Forest of Chult

Goblins were a unique demihuman race. Similar to humans, they weren't naturally strong. Humans were victims to stronger races, while goblins were used as food for the monsters higher up in the food chain. They both were victims of life.

But in that weakness, they were able to find power. Humans relied on banding together to take down a single stronger foe, while goblins focused on reproducing. Alone, one person couldn't do much; but if there was a hundred, or a thousand? They could kill almost anything.

The goblins weren't naturally creative, but they were intelligent- being able to copy the humans they encountered. Using the knowledge they attained, the goblins were able to build little huts for homes, and towers using sticks and aligning it with the trees. They were successful in creating a community.

Although, there were still wars and fights between differing tribes for food, territory, and other petty things. It was because of that, one Strong Goblin decided to conquer all the tribes in the forest. He used his strength to subordinate the others, and if they opposed him, he had them executed.

This Goblin became to first Goblin Lord. When he died, the next strongest Goblin became the new Lord and gained all the authority the previous one had. For a century, they kept this tradition going. Since Goblins didn't have long lifespans, multiple Lords were anointed, but through each one of them, new advancements have been made to strengthen their race.

But, it wasn't enough.

Panic ensued as the last of the watchtowers had been torn down. Families and friends were holding each other in their arms, awaiting the inevitable.

For the past century, the goblins lived in peace. They kept to themselves and stayed away from the humans, so why did this beast have to invade now?

Their Kingdom had been flourishing, where even the Goblin Lord didn't have to extinguish the usual uprising Tribe leaders. But this attack happened so fast that nobody could react in time. One minute the day was going perfectly normal, and the next minute, they're being attacked by a wild Dracolisk. A legendary magical beast of the forest.

Dracolisks were rare and only a handful of the Goblins have seen one. A long time ago, one of their great ancestors tamed a Dracolisk and rode it across the world. This story had been passed down for generations, turning into a myth and fairy tale.

The younger generations didn't think too much about those myths, but that came to bite them in their butts. If what they heard was true, then nobody here was strong enough to kill it, not even the Goblin Lord. Their gaze was superior to a Basilisk, and to add on, they had a breathe attack like dragons.

Their only option was to retreat.

The Goblin Lord gathered all his closest aides. They were the tribal leaders who swore fealty to him and helped him maintain order when he came into power. He gave them all a message to spread throughout all their tribes, reaching every Goblin they could.

We're migrating to our homeland- The Great Forest of Tob

Once his message was memorized, his subordinates left to inform every Goblin. The Goblin Lord could only pray to the great founder that his hard work wasn't in vain.

Away from all the chaos, a young dark elf was sitting on a tree branch, watching as the Dracolisk rampaged. It burned down houses and huts and petrified those who stopped to watch.

"So that's what this fella does." The dark elf said happily, now understanding what abilities it had.

Outside the Forest of Chult

Ainz and Naberal spent the night back in Nazarick. Once they retreated to their tent, they used [Gate] to return. But now that it was morning, they had to go back on their 'adventurer'.

If he said it was fun, he'd be lying. There hasn't been anything that went on and while the scenery was nice, it could only entertain him for the first couple of hours.

After spending 10 hours of walking, there really wasn't much to be entertained with.

Momon and Nabe, along with the rest of Swords of Darkness continued till they came across the forest line. When it came into view, they could see a bunch of Goblins and Ogres moving along the lines. They were all looking back and forth, as if they were crossing a street.

"Momon-san, we'll take care of this first wave," Peter said.

They were all eager to see what the newest adventurers could do, but they also needed the practice to get better.

"Is it the usual then?" Lukrut asked. When he got approval, he notched his arrow and shot it through the air. It traveled in an arc, but it missed.

The arrow landed right in front of the goblin foremost.

If they could tell the expression it had, they would see the goblin smiling. It let out a screech and the movement hastened. Goblins and Ogres started charging out of the forest, towards Swords of Darkness.

"I'll take on the Ogres, Dyne, stall the second one till I'm done." Peter ordered.

He charged out to face the oncoming forces. On his way, he swung his sword, killing three goblins in a combo before moving onto the Ogre. Each goblin had some light armor on, so his sword was able to cut through it easily. They also had a variety of weapons.

Some used bows, others had swords. The Ogres all had clubs made out of trees pulled out of the ground. When the first Ogre came into contact, it swung its club down, smashing the ground. But Peter jumped to the side to dodge it. He continued forward and got behind the Ogre to cut his feet, forcing it to crash into the ground.

