Just a little fluff. hahaha.
Anyway, go on.
Chapter Nineteen
"What's wrong?" Tsuna asked as he jogged on his place.
"How come you're not sweating bucket, Kora?!" Colonnello questioned.
"You're slacking off, Colonnello." Lal chastised before smacking the blond.
"Come on, Lazy Tsuna." Reborn urged as he pushed the brunet forward.
"Will they be okay?" Tsuna asked as he ran along side with the hitman.
"They will."
"Juudaime!"
Reborn smirked when they saw Hayato sprinting towards them. The bomber wasn't panting when he stopped beside Tsuna. Tsuna greeted him a 'good morning' that the Italian answered back.
As they go along the road, Tsuna's guardians join them on the jog. The only exception was Lambo who was at home and Chrome who can't join in with her condition. They jogged around the Namimori with Colonnello and Lal. Tsuna was on the lead, taking every routes he can see. Somehow, Kyouya felt grateful for the brunet cause he can patrol even if they're running around, except for the noise the others were making.
Tsuna took a deep breath before rounding a corner. He heard the exclaims of his fellow runners when they saw a road block. Breathing out, he sped up then jumped, going over the wall. The others stopped and gaped at the wall. Reborn just continued and went over it too. But before he disappeared to the other side, he gave a smirk to them.
Takeshi took that as a challenge. He tapped both Hayato and Ryohei before he sprinted and high jumped. Hayato grumbled before jumping after while Ryohei shouted 'extreme' as he follows. Hibari went after before Mukuro did. Amazed, Colonnello and Lal went over too.
On the other side, Tsuna was jogging on his place as he waited for them. When he saw that they're complete, he ran again. Reborn almost groaned. They were running for two hours already, and the kid is still going for it.
"Oi Tsuna!" Reborn shouted as he ran after the brunet.
"Are we playing tag?! I'm in!" Takeshi said as he sprint after Reborn.
"Oi Baseball freak!"
"Extreme!"
Tsuna stopped running in front of Namimori Middle but kept on walking instead. He was fanning himself with his shirt when a he felt a tap on his shoulder. He grinned at Reborn who glared at him. Running isn't a problem for Tsuna. He has a lot of reserved energy he can spend. But he likes how Reborn looks at him in disbelief everytime he exceeds the limit.
"Stop already." Reborn said. "I'll admit defeat. I can make you run forever with your stamina. No need to abuse it."
"We can climb the mountain next time." Tsuna suggested. "And it's okay for me to run everyday. I can bond with my friends whenever we run."
Reborn smirked before giving him a noogie. "Cheeky little-"
"Ow." Tsuna yelped before laughing. "This is Takeshi's stop."
"Eh?" A voice blurted out. Both looked behind them and saw the others. Takeshi looked around before laughing a cheerful one. "Don't surprise me like that, Tsuna. You don't really need to walk me home."
"You usually do it with me, so why not do the same to you." Tsuna chirped. "See you at school?"
"Yeah. Thanks, Tsuna."
"Okay. On Tsuna's express, Hayato's house is the next stop." Tsuna announced as he walked, Reborn in tow.
After Hayato, Ryohei went next. They even met Kyoko who was awake. Then Kyouya came next before the five of them went to the Sawada residence. Chrome was sitting with the children by the porch when they arrived. The girl immediately went to Mukuro who smiled at her. Tsuna smiled too when Chrome called him 'boss' before greeting the kids who gathered around him.
"Kora. We've been running for weeks and he keeps on getting good at it." Colonnello pointed out.
"I'm going to train him with Reborn. You go train Sasagawa." Lal said.
"Ok, kora." Colonnello answered before downing his water.
"We're going, Tsunayoshi." Mukuro bid.
"See you after school?" Tsuna asked. Mukuro and Chrome nodded. "Okay. Be careful on the road."
"Kufufufu. They should be careful of us."
Tsuna smiled. "You're right."
