(Narrator POV)

When people hear the name Danny Fenton their reaction was normally one of confusion since not many had heard of him, but recently enough people had been hearing more and more of the teen's name and were slowly spotting him more and more often out of the corner of their eyes. Valerie Grey was one such person, she had heard about Danny Fenton a few times before actually seeing the guy, mainly from Kwan and Star, surprisingly enough.

He was scraggly and scrawny like they had described him to be, but he was supposedly the smartest person in the school, like his sister had been before him, and considering he had been helping Kwan pass his science classes, she had mentally dubbed him a genius. Though Valerie was still baffled by the fact that she had slowly been seeing the Loser Trio hanging around the main A-Lister group more and more often, and with Sam and Paulina not trying to kill one another every few minutes, it almost made things seem peaceful.

Kwan, Star, and Paulina, seemed to enjoy Danny's company the most from what she had noticed, with Dash having a grudging respect for the nerd since he had a spine. Tucker and Sam were interesting people in their own right, they both had their own clearly defined character, the only goth in the school and techno-geek were definitely more known than the so-called leader of the group.

"REEET!" "Loudly screamed the raven-haired boy in question, Valerie found herself slowly turning around towards the noise, seeing the teen laying face down on the ground, with a banana peel behind him, making Valerie purse her lips together.

'Can people even slip on banana peels?' Confusedly thought Valerie, watching as Danny quickly picked himself up off of the ground, with some help from Tucker and Sam, the former looking a tad amused from what had happened, while Sam looked concerned. "I wonder when those two will ask each other out? I wanna win me some money." Lazily hummed Valerie, turning back towards her locker and opening it, her eyes scanning through its contents, before landing on the object she was looking for a second later.

Her maths book, it was then she remembered that she had a test later, and it was only now that she realized something incredibly important, she had a test she did not study for. Stiffening slightly at the realization, Valerie quickly concluded that she had two options, fail the test and forget about it, or ask someone in her class, who hopefully did know about it.

"OI! Danny!" Loudly shouted Valerie, quickly making any form of conversation die in an instant, causing a small blush to rise on the girl's face, as all attention was on her and Danny. "Can you summarize what will be the maths test really quickly?!" Hurriedly questioned Valerie, already walking over towards the maths geek, so he didn't have to shout, and draw everyone's attention.

"Don't use the cosine rule on right-angle triangles." Instantly answered Danny, his icy blue eyes looked as if he was utterly dead on the inside since Danny knew that he could have been having a better day, but rarely anything went his way. "Other than that piece of gold, I'll leave everything else up to luck." Exasperatedly sighed Danny, acturely aware that he didn't study last night at all, though spending the majority of his night learning about Ghost Powers was a boon, not to mention the meeting with Phantom.

Valerie just nodded at Danny in appreciation, he had managed to actually help her with that part, since she hadn't written all of the notes down, and Danny had helped her, though it was just a small comment. Ivy green eyes softened slightly, finally taking a proper look at Danny Fenton, and how he had changed since the beginning of the year.

A small growth spurt, with a massive increase in muscle mass, Valerie couldn't help but compare him to an athlete at this point, since she could see the way that Danny's clothes were a lot tighter on him than they had been at the start of the year. A smooth arm wrapped itself around Valerie's neck, making the girl's eyes widen slightly, looking towards the owner of the arm before calming down.

"Checking out Fenton now, Valerie?" Amusedly questioned Star, her blonde hair was simply put into a ponytail today, which was different since she normally let it hang down. "Oh, how the mighty have fallen." Dramatically wailed Star, still not looking at Valerie entirely, making Valerie trace the girl's gaze, before smirking.

"Sure, I'm the one who's checking out Fenton." Exasperatedly agreed Valerie, looking into Star's eyes and wiggling her eyebrows suggestively while looking between her and Danny. "Or is this just a defensive mechanism of yours?" Interestedly questioned Valerie, watching in interest as Star's face darkened ever so slightly at the accusation, a small blush on the blonde's face.

"I've no idea what you're talking about." Bemusedly grumbled Star, upset that her fun had been ruined, as she silently tried getting the blush off of her face, though she felt her eyes slowly being drawn to Danny. 'He's just a friend... right?' Unsurely decided Star, she had known Danny since they were both young, and she had even gone out with Kwan for a while before they both decided that they would rather be friends, she couldn't possibly have a crush on Danny...

Right?

(Time-skip)

When was the last time he had leveled up?

