Chapter 8: What is this?
"Mmh! This is so good!" Listoria just smiled happily as eat her slice of pie. "Thanks, Chian!"
"Heh, no worries Listoria!" Chian smiled as she left the room.
We all came to this place called Chian's Pies whose owner is also named Chian. She each served us 5 slices of pies to each of which Plutia already finished hers and is now sleeping. Compa and IF just taking small bites from theirs. I, however, just stared at it.
"Sapphire? What's wrong?" Listoria asked as she was eating her pie.
"Well…" I look directly at my slice of pie. "What kind of pie is this anyways?"
"Well it's different from each so…" Listoria keeps thinking to herself. "I think today is blueberry pie."
"B-Blueberry…?" I said as I looked back at my slice of pie. "I think I just lost my appetite…"
"Sap-Sap? You don't like blueberries?" Compa asked.
"Absolutely hate them! It's not people's food! It was made from the pits of hell!" I start rambling on. "Compa! Iffy! How can you eat them without choking!
"Wow, Sapphire! I can't believe you still don't like blueberries." Listoria said a little of sarcasm. "And I'm still wondering what makes you hate them."
"Saps, you're not a little kid." IF told me as she took a piece from my pie and tried feeding me to it. "Stop being picky and eat!"
"What are you saying, Iffy?!" I cried as I closed my mouth with my hand. "Forcing food can sometimes be dangerous!"
"Just eat it already!" IF exclaimed as she shoved the piece in my mouth.
"Urm?! I-Iffy, st-sto…! Urm!" The taste of these blueberries taste horrible! I never tasted something so bad that it would make me barf!
"Maybe this will jog your memory by chance?" IF smirked as she kept shoving my mouth with the rest of my blueberry pie.
"Urghmurgh! I-Iffy, please… st…op…" I felt like I was going to faint but I was able to hear laughing from Listoria and a little giggle from Compa.
"Wow, I can't really believe that this is happening in front of us…" Listoria said through her giggles before her phone started to ring. "Wait one second…"
She quickly answered it and after a few seconds of talking, she finally hung up.
"Who was that?" IF asked in confusion while I was just coughing.
"It was Kei." Listoria told us with a smile. "She told me to come back to the Basilicom as quickly as possible."
"And why is that?" IF questioned. "Did she tell you why you need to go?"
"I don't really know…" Listoria said. "Which is strange since she always tells me why…"
I finally stopped coughing and asked. "Do you want us to come with you?"
"No need!" Listoria smiled brightly. "And besides, you guys still need to find the Treasure Gem and some Hematite, right?"
"Yeah, okay…" I said as I looked down sadly.
"Hey, don't worry about it!" Listoria smiled very confidently. "And beside, I'm strong enough on my own."
"Okay…um…see you later then…" I said as I waved her goodbye as Listoria.
"See ya Sapphire!" Listoria said as she walked out the door.
We all just stood there silently as we tried to plan our next move. That's when we heard Plutia muttering something.
"Please… don't…"
Hey, Plutia? Are you okay?" Compa asked as she tried to shake her awake.
"Please… don't… leave…" Plutia muttered to herself as we saw tears flowing her cheeks.
"Hey, Plutia! You're having a bad dream!" I said as I also tried to shake her awake.
But Plutia still wouldn't wake up. She was trembling and crying while muttering the same word multiple times.
"Compa? What's going on with Plutia?" I asked, sounding really worried.
"I-I don't really know…" Compa said as she kept shaking her.
"We need to get her to a bed…" IF muttered before turning to Chian, who came back and looks really confused. "Do you guys have any beds by any chance?"
"Y-Yeah… s-sure, right this way!" Chian said as we followed her to a bed where Compa laid Plutia on. Compa then check for any signs of what going but
"Sap-Sap… Iffy… I don't know what's wrong with Plutia…" Compa said worryingly.
"Are you sure that there is nothing wrong with her?" I asked Compa to which she nodded.
"She must be having a bad dream or something…" Compa look back at her.
I know that but what? I thought to myself. I know what it is but…
Then we all heard a monster roaring while we heard people screaming.
"Please somebody help us!" Someone cried out.
"Anyone! Please! I don't want to die!"
"There's a monster attack?!" IF cried out in shock as IF was about to leave the door.
"But what should we do about Plutia?" Compa asked, looking back at her worryingly.
That's when IF was silent about it. She was thinking about what we should do. I also kept thinking on what to do.
"Please… I don't… want this… anymore…" I heard Plutia muttered
That's when I came up with an idea.
"Iffy, Compa, I'll handle Plutia." I told them. "You handle taking on that monster."
"But Saps, we need you there!" IF exclaimed.
"I know but…" I looked back at Plutia. "I don't know why… but Plutia needs me!"
"But Sap-Sap…!"
"And beside, my stomach is telling me to rest for a little bit…" I told them. "I'll be there when she wakes up."
They both were silent for a moment until IF answered. "Alright, but promise me that you'll be there, okay?"
I nodded at IF. "Yeah, promise!"
"Well then, let's go, Compa!" IF exclaimed as she and Compa rushed towards the door.
I then turned back to Plutia and took her hand.
"I'm here, Plutia… I'm here…"
I suddenly felt a little drowsy.
"I'm… here…"
And then I fell asleep.
