Chapter 9: The find

A/N: Aaaaiii... How are y'all? XD... Late Happy new year everyone. Read away.

Twigs cracked and leaves rustled as Kai walked through the woods. His face was tense, more than usual. He occasionally checked a map to ensure he was going the right way.

Tyson opened his eyes slowly to see his friends around him. He was still in the hospital. His situation had improved by a significant amount, though the same can't be said about his mind. He had lost Dragoon. He didn't know how it happened or even what exactly happened. He couldn't feel the presence of the bit-beast. He told himself not to think about the worst-case scenario.

'Dragoon isn't gone, He's just lost. And need to be found.' He assured himself.

"How are you feeling?" Max's voice cut him off of the chain of thought.

"I've been better." He was determined not to show his fears. He wouldn't let them see how vulnerable he was.

"Mr. D is on his way. We told him about the incident." Ray said.

"What did he say?" Tyson asked. "Was this mysterious blader his reason for sending us here?"

"Max and Ray looked at each other. "N…No Ty" Max stuttered. "He seemed just as confused as us." Tyson narrowed his eyes. "And...?" He pressed.

Max hesitated. "He was nervous. Like he was not telling us something. Also, he seems to blame himself. Because he was the one who sent us here."

"He feels guilty" Hilary had walked in with some food and medication.

"He shouldn't be. It's not his fault some lunatic attacked us out of the blue." Ray commented. "Why would someone do that though? Hilary placed the meds on a table and took the bowl of soup to his bed. Tyson tried to stretch out his hand to take the bowl but Hilary shook her head and offered him a spoonful herself. Tyson blushed. "It's okay Hils… I can…"

"Shut up and eat Ty" She cut him off.

Max chuckled and Tyson glared at him.

"Eat in peace Ty… We'll be outside." He smirked and nudged Ray to come along.

"Thanks, Hils." He said gulping down the soup. Which tasted too good be cafeteria food. "Did you make this?" He asked. "Y…Yeah is it bad?" She was flustered. "What? No…No… It's wonderful." He smiled. She returned it. "Your face is turning red." He commented. "You have a fever or something?"

"I'm fine… Just finish the soup." She gave him another spoonful to shut him up.

After the food was finished a nurse informed them that Tyson was ready to be discharged.

"Just don't take much strain for some time, till you feel completely energized again." She said. "You can travel. It won't be much of a problem. Since you aren't from here you'd want to go back home. Avoid flights and very high altitudes if you can." She finished and left.

"What did she say? Max came in with Ray. "That I'm free to go," Tyson said. "Great." Max cheered.

"In here sir," Ray said opening the door for Mr. D. He came into the room and Ray closed the door behind him. "How are you, my boy?" He asked sitting beside Tyson. "I'm fine." He said trying to sit up. "Oh no need Tyson…" Mr. D said.

"I didn't plan on our next meeting to be like this when I sent you here." He heaved a sigh. "I am terribly sorry for…"

"Don't be." Tyson cut across him. "You didn't know something like this would happen." Mr. D smiled, feebly.

"Or did you?"

Everyone looked at him. Eyes wide. "Tyson!... What are you…?" Ray started.

The smile faded from Dickenson's face. He looked up at Tyson and the others. Paused, and then sighed again.

"I know how this is going to sound, but I can't tell you everything. It's not time yet. " He seemed to answer with great difficulty.

Everyone tensed a little. It was unlike Mr. D to act like this.

"I did know…" Once again his words were interrupted. This time the culprit was his phone, which started ringing at that moment. He glanced at it and stood up immediately and answered it.

"Yes…"

Kai was standing by the mouth of a cave. The cave was huge. It had a look to it that suggested it was ancient. He looked worn out. Like he had to walk miles to get here. He checked something in a map which he had in his pocket and walked inside cautiously.

The cave went on for ages. It branched out, twisted, and turned. Did everything in its power to confuse whoever tried to navigate it. It took almost an hour but finally, the slate haired boy was standing in a room inside the cave. It had bricks for walls. Suggesting it was man-made. But the room looked as old as the cave itself. Bronze chains were tied from the four corners of the room to a stone pedestal in the center, which had weird engravings on the sides and a single circular indentation on top. The pedestal glowed faintly in the darkness of the cave. Kai approached it slowly. He stared at the engravings for a while before looking at the top. The light purple eyes widened in shock as he saw the circle on top. Without wasting a single second more He took out his phone which showed. 'No signal.'

He dashed outside the cave and panting heavily once he was outside, he dialed a number and put the phone to his ear.

The person answered promptly.

"yes..."

A/N: I'll cut it at that.. ehe... So as usual, what do we think? Great? Good? meh? Bad? Lame? tell me in the reviews.

Also, I'd like to thank anyone and everyone who has stuck with this story through its huge periods of stillness. I appreciate your patience more than anything. So thank you... Sending lots of love :)
