The room was beautiful in Hermione eyes. The dark brown wood that looked almost black was nicely polished and looked brand new. The dark green walls with silver designs. When you first enter your meeting place is a sitting place with tables to do homework or read. Bookshelves surrounded the area filled with books from all years plus some. As you get further in you step down into the lounge area. Black couches and chairs with green and silver pillows sit facing a fireplace. On the side wall of the lounge were all descendants of Salazar Slytherin. As she looked closer she realized that she was on the wall. A smile formed on her lips.

On the floor lay and huge green and silver carpet. There was glass that let you see the black lake from underneath. You could see the magical creatures like giant squid, grindylows and merpeople. It didn't let amuch light in but the light from the fireplace and the candles in the ceiling reflected it making it look beautiful. This common room had to be at least twice as big as the Gryffindor if not more. She was in awe of this place though it was a little cold for Hermione's liking but she wasn't going to complain.

During this time Flora Carrow had come down from the 7th year dormitories and found Hermione standing in the common room. She half smiled and half smirked at the girl.

"There you are Granger. Glad to see you're here early. The 4th year common room and dorms are there. Malfoy should be awake to greet you and help you settle in this morning. Most of the 4th years aren't morning people." she said leaving the common room.

Hermione made her way to the door and mumbled Gryffindor's stink. The door opened and Hermione once again walked inside. It was a mini version of the main common room. The only difference was the staries leaving up to the boys and girls dorms. The bloodline of Salazar Slytherin wasn't in here. The last difference was another portrait in the room that had a three headed snake.

Draco Malfoy had been sitting on one of the chairs reading a book. "Granger it's nice to see that you're awake and a morning person. No one else is so usually up until a lot later. I'm here to help you settle in this morning before breakfast. Professor Snape says that your new robes should be here later today. You have all your things right?"

"Of course I do. I just skrank them and put them in my pockets. I wasn't going to be walking around the school like an idiot trying to carry everything."

"Alright. Then let's put your stuff in your room. I heard the portraits and paintings saying that the heir of Slytherin gets their own private dorms. Let's get you inside your room. Everyone in Slytherin is happy to have you and most can't wait to meet you."

"Really? I thought most of you hated me anyway."

"Granger. I know we haven't treated you the best but you're a member of Slytherin now and we treat each other like family. So let's put the past behind us and start again. What do you say Hermione? Friends?" Draco said while he stuck his hand out.

"I guess you're right. We haven't been nice to each other and since I've been starting a new with a lot of people in Slytherin it's only fair to give you a chance as well Draco. So friends." Hermione said while putting her hand out and the two shake on it.

"Now that we're good your room is right behind this portrait." The two walked up to the three headed snake looked at Hermione with its head tilted.

"So you're the heir of Slytherin. It's nice to finally meet you. You do not need a password for this door. All you need to do is talk to me in parseltongue you may enter."

"Wait, you can talk?!"

"Yes my dear and it seems you can understand me and talk back. You are a true heir of Slytherin. I welcome you."

"Ture heir. What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means you are a pureblood or at least a half blood but from the power that's coming off of you, you must be a pureblood. As you may know Slytherin has never had a muggleborn and that's because we don't want any of their blood getting mixed in with ours. Some lines of Salazar have come from mudblood's but because they don't have magical blood they cannot speak parseltongue and therefore are considered not an heir and cannot be sorted into Slytherin. Only purebloods can unlock the true powers of Slytherin and you my dear might be the first one to do so in a very long time. I expect great things from you."

Hermione just looked at the snake like it was crazy. The portrait swung open to reveal the grandest bedroom Hermione had ever seen. It was huge. The same green and silver throughout and the dark color furniture. Everything looked so expensive that Hermione was afraid to touch anything in case she broke it.

"Glad to see you like the room. Us purebloods deserve the best."

"Wait. how would you know that i'm a pureblood?"

"You're an heir to Slytherin. Most Slytherin's are purebloods or come from pureblood lines. There are some half-bloods but they come from the sacred 28 so they are considered pure."

