Dean and Alyssa were getting ready for Sonya and her wife to arrive. They had invited their friends over as well.
"So, how do you know this woman again?", Brie asked.
"I met her at the store. They just moved here", Alyssa replied.
"And so you just invited her over, and gave her your number?", Nikki asked, rubbing her bump.
"She doesn't know anyone out here. I was being kind", Alyssa replied.
"And what if we don't like her?", Brie asked.
"I'm not asking you too. All I'm asking is that you be nice", Alyssa said.
"Fine, for you", Brie mumbled.
Maddie was making baby Joe laugh as he swung on his swing. Oliver was outside with Dean and the guys.
"Auntie Brie", Maddie said.
"Yes sweetheart?", she asked
"When are you and uncle Roman going to have another baby?", Maddie asked.
Brie giggled.
"Maybe when Joey is one. Give me a break here girl. You sound like your uncle now", Brie said.
Alyssa and Nikki laughed. Someone knocked and Alyssa went to answer it. She smiled when she saw that it was Sonya with a blonde behind her.
"Hi, welcome", Alyssa said, letting them in.
Brie and Nikki came out of the kitchen. Maddie staying close to Brie.
"This is my wife, Mandy. Say hello baby", Sonya said.
Mandy smiled.
"Hi", she waved.
"This is Brie Reigns and Nikki Rollins. My two best friends", Alyssa said, introducing them.
They shook hands, but Brie didn't miss the look Sonya gave Mandy when Mandy shook Brie's hand.
"Come on back so you can meet my husband", Alyssa said.
Sonya nodded and wrapped her arm around Mandy. Mandy kept her hands locked in front of her. Getting to the back, Alyssa waved Dean over. He sent a nod towards the women and pushed his hands into his pockets.
"Sonya, this is my handsome husband, Dean. Baby, this is Sonya and her wife, Mandy", Alyssa introduced.
"Hey", he said.
Sonya shook his hand, but when he went to shake Mandy's hand, she didn't reach out. He shrugged it off and nodded towards the grill.
"Food is almost ready. Drinks are in the cooler", he said.
Sonya looked at Mandy.
"I'm going to go get a drink. If you want to go inside with Alyssa and wait for me, go ahead", Sonya said.
Mandy nodded and followed Aly inside. Dean looked between Mandy and Sonya. Thinking it was weird.
"Is she shy?", Dean asked.
"Mandy? No way.", she replied.
Dean nodded. He introduced Sonya to Roman and Seth.
"So where did you move here from?", Roman asked her before she can go back inside.
"Boston.", she replied.
"What do you do?", Seth asked.
"I own a few night clubs. Thinking about opening one here actually", she replied.
"Why did you pick San Diego of all places? If you don't mind me asking", Dean asked.
"No problem. Mandy, actually. She needed a change of pace.", she replied.
"How long have you two been together?", Dean asked.
"Two years, almost three", she said.
"That's great", Seth nodded.
"How long have you been with your wives?", she asked.
"Me and Lyssa, going to be six years next year, but we've known each other for seven", Dean replied.
"Brie and I a little close to ten years", Roman answered.
"Same for Nikki and I", Seth added.
"Wow. Now I know that if I need marriage advice, who to come too", Sonya smirked.
The guys chuckled.
Mandy hardly moved. Brie couldn't help but notice and watch with curiosity. She watched as Mandy's hands never left her lap unless to take a drink.
Her eyes always on the back door. Small noises made her jumpy.
"Are you okay?", Brie finally asked.
"What? Oh, yeah. Just nervous.", Mandy smiled.
"Nervous? Why? We don't bite", Nikki giggled.
Brie noticed the fake smile Mandy plastered. She had seen this all before.
"She hits you, doesn't she?", Brie suddenly asked, making the room go quiet.
"Brianna", Nikki gasped.
"Doesn't she?", Brie asked again.
"B…", Brie stopped Alyssa.
Her eyes stayed on Mandy.
"You are safe here. We can help you", Brie said.
Alyssa looked at Mandy. Mandy looked about ready to break down. Then she covered it up with anger. Which they knew she would. It was the same thing Aly did.
She stood.
"I will forget you asked me that, for Sonya. She seems to have really liked Alyssa and we don't have many friends here.", Mandy said.
"Alright", Brie said.
Mandy turned and walked out back. They watched as she went over to Sonya and took her hand. Alyssa looked back at Brie.