Once the ogre fell, its life ended, as Peter hurriedly stabbed the back of its head, piercing into its brain.

Lukrut and Dyne were in the back. Once Peter engaged the first ogre, Dyne cast a spell.

"[Twine Plant]"

Vines grew from the ground upwards, coiling the ogre's body and limbs, preventing it from moving. While he did this, Lukrut was shooting arrow after arrow, killing goblins left and right. Each one he shot, pierced a Goblin's head, eye, or heart.

Ninya was watching from afar and aiding both sides. The Goblins swarming Peter was too much for him to handle at once, so he focused his magic on that side.

"[Magic Arrow]!"

From his hand, a group of light projectiles shot forth. Each one pierced a different goblin, killing it instantly.

Peter looked back to Ninya and nodded in appreciation; however, Ninya didn't see this. He switched his focus to Lukrut and helped fend off the Goblins rushing towards Dyne.

The Ogre immobilized by Dyne was starting to break free from the vines, so Peter rushed to finish it off before it could release itself. He ran across the field, slaying goblins with every swing. But his fatigue started to pile up.

Every hit he landed, came slower than the previous one. His arms were growing heavy and his face was pouring sweat. He raised his right arm to wipe his face clear. But-

Just that one moment of delay was enough for one of the goblins to sneak up on him and slash at his back.

"Arghh!" He cried out.

The blade made a clean slash across his chainmail armor, but because the weapon was primitive, the blade wasn't smooth. The goblin's slash was jagged and tore the skin from his back.

Dyne saw this in his peripheral vision and chose to stop controlling the ogre. He looked to Peter and cast a healing spell on his leader.

"[Light Healing]" He called out.

A green light surrounded Peter and closed the wound he had. The injury faded instantly and he was able to continue fighting. All the fatigue he felt, left his body like dirt being washed off.

However, now that the ogre was free, it began pouncing it's way to the group of three. Ninya and Lukrut were busy finishing off the Goblins, while Dyne didn't have any attack spells.

They would clearly be crushed. But-

A large black sword shadowed them right before the ogre could smash them. The sword cut through the tree club and severed the entire ogre's body in one hit. A clean blade remained as the ogre fell lifelessly to the ground.

"Wow!"

"So strong!"

"Amazing!"

The group praised Momon as they were saved. It was unbelievable to witness his pure strength. Seeing him cut the ogre in one hit like it was nothing.

"Nabe, help to clean up the rest," Momon said.

Listening to his instructions, Nabe jumped into the air and activated her magic.

"[Lightning]" She said.

A stream of electricity left her fingers, piercing through 5 goblins and killing them instantly. She did this a couple more times before all the goblins and ogres chagrin forward died.

When the fight calmed down, the group went to the bodies of the monsters, and they started cutting the ears off. Momon noticed that Ninya only cut the left ears, and left the rest of the body untouched.

"Why do you do that?" He asked.

Ninya looked at him with confusion. Then he remembered that they hadn't told them the process of how they get paid for subjugating monsters. He let out an embarrassing smile.

"If you cut the ears on the same side and turn them into the Guild, they'll pay you your reward. Different monsters require different parts. But if you cut parts inconsistently, they won't pay you. After all, if you turn in a mix of left and right ears, they'll think you cut both ears off and tried to cheat them." Ninya stated.

Momon nodded in understand. He really did understand that a specific part was required to get paid, but more importantly, the monsters they get paid for killing have to already be registered to the Guild.

Shit, shit, shit. I don't even know what beast Aura summoned. If she chose one that the Guild didn't know about, then I wasted gold. And if I reprimand her for my mistake, then it'll be my fault when she gets all sad. I can't have that happen, after all, she's only a kid. How old did she say she was? 76? Wow, the difference in aging between humans and elves is a lot….

Wait, wait, wait! I'm going off-topic again… How should I deal with this...

His mind was racing through ideas on how to prove his strength, regardless if the Guild knew what best he killed or not.

"Mmm, what if the Guild doesn't know what monster you killed?" He asked.

"...I don't know…" Ninya replied. "We've never been in that situation before. So we don't know the process they go through when determining its strength."

Great…

Momon was quite conflicted over this matter. Then-

He realized that Swords of Darkness was impressed with his performance not too long ago. What if he replicated that again? He could have Aura chase out a bunch of native monsters and kill them all.