Danny was actually kind of uncertain of when that had been actually since he had been rather occupied recently, and surprisingly hadn't come across many Ghosts or Quests/Missions to do, though there were going to be Football tryouts after school. The raven-haired teen found himself drumming his fingers against his desk, as he waited for Biology to start, Mr. Lancer was running late, and while that didn't happen often, Danny wouldn't pass up the chance to catch up on studying.

'Maths, I'll study maths.' Happily decided Danny, recalling that he had a test he had yet to properly study for, since he had mainly been goofing off and practicing over the weekend, and hadn't really gotten much of a chance to do anything at all. 'Status?' Idly called Danny, while pulling out his maths notebook, and flipped through the pages, his icy eyes softening as his status screen popped up.

All in all, Danny wasn't afraid to call himself somewhat lacking in some regards, since genuinely finding something to give him a decent chunk of EXP was definitely difficult to achieve, leaving everything up to luck. acutely aware that once he captured a Ghost for the first time the EXP he subsequently gets from them is reduced. Originally, Danny may have gotten 1000 from Skulker, but now he would be getting somewhere between 500 to 600 EXP, which was annoying.

'Hey System, is there any way of gaining EXP?' Mentally questioned Danny, whilst flipping through the pages of his notebook, not really expecting an answer, but was happy that a screen had appeared in front of him.

Gaining EXP:

EXP or Experience can be gained from either completing Missions, Quests, or defeating opponents. In order to gain more experience, you must defeat stronger opponents, and in the standard RPG game that would happen in a dungeon.

Since there is no such thing as a dungeon here, I will tell you about the Fighting Zone, which is within the Ghost Zone. You may either find it by asking Vlad or Clockwork.

"Danny, I've been thinking, can your parents make a device to mask or hide your ectoplasmic reading?" Quietly mumbled Tucker, watching as Danny's million-yard stare disappeared, before sliding over a sketch to the residential Halfa. "I emailed your parents last night, about their Ghost Detecting equipment, and I've been working on a way of finding a way to suppress it." Softly whispered Tucker, sending a nod over towards Danny, who had actually frozen at the gesture.

"Tucker... thank you." Sincerely thanked Danny, gulping slightly as a lump formed in his throat at the gesture, since he had no idea what he had done in order to deserve such good friends, especially Tucker and Sam, both of whom had been with him since the beginning. "What did I do to get such good friends." Emotionally asked Danny, leaning over and engulfing Tucker in a hug, not caring that he was in the classroom being watched by people.

*ping* Your relationship with Tucker Foley has maxed out! It is now entering a new stage!

Tucker Foley - Bro - 100/32000

"No problem Danny, you're like a brother to me." Amusedly snorted Tucker, returning the hug a moment later, and holding it for a few seconds, before pulling away with a grin on his face. "A lame little brother, but a brother nonetheless." Cheekily admitted Tucker, making Danny lazily swat the teen, who still had a large smile despite getting a slap from Danny.

"Hey Tucker, have you ever been flying?" Curiously hummed Danny, not bothering to keep the smile off of his face, since it would be nice to show his friends what he experienced almost daily, and hopefully, they would like it.

(Time-skip)

Things had almost been going absolutely perfect for Danny today, he had studied for his maths test, had a moment with Tucker, aced the maths test, and had the second last class before school ended with Sam. [Ghost Sense] had gone off a few seconds ago, both Tucker and Sam had been with him, since they all shared their last class together, and now they were both blocking Danny from view, as he sunk into the ground.

Energy crackled along Danny's body, as he sighed, the increase in strength was never missed, and Danny could feel his body feeling freer than before, as his Danny Phantom persona took over. [Invisibility], [Intangibility] and [Flight] could all be used now at once, something that Danny wasn't afraid to make use of, as he quietly flew through the school.

'It's nice that my parents helped with the Ghost Protocol.' Idly thought Danny, following his [Ghost Sense] to the source of it, all the while Danny was trying to gauge the Ghost's strength. 'This is definitely stronger than some of the other Ghosts.' Worriedly noted Danny, he was confident enough that he could at least weaken it enough to capture it in the Fenton Thermos, though his parents were making a more powerful one for him, however, outright defeating this Ghost was out of his league.

"Phantom!" Loudly bellowed Paulina, toxic green eyes widening in surprise, as he deactivated both [Invisibility] and [Intangibility], pausing for a second, while he tried finding where Paulina was. "Help me!" Worriedly shouted Paulina, she was around the corner, quickly making Danny zip around it within a second.