Place: Unknown
"Where… am I?"
I looked around to see that I'm standing in a hallway.
"What's going… on?"
And that when I felt intense emotions around me. Anger, Pain, Sadness… I felt it intensify around me.
"What… is this?" I muttered to myself.
And that's when I heard a voice…
"Please don't leave me!"
"Plutia!" I called out as I ran towards the voice.
"P-Please I don't w-want you to…"
"Plutia! Where are you?!" I kept calling out.
I kept calling out to Plutia who I heard was crying. When I finally found her, I saw her sitting on the ground, reaching out to someone. That someone looked really familiar to me.
"Pl-Please I don't want you to…"
And then I heard someone else's voice.
It was completely distorted but I heard what it said.
"I'm done being scared of you! I don't want to see your face ever again!"
"N-No, I-I'm sorry… I-I…"
Then the scene completely. That's when I saw her crying with no one else in sight.
"I-I don't want people to be scared of me… anymore…" I heard her mutter, her voice sounded distant and sad. "I won't transform… anymore… I will never transform… ever again…"
"Plutia…"
What can I say to her to comfort her? I thought to myself. I don't know anything about her… I know!
"Hey! Plutia!" I called out to her. "I don't think you're scary!"
That's when she slowly looked up to me. Her face is stained with tears. "S-Sappy… why are you…?"
"It doesn't matter right now!" I told her. "We need to go!"
"But why…?" Plutia asked me as she looked down. "People would think I'm scary…"
"Again… I don't think that!" I repeated the same words. "I think you're pretty cool!"
"I'm… cool?" Plutia then shook her head. "I'm not… I'm way too scary… People are scared of me… I don't want to see…"
"Stop thinking like that!" I immediately told her.
"And stop acting like you know me!" Plutia shot back before crying again. "It hurts…. Everything…. It hurts…. Every time I see them… It hurts…"
I stood there silently, trying to find the right words before speaking. "I don't know what's happening to you… but… that doesn't mean I can't help you…"
"Huh?"
"It doesn't matter what others say about you." I told her. You're you! Nothing's going to change who you are! Even if it hurts! Even if you're hurting right now… Even if you keep falling, you need to get up! And if you can't…"
I reached my hand out to her. "Then I'll help you up no matter how many times you fall!"
There was a moment of silence, nobody had made an inch. That's when Plutia suddenly took my hand while I pulled her up.
"By the way Plutia, where are we?" I asked her.
"Well…" Plutia then put on her thinking face. "I have no idea!"
"Let's just get out of here…"
That when the floor beneath us started to crumble and then we started to fall.
"We're falling!"
Place: Chian's Pies
We both slowly woke up and looked around and saw that we somehow ended up back in the room.
That was really weird… I thought to myself. Like where was I before and what was I supposed to do again?
"Um Sappy?" Plutia asked. "Where IF and Compa?"
"IF and Compa? Well…" And that's when I realized something. "Ah crap, we need to go now!"
"Um, why?" Plutia questioned me with confusion.
"I promised IF that we will help her with the monster attack!" I said as I quickly stood up. "We need to go as quickly as possible!"
"Oh, um… okay…" Plutia muttered as she stood up from her bed. "And Sappy?"
"Yeah?" I asked her.
"Thank you…"
I then smiled brightly and confidently. "No worries!"
A few minutes later…
We ran to where IF and Compa was and they were fighting a huge monster.
"Damn it… what's taking them so long!" IF said as she was fighting the monster, she was already getting tired.
"Iffy… let's hold it back until they come back!" Compa assured IF.
"But…"
"Now! Triple Combination!" I called out my attack as it got knocked back by my three slices.
"Iffy! Compa! I'm sorry we're late!" I called out to them.
"What do you mean 'Sorry we're late'?" IF yelled back.
"Well, it doesn't matter now!" I quickly look back at the monster and it seems to be holding some kind of gem. "What's it holding?"
"The Treasure Gem…" IF answered.
"Wait…" I looked directly at IF. "You mean the one we're looking for?"
IF nodded before looking back. "I don't know how it got it but we need to defeat it first."
"Alright! Let me handle this!" I charged toward the monster and that's when I heard a girl's voice.
"Prepare to meet your maker, monster! The one, the only, deadly Justice Kick!"
And then I felt a strong kick to the face…
And now it's time for… Sapphire's Imagination!
"Like I said I'm not eating blueberries!" I told IF while someone started to repeat the same thing that I said. "Absolutely hate them! It's not people's food! It was made from the pits of hell!"
That's when all turn to the purple-haired girl with a troll face.
"Wait, who are you?"
"Oh, me?" The girl to herself. "I'm—!"
"Shirking away from your duties, Neptune?"
The girl quickly turns to the fairy girl sitting on a huge book. "What the…? Histy?! What are you doing here?"
"For the last time, Neptune! Why do you shirk away from your duties? Do I have to give that speech again?" The fairy said as tied a rope to the girl's legs and started dragging her. She then opened a portal and turned towards us. "Please forget what you saw."
As she was dragging to the portal, we all heard the girl crying out. "Please help me! Please don't let her take me away!"
And then the portal closed. It left all of us, except Plutia since she was asleep, confused.
Author's Note: Poor Nep… No matter where she goes… Histy always finds her in three hours…