Momon excused himself from the group and went to a spot by himself. Nabe, naturally followed him, leaving Swords of Darkness to take care of dissecting the monsters. Momon messaged Aura.

"[Aura, I have a new thing for you to do.]" He said.

[U-uhh, A-Ainz-sama, I messed up.] Aura said, sounding ashamed of herself.

"[W-What happened?]"

[I-I let the Dracolisk roam around to discover it's abilities like you said to… And it ended up massacring a bunch of Goblin and Ogres nearby]

"[What's the problem then? You aren't hurt right?]"

[No, I'm perfectly fine. But you see… The goblins and ogres that escaped are heading out of the forest… Towards your direction.]

Huh? That's it!? I was seriously worried you got hurt or something, you know. He was confused. But he was also happy, that was exactly what he wanted.

"[Mmm, well it can't be helped then.]"

[Ainz-sama, I failed you. You have to punish me for my mistake.]

Not this again...

"[A-ah, well then… Send the Dracolisk to herd them in my direction. We can still use this for our goal, so I don't consider it a failure. But I guess you can't keep the Dracolisk. That should suffice for a punishment.]"

[Y-Yes! I'll get to it right away!]

After the [Message] ended, Momon was perplexed about how things turned the way it did. He couldn't blame Aura, she was only following the instructions he gave her. But now that he knew she summoned the Dracolisk, he recalled all the information about them.

They were monsters used by mid-level players and had nothing special about them that stood out. Their petrifying gaze was difficult to deal with, and their fire breath could burn players; however, only low-level noobs who didn't have any resistances would die to them. Other than that, they were level 40 monsters with a normal stat growth.

When he looked at Nabe to tell her the plan, they heard a voice shout.

"U-Uh! T-That's A lot!"

He rushed back to see what Ninya cry out about. But when his eyes landed on the forest line, he too wanted to shout.

There was an entire army of Goblins and ogres, numbering at least 50,000, rushing out. Each and everyone was running at full speed towards them.

W-What the Fuck!?

When Aura told him they let some escape, he thought they let a tribe or two go. But no, they let the entire population go. How was he supposed to know the area Aura released the Dracolisk in was the capital tribe of the Goblin Country?

All of the Swords of Darkness stood with their jaws hung low. Was their assault on the earlier goblins the cause of this? They knew that goblins would form large communities, but this was absolutely absurd. Normally the goblins that patrolled the outer Forest were loners and nothing important. But-

Today proved them wrong.

Knowing they couldn't win, Peter asked the question everyone wanted to accept. "D-Do you guys wanna retreat now?" He asked wryly like it was crazy not to. However-

"There's no need for that." Momon said.

"B-but Momon-san, even with your power, there's no way you could take all of them on!" Ninya yelled. She was trying to save them, to not let their ego get him killed. Only a brainless fool would try to fight all of them. But, there was one of those among them.

"Of course not..." Momon said. "...I have Nabe with me."

Nabe nodded at her master's words. She certainly wouldn't abandon him, even though she knew the Goblins and ogres posed no threat.

Swords of Darkness wanted to say something, but they couldn't find the words to. Even though they couldn't see Momon's face behind his helmet, and they thought Nabe was cold, they couldn't deny the resolve in his voice and the conviction in her eyes.

"We'll take on the majority of them, all you have to do is kill the ones that get past." Momon told them, trying to ensure them that everything will be fine. Although he knew they would, he could sympathize that their ignorance filled them with fear. But it was something that had to be done. If Swords of Darkness left and they didn't have any witnesses, it would be such a waste of time.

All that walking the previous day would have been for naught.

There's no way I'm letting that happen!

Lukrut gulped, it was loud and his teammates heard it. "I-if Nabe can stay to fight them, How can I leave such a beauty?" He said, trying to harden his resolve. But inside, a part of him was wondering what Momon and Nabe had to go through to have the solid resolve they did.

"T-that's right!"

"Yuh!"

Ninya and Dyne agreed with him, trying to convince themselves. Peter sighed and had no choice to agree reluctantly. But who could blame him? The oncoming monsters numbered greatly; and if they were all painted blue, one would think that the ocean sprouted out from nowhere.

Thanks, boner dude!

Momon was happy that Lukrut said what he did. Although he knew his reasons, he couldn't' deny that it helped his plans.

