Annabeth:
Annabeth was fed up with demi-god life. As she slashed Cetus with her drakon-bone sword, She tried to fight away the anxiety she felt creeping up. She forced it back down into the little box in her heart, where she knew it couldn't escape and carried on slashing.
She missed Percy. Ever since Tartarus, she couldn't be apart from him. That place still haunted her every minute of the day. She would always push the feelings down but she knew they would eventually come spilling out uncontrollably. Annabeth had to be strong for the seven. They looked up to her as a leader and she couldn't let them down. The child of Athena shoved those thoughts away and focused on what was important.
Seaweed threatened to pull her further into the depths of the ocean as she scanned her surroundings, sand, sand, and sand. An occasional lost fish would swim close, but when they noticed Cetus, Annabeth had never seen a fish swim so fast. The water was freezing but she shook that off and focused on anything she could use to help kill Cetus. Nothing. Great, she thought, now I have to kill Cetus myself. But Cetus wasn't the strangest thing that happened to her today.
Ever since she woke up a 20 minutes ago she had been plagued with the anomaly of her breathing. She was underwater right. How was she breathing? Annabeth had a theory. Her theory was that Percy and Annabeth had become the closet they could possibly be: Apart of one another. She thought that maybe she could breathe because Percy was apart of her and that part gave her an extra power. She had noticed her seaweed brain wasn't as dumbfounded as normal. Maybe he had a part of her too.
Ignoring her thoughts she cut of half of the monsters fin and it cried out in pain. It thrashed around and tried to bite at Annabeth. Tried. She was a step ahead and before Cetus could sink its teeth into her she had dogged and stabbed the underbelly of the beast. It burst into golden powder and revealed a figure staring at her in awe. It was Percy. Her seaweed brain.
She rushed forward and hugged him. Instantly dry. He created a bubble around them, just like their first official kiss. The memories flooded back and a warm feeling spread through her. Percy broke the calming silence.
"I'm so sorry," his voice sounded raw and scraped as if he had been crying.
"Percy you didn't do anything wrong, ok? I love you." She said comfortingly.
"I love you too."
The pair stood together in each other's arms until Percy asked Annabeth the one thing she had no answer to.
"How were you breathing?" He asked softly.
"I'm not sure" She replied, she could tell those words surprised him.
"You have a theory" Percy could read Annabeth like an open book. Then again he was dyslexic, so the book would have to be written in ancient greek.
"Yes," She admitted. "Maybe our love is so true that we are one person, and where ever I go I will always have a piece of you with me and you will always have a piece of me."
"So does that make me smart?" Her seaweed brain guessed while smirking.
"I guess it does" she mumbled into his chest.
Their lips connected and Annabeth felt electricity coursing through her veins. She was instantly transported back at Camp-half blood. The strawberry fields, cabin 6 and cabin 3, the forest and playing capture the flag. Percy pulled away and Annabeth was brought back to reality.
"The other's will be worried Annie," he reasoned. She rolled her eyes.
"Ok. And DON'T call me Annie." She said fiercely.
Percy chuckled and held her tighter as they shot up towards the surface. The couple burst out of the water and Percy bent the water to push them up onto the deck of the Argo II. They landed and saw the rest of the seven running towards the two leaders. Percy still had his arm around Annabeth.
Piper was the first to speak.
"Annabeth! You're ok. How? What happened? Where were you? Where's C-" Annabeth put her hands up in the universal stop sign. She was worried Piper would never stop talking.
"I'm ok, I killed Cetus and Percy found me at the bottom of the sea." She explained shortly, desperate to have time alone with her boyfriend.
"Ho-" Piper started before Hazel cut the frantic girl off.
"We are so glad you are okay Annabeth," She turned to the group of demi-gods "Let's let Annabeth get some rest, okay?"
The seven nodded and walked to different parts of the colossal Argo II. Leo to the engine room. Jason to his room. Piper to the kitchen. Hazel and Frank deep into the bows of the ship. Annabeth smiled as they walked away, then as soon as they left she looked at Percy. He was looking at the sky. Her face turned sad and she whispered silently.
"Bob says hello."
