Chapter 9- A Ruff Day
An hour has passed. Ryder and the pups decided to play a game.
-Ryder: I spy with my eyes something...pink.
-Rubble: That vase!
Rubble points to a pink vase sitting on a small table.
-Ryder: Nope.
-Skye: My collar!
-Ryder: Nope.
-Zuma: Is it Rocky's tongue?
Zuma points to Rocky, which had his tongue out quietly panting.
-Ryder: No.
-Marshall: This is a hard one Ryder!
-Chase: Oh! Is it Skye's eyes!?
-Ryder: Yes, it is!
-Rocky: I can't see how someone could have found that out.
-Rubble: (to Rocky) I can see how Chase figured it out.
Rubble and Rocky started laughing.
-Chase: Rubble, can you quit teasing me and Skye. We're just friends.
-Ryder: For now anyways.
The pups looks at Ryder.
-Ryder: Did I say that out loud?
Everybody except Chase and Skye laughed.
-Ryder: Hey! I see Jake and Everest arriving!
Jake and Everest pulls in the driveway. The pups run outside to greet them. Chase was lagging behind, stopping at the door a few feet away. Ryder bends down and pets Chase.
-Ryder: I'm sorry that we mess around with you Chase. But we know that you like Skye. You need to tell her.
-Chase: I know I need to Ryder, but I can't get myself to.
-Ryder: I would love to help, but something like this doesn't concern me. Take your time and tell her when you are ready to tell her. Okay?
-Chase: Okay.
Ryder catches Skye listening to the conversation behind the door. When Skye realized that Ryder noticed, she moved toward Jake and Everest, trying to act like she wasn't listening. Ryder just smiles.
-Ryder: Lets greet Everest and Jake.
Chase throws away his thoughts for now and looks at Ryder.
-Chase: Okay Ryder sir.
Chase and Ryder walks out of the cabin and says hi.
-Ryder: Hi Jake and Everest, you need any help?
-Jake: No, I can handle it.
Ryder watches Marshall secretly give his pup treat that he didn't eat to Everest. Everest smiles and eats it. Then Everest starts to talk with the rest of the pups while Jake brings in the groceries. Ryder noticed that Jake was trying to hide one of the bags. He successfully did since Ryder didn't find out what it was.
Jake put up the rest of the groceries and sat down in his chair in the living room. Ryder stood by the fire and the pups layed on the rug infront of the fireplace. Ryder throws some wood in the fireplace.
-Jake: So Ryder, did you and the pups find any clues outside?
-Ryder: Chase and Marshall found footprints leading from the road to a few trees outside. We, actually wanted to know about where you and Everest was when the kidnap happened.
-Jake: I was in bed at the time. I woke up from hearing someone yelling, so I ran outside and saw three people carrying Everest to a truck on the road.
-Ryder: How did you know that they was leaving Adventure Bay?
-Jake: Well, it was pretty much a guess. I seen their license plates and noticed that no one around here had similar plates, so I guessed they came from far away.
-Ryder: So what about you Everest?
-Everest: I was sleeping in my pup house intill I woke up hearing some rustling from some trees. I walked to the sound and the next thing that happened was someone grabbing me. I tried to break free but I couldn't. It was scary.
Marshall stands up and runs outside.
-Skye: Marshall?
Ryder wanted any other information before turning his thinking to Marshall.
-Ryder: Was there anything else Everest?
-Everest: Uh, no. You know the rest.
-Ryder: Thanks for the information.
Ryder runs out the cabin to look for Marshall. Marshall was spotted beside his truck looking away from the cabin. Ryder moves over and sits down beside him, laying his hand on Marshall.
-Ryder: I know why you ran.
Marshall doesn't say anything.
-Ryder: It was probably best for me to talk to her alone instead of right behind you, I see that now.
-Marshall: I just want to be alone Ryder.
-Ryder: ...I understand.
Ryder stands up and, thinking of a way to make his pup happy again, scratches behind his ear. It doesn't do anything. Ryder frowns and walks back into the cabin.
-Rocky: Why did Marshall run like that Ryder?
The pups huddle around Ryder who just stepped in.
-Ryder: He just wants some alone time right now.
