Shadow x Rouge: Agents in Love
Chapter Nine: At Rouge's Mansion While It Rains
Shadow and Rouge sat on the bench in the Westopolis Nature Park together, the two of them holding hands and taking in the scenery as they tossed bread crumbs to the Flickies that had gathered here at this very spot.
A couple of days had gone by since their double date dinner with Sonic and Amy in Station Square and they'd forgotten about anything else that had happened, even the debate over A.I was nothing more than a minor memory.
Today was supposed to be a bright and sunny day as it had been so far, but little did the two agents know that they'd underestimated the weather and the forecast. That mistake was about to nearly get them good...
One pink Flicky landed on Rouge's shoulder and rubbed its head against the side of her face, feeling happy to have connected with someone. Shadow was nearly startled by the arrival of a black Flicky as it landed on his shoulder, but he took it well.
The nearby bushes shuffled and trio of Ricky squirrels came crawling past while carrying a couple acorns, one rubbed its head against Rouge's leg affectionately before walking away.
A warm and gentle breeze blew through the city, causing a few green leaves to fall off the nearby trees, one landed in Shadow's quills and he plucked it off his head before handing it to Rouge as a little gift, much to the shapely bat's intrigue.
"For me?" She said as she accepted the leaf, "Awww, why thank you, Shadow."
"I didn't plan on this happening," Shadow remarked, "But I figured you'd like it."
"Well, it's no gemstone, but something from a tree is so fun to treasure."
They looked into each other's eyes again and were about to share a kiss when, just then, a rumbling sound directed Shadow and Rouge's attention to the sky and they watched as dark clouds rolled in.
People nearby minding their own business either put up umbrellas or went indoors, within seconds, the sky was full of dark clouds and lightning flashed just as water drops started pouring onto the ground, wetting anything it touched.
"Damn," Shadow grunted, "It's starting to rain, we better find shelter."
"We'll go to my place." The bat said and grabbed an umbrella from hammer-space, she and Shadow stood, unfolding the umbrella and making sure it was big enough to shield them from the rain.
As for the bag of bread crumbs, Rouge closed it and made sure the bread didn't get wet as she held the bag close. Shadow asked her about "her place" and the bat whispered instructions in his ear, telling him to use his power.
"Ok then." The Ultimate Life Form said, he snapped his fingers, "Chaos Control!" A light enveloped the couple, teleporting them to parts unknown. The next thing they knew, Shadow and Rouge were inside the entrance hall of some mansion.
Shadow looked at his surroundings, the place was made from marble and was colored black and white with a few paintings on the walls, paintings that were familiar or that nobody had ever seen before.
"Where are we?" The Ultimate Life Form asked. Rouge kissed him on the cheek and spread out her arms, "Shadow the Hedgehog, welcome to my mansion!" Shadow was surprised, especially since Rouge had never talked about her home before.
Then again, he remembered Club Rouge, Rouge the Bat's personal nightclub. In the times he knew her, Shadow never knew that the bat lived in a mansion. She must've been very rich, even after working with G.U.N for a long time.
Shadow looked outside a nearby window, seeing a grassy green countryside through the rain, then he looked at Rouge as she smiled and winked. "What do you think of my place, handsome?" The bat asked, "Are we impressed or what?"
"Er," The dark hedgehog scratched the back of his head, "I have never known much about your lifestyle other than your fascination with jewels, your services to G.U.N and your nightclub apartment located near Emerald Beach. Are you rich?"
"My entire family is rich." Rouge replied, "I grew up extraordinarily wealthy thanks to my family's history of collecting jewels and often working with agencies, I got this mansion using the jewels I found over the years."
"Do you have a state-of-the-art security system?"
"All rich people have a security system, handsome. I got everything."
"Security cameras, lasers and alarm systems, a couple guards here and there?"
"Yes to the cameras and alarms, no to the guards and lasers."
"Any butlers?"
"No butlers, I'm the only person living here. C'mon, I'll show you around"
Rouge showed Shadow around the house, showing him the living room, the bedrooms, the bathrooms, laundry and the gym as well as the basement.
Near the end of the short tour, the bat showed Shadow the swimming pool, which was outside in the back. Since it was raining outside, Rouge only showed it to him through the window. It was eight feet wide, four feet deep and had a diving board as well as a hot tub near it.
Shadow thanked the bat for the tour and they shared a kiss just as the phone rang nearby, Rouge answered it while the dark hedgehog stood quietly, quietly listening to Rouge's side of the phone conversation as she spoke with whoever was calling.
"So you two are having a rainy day as well?" The bat asked, "That's nice, talk to you later. Bye." She hung up and told her boyfriend that Amy was calling to let her know that she and Sonic were spending time together indoors on a rainy day too.
"Glad to know Sonic and Amy are taking it easy today." Shadow said with a smile, "It's nice to stay in touch with people we know during rainy days." He and Rouge hugged and talked about what they could do while it was raining.
The two had tea together with Rouge making the tea while serving coffee beans for Shadow to eat with his drinks, the fact his girlfriend had coffee beans and a coffee maker was almost a surprise to Shadow since she often went to the coffee shop.
After tea and coffee beans, the bat and the hedgehog sat down in the living room with Rouge putting on a classic vampire movie from the 50s that interested Shadow, since it was dark, mysterious and edgy, something the dark hedgehog liked about himself.
The movie was titled NIGHT OF MUFENG, which was about the dreaded vampire lord Mufeng of vampire legend and it happened to be an old favorite of Rouge next to films such as ISLE OF ZOMBIES or THE BAT GIRL FROM ENGLAND.
Rouge's favorite actor in the movie was the late Jon Colo, who was well known for playing many well-known action movie heroes in the 20th century up until his retirement in the 70s and his passing in the late 1980s.
After the movie, Rouge changed out of her summer sundress, that she'd been wearing since before the rain came, and into a revealing pink tank top and blue shorts that accumulated her figure before she and Shadow made out for a bit.
Sundown rolled around, followed by nightfall, as the rain continued to pour. Around that time, Rouge and Shadow got dinner with the bat cooking steak and carrots while serving wine for them to drink.
Once dinner was cooked, Shadow helped prepare the silverware and plates on behalf of his girlfriend, making Rouge smile as she allowed him to do so. They sat down and ate with Shadow drinking a bit of wine to wash down his food.
In an effort to set the mood, Rouge got out and set up candles while dimming the lights, attempting to make their meal as romantic as possible. Shadow didn't seem to mind since Rouge was a romantic as much as he was.
The gorgeous bat made sure to also bring out a radio set and began playing a romantic song to help add to the mood, the two raised their glasses to each other before taking a sip of their wine.
Shadow and Rouge finished their dinner and cleaned the dishes before heading into the living room, grabbing some blankets while lighting the fire in the fire place. The heater seemed to be turned off, hence the blankets since it felt cold.
Shadow lay on the couch with Rouge beneath the blanket, her hands around his neck while he put his arms around her. The bat planted a sweet kiss on the edgy, dark hedgehog's cheek and Shadow kissed her on the side of her neck.
Both agents lay on the couch in silence, listening to the fireplace and the rain as well as a small bit of purring from Rouge due to feeling comfortable in her boyfriend's arms, knowing he would always care about her and take care of her if she needed him.
With loving smiles on their face, the two engaged in another make out, kissing lightly and rolling around in the blankets while French kissing with Shadow atop Rouge before switching again with Rouge atop Shadow, sharing all the love they had in the world…
