INT. Police Department Conference Room - DAY(Scene 3.3)
The team is sitting around the table, Hotch at the head and the rest of the team around it and phone in the center (for calling Garcia)
Hotch: I don't know why he's using condoms, but figuring out why might be the key to catching this guy before he kills someone else.
Reid looks inquisitive. He stands up and walks over to the board. He taps each picture once before turning back around and walks to the table and presses the call button
Reid: I have a theory- Garcia is it possible to get a copy of the victim's medical records?
Garcia: Because of HIPAA, it's sealed, but give me a hot sec and I can unseal it all like [snaps fingers].
Reid: Great, send it to me.
Hotch: Reid, what's your theory?
Reid walks back other to the board. He alternates between looking at the picture and looking at the team.
Reid: Ok, we've been thinking that these were victims of opportunity, random blitz attacks. But what if they weren't? What if the unsub actually knew them, or at least knew details about them?
JJ: I don't follow
Reid: Maybe the three victims he used the condoms with had some condition that he knew about, like syphilis or
Prentiss interrupts Reid
Prentiss: HIV?
Reid: Exactly. Garcia, did you get those files yet?
Garcia: Yup, and it appears it's bingo for Boy wonder. Eleanor Adams, Sarah Wheeler, and Taylor Great were all HIV positive.
Morgan: Ok, [pause] but how did the unsub know that?
The team looks around at each other, but the scene ends focusing on the picture of the crime scenes, condom wrapper visible.