"Now then…" Momon unsheathed his swords, spreading them out to his sides. "Show them what a 4th tier Magic Caster can do... Nabe!"

Nabe genuinely smiled for the first time since posing as an Adventurer. For the first time, she would get to bathe in blood, something she wanting to do for the longest of time. All the patience she had, and all the humans she had to resist the urge to cut their throats, broke like a dam. Everything she wanted to unleash on those weaklings was now allowed to burst forth.

Although they were only Goblins and ogres, she would rather it be humans, she couldn't complain. This was like a gift from the Supreme Being himself, telling her to play around.

Not wasting any of their time, she ran forth and headed to the front of the group. Her right arm crossed her body, winding up beyond her shoulder. As she did this, magical energy circled her body and formed around her arm. When it built up and she was ready to use her spell, she released her arm, swinging in a wide arc.

"[Air Cutter]!"

From her arm, an arc of wind cut through the horde, getting a wider range the further it was allowed to travel. Her magic was sharp and severed multiple-layers into the group, killing goblins and ogres of all sizes and ages.

Her one spell killed nearly 5,000.

"...impossible…" Ninya mumbled.

Ninya was a mage herself, and she widened her eyes at such powerful magic. How could this young girl be that strong? She knew 4th tier magic was legendary, but this was unbelievable. Killing 5,000 in one hit sent shivers down her spine.

Momon saw this and chuckled.

"This is only getting started…" He said amusingly to Ninya. He then directed his voice to Nabe. "Show them you're true power!" He yelled, loud enough for everyone to hear.

True Power? How can she get any stronger than this? Everyone thought.

Momon however, was laughing in his heart. Seeing the shocked expressions on their faces was truly funny to him. In his joy, he didn't see the bright smile Nabe had.

If she was smiling genuinely before, now, she was nothing but a bright sunflower. Her usual cold and cruel expression were faded away.

"[Fly]"

She ascended upwards into the sky. Leaving the ground, rising high enough to see the entire army of monsters.

Peter, Lukrut, Ninya, and Dyne all had their eyes focused on Nabe. They completely forgot that they were facing 50,000 monsters that could kill them any moment, and that they were supposed to kill the ones that got past. But that was fine with them. Right now all they wanted to see was the power the Magic Caster would use.

"[Thunderstorm]"

From her finger, a small ball of wind spun and launched into the middle of the army. As it closed the distance, the ball of magic grew and took up more space. By the time it reached the center of the army, it was a full-fledged tornado.

Consuming all of the goblins and Ogres, it started sparkling with electricity. Chains of lightning danced in the midst of it all, jumping from monster to monster and taking their life with it. The spell lasted for 5 seconds and killed 40,000 monsters with it.

Nabe traveled to the middle of the storm and watched gleefully as the goblins screamed and cried in agony. Every single one was killed ruthlessly with their bodies shredded from the raging winds and electricity.

Swords of Darkness, who saw this, trembled when the storm started. But when they saw the aftermath, they didn't know if they went on an acid trip and were seeing imaginary things or if what they saw was real.

This 4th tier magic caster just wiped out 45,000 monsters in 10 seconds. How could this person be real? Each goblin was 1 copper coin, and the ogres were worth 5. If all 45,000 were only goblins, the Nabe just earned them at least 3 platinum coins. That was more than most adventurers see in their entire lives. And that was only the army consisted of only goblins. With all the ogres, there was definitely more.

Despite all the chaos, there was one person who wasn't feeling the same as everyone else- Momon.

W-What!? That was [Thunderstorm]! Why the hell did she use a 10th Tier spell! AaRrRrggGhhhH! After all the hard work we used to build up our image, she chooses to use… THAT!

Momon was panicking and frustrated. There were hundreds of spells Narberal could have used, but she chooses a 10th tier speel. Even if he wanted to come out and straight-up tell Swords of Darkness 'Yeah, so that wasn't a 4th tier spell… It was actually the 10th…' it's not like it'll end well. The New World thought Tier 7 was a mere rumor, how would they react if they learned a young girl could use the highest tier?

Multiple problems and questions that he might face ran through his mind. But ultimately, he decided to go against it and play it off, one of the things he was secretly learning to do since he transported here.

"Hehe, so… that was intense…." He said awkwardly.

"Y-yeah…"

"Mhm…"

"Uhhh…"

"..."