"What was that?", Aly asked.
"She showed the signs. I was just trying to help.", Brie said calmly.
"You don't think I saw them too. Especially the way she told Mandy to say hi. The way she didn't move and kept looking towards the door.", Alyssa said.
Alyssa sighed.
"I want to help her, but I don't have the mindset right now. My mind is on getting Dolph off the streets. Away from my family", Alyssa said.
Brie nodded.
"I know.", Brie said.
Alyssa excused herself and went up to her room. Dean came in from the back.
"Hey, where's Aly?", he asked, wiping his shoes.
"Upstairs. I think she might be upset", Brie said.
"About?", he asked.
"I noticed something strange between Sonya and Mandy. I thought I could help and Mandy got upset", Brie said.
Dean nodded.
"I noticed it too", he said.
"How?", Nikki asked.
"Sonya told her to come inside. Its like she wanted to tell her what to do, but didn't.", Dean said.
Brie and Nikki nodded.
"Alyssa said she noticed it too, but that she didn't have the mindset to deal with it now", Nikki added.
Dean nodded.
"I agree. She has a lot going on", Dean said.
"Has she said anything about that black car?", Brie asked.
"No.", he answered.
"Do you believe her?", Nikki asked.
"Everyone keeps asking me that, and my answer does not change. Yes, I do. I've actually installed cameras, hidden of course. Next time she says she saw it, I will check them", Dean said.
Brie and Nikki nodded.
"I'm going to go check on my wife", Dean said, making his way up.
He found her in Lizzie's room again. He noticed how it was her safe place right now. He bent down beside her.
"Hi beautiful", he said softly.
She smiled. He touched her bump. He noticed tears welling up in her eyes.
"I want to help her, but I can't right now", she said softly.
He wiped at the tear that slipped.
"And that's okay. I know where your mind is.", he said softly.
She leaned in and kissed him gently.
"When you are ready to come down, we'll be waiting for you", he said.
She nodded. He stood and kissed her forehead. He left the room, looking back at his wife once more before joining everyone in the back.
"Is everything okay with Alyssa?", Sonya asked, walking into the kitchen.
"Oh, yeah. She just needed a moment alone.", he replied.
Sonya nodded.
"Can I help you with something?", he asked.
"Restroom?", she asked.
"Yeah, second door on the left. If you open the first one, it's a closet", he said.
She nodded and walked past him. He didn't want to tell Alyssa, but Sonya rubbed him the wrong way. It wasn't just what Brie and Nikki said. There was something about this woman he just didn't like.
Getting to the back, he noticed his sister and Wade had arrived. He hugged her and sent him a nod.
"Where's Lys?", Megan asked.
"She'll come down in a minute.", he said.
Megan nodded. She and Wade knew not to ask more. Mandy kept glancing to the back door and then down at her cup.
"Wade, can we talk a minute?", Dean asked.
Wade nodded and went around the house. Getting to Wade's car, he made it look like he was looking for something.
"So, I know this is a big favor to ask…", he started.
"You want me to look into those women", Wade said.
Dean nodded.
"Something doesn't sit right with me.", Dean said.
"Megan got the same feeling. So did the twins. I told them I would look into them.", Wade said.
Dean nodded.
"Nikki got some good pictures of their faces. I'll run those too incase nothing comes up on their names", Wade said.
"Thank you. Right now, I just don't trust anyone new around my wife.", Dean said.
Wade set a hand on his shoulder.
"And you shouldn't.", Wade said.
Alyssa was making her way down the stairs. Not noticing the toy on the last step. She yelled as she slipped and fell to her knees.
"Oh my god, are you okay?", Sonya asked, running over to her.
"Um, can you get Dean", Alyssa said, turning to sit.
"Yeah, of course", Sonya replied, running out back, shouting for Dean.
Alyssa placed her hand on her bump. Her baby girl moving like crazy. She found the toy. She could have sworn she put it away with the rest of the toys.
"Baby?", Dean said, rushing to her side.
"I fell. I slipped on the toy, I didn't see it", Alyssa explained.
"Don't move her, Dean. Call Bayley first", Brie said, sitting on Alyssa's other side.
"I feel fine", Alyssa said.
"Just to be sure.", Brie said.
Alyssa nodded as Dean called. He explained to her what happened. She suggested they bring in Aly just in case.