[Ghost Sense] was going wild, making Danny's eyes widen in confusion, as he stared at Paulina, not certain why [Ghost Sense] was going absolutely wild, telling him that the Ghost was right in front of him. Bright pink filled Danny's vision, his head whipping backward, as his spectral body went flying back, [Ecto-Enhancement] rippled to life across his skin, lessening the damage.

"RUDE!" Annoyedly shouted Danny, keeping an eye on Paulina, who wasn't actually her, making Danny's skin crawl at the similarities between the two, but the person in front of him was not Paulina. "Who are you?" Apprehensively questioned Danny, watching as the Paulina in front of him slowly faded away from sight, while dozens of identical Ghosts started rising up from the ground.

"I am Illumi, master of illusions." Softly introduced the Female Ghost, her hair was a flowing royal purple, with soft blue skin that had an eerie glow to it, yet Danny couldn't help but feel nervous about her. "You're Vlad's protégée, and I will hit him where it hurts." Loudly bellowed Illumi, her red eyes flaring with red ectoplasm, instinctively making Danny use [Observe] on her before she lunged.

'Which one?' Worriedly thought Danny, feeling the first clone who hit him crumble to dust, specks of dust flying into Danny's eyes from the illusion collapsing before something brushed off Danny's left shoulder. "[Ecto-Burst]!" Instantly commanded Danny, forcefully expelling his ectoplasm in a violent burst, and Danny heard a grunt escape Illumi's mouth from the blow.

Toxic green scorch marks covered the floor, wall, and roof around Danny, [Ecto-Burst] having become much more powerful than what it had once been, but Danny was still wary of Illumi. Things had been so normal just a few minutes ago, Danny had actually enjoyed today, except for the GIW, now things had gone horrible so quickly.

"So this is what you are afraid of?" Amusedly chuckled Illumi, snapping her fingers as all of the dust in the area shifted, green fire made from dust slowly started creeping up around Danny, as the school hallway and Illumi were fading away, slowly being replaced by a glimpse of Danny's nightmare.

Amity Park was up in flames, the mauled corpses of all of those he cared about were laid across the ground, Sam, Tucker, his mom and dad, Jazz, Star, Kwan, Vlad, and above them all was one lone Ghost, a Ghost that Danny couldn't defeat for the life of him. Bloody red eyes met Danny's own, pieces of his memories about this horrid dream were slowly coming to his mind, something that his subconscious had been pushing down.

"Do I scare you?" Gently whispered the lone Ghost, a pressure like none other descended on Danny's shoulder, while the Ghost walked forward, not at all bothered by the fact that he had stepped on top of his dad's head, crushing it a second later. "Do you fear this Danny Fenton? This part that you cannot stop? Are you afraid simply because you are superior, and are more like me, more than anyone else could ever hope to be?" Curiously questioned the Ghost, Danny couldn't even make out a single detail about the Ghost, other than his eyes and gleaming white fangs.

Danny felt his core pounding in his chest, his throat was tight as he continued walking backward, everything else was not important at the moment, he just had to get away from here. Even before Danny could activate [Flight], the Ghost appeared in front of Danny, with his clawed hand snapping forward, easily grabbing Danny by the neck, before he could even register the Ghost's speed.

"Who... are you?" Desperately heaved Danny, an unexplained amount of fear clenched both his heart and core, all the while Danny couldn't remove his gaze away from those bloody red eyes.

"Let me show you then, you've already reached the part of no return." Idly decided the Ghost, as he brought his claws up to Danny's left cheek, and clasped it, making sure Danny couldn't look away from him. "I hope you're ready, Dan." Amusedly chuckled the Ghost, while Danny desperately started struggling in the Ghost's grip, even using [Ecto-Burst] but it did nothing.

Green eyes widened in utter fear, as images flashed through his mind, he didn't even recall seeing any of these horrid images, of the people he cared about being killed by this Ghost, even the GIW agents weren't safe from this Ghost. These were no random images, these were the Ghost's memories, and the further the memories went back, the more worried Danny felt since the very last memory he saw was enough to make him wish he was dead.

This Ghost was created in the Fenton Ghost Portal, this Ghost... was him, Danny Fenton...

*ping* You're Human half and Ghost half have grown closer! A new skill has been developed!