The responses he got were all dry and dead. None of the witnesses could process what just occurred.

Yep, their brains are fried….

Nabe was chasing the remaining 5,000 monsters and finishing them off, not caring about what the others thought. She would enjoy all of this time given to her by the Supreme Being.

As Nabe was going to continue further, she heard Momon tell her to come back. So she did, and she joined the rest of them.

"For that many of them to run out of the forest, there should be something chasing them out, or something that forced them to move. Otherwise, why would that many monsters decide to move now?" Momon said, trying to drive the direction of the conversation and thought process.

But all he got was dead-silence.

Nabe, however, was nodding in certain approval of his words.

Seeing her listen to every word of his, he thought back to his instructions earlier. When he told Nabe to show them her true power, he meant as the 'adventurer', not as someone from Nazarick.

Damn, I got careless and now look… It turned 4 perfectly good witnesses into vegetables…

"W-we need a break…" Peter said. The rest of the Swords of Darkness agreed with him and they all found the nearest rock and sat down. Contemplating what to do, they didn't notice the Dragolisk leave the forest border.

Momon knew this, so he tried to create a scene and emphasize the danger.

"Hmmm, do any of you know what that is? He asked, and pointed to the Dragolisk.

The members of Swords of Darkness shot a glance at it, and they would have panicked if it was 10 minutes ago. But instead, they looked back to the clouds and went back to contemplating.

"Whatever it is, I'm sure Nabe can take care of it." Dyne said.

He voiced what everyone was feeling. Amidst these giants, the four of them felt like tiny ants.

Momon sighed and knew nothing would change their minds. I should alter their memories later…

Knowing that he had to kill this monster, he strode forth as the Dracolisk approached. Momon readied his swords and was prepared to kill the Dracolisk, but as he was about to slice it's head off, he had an idea.

The only reason why I had to kill this was to prove my strength, but Nabe did that perfectly fine... To perfect, to be precise.

He didn't want to kill it if there wasn't anything to gain from it, so he stopped his movement and ordered the Dracolisk.

"Stop."

Despite being disguised in armor, the Dracolisk knew who it's true master was regardless and halted in its tracks.

"What should I do… I don't want to kill it, because it'll be waste… Aha!" Momon mumbled and thought, finally getting a noteworthy idea. "If I have to alter their memories, I'll just add in bits and parts where I stand out and tame you…. That way I achieve what I set out to do, and I get a cool mount as an adventurer." Momon said.

Knowing what to do now, he returned to the group with the Dracolisk, Swords of Darkness looked at it and shrugged their shoulders indifferently.

"Ahh, nice pet Momon-san. As expected of you." Lukrut said.

It was the first thing he said that Nabe liked. Hearing him praise her master, she voiced her agreement. "It's as he says, Momon-sa-san."

Peter, Ninya, and Dyne counted the clouds, unsure of how to respond. After seeing Nabe's magic, they couldn't think of what their lives meant anymore.

Fortunately, this made things easier for Momon. He walked behind the rock they laid against and dispelled his armor. He was wearing his majestic robes and showing his marble skull face. But-

Nobody cared. Swords of Darkness didn't see him, much less change their focus; but if they were too, they probably would say something like 'Ah, Momon-san, you got another pet?'

He stood above them and cast his magic.

"[Mass Target - Control Amnesia]"

Ainz was able to alter all four of their memories perfectly fine. He changed the scene of Nabe decimating an army of 50,000 to her struggling to kill 5,000.

He also showed clips of himself killing dozens of monsters with each swing. To explain the ground and massive amounts of monsters killed, he placed images of the Dracolisk doing it. It explained why the ground was scorched- from his breathe attack- and emphasized Momon's feature of taming it even more.

The last touches he made were of a fight scene between him and the Dracolisk. He basically made it a 30-minute showdown of the two beats each other up, and at the end, the Dracolisk admits defeat and is forced into submission. Before he ended the spell, he made sure to use a potion on the Dracolisk and himself to show why they're all perfectly fine.

Basically, Momon bullshitted everything and could have done that in the first place. So in a way, he was pissed at himself for wasting that time.

Like the flip of a switch, as soon as his spell ended, the four members of Swords of Darkness jumped up and exclaimed their surprise.

"Momon-san! You tamed such a magical beast!?"

"H-how strong can Nabe be if she continues to study at this rate?"

"I knew you were strong, but to slaughter ogres in one hit... That's the skill of Adamantite rank."