-Chase: Would he not just walked out instead of run out if he wanted some alone time?
-Ryder: Uh, maybe he wanted to be alone as quickly as he can.
-Zuma: But why Ryder?
-Ryder: Pups I, don't know why he wants to be alone. But let him be alone.
Chase wasn't sure if it was how Ryder said his sentence, but he was getting a little mad, thinking Ryder is hiding something. Ryder never hides anything from them, except for things that they didn't ask about. But by now they asked Ryder everything that they wanted, and Ryder never hid any details from the question.
Jake walks in the living room after he got himself a drink.
-Jake: What happened with Marshall?
Ryder walks up to Jake.
-Ryder: (whispering) Marshall ran from hearing Everest explaining how she was kidnapped.
A few pups overhead Ryder.
-Chase: So you did know why.
Ryder spins around to see the pups staring at him.
-Ryder: Yes I did, but you all don't need to know.
-Chase: We all know about how Marshall likes Everest.,.
-Everest: Huh?
-Chase: .,.And since we do we shouldn't hide anything like why he ran.
-Ryder: Chase, no one needs to know how someone else's relationship is going...
-Chase: But if it is our friend than we should know. We can help with whatever reason.
-Ryder: If he didn't tell any of you before than he didn't want you to know. It is find to keep secrets.
-Chase: No one should be keeping secrets Ryder!
-Ryder: No one really should but sometimes it is best to!
-Chase: No it's not Ryder!
-Ryder: Stop being nosey Chase!
Chase didn't realize he was being kind of stupid at the time, so he continued.
-Chase: I'll be nosey all I want!
-Ryder: It is not going to end well if you do Chase!
-Chase: People shouldn't keep secrets!
-Ryder: Ah, do you really believe that Chase!?
-Chase: I've been saying it over and over again!
-Ryder: Well then, why don't you say your secret then!
-Chase: Huh!?
-Ryder: Tell all of us your secret Chase! She is right here anyways!
-Chase: Uhhhh?
-Zuma: You brought this to yourself, dude.
-Chase: Shut Up Zuma!
Jake walks in the living from the kitchen but immediately turns around and heads back to the kitchen.
-Ryder: If you won't tell her than I will!
-Chase: You Better Not!
-Ryder: Hey Skye!?
Chase bears his teeth, growling.
-Ryder: Chase has had a crush on you for a long time now!
Chase flings himself to Ryder trying to attack, but was stopped in the air. Ryder was grabbing his neck and held him dangling in the air.
-Ryder: See what happens when a secret was told.
Ryder squeezes Chase's neck, close to choking him.
-Ryder: It sometimes doesn't go well with others. Fights will happen, things are told. Sometimes it is best to not be nosey.
Ryder releases his grip and Chase falls to the ground.
-Ryder: This is why secrets shouldn't be shared. It wouldn't be a secret if it was.
Chase, knowing he lost the arguement and noticing he was acting selfish, walks over and sits on the chair, trying to be alone. The rest of the pups decide to lay on the rug, dodging both Ryder and Chase. After hearing the shouting has stopped, Jake walks in.
-Jake: Where is Everest?
-Ryder: It is not going to end well if you do Chase!
Everest knew that this is not going to end well, so she quietly steps outside.
She finds Marshall laying on the ground beside his truck, looking at he horizon. Everest lays down behind Marshall with her head resting on his side.
-Everest: Why did you run like that Marshall?
-Marshall: I...was listening to you explaining the kidnapping to Ryder.
-Everest: And you couldn't stand how it sounded?
-Marshall: Yeah...So why did you come outside?
-Everest: Two reasons. One was that I wanted to know what was wrong with you and two, Chase and Ryder started to argue.
-Marshall: Started to argue? I better see how they are doing.
Marshall starts to stand up but Everest holds him down.
-Everest: I would leave them alone intill they calm down.
-Marshall: I can still hear them arguing. I think I should try to stop it.
-Everest: If you do then you will get yelled at.
-Marshall: Yeah...Wait, did you say that so I actually won't get involved or so you can still lay your head on me?
-Everest: Mmmm, both.
A minute pass, the arguing inside has stopped. Everest sighs happily and jumps on top of Marshall, holding both his hands down.