A kufufufu was heard before the two disappeared within the mist.
Tsuna was walking towards the school when his intuition pained him. He became alert. Eyes darting around his perimeter, anticipating attacks. It did come, but before he got touched by it, a man in suit blocked it for him.
"R-Reborn." Tsuna uttered in complete surprise.
"Take him, Colonnello." Reborn ordered.
Tsuna felt himself being carried by the blond man like a sack of rice. "Copy."
"W-Wait. Don't leave Reborn here! I can run on my own!" Tsuna tried to persuade.
"Don't sweat it, Kora." Colonnello replied as he started to ran. "Reborn doesn't need any help. And Lal is there, Kora."
"B-But-"
"Trust them, kora."
"I do trust them! I don't trust their enemies though!"
"You don't have to trust their enemies, Kora. Just relax. They'll be with us later, Kora."
Tsuna made a contemplated face before sighing in defeat. He can't do anything but do what Colonnello said. They went to Namimori Middle. Kyouya was there, leaning on the pillar of the gate. He stood straight when he saw Tsuna being carried like a sack. When Tsuna was brought to his feet, the skylark received a weak smile.
Colonnello watched as Tsuna interacted with Kyouya. He saw a flash of worry on the latter's face when the brunet smiled weakly. He winced when the prefect gave Tsuna a good whack on his head. The sky exclaimed a small 'aw'.
"Omnivore, go to class." Kyouya stated.
"C-Can I wait a little longer? I want to see Reborn before I go." Tsuna asked.
Kyouya's brow raised. "The black carnivore?"
"We- I mean he encountered some problem with Lal-san. I just want to wait and see if he's okay."
"P-Please?"
"Hn."
"Thank you."
Tsuna sat on his heels and stared at the road they were from. Colonnello sat beside him. The latter started to hum a song. It was familiar to Tsuna, making him hum along with him too. The brunet started to sing in Italian in a whisper.
Kyouya leaned on the wall again and listened to the two sang and hum. Although it was unsettling for him to have Tsuna there, not attending class, he understands the brunet's worry.
"What are you doing here?" Tsuna lifted his head to see the owner of the voice. "Shouldn't you be in class already?" Reborn asked again, towering over him.
"You're okay..." Tsuna murmured before sighing in relief. He stood up and dusted his clothes before waving goodbye to them. "I'm going. Thanks Kyouya."
"Hn."
"What happened?" The hitman asked to the military soldier beside him.
"He wanted to wait for you, Kora." Colonnello answered with shrug. "Hibari let him."
"You could've persuaded him to go."
"But I couldn't cause he was worried of a certain hitman, Kora."
"Tsk."
"What happened?" Kyouya asked, taking the two's attentions.
"Tsuna was attacked." Colonnello answered. They watched as Kyouya's hands balled into fists. "Good thing we followed him."
"Those herbivores..."
"Even if you were there, you won't be able to defend Tsuna and yourself." Reborn chimed in.
"You're saying I'm a herbivore?"
Reborn smirked. "Yes."
Tonfas appeared on Kyouya's arms and he aimed it towards Reborn. "I'm gonna bite you to death."
"He's out of your league, kid." A female voice said.
"Lal, kora. Don't provoke the child." Colonnello tried to restraint.
Lal looked at Kyouya and smirked. "I advice you to get stronger. If you want to protect your sky, you might want to train harder. Anyways, let's go."
Kyouya 'tsk'-ed as the three go. He looked back to the building, specifically the window where Tsuna was seen.
'If I can't protect the Omnivore, I can't protect Namimori.'
Tsuna wiped the blood from the side of his mouth. He stared at Reborn who was standing a few meters away from him. Of course, the hitman won't hold back. He promised him a training, and he never break promises.
The moment his friends started to get busy, he knew something was up. When Reborn invited him to the mountains, his head told him it was his time. But instead of feeling okay, he felt pissed. He doesn't get why they need to rile his friends up. They were obviously angry and in self-pity for the past three days. And he knew it was Lal and Reborn's fault.