"We… We survived. We survived a 50,000 monster attack!"

Everyone was talking happily with each other as if they won the lottery. In a way they did, they didn't die to the army of monsters. None of them could believe the prowess shown by the two new adventurers, and all they thought was how glad they were to have had them join the quest.

"Well, since you did most of the fighting, we'll take care of cutting the ears." Peter said. He got nothing but agreements from his team. While they did get outdone by Momon and Nabe, they were still going to split the earnings in half and didn't want to be dead weight. As iron ranked adventurers, they had to pull their end of the deal.

Momon and Nabe watched from the side as Swords of Darkness happily spend hours severing all the dead monster's bodies. When they finished, they brought loads upon loads of sacks filled with ears.

Momon saw how they couldn't carry everything once they started traveling, and he pulled out and [Infinity Backpack] from the [Infinity Backpack] hanging on his side.

As they dumped the piles of ears, Momon placed them into the empty [Infinity Backpack]. This item was a beginner's item and let anyone store an infinite amount of items inside as long as it didn't go over 50 Kilograms. Most players liked to use this to store items ready to use and had different [Infinity Backpack] for storing different types of items.

Naturally, Ainz was one of those players. He had countless numbers of these items from PKing many players. Although most of it came from when he slaughtered hundreds of the invaders on the 8th floor.

Ninya noticed his unusual item, and how it didn't bulge or expand when he put more ears into it.

"Momon-san, what's that item? I don't notice it getting heavier or larger, even after everything you put into it." He asked.

"Ah- this is a magic item. It's not that rare. It just stores everything I put in it without getting heavier." Momon said.

"W-what!? How can you say that so casually? It must be worth at least a hundred gold!" Ninya freaked out.

"Hm? Really? I don't see why it would be. It doesn't do anything special. Storing items isn't noteworthy."

Ninya gulped when he heard his logic. "...Well, I guess so… but it would be very useful for adventurers. We wouldn't have to struggle holding onto our equipment and items when traveling."

Oh? That's interesting… Should I sell some then? Nah, let those people struggle. It's not like giving them this will keep them more alive. Momon thought. But the idea of finding an item to exclusively sell or have did perk his interest. He knew that he could make a fortune with this World's currency.

But first, he would have to find a way to create it using the New World's resources.

After everything was taken care of and the monsters were all accounted for, Momon, Nabe, and Swords of Darkness headed North. Momon rode his Dracolisk with Nabe in the back, while Swords of Darkness walked behind him- trying to keep up.

E-Pespel

By late-noon, they made it to E-Pespel. The city was different from E-Rantel. It had a wall for the City's defense, but if E-Rantel was described as a Fortress city, then E-pespel would be a Merchant city. The streets were filled with stalls and venues, all selling different items and goods.

Caravans were set up with open sides, showcasing multiple goods from across the continent. Merchants were selling things from the Baharuth Empire and even the City-State Alliance.

But-

As they passed through the crowds, people screamed and panicked upon seeing the Dracolisk. They all thought it was there to kill them, even the guards at the wall were about to attack. It was only after they saw the two people riding it and the adventurer tags they wore, that they calmed down. But even then, they panicked at seeing such a mighty beast conquered by a mere copper plate.

With the chaos in the city, a unit of guards were dispatched to solve the commotion. But when they saw the Dracolisk, they had the same reaction as the guards.

Deja Vu? Momon thought.

Eventually, the city guards regained their sense- just like the wall guards. But this time, they decided it was better to escort the group so further commotions could be minimalized. The last thing they would want is to return to their post, only to be sent out again because another group of families started freaking out.

They walked until they came to the Adventurer's Guild in the city. And the first thought Momon had was It looks the same as E-Rantel. Momon and Nabe jumped off their mount and had the Dracolisk wait outside.

They all climbed the staircase to enter, but Momon looked back and saw the unit of guards surrounding the Dracolisk in fear. They all thought that now that its master was gone, it might start rampaging, so they made sure to turn their backs against it, not looking into those petrifying eyes.

E-Pespel Adventurer's Guild

As the two double doors opened, the 6 people made their way through the room and approached the receptionist. The Adventurer's Guild was busy, as the other teams were coming in to collect their rewards at this time. But the line was quick.

A team would go up, show the receptionist their quest and the required items, and would get paid and leave. This process repeated itself until the next to be helped was Momon's group.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The girl asked.