-Everest: We can go inside now if you want.
Marshall flips Everest off of him and jumps on her, holding her down.
-Marshall: I don't here any more shouting, so we can.
-Everest: Then lets.
Marshall and Everest walks inside the cabin.
-Jake: Where's Everest?
-Everest: Right here!
Everest walks in with Marshall.
-Jake: So you convinced him to come back in?
-Everest: Well, he convinced himself. I just sped up the convincing.
-Jake: Whatever you did, good job.
Jake hesitates to pet Everest, thinking of what she could have done to convice Marshall and thinks if he should be even touching her, But eventually pets Everest on the head. Even Jake noticed the connection between Marshall and Everest. Meanwhile, Marshall walks over to the other pups.
-Marshall: So, what did I miss?
-Skye: A little fight but it passed.
Marshall lays beside Zuma and Skye on the rug.
-Marshall: Tell me all about it.
-Skye: Well...it kinda involves you.
-Marshall: Another reason to listen.
-Skye: Well...
-Rubble: We wondered why you went outside. We asked Ryder, which lied at first, but told us. Chase started to argue with Ryder for lying but stopped when Ryder told about one of Chase's secrets.
-Marshall: What was the secret?
-Rocky: It wouldn't be a secret if you knew, now would it.
-Marshall: I, guess not.
After some silence Marshall walks over to Chase, which had his head buried in the chair he layed on.
-Marshall: Hey Chase.
Chase pulls his head out of the chair and looks at Marshall.
-Chase: Hey Marshall, what's up?
-Marshall: I heard you argued at Ryder.
-Chase: Well you heard right.
Chase pushes his head back into the armfold of the chair.
-Marshall: You don't really want to talk, do you?
-Chase: (voice muffled) No.
-Marshall: Alright then.
Marshall walks back to the group.
-Ryder: Sorry pups, but it is time to go back to the lookout.
The pups sighs but they all get ready to leave. Ryder and the pups says goodbye to Jake and they hop in their vehicles. Everest is standing at the door still saying goodbye to Jake.
-Marshall: Goodbye Jake! Goodbye Everest!
-Everest: Why are you saying goodbye to me?
-Marshall: (confused) Because you live here and...Oh wait.
Everybody laughs since Marshall forgot that Everest is staying at the Lookout. Everest hops in her vehicle
-Everest: Forgetful Dalmation.
-Marshall: Lovely Husky. Ahh! I mean...
Everybody laughs again, with Skye and Everest saying 'aww!'. They all leave and drive back to the lookout.
Unknown Building
Two people sits in a room. The room has only one window, letting the afternoon sun shine in. Each person was sitting at computers, talking to each other.
-?: So, did you find someone yet?
-2nd?: I talked to the military and they said that they need evidence that they can talk.
-?: Pictures doesn't work for them?
-2nd?: They said they need more physical evidence. Like a video.
-?: It can't be too hard to hack a camera or film the dogs ourselves. I need to catch those dogs.
It was 8:54pm when Ryder and the pups arrived at the Lookout. They all parked their vehicles at their designated spots, with Everest parking in the grass on the left, then they all took the elevator up. When they reached the top Ryder immediately started to make dinner. The pups turns on the tv and starts to watch the ending of Apollo.
-Ryder: Chase, can you come hear for a minute?
The pups looks at Chase, which was in the middle of the group. He stands up and walks over to Ryder with his head down, thinking he and him is going to have a serious talk about the argument. Chase understands why. He was kind of a douche.
-Chase: Yes Ryder?
-Ryder: Can you help me with making you and the other pups food?
-Chase: (surprised) Oh, uh, sure.
Ryder turns to face Chase.
-Ryder: You sound a bit surprised.
-Chase: I thought you called me over to discuss our argument.
-Ryder: No...Unless you think we should discuss it?
-Chase: Not really. But I do want to say i'm sorry for shouting at you.
Chase holds his head and tail down in sorrow. Ryder bends down at eye level and lays his hand on Chase's shoulder.
-Ryder: And I want to say i'm sorry for shouting at you. You, being the leader of the pups and me, being the leader of all of you, are the least of the ones that should be arguing.
