…Finale…
We dressed in black to attend the Potter's and Evan's funeral. Petunia had no family members to plan her parents and sister's funeral. Friends and family for both sides came. After the funeral I walked around hugging and talking with friends of ours.
I went up to Petunia when I was done with my rounds. "I heard from others that she was quite the fighter. Do you think she resisted in those last moments?", she asked looking at Lily's grave. "Yes. I'm sure of it. The only regret I think she would have had was that she never got to give birth to her other child.", I responded. "Other child? She was pregnant when that man attacked them?", Petunia gasped. I nodded wiping at the tears that were forming. We stood there for a moment. She hugged me and left the funeral in tears.
Once we were home, I collapsed onto the couch. Sirius pulled me up and placed my head on his shoulder. We sat like that for most of the day.
On my way into work the next week I saw something that caught my eye. There was a list of Death Eaters with their pictures who died resisting arrest. The man from my nightmare was one of them. Without being able to stop myself I heaved a sigh of relief. I already knew but every time I saw it I felt relief.
I spent my spare time with Sirius and the twins. Sirius hadn't fully recovered yet from all the events. Sometimes in the middle of the night he'd wake with a start.
In the summer I gave birth to twins. Ava and Lucas. With the birth of the babies Sirius began to return to normal. I could tell they were going to be a handful.
"What are you up to?", Sirius asked coming into the kitchen early one morning. I held up a scrapbook I'd made. He sat beside me. We looked through all the pictures from Hogwarts and vacations. I'd added the pictures from the boy's vacation. "I hope that Harry grows up well with little trauma.", Sirius whispered.
As the months passed and time went on Sirius improved. We happily attended the weddings of various friends. Our friends visited often. The twins loved when their cousins visited.
Three years had passed. We got a letter invitation in the mail. Sirius gaped and handed it to me. It was an invitation to Severus and Zahara's wedding. My mouth dropped open. "I know right!", Sirius gasped. It was a lovely wedding and they both seemed very happy.
Remus seemed to always be on the move. He didn't seem to want to work to his full potential and it was worrying. I made friends with Molly Weasley. She'd heard about the tutoring I did at Hogwarts, so I helped her homeschool her kids every now and then. I even made her a clock with all the family members faces on it.
We went on lots picnics and after a lot of discussion the group decided to take a return trip to Romania. The children loved playing in the snow. The girls and I took the ski lifts to the expert slope. I took out the photo we took the last time we were here. We gathered around it looking at how happy we were then. We put the picture in the snow. "Are you sure about leaving it here?", Adalene asked.
"I have a copy at home. Each of you have one in the scrapbooks I gave you on your wedding days. It'll be fine. I'm sort of hoping that Lily is watching us now. I hope she's happy that we're still here together. See Lily, we did get to return here.", I spoke with trembling voice as I looked up at the sky. One by one we skied down the slope.
As the last one I got up slowly. I turned to the screen and looked at the readers and author. "It's time to go. I hope you enjoyed this story. See you next time!", I shouted waving as I took off down the slope.
A/N: I tried to stick to the original story line as much as I could. Hope you enjoyed. Until next time. Bye.