"We went out to subjugate monsters and would like to collect our reward." Momon said.

The girl looked at their plates, inspecting to see if they killed anything noteworthy. But when she saw the iron and copper tags, she assumed they killed a couple of sewer rats and wanted some copper coins in exchange. Since the line was long, she didn't want to waste much time dealing with these novices and asked. "Did you cut off the required parts?"

"Yes, we did… all of it." Peter said and let out a wry smile, reminiscing of the hours he spent smelling ogre blood.

"Very well then, please place them here." The girl took out a metal tray, about the size to fit a school lunch, and pointed at it.

When Swords of Darkness saw this, they tried their best to contain their laughter. But now and then, a little squeal came out. This confused the girl.

"Is there a problem?" She asked.

"Of course there is!" Blurted out Lukrut. "That's not enough space!" He said it cheerfully, knowing that not even a dozen of those trays were enough.

The receptionist bridged her eyebrows, she thought that these adventurers were just here to mess around and waste her time. Which made her unhappy. Dealing with these types of people was common, but it still frustrated her. Well, two can play at that game; if they were going to mess with her, then she would mess with them too.

"You can't collect your reward unless you show us the parts. And we can't verify the parts if you don't even take it out."

Peter let out a sigh. He knew what the receptionist thought of them. And he too would think the same- none of them were holding large bags of monster parts, and it took him a while for Ninya to explain to him how cool the [Infinity Backpack] was and what it did. So of course this receptionist wouldn't understand.

"Momon-san, could you?"

"Mmm, yeah. But it really isn't enough space." Momon replied, he spoke so the girl could hear too. Unfortunately, she didn't care. She just gestured towards the tray.

She was expecting him to freeze up and realize their plan to mess with her failed, then leave in humiliation. But-

Momon grabbed the sack tied to his waist and took out another sack from it. When he opened the second sack, he started taking handfuls of Goblin and Ogre ears out and placed them onto the tray. In mere moments, the tray was full and he was waiting for a second one.

"Can we get a second one? Or do you have to verify all of this before we can continue?" He asked.

Haha, this is going to take so long. Sorry guys, you'll be in line for a bit.

The girl looked with shocked eyes, seeing all the monsters they slayed. She didn't know how to respond and took out another tray, which Momon filled as quick as he did the first.

Tray after tray, she pulled out more until there was nothing left in the stack. And Momon filled every one of them with ears. The stench of blood was enough to fill the whole Guild with the scent of death. All the adventurers in line complained and the people waiting on the benches started muffling their noses with their shirts, trying to keep the scent away.

Luckily for Swords of Darkness, they spent so much time with the dead monsters, their noses grew nose blind to the stench. That's right, they traveled to E-Pespel without being able to smell a thing. None of them noticed when Nabe farted.

"So, where do you want the rest?"

"There's more? How many monsters did you kill?" She asked with shock and her eyes wide open.

"Umu, about 50,000, it's mixed between Goblins and Ogres." Momon replied casually.

Those who heard this spit out their water in surprise. Even Swords of Darkness, who had seen it all- remembered it all, felt the same shock whenever they heard that number.

"50,000!" She exclaimed.

Momon nodded at her words. Once she saw he was dead-serious, as well as everyone in the group, she left her seat and headed to the staircase.

"Hold on, I'll be back." That was all she said before she left.

The Guild filled with an uproar. How could this nobody copper plate kill 50,000? That was like the entire Empire's army. Although it was only goblins and ogres, that number alone would be enough to take over the city.

Adventurers started discussing who this mysterious warrior was.

When the girl returned she brought back with her a young man. He had spiked blonde hair and looked around his mid-twenties.

"Hello, I'm the Adventurer's Guild Master in E-Pespel. Why don't you come with me?" He motioned for them to follow, and for the receptionist to carry all 20 trays to the meeting room they were heading to.

Once they entered, the Guild Master told them that they could dump all the monster parts onto the table. That way, they didn't need to waste the other adventurer's time and worry about the trays. As Momon pulled out ear after ear, the Guild Master verified the ears and started tallying up how many monsters they killed.

It was silent till he asked what his curiosity ate at him for.

"So how did you manage to do this? It's not every day you see a copper plate doing… well, this!" He opened both his arms and directed at the whole table filled with monster ears.

Dyne let out a laugh, followed by Ninya, Lukrut, and then Peter.