"Can we stop here?" Tsuna asked as he stood up.
"Why? Giving up already?" Reborn teased.
"No. I'm emotionally unstable at the moment." He answered as he dusted his clothes off.
"You're what?"
"In other words, pissed." Tsuna supplied as he turned around.
Reborn held back a chuckled as he strode towards his student. "About what?"
"What you're doing to my friends with Lal-san." Tsuna stopped walking and looked away from Reborn.
"What? Why are you looking away?"
"Cause I don't want to glare at you." Tsuna answered. "It's bad for a child to give an angry glare at an adult."
"It was necessary. They won't train with their dying wills of we don't make them angry with themselves. And it's for your benefits. The more they work hard, the more they become stronger."
"I-I..." Tsuna sighed. "I understand that. But please spare them a little. They're still teens. Some haven't lived their lives yet."
"You're also a teen, idiot."
Tsuna looked at him and smiled. "Who lived his life already."
Reborn smacked his head upside down. "I'm still alive, Baka."
"Ow."
"I swear you won't die until you gave a good performance as the tenth Vongola boss."
Tsuna stared at him. "You promise?"
"I swear."
Tsuna nodded. "Can you teach me the basic moves? I know I can punch but I'm pretty sloppy when I do it."
"Fine. But I'm gonna beat you up after I teach you."
Days went by. Reborn taught Tsuna about all the basic things he needs to know about fighting. Lal didn't like this kind of method and tried to persuade Reborn to do his usual way, but the hitman defied. Even Colonnello was perplexed at his friend's new way of teaching.
Reborn watched Tsuna pant. The brunet opened his eyes and looked straight at him. Hairs on his nape stood up. He unconsciously took a defensive stance. Tsuna became wilder. A lion like in aura. It's been a week after he taught him the basic things. How to fight, how to defend, how to attack, what to do in case of situations. It was a lot different from the way he tortured Dino in the past. He can't even call this torturing. It is really tutoring.
'What now?' Reborn thought.
Tsuna's gaze steeled, and like a predator, he attacked his prey. Reborn started to dodge Tsuna's fast jabs. It wasn't the usual slow nor sloppy type. He has no openings too. For the first time, he's on defense.
Reborn tried to attack. It didn't go through though. So he thought of different way. He waited for a moment, watched his student's movement properly, before he went to catch the kid's hands. He smirked while Tsuna blinked.
"Did I hurt you?" Tsuna asked.
"No." Reborn answered.
Tsuna nodded. "I'm hungry, let's go for soup."
"We haven't finished training yet." Reborn pointed out.
"Oh." Tsuna murmured. "How many hours left?"
"Five more."
Reborn instinctively jumped back and let go of Tsuna when the latter tried to trip him. Tsuna went on stance, and their spar continued.
"Geez." Reborn muttered as he carried Tsuna on his back. "You're so lucky I'm being merciful."
"But... You're always nice." Tsuna replied, eyes closed as he breathed heavily.
Reborn shook his head and started to walk. Tsuna hugged him by the neck from his back and snuggled close. Good thing the former didn't mind.
They were on fight when Tsuna stopped moving. Reborn thought the brunet took a damage so he went over. Only to see Tsuna nodding his head off out of sleepiness. He whacked him to consciousness, but Tsuna didn't budge. He was too tired to move and stay awake. So the hitman didn't have any choice but to carry the kid on his back.
"N-No..." Reborn jerked his head to his side to see Tsuna frowning.
"Oi Tsuna."
"Not Tousan..."
"Oi wake up."
"Not R-Reborn..."
Reborn halted.
"D-Don't... N-No!... Reborn... N-No..."
"Oi Tsuna. Wake up." Reborn tried call out. "I'm not dead yet."
"R-Reborn... No..." Tsuna whimpered in his sleep.
