kick Eggman's butt?"

"Yes." Penny smiled, taking her hand and grabbing a metal wire from the robot. The robot sprang us up and the two beaten Eggman out to sea. He fell, screaming.

Amy smashed Eggman, and Silver caught her before she landed in the water, but Penny wasn't so lucky.

She won't know what happened. Penny seemed to lose her swimming memory because after she splashed into the water, everything went white.

Mr. Tanaka, Ella, Amy, Sonic, and Silver gasped.

"PENNY!" Sonic yelled.

Sonic dashed into the water.

...

Tails and Blaze watched the whole thing from the airplane.

"PENNY!" Blaze cried.

"I can't believe it... Sonic's swimming!" Tails gasped.

Chris, who suddenly ran up, gasped. "No, Sonic! Penny!" He cried. Mr. Tanaka put a comforting hand on the boy's shoulder.

...

It was cool under the water, as Penny sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Penny opened her eyes just a teeny bit to see Sonic swimming towards her, arms outstretched.

"Sonic..." Penny thought, then everything went black once again.

...

Penny decided to wake up because her body decided not to die. Penny grunted as bright sunlight filled her vision. "Penny! You're awake!" she heard someone cry happily.

"W-wha..." Penny muttered softly, clutching her pounding head.

"You were unconscious for almost five hours," Kat said. She grasped Penny in a hug. "Don't scare us like that ever again!" She cried, tears going down her cheeks as she hugged her.

"Where am I?" Penny asked.

Cream smiled softly, looking like she was holding back the tears. "You're back at the villa! They bought you here after they pulled you out of the water."

"Who bought me?" Penny asked.

"Chris, Tails, Blaze in the X-Tornado," Cloud answered, sitting down next to Penny.

"Is Sonic ok?" Penny suddenly asked.

"Amy asked that too." Cloud explained. "He went back home."

Penny's hands flew to her mouth. "Poor Amy." She muttered sadly.

"She told me about the bracelet." Cream said. Penny hugged her.

"Could you do me a favor? Please tell her I'm sorry if I angered her about anything." Penny told her.

"Will do." Cream, Kat, and Hiro nodded. "We're just glad you're ok."

Penny smiled at them. "Thank you."

...

Somewhere back home, Sonic stared out into the lake. He sneezed.

"Sonic, you've gotta stay out of the water." He scolded himself.

He stood up, and on his wrist, tied securely, was the bracelet Amy made him.
