Chapter 20:

Uhuru Fights Ubinasfi

Meanwhile, on the other side of the entrance, the herd has arrived and in their way is a path of rocks that go up to a waterfall and a log bridge that leads to the entrance. Ubinasfi looked at the waterfall with shock. Making her way through the herd as they bellowed and whinnied out, Mfalme and the two Kritohippus foals headed over to him.

" Stay here," said Mfalme as she heads over to Ubinasfi and the foals stayed put with the herd.

" We'll find a way around the waterfall," said Mfalme.

Ubinasfi looked at her as if he had enough with different ideas and said " In the morning we'll climb it,".

Mfalme turned to him with a mad look.

Out in the desert, towards sunset, Uhuru runs all the way to find the herd as fast as his legs can carry him. Later towards night, Uhuru ran down the trail until he came to a stop and noticed something. Uhuru moved a bush aside and in front of him is a dead Stygicapraloch. It was proof that the herd came this way. But then Uhuru heard footsteps and saw movement nearby as he turns to it. Nearby some rocks, something red moves behind them. Then appearing from behind them is the Allorhinus and he is prowling the area for anything to eat.

Uhuru quickly and quietly moves behind some rocks as the Allorhinus starts coming over to his direction. The Allorhinus growled as he started to wander closer to Uhuru's hiding place. Uhuru remained quiet as the Allorhinus' head hovers behind the rock. Then cautiously, Uhuru peaks his head out at the same time as the Allorhinus lifts his head. Uhuru peaked his head out and saw how close the Allorhinus was and lowers.

The Allorhinus noticed something and roared as he lunges at the Stygicapraloch corpse and snatches it.

With the Allorhinus busy, Uhuru quickly and quietly rushes off.

Soon the Allorhinus lifts his head and swallows the Stygicapraloch whole. But then he growled and turns over to his right and narrowed his eyes as he growled.

The next day, Ubinasfi was on a ledge with Mfalme in front of the herd.

" We have to keep trying. Our survival, our future, our sanctuary is over this waterfall. Now, let's go home!" yelled Ubinasfi as he turns away.

But for the first time in their life, the herd was reluctant and unsure of this idea and Ubinasfi saw them and looked around and noticed the Kritohippus foals with Mfalme. He approached them and said as he nudged them ahead " You'll make it. Won't you young ones,".

" No, Ubinasfi," said Mfalme protesting.

" Watch them. They're tough! IF THEY CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!" yelled Ubinasfi.

Mfalme turns as the herd begins climbing up the rocks and Ubinasfi lightly smiled as he begins to head up.

" UBINASFI!" yelled Uhuru.

Ubinasfi looks back and Mfalme gasped as Uhuru rushed up to them.

" Get everyone out of here. A Sharp-tooth's coming!" yelled Uhuru.

The herd is in mediate concern as they bellowed and whinnied as Ubinasfi looked around.

" Keep Moving!" ordered Ubinasfi.

" No! Don't listen to him! Ubinasfi's leading you all astray!" yelled Uhuru.

The herd was sudden by that as a Tenontohippus stallion turns over to Ubinasfi.

" No, I'm not. You can trust me. I'm the leader," said Ubinasfi trying to get the herd to stay on his side.

" But we don't," said a voice.

Uhuru, Ubinasfi, and Mfalme looked to see Trya coming towards them.

" Your days as a leader are over Ubinasfi," said Trya.

" That's right, Uhuru is the true leader of the herd," said Bulldozer as he appears from behind Trya.

" And if you want him, you'll have to get through us first dude. Who's with me?" said One-ton as he also appeared from behind Trya.

Then Mabawa appeared and landed on Trya's head as they all bellowed.

Ubinasfi was starting to grow irritated.

" Come on, show them," said Ubinasfi as he nudged the Kritohippus foals.

" Ubinasfi, listen to them," said Mfalme.

" Look we gotta go now!" said Uhuru.

" Go where? Straight to the Sharp-teeth?!" said Ubinasfi inquiring.

" If we work together, we can get around the Sharp-tooth. You can't get over that waterfall! There's a sheer drop on the other side!" said Uhuru.

Now losing his patience, Ubinasfi shoves a foal off his feet and almost knocking the other over the ledge.

" Let my herd go! We know the way to the valley and everyone could make it. Now follow me!" yelled Uhuru.

Ubinasfi growled and rushes forward.

" Ubinasfi, No!" said Mfalme as she got in front of Ubinasfi trying to stop him.

But Ubinasfi shoved her aside and leaps off the rocks as he lands on the ground.

" They're staying with me!" yelled Ubinasfi.

Uhuru swung his tail at him and yelled " Alright, let's go!".

Finally having enough, Ubinasfi angrily growls and then charges towards Uhuru as he whinnies. Trya noticed and yelled " Uhuru Look Out!".

Uhuru turns to him as Ubinasfi launched at him and knocks him off his feet. Ubinasfi then bites down on Uhuru's neck. Then the two Iguanohippus stallions tussled around as Ubinasfi pins Uhuru on his back on the ground and bit him at the neck. But when he was about to do it again, Uhuru fights back and throws Ubinasfi off of him.

Quickly, Uhuru gets up on his feet and charges at Ubinasfi. Ubinasfi reaches out his arms for Uhuru as Uhuru pushes Ubinasfi back with his front legs and slashes him with his spiked-thumb. The two Iguanohippus stallions then raised back up on their hind legs as Ubinasfi raises his front left foot and slams it on Uhuru's shoulder. Uhuru whinnies in pain as Ubinasfi pushes him back a little and nearly slashed him. Uhuru raised his left front foot and smacks Ubinasfi with his spiked-thumb, giving Ubinasfi a scar below his left eye, as he whinnies in pain.

Ubinasfi then swung his left front foot and slashed his thumb claw at Uhuru's chest as Uhuru whinnies in pain. Then Ubinasfi quickly twirls and swung his tail at Uhuru causing him to be thrown off his feet in the air. Uhuru then hits the side of the wall hard and hits the ground. Uhuru turns as Ubinasfi lifts up high whinnying aggressively as he lifts his right front foot ready to kill him. But suddenly, Mfalme shoves him off his feet and Ubinasfi hits the ground.

Even the herd and Uhuru's friends were sudden by this as Ubinasfi stared at her. Mfalme breathed deeply having enough of this and turns away. Uhuru stood up as Mfalme helps him up as Uhuru's friends went over as well. Then they all begin to walk off.

Ubinasfi got to his feet as he watches them go and lowly growls.

" MFALME!" yelled Ubinasfi.

His yell echoed as Mfalme tears up but ignores him without even looking back. Ubinasfi sadly remained silent. After a few moments, the other Ungusaurs of the herd begin to follow them and Ubinasfi just stood there as they walked off. Mfalme went up to Uhuru and they nuzzled each other.

Author's Note: One chapter down and only two more to go I'll give you that. Plus, you gotta admit Uhuru and Ubinasfi fighting each other is quite intense.