Chase waits to hear some more but Ryder doesn't deliver.
-Chase: Are you also going to apologize about telling Skye how I feel about her?
-Ryder: Chase, I think I helped you with that.
-Chase: What do you mean?
-Ryder: You wasn't going to tell her and she wasn't going to tell you, so I told her.
Chase thinks for a good long minute before saying something.
-Chase: Well Ryder, you know what your doing so I shouldn't argue.
Ryder stands back up.
-Ryder: Thanks Chase, but you still should tell her. It is not like she would believe me.
-Chase: Since the truth is out I guess I won't be as shy.
-Ryder: There you go Chase...Now about why I called you over.
Ryder lays an opened bag of dog food on the floor.
-Chase: Chase is on the Case! Of the mysterious unfilled bowls!
Ryder laughs and Chase drags the bag of dog food to the dog bowls and fills each one up. Ryder dumps some water in each and stirs each bowl.
-Ryder: Dinner is ready pups!
The pups, which was watching the credits of the Apollo the Super Pup show, walks over to the dog bowls and chow down on their dinner. After a few minutes they all finish. Ryder, which also finished his sandwich dinner, picked up the bowls and cleaned them.
-Ryder: Alright pups, it is time to go to bed.
-all pups: Okay.
-Ryder: Also pups, you can all sleep in your pup houses for now on.
-Zuma: Why did you want us to sleep up here in the first place?
-Ryder: Just wanted you all to be more protected.
Before the pups take the elevator down they say goodnight to Ryder, which in return said goodnight back. The pups reach the bottom and they all head straight to their beds, to tired to talk or hang around. The pups get into their pup houses, closes the door and falls asleep. Except for Chase.
Even though he could fall over from exhaustion, Chase doesn't go to sleep. He is too deep into his thoughts. He thinks about what happened today. He thinks about what he might dream of if he falls asleep. He even thinks about what could happen in the future. Chase daydreams for thirdy minutes intill he hears a pup house door open. He slowly opens his door and sticks his head out to spot Everest walking out of her doghouse. He watches Everest tip toe to a red puphouse and knocks on the door. After a few more knocks the door opens, Everest talks a little bit, and then walks in the house, closing the door.
-Chase: (whispering) I didn't think Marshall would be such a chick magnet.
-Skye: I guess opposites retract.
Chase hits his head off the top of his dog house from being spooked.
-Chase: Oww!
Chase sees Skye right beside his doghouse, sitting and watching him.
-Skye: (laughing) Sorry for scaring you.
-Chase: Skye? What are you doing here?
-Skye: I couldn't go to sleep. And when I heard a noise I decided to check it out. Seeing that you already noticed the noise I sat beside you.
-Chase: Okay, but why beside me?
-Skye: You are the only one up, and if the noise was something dangerous I would have someone close to help.
-Chase: That makes sense.
A moment of silence appeared intill it was interupted.
-Chase: If your waiting for me to say or do anything, I got nothing.
-Skye: (smiling) What about you walk me back to my puphouse?
-Chase: I can do that.
Chase walks over to Skye's puphouse, Skye following. He resets her bed and wipe off the dust and dog hair.
-Chase: Your puphouse is ready to sleep in again. And as a bonus it was also cleaned.
-Skye: Chase, your too nice to all of us.
-Chase: It is better to be nice than to be mean. Plus, it's just how I am.
Skye raises an eyebrow.
-Skye: If I didn't know any better you care about me the most.
Chase starts to blush.
-Chase: Well...uh...It might seem that way.,.
-Skye: Because it is that way.
Skye walks in her puphouse and lays down. Chase puts her blanket around her.
-Chase: Goodnight Skye.
-Skye: Goodnight Chase.
Chase pushes the door down to close it but was stopped by a foot. Skye pushes it back up.
-Skye: Chase?
-Chase: Yeah Skye?
-Skye: When you and Ryder were arguing at Jake's cabin, and Ryder told what he called your secret to.,.
Skye stopped her sentence when Chase held up his paw to her mouth.
-Chase: Why don't we talk about this tommorrow? Right now we should be asleep.
-Skye: (nodding) Right.