"No that's not what i'm talking about. I find it weird that you're so welcoming when you hated me before all this happened and now you're not surprised. It's almost as if you knew who I really was. You know who I am. I'm guessing everyone does. That's why you're all being nice to me. It's because i'm not a mudblood Granger anymore. In your eyes I'm pureblood Lyra. Heir of Slytherin."

Draco was shocked. He had made sure to play it so she wouldn't have noticed but then again she was the brightest witch of your age.

"I know this looks bad but you are correct. I'm not going to lie to you. I found out who you really are and I was so happy to finally have you back. This might sound weird but were cousins. We grew up together before the order took you away. They killed your parents then came back for you. They took you then told us you had died. When I found out that you were really her I was relieved, happy, and angry."

"You think your emotions are everywhere. I'm the one that has to go home to abusive parents that don't care about me and my so called friends are only using me. Now I find out that my whole miserable life that I'm this pureblood princess. My life has flipped upside down. I don't know who I am anymore."

"I'm sorry. I don't know how to help you but I'm not lying and yes the rest of our year knows but younger and older years don't but they're going to find out. I wish I could take back all the pain I've caused you but I can't. Do you remember anything from the age of 7 or younger?"

"Why does it matter?!"

"That's when you were taken away. We were playing inside the manor and members from the order of the phoenix and auror's came and took you. Mother and father did everything they could to stop them but they weren't able to. All the pureblood families did but a week later they came back and said you were dead. All these years we've all thought that they had killed you but you're alive. They took you, did something to your memories and left you with muggles."

"How can I trust you? You want me to trust that everything you are saying is true. It already feels weird being in Slytherin and now i'm talking to someone who has done nothing but bully me. Now I find out that the only reason you guys have stopped is because I'm someone you knew from childhood. I should have known none of you wanted to be my friend for real."

"That's not it at all. Look at it from our perspective. We lost someone that we considered family, blamed ourselves for not being able to protect you, now to find out that you're alive. In the common room for our year we have the necklace that your mother wore. You wore it a couple of times and it was the prettiest thing to you. We keep it here so everyday it reminds us of you."

Hermione for the first time looked over at Draco and saw that he was crying. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled like that. It's just a lot to take in at once."

"Yeah i'm not surprised. We haven't been friends and all of a sudden this hits you. I know you haven't exactly accepted all this yet but I hope you really do believe me one day."

"I don't remember" Hermione mumbled and Draco barely caught it.

"What?"

"I don't remember anything when I was younger. The first memory I had was when I saw 8. I asked my parents or adoptive parents and they said it was because I had had an accident and couldn't remember many things. They said the only reason I remembered how to read and write was a miracle. There were also no pictures of me or my so-called mom being pregnant with me."

"Do you remember anything?"

"Not anything clear but recently i've been having these weird dreams and it feels like i've seen it before but I can never catch anything. I just know the places but can't remember them. Do you think there is a chance I'll ever get my memories back?"

"I don't know but I won't give up. You're having some kind of flashbacks there's still a chance for you to recover them."

"I'll leave you to it, Mal-Draco. Let's keep this in between us for now. I don't know how I feel about everyone knowing but I don't have a choice but this conversation can stay between us. For now at least lets keep this between us."

"Ok. I'm going to let you do your thing and explore the room more. I'm going to wake everyone else up and get them started. Someone will come up and get you when we're going to breakfast." Draco said with a genuine smile. He made his way out and closed the portrait behind him leaving Hermione to her thoughts.

Hermione was lying on her bed thinking about how just a few weeks ago she was lying in the girls dorms covered in bruises being treated like she was nothing to now laying in her own private dorm in Slytherin being tried like a person.

She took a closer look around the room. Everything was high class or top of the line. Nothing in the room looked cheap. The king size bed was so soft. It had at least 12 different pillows with different sizes, shapes, and styles. Some were soft while others were harder. The sheets felt like silk and the comforter was so warm. As she lay there she felt like she was in heaven.

Hermione started to fall asleep when a house elf appeared somewhere in the room scaring Hermoine.

"Hello Dobby is here to assist you with anything that you need."

"Dobby?" Why are you here? Like in my room?"