[Haunting Aura]: (Passive) Level 1/100: EXP: 0%

Description: Each Ghost has an aura to them, and their aura mimics their current emotions, the happier they are, the more inviting their aura is, but the angrier they are, the more sinister it becomes. Note, this skill's current range is 100 meters, and will grow a meter every level.

Danny didn't even bother suppressing his fear, anger, or hatred anymore, making Danny struggle in this Ghost's grip, all the while toxic green eyes slowly started dulling, becoming an equal shade of bloody red a moment later.

"How long are you going to play the hero?" Gently tutted Dan, snow-white hair flickered in the wind, as it acted as if it was made of fire, and all the while Danny was slowly sinking into his emotions. "Soon, you'll be like me, and there's nothing you can do about it. You'll crave the buzz of a battle, the urge to get stronger, and one day, you'll reach my standard... go ahead, Observe me." Eerily chuckled Dan, while imaged flew through Danny's head, as the teen could barely comprehend anything that was going on around him, but he did use [Observe] on his future self.

Fear clenched Maddie's heart as she ran through the school with Jack, the latter had a Fenton Thermos strapped onto his back, along with a Fenton Bazooka, and had a pair of ecto-guns in his hand. There was a heart-wrenching aura blanketed over the school, it was worrying in the least since this sort of skill only belonged to powerful Ghosts, and Danny Phantom would definitely fit the bill.

"Maddie! This way!" Certainly shouted Jack, the man had a device out in his hand, something he had created in his off time, something that was specifically tuned to Phantom's ectoplasmic signature. "Hurry!" Loudly encouraged Jack, skidding around the corner and drawing the Fenton Bazooka, any of the man's normal goofiness had long since faded since his son was in danger.

A Ghost hung over Danny Phantom, a smirk on the Ghost's face was all but enough evidence for Jack before he pulled the trigger on the Fenton Bazooka without a second thought. The Ghost hanging over his son didn't even stand a chance, as she was sent rocketing forward from the blast, crashing into multiple pairs of lockers, and she didn't even get the chance to comprehend what was happening until Jack drew the Fenton Thermos.

"Don't you ever touch my son again, or I will make sure you enter oblivion." Coldly growled Jack, his icy blue eyes showed complete and utter hatred as he opened the Fenton Thermos, sucking in Illumi and closing it a second later. "Danny! Are you okay?" Worriedly gasped Jack, all of the hatred and anger in his eyes fading from them a second later, as he whipped around towards his son.

"Jack." Apprehensively gulped Maddie, slowly pulling Jack towards Danny, and pointed at their son, who was crouched over.

At first, Jack couldn't see what Maddie was pointing at, but his gut felt like it had been punched as he followed Maddie's finger, which was pointing at Danny's head. Their son was sitting on the ground, with his face resting in his palms, sobbing an eerie tune that sent shivers down their spines, at the unearthly melody.

"Danny, look at me." Softly whispered Maddie, reassuring her son, comforting after his ordeal, wanting to know what had happened to him, and what had made him so upset. "It doesn't matter, you're okay now." Gently mumbled Maddie, slowly wrapping her son up in a hug, and rubbed his ears, they were cold to the touch and pointed.

Pointed ears... that was new.

"I've so much to talk about." Quietly sobbed Danny, finally taking his face out of his palms, and looking at his parents, both of whom stiffened slightly at his gaze, before both renewed their resolve and hugged the teen.

"Red eyes look good on you." Jokingly chuckled Jack, watching as Danny's blood-red eyes slowly turned back into their toxic green color, and felt the aura that Danny was producing become warmer.

*ping* For helping defeat Illumi, you have been given 2000 EXP!

*ping* You have leveled up!

"Help me... I don't want to be a Halfa anymore." Weakly whispered Danny, a ripple of energy washing over him, as Danny entered back into his human self, the teen still shaking after what he had seen. 'I don't want to be stronger... especially if I do that in the future.' Worriedly thought Danny, apprehensively reaching upwards and grabbing onto his ears, which had returned to their normal selves.

"It's okay Danny, we've already developed something that can help." Slowly huffed Maddie, she wouldn't have used it on Danny if he was happy with his unique status, but his biology was so unique she couldn't help but check to see what exactly it could do. 'I've already found a way to stop Danny's body from producing ectoplasm, but nothing permanent.' Relievedly thought Maddie, as she continued to hug her little boy, before Jack picked him up, already carrying him to the Fenton RV.