Chase walks away to his puphouse. Skye closes her door and lays down, falling asleep.
Chase lays in his puphouse, closing his door before he lays his head down.
-Chase: I tell her tommorrow. I tell her tommorrow. I tell her tommorow.
Chase keeps repeating his words intill exhaustion takes over and he falls into a deep sleep.
Skye awoke from hearing a noise outside. She stood up and pressed her ear against the door and hears walking. She opens the door but was only met by darkness.
-Skye: (in her head) Is that you again Chase?
Skye walks out of her puphouse and starts to wonder around a bit, trying to find the source of the sound, but it sounded like it came from everywhere. Skye focuses on the sounds and realized there was four main sources of the sounds. She walks a bit more intill she realized. The noises sounded like talking.
-Skye: (in her head) The voices sound like human.,.
Before Skye could finish her thought she felt two arms grab her and picked her up to a man's face.
-man: I got you now.
While being close enough to the Lookout's inside lights that shined through the windows, Skye could see the man's face. Black,short black hair, piercing on his nose, a smile that shows crooked teeth, dark green eyes, and definetly in his early fourties.
-Skye: What are you going to do?
Skye's question was answered when the man pulled out a large sack.
-man: I'm going to borrow you untill my boss is done with you.
The man tries to shove Skye in the sack but she resists.
-Skye: Hey! Stop!
Skye bears her teeth and tries to bite the hand that was holding her, but she couldn't. So she claws at the hand with all four of her legs, enough for the guy to drop her. She quickly gets up and tries to run to the Lookout, but fell when the man grabbed her rear legs. Before the man covered her mouth, she shouted as loud as she could.
-Skye: HEEELLLP!
A puphouse door open with two pups coming out of it.
-Marshall: Huh?
-Everest: I heard someone say help!
Skye manages to say 'help' again before she was tossed in the sack.
-Everest: Skye is in trouble!
Everest points to the man, which Marshall had already started to run and bark at.
-Marshall: Arf! Arf! Let Skye Go! Arf! Arf!
The man, holding the bag which held Skye in one hand, tries to kick the dalmation with his left foot, but the dog dodged by moving to the right. The man tries to kick the dog again using his right foot, which worked. He hits the dog on his side, which wasn't as effective as hitting the head like he aimed for, but the dog still flung and landed away from him.
-Everest: Marshall!
The man turns to Everest, which was staring at the hurt dalmation, and was about to kick her intill the man heard the stupidest catchphrase he has ever heard.
-Rubble: Rubble on the Double!
Before the guy could turn around the bulldog took a hold of his right arm, close to his shoulder, and squeezed.
-man: Aahhh!
The man still didn't let go of the sack and swung his arm around trying to break the bulldog's grip, but all it did was tighten. Everest, seeing her chance to get her revenge for Marshall, jumped and bit the mans wrist.
-man: God Damn It!
The man dropped the sack to the floor. A fuming Skye ran out of it and went for the man's legs. The guy manages to pull out a walky talky with his bloody hand before he fell down in pain.
-man: Where are all of you idiots! Help me!
While he finished his sentence he watches one of his partners, a woman with brown hair, a cheek tattoo, and blood running down her neck from a cut on her other ckeek, sprinting away from a grayish looking dog. The man uses his free foot to kick the mutt on his other foot off and runs to the woman.
Two other people arrive from behind the lookout. One was an older female, black, long black hair, freckles, and wearing all bright red clothes. The other was a white man wearing a hat and boots, unlike the others. He had the most muscles out of all of them but also out of all of them, he wasn't skinny.
The first woman outsmarted the gray dog by halting to a stop and holding her hands up in the air, facing the dog. Rocky stops too, wondering if she actually gave up, but was soon kicked by the man.
-man: Get these mutts off of me!
The woman manages to break Rubble off, which in return tries to bite her.
-woman: Woah!