Reborn's expression became pissed to frustrated. He wanted to squeeze the child to wake him up, but he can't do that. In the end, he settled on a method. He blew on Tsuna's face. On his third blow, Tsuna's rigid and stiff form became relaxed. He sighed in relief as the brunet snuggled closer to him. He continued to walk.
They were nearing the residence when he saw the brunet's guardians. They all looked at their direction. Chrome and Hayato bowed their heads while Takeshi just grinned as Ryohei shouted 'extreme'. Kyouya was glaring at Mukuro who was laughing softly. Lambo was sitting on the pillar, eating his lollipop. Reborn felt Tsuna stirred before a sigh of relief is heard.
"What happened to him?" Lal asked, appearing next to Reborn.
"Tired." Reborn answered. "Won't want to wake him up, Lal."
Lal's hand stopped mid-air. "Why so?"
"This kid is dangerous when sleepy." Reborn answered simply.
Lal huffed and continued to wake up Tsuna. She smacked the brunet's head two times. The teen groaned. It alerted the seven guardians. Takeshi and Lambo signed an 'x' with their arms while Hayato shook his head. But Lal didn't mind their warnings and was about to smack Tsuna again when the brunet suddenly jumped off Reborn's back.
"Thank you, Reborn." Tsuna expressed before yawning.
"Right." Reborn murmured, cautious of the brunet.
"I'm going in." Tsuna bid as he staggered to walk towards the gate.
"Oi Tsunayoshi-"
"Don't dare stop me." Tsuna snapped.
All of them stiffened when Tsuna gave a glare towards Lal's direction. It was obvious that he was really grumpy. Tsuna blinked his eyes and looked away from Lal. He staggered to walk straight with yawns every once in a while. He gave a small greeting to his guardians who answered back with the quietest way they could muster. They didn't move from their spots not until they heard the door opened and a 'thud' was heard. Then a shout of the brunet's name was heard.
Reborn winced a little before he walked past the teens. Takeshi laughed while Hayato shook his head. Chrome and Mukuro looked at each other as Kyouya smirked. Ryohei stared at the door of the house while Lambo jumped down and run towards the house. And Lal... Lal was just standing there, stunned at what Tsuna showed.
"Tsuna is really grumpy when he's sleepy. Or when his sleep is interrupted." Takeshi informed. "He rarely snaps. So it's not good to disturb him when he's tired."
"Even this skylark didn't get away from Juudaime's backlash." Hayato said.
"Shut up, herbivore."
"Aw. The skylark is embarrassed." Mukuro teased.
A tick mark appeared on Kyouya's forehead and his tonfa's magically manifested on his arms. "I'm gonna bite you to death."
"Bring it on." Mukuro challenged as his trident appeared in his hand.
"Extremely no fighting. You'll wake Sawada up. We don't want to see him angry, do we?" Ryohei interfered, successfully stopping the two.
"Why are you here anyway?" Lal asked, crossing her arms. "Aren't you in training?"
"I am to the extreme." Ryohei answered as he zipped up his jacket. "I came here to check on Sawada. Looks like he's fine."
"Me too. Tsuna can be a klutz sometimes." Takeshi replied.
"I'm here to tell Juudaime that I'm going to train." Hayato grumbled.
"Hn."
"Kufufufu..."
"So now that we saw him, we can go back to training. Oyaji is really hard on me these days." Takeshi said as he turned around.
"Master Colonnello is very extreme!" Ryohei shouted as he walked with Takeshi.
"Hey Hayato!"
"What?!"
"Shamal's clinic is on the way, we can drop you there!"
"What do you think of me?! A freaking kid?!"
"No! An octopus head to the extreme!"
"You bastard-"
"Kufufufu. Let's go Chrome. I don't want to see a little skylark."
"Yes, Mukuro-sama."
"Pineapple herbivore, I'll bite you to death!"
Lal watched the group of teens go. A frown is still visible on her lips. She looked at the house on her side.
'They all came here just to see him?'