Every cell in Danny's body was an ectoplasmic generator, red blood cells, white blood cells, nerves, skin, everything within Danny's body was producing ectoplasm, and all of their research told her it should be impossible, but she was seeing it for herself. What she had developed was relatively simple, a drug of sorts, that would suppress all of the ectoplasm within Danny's body, back into their cells, and from what she has gathered, there are no harmful effects to him.

From the blood cells that Danny had willingly given them, Maddie had learned that the mitochondria and nucleus were the producers of Danny's ectoplasm, which was interesting, to say the least, since his mitochondria were still rather similar to her own, though not identical. It was the nucleus that was truly interesting since it was the only thing to exist in both Danny's Human form and Ghost form, which Maddie had still yet to find the reason for.

'If he does have children, they won't be Halfas... they'd be quarter Human or Ghost, depending on the child's mother.' Distractedly noted Maddie, she wasn't certain what Danny's future children would be genetically speaking, for all she knew they could be a full Human or a full Ghost. "For now, we're taking you home, so don't worry Danny, it's all safe now." Soothingly whispered Maddie, holding Danny's hand as the teen drifted off to sleep, and Maddie was more than aware that both Sam, Tucker, and a group of teens that she didn't know were watching her.

"I feel... heavy." Slowly grumbled Danny, he felt completely exhausted from his experience, both his parents and Jazz were crowded around him, and in all honesty, he would rather be alone. "I know it's rude, but can I be left alone for a little bit." Lowly mumbled Danny, aware of the fact that his parents looked at one another, before Jack pulled Jazz along with him, as Maddie stayed back for a second, before following them.

Danny Phantom, the unwanted hero of Amity Park was too afraid to continue, after seeing a glimpse of the future, pieces of which he had been seeing ever since he had gotten his powers, and now he was just Danny Fenton, a normal 14-year-old, besides being the Gamer. Icy eyes glazed over as they stared off into space, silently thinking about what he should do next, since being Danny Phantom was off of the table.

"I could always go back to studying to be an astronaut." Idly yawned Danny, feeling heavier than he had felt in a while, his Ghost side had really made a difference in how he felt. "I think I'll just take a week off... I'm sure Mom and Dad wouldn't mind." Weakly chuckled Danny, realizing something sickening about himself at this moment, and he was scared since he didn't know the answer.

Who was he?

What was he?

(Location change)

"He has lost a lot of routes because of that poor encounter, hasn't he?" Interestedly hummed one of the Observants, Clockwork merely rolled his eyes as he watched Danny from his domain, confident in Danny, that he would pull through it. "We shall tell the council that Danny Phantom is no longer active." Idly commented the other Observant, his lone eye widening when he saw Clockwork grimace at him before the old Ghost loudly clicked his fingers together.

"He may be relaxing, but Danny Fenton is far from done. He has no choice in the matter, so don't be too excited." Sadly sighed Clockwork, the screens in front of him whining in protest, as the scenes on them rapidly sped up, many days passing by each second. "Life is but a parade, no matter how many detours one takes, they'll always reach the end if they want to or not." Softly whispered Clockwork, the screen in front of him slowly coming to a crawl showing something that wouldn't be happening for a while at least.

Danny Fenton stood tall and proud, looking older than before, with the hint of a beard growing on his face, as icy blue eyes glowed in confidence, while he floated in the Ghost Zone, facing down someone. Even though the Observants were merely watching it through a screen, they couldn't help but shudder at the aura that both Danny Fenton and the other Ghost produced.

"I've already taken out Dan, who was a perfect 10 on the ectoplasmic scale, why do you think you'll do much better?" Curiously hummed Danny, his black hair slowly rising upwards, as his eyes glowed green with ectoplasm, and two hoops made of energy engulfed the teen. "I guess I can just say this... Phantom Style: Collapsing Star Barrage." Exasperatedly sighed Danny Phantom, both of his fists being engulfed in ectoplasm, and the sheer intensity of it was turning the ectoplasm every color of the rainbow.

"For every action, there's a reaction, when darkness threatens to destroy both worlds, a Hero always rises." Proudly chuckled Clockwork, watching as Danny went from being absolutely still, to rocketing off faster than most could even see.

That's a wrap people! Danny is now suffering from the thoughts of what he could become, and he no longer wants to be a Halfa, which will lead to some interesting things later on. Also, Danny didn't attend Football practice, and if you hadn't read, he'll be out of school for an entire week... I wonder what effects will the Ectoplasmic Suppressants have on Danny?

See ya next time!

SpudLord!