When Rubble tried to lurch foreward to bite her she pulled her head backwards, which caused her feet to slide underneath from her from the gravity and she falls on her back. Rubble takes his chance and attacks. After the second bite that was delivered from Rubble to her arm, she throws the bulldog off and runs away following the paved roadway. Everest, releasing her grip from the man's wrist, jumped and attacked the older woman, knocking her down. Everest went for the woman's shoulder but was struck back to the ground by a punch to the nose. Everest fell and whimpered, which attracted the attention of the dalmation. Marshall jumped towards the white man, pushing him down to the ground, and then jumps on the older woman, biting where Everest was aiming. The woman cries out in pain as blood rushes out of her shoulder and into the dalmation's mouth. Marshall, never tasting someone else's blood before and being a medic thinks it might give him a disease, pulls his head back in disgust.
-Marshall: Eww!
The white man, still laying on the ground, spins his body and kicks Marshall off of the woman. Marshall went flying the second time and landed beside Skye. All three of the remaining humans decided to run away towards the driveway intill they seen their boss standing there.
-boss: Where are you going?
-woman: We give up!
The three runs down the driveway while the boss stands there.
-boss: I knew I didn't hire the right people.
The boss turned to Rocky and Skye, the only standing pups. They both were growling and was ready to attack.
-boss: Lets get this over with.
Both pups dive aiming for the arms but the man quicky spins around and raises his leg, kicking Skye, which propelled her into Rocky. Both land almost unconsious.
-boss: Too easy.
The boss then was pushed down by what felt like three other dogs. Before the boss actually fell he rolled to stay on his feet. Seeing one dog already jumped towards him with his peripheral vision he throws his right arm around and punched the dog in the cheek, sending the Dalmation flying. With his body still turning from throwing a punch he let it continue to turn so he can raise his foot and sidekick the Husky that tried to attack in the face. Blood flies out of Everest's mouth before she lands back on the ground. Marshall, watching Everest's blood land on his face, passes out. The bulldog, though, successfully bit the man's ankle.
-boss: Aahh!
The boss screams in pain as Rubble squeezes as hard as he can, but doesn't puncture the skin due to the boots.
-boss: You Bitch! Those are expensive boots!
The boss uses his free foot to kick the bulldog off of him, then before Rubble could attack again the man slammed his foot down on the bulldog. Rubble yells out in pain and decides to give up for now. Rocky jumps and bit the boss's shoulder blade but was thrown to the ground and also kicked in the chest. Skye, seeing the man distracted, jumped and aimed at the back of the neck. The man, hearing the growling, spun around and punched Skye as hard as he can in her chest, sending her flying about five feet from him. Skye lands on her back but spun around on the ground a few times before she actually stopped.
-boss: You all put up a good fight.
All the pups, including the just awoke Marshall, stands up, ignoring all the pain, and ready themselves for another fight. Except for Skye. She still layed on the ground, knowing the moment she move too much pain will appear. So she whimpers the whole time from the amount of pain. It felt like her whole body was being ripped up slowly. Death would be better right now instead of the agony she is feeling.
Laying in his bed, he hears the fighting outside before he even wakes up. He opens his eyes. The eyes changes, like the regular soul that was trapped inside left and was replaced with something...angry and dark. It is not something you can descibe easily. It was like the person inside was corrupted into a killing machine. His body was infused with that darkness and anger, his whole body shaking.
The boss, covered in everybody else's blood except for his own, slowly turns his head to the left, then to the right, looking at each dog.
-boss: You all put up quite a good fight, but I can't continue. I won't be able to take a dog covered in gashes, bruises, and blood so my boss can study you. You can't study something when it is too messed up. So i'm going to go ahead and end this.
The man pulls out a blackened object from its holster. He lifts it up and points it to the cockapoo in front of him. Skye tries to move but just collapses. The man swithes the safety off.
-boss: I just need one. Dead or alive.
The pups, just realizing that the object was a gun like Ryder explained to them, was too far away from the man to stop him.
-all pups except Skye: Nooo!
The man pulls the trigger.
Bang!
Before Skye was shot a figure with incrediable speed pushed her out of the way. The only thing the bullet did was shave some fur off of Skye's leg. Before the man realized what happened the figure jumped and crunched down on his right arm. He swings while still holding on the arm, badly tearing the skin.
-boss: Aaahh!
The man drops the weapon at the same time the figure let go of the arm. The man, realized his arm wouldn't respond anymore, looked at the figure.