"We went on a trip to subjugate monsters, and we came across all of them charging at us from the forest. We just killed them in response." Momon said, he spoke like he was calling out the weather for the day.

"Haha… well, it does help having a Magic Caster of the 4th tier!" Dyne said. He firmly believed they survived because Nabe was with them.

"4th Tier!?" The Guild Master exclaimed.

"Yup." Dyne replied. The way he talked was like a father proud of his child for accomplishing something great.

"...at such a young age…" The Guild Master mumbled. "Hey, what was it like? Facing that many monsters?" He couldn't help but ask more questions now. The burning sensation of wanting to know more consumed him.

"Well, it was like they wanted to kill us… And the Miss Nabe used her magic like Boom and Kahhh… And Momon-san swung his swords, going swing and slicing ogres in half with every hit." Ninya tried to re-enact it and explain it as best as he could, but it was futile.

The only thing the Guild Master got out of it was 'Nabe can use 4th Tier Magic, and Momon can kill ogres in one hit'. This duo was truly fearsome.

They spent the better part of the hour finishing up counting the ears. But when they got to 25,000, the Guild master looked at the pile and saw they were roughly halfway through it. He gave up and said he would make a deal to pay them double of what the first half was if they could stop counting for the day. He normally wouldn't do this, but if he had to count all the way up to 50,000, he would start growing grey hair.

They all agreed, as whatever amount Swords of Darkness earned was like a bonus- they didn't' do much during the fight. And Momon and Nabe were fine with it because neither wanted to stay in this room for the next 10 hours doing nothing but waiting for the Guild Master.

In the end, the Guild Master promoted Momon and Nabe to Mythril rank and paid them 70 gold coins- more than Swords of Darkness had ever been paid for a quest. And here there was a copper plate, that not only gets this huge sum on their first quest, but also gets promoted to 5 ranks higher. The highest amount of ranks an adventurer was promoted by in the entire history of the Adventurer's Guild. Life isn't fair. And it was right. They received 35 gold coins for being travel buddies. How was that fair? They thought.

As the Guild Master handed them their money, they left the meeting room, and as they entered the lobby area, the doors burst open. A man drenched in sweat panted as he wiped his shoes on the floor mat. If they didn't' know better, they all would have thought it was raining. But it wasn't, so they knew he was running and in a hurry for some reason.

Adventurers turned their attention to the main to hear what he had to say. But-

"Who!... Pant… Whose Dragon is outside!?" He yelled. His voice was full of excitement, fear, and worry.

When everyone heard this, they started to burst out.

"Dragon?"

"What's one doing here?"

"Did someone tame it? Impossible!"

"Hey let's see for ourselves!"

The Adventurers and employees said. But Momon looked back to the Guild Master, who was still there.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you, I tamed a magical beast. Can I register it as a pet or something?"

The Guild Master's jaw dropped, putting two and two together. "Y-Y-You tamed a DRAGON!?"

"Well, no. It's a Dracolisk. Half Dragon, Half Basilisk."

The Guild Master was about to lose it. What's up with this dude!? He didn't want to deal with this anymore so he passed it on to the receptionist who was helping them out earlier.

Since Swords of Darkness already got paid, they parted ways to gather materials and upgrade their weapons and armor with their new money.

Momon and Nabe stayed behind to fill out the papers and have a picture sketched of the Dracolisk. When they finished, it was already night. But when they left the Adventurer's Guild and saw the Guards talking in a panicked tone, Momon inquired for more.

"What's gotten you so shaken up?"

The guards looked at Momon and Nabe like they were their saviors. And they rushed over, flocking the legendary figures. Since they stood outside the Adventurer's Guild for 6 hours, they heard all the gossip and learned that the two adventurers not only tamed a legendary beast, but also slayed an army of 50,000 demihumans.

"Momon-sama! T-there's and Undead Invasion in E-Rantel!

"Please Momon-sama, you have to help them!"

"They're gonna come here next!"

The Guards all voiced their thoughts. While there was a concern for E-Rantel, they all were more worried about what would happen to E-Pespel. After all, it wasn't a fortress city.

When Momon heard this, he and Nabe mounted onto the Dracolisk. "We'll check it out." He said, and they flew into the air, leaving the city far behind.

What's an Undead Invasion doing in E-Rantel!? Isn't Demiurge over there? Why hasn't he informed me about this!?