"Well Dobby has been asked to be your personal house elf. I am here to assist you with anything that you need. Doumbledore has already made a bond between us so now Dobby is your personal house elf."

"Dobby you know you don't have to do anything for me right? I might not understand why you like serving people and I don't understand it but I can give you clothes so you can be free."

"No thank you Hermione Granger. Dobby is happy to have such a wonderful mistress that he will happily serve you. Is there anything you need done right now?"

Hermione smiled at Dobby. He had always been so helpful to her and was there for her whenever she needed him. He had seen how she was treated by everyone and in a way it reminded him of how he was treated with the Malfoy's. He didn't understand how Harry could treat her like that. She had saved him and helped him with everything and he didn't do the same for her.

When Dobby had heard that Hermione would need a house elf he immediately took the job. He knew of Doumbledore's true intentions. He wanted Dobby to spy on her and keep her in the dark about the truth. Dobby knew that both sides had their faults but which one was worse he couldn't tell.

All he knew was that he was going to protect Hermione Granger and Lyra Silver with his life. Harry might have freed him but Hermione/Lyra held a special place in his heart.

"Well Dobby if you don't mind could you put my belongings away while I take a closer look around the room?"

"Of course Hermione. If you need anything else you know how to summon me."

Hermione nodded in acknowledgement towards Dobby as she reluctantly got out of the bed. The first door she opened was a huge walk-in closet. There were rows and rows of places to hang clothes on either side. The back of the closet revealed a medium sized room with shelves, open cubbies, and other places to put shoes, julrry, and any other accessories you would have. The whole thing was beautifully decorated as everything else was. She walked back into the bedroom where Dobby was finished up. Hermione then went into the bathroom and it there was no surprise it was just as grand and rich looking. It was a full bathroom. It had a huge shower and a separate huge bathtub. There was a double vanity and a toilet that was all top of the line.

Hermione now rolled her eyes. She knew that Slyhterin's prided themselves on their pureblood status and money but this was ridiculous. The same goes for the small sitting room, small kitchen, and small dining table with chairs. Hermione went into the sitting room and grabbed a book from the bookshelves and started to read.

About an hour later Hermione heard someone knocking at the door and could hear people talking. Hermione sighed and saved her place in the book before placing it down on the coffee table. She walked to the door to see the girls waiting for her.

"Hey Hermione. We're ready to go down for breakfast if you are."

Hermione nodded and followed the girls. They had met up with the guys and made their way to breakfast.

"So Hermione, how are you liking Slytherin so far. I know it's only been an hour or so but are you liking it here so far?"

"So far yeah I have. It's different from Gryffindor but in a good way. I'm actually able to have peace and quiet. It's also quite nice how you guys do the rooming and common rooms here. A lot bigger and better than Gryffindor."

"How is it done in Gryffindor?"

"Well one major difference is there is only one common room for everyone. All years have to fit in one common room and it's as big as the common room each year. You know the second common rooms you guys have. The other difference is that the dorms are closer together so usually you can hear the other students through the walls if you don't put your own charms around to block them out."

"Wait, you guys share one small common room? How is that even possible."

"It's not. If we were all in the one common room we would be squashed so most of the time a couple groups of people would be in the common room while the rest would be somewhere else around the castle."

"Wow. We thought the castle had been equal for everyone but then again we Slytherin do deserve the best." Draco said with a smirk.

Hermione once again rolled her eyes at him. "I thought the same thing as you. That all the houses had the same arrangements. Gryffindor seems to have had the same furniture since it was first built or that it hasn't had many updates but looking at the Slytherin common room it looks brand new and much more expensive."

"We update it whenever we want. Having the same furniture isn't our style. It gets boring looking at after a while plus it's nice to have up to date furniture."

The rest of the way was filled with small talk and Hermione couldn't help but smile. She didn't care that people had stopped to look at them weirdly. She was the happiest she had been in such a long time. For once Hermione had felt safe and happy and she wasn't going to let these people ruin it but of course people had other plans.

"HERMIONE" yelled Ron and Harry as they came running towards her, catching the attention of the Slytherin's.

This wasn't going to end well.

Nope, not at all.