The figure had bloody teeth bearing, brown fur raised, ears up high, and what looked like to the guy glowing eyes.
-figure: LEAVE... SKYE... ALONE!
The figure said that sentence with so much anger the guy couldn't help but feel scared. The man swipes his foot around aiming for the dog's head, but the dog went underneath the foot dodging. The dog jumped up and got a hold of the neck. The man fell to the ground and started to punch the dog, but the punches seemed like it did no effect. The figure slowly bit harder and harder intill he knew for sure he punctured the carotid then pulled his head back, ripping open the bosses neck, revealing blood.
-boss: (coughing up blood) You... smart...dog.
The man releases his last breath with realization that the dog tore one of the life arteries. The dog stares at the body for awhile, making sure he was dead. Now knowing the man is dead, the dog walked over to Skye. Without saying anything the dog picked her up and layed her on his back, taking her inside the Lookout. When inside he gently lays the cockapoo in the elavator.
-figure: Are you okay Skye?
Skye focuses on the figure. The figure showed as much worry on his face as he can have.
-Skye: Ch-Chase?
Skyes eyes focused and seen the German Shepard staring at her.
-Skye: Ch-Chase.
Skye's head falls and goes unconsious. Chase, knowing she is not dead, went outside and picked up each pup, which all of them was too hurt or surprised from the corpse laying in the driveway to move. Chase first took Marshall in, then Everest, then Rocky, and at last Rubble.
Bringing Rubble in and getting him to lay in the elevator, Chase presses the 'up' button. When at the top Chase ran to Ryder's door. Without stopping, Chase uses his hind legs to kick open the door. Ryder almost jumped up in his bed from hearing his door kicked in.
-Chase: Ryder!
-Ryder: Chase? Did you break my door?
-Chase: Ryder, the pups are hurt and we need you!
Ryder, only hearing the 'pups are hurt' part, jumps out of bed and runs to the living room. Ryder stops when he see's the pups, covered in cuts, bruises, and a little bit of blood, laying in the elevator.
-Ryder: What Happened!?
-Chase: Some people tried to fight us, but didn't succeed.
Ryder runs over to the pups and, with Chase's help, moved each one close to the big screen since that is where there is a lot of room.
-Chase: What do we do Ryder?
-Ryder: Chase, see which one is awake. I'll check all of them.
Ryder runs his fingers on each dog, feeling blood and openings.
-Chase: Only Everest, Rocky, and Rubble is awake. But they seem about to pass out.
-Ryder: Damnit. I really need Marshall right now.
Ryder looks at each pup.
-Ryder: Where is Zuma?
-Chase: I... Think he is still in his puphouse.
-Ryder: Alright, at least one dog wasn't hurt.
-Chase: So what should we do to them?
-Ryder: Not much. Luckily the cuts and scrapes aren't bad enough to really worry. The only thing we can do is to let them heal and wait for tommorrow.
-Chase: Okay.
Ryder, which realized he was moving alot, freaked out, calms himself.
-Ryder: (sighs) Lets all go to sleep and wait.
Rubble, Everest, and Rocky has already passed out before Ryder finished his sentence. Chase cuddles Skye and falls asleep and Ryder lays on the couch and passes out.
The four people ran down the street together intill one gets a call. They all come to a stop before the white, long brown haired woman, named Samamtha, pulls out a phone from her pocket and answers.
-Samamtha: Hello?
-?: Did you capture them?
Samamtha looks at the others with a frightened face. They all return the same expression.
-Samamtha: We didn't get one.
-?: What!? None of you couldn't get one dog!?
-Samamtha: They fought back. So we ran.
-?: I paid each of you $5,000 to mess up!? The fuck is wrong with you all!?
-Samamtha: Don't worry. Mark stayed and I feel like he will get one.
-?: You all better hope that.
The person on the phone hangs up.
-Samamtha: Oh crap.
The unknown person hangs up the phone.
-?: I paid $10,000 for Mark and $20,000 for the other four people and they can't get one god damn dog!
The person slams his fist down on the table he was at.
-2nd?: Calm down sir!
The person leans on the table with his hands, taking deep breaths to calm down.
-?: I need one of those dogs. I risked two much already.
