Chapter 10

Riku and Alex didn't get too far into the maze before they ran into Heartless Ansum, Heartless Riku and Xigbar. Ansum simply floated in the air as Riku fought his evil self well Alex and Xigbar fired at each other from across the area. Alex was having a hard time landing a hit on the one eyed man as with two energy crossbows to her one bow, his shots were faster. She was mostly dodging Xigbar's attacks as she tried to find an opening on either him or Heartless Riku. That came when Riku was able to put some space between him and his evil copy and both long range fighters attacked the other's partners. Riku easily dodged Xigbar's attacks well Heartless Riku not only avoided Alex's attacks but rapidly closed the distance between them.

"Hello Alex." He said as he grabbed her and without warning he kissed her, taking her completely by surprise. Her eyes were big as she tried to push him off, hearing Rilku's shout of distain and Xigbar's dark chuckle. Alex glared at the Heartless version of her friend before she punched him in the face then kneed him between the legs. Alex jumped away from him well Riku fired an attack at his dark counterpart, she back flipped over to him. The two of them took a moment to catch their breath as they glared at the two organization members. "Riku! Alex!"

They both turned and saw Sora running towards them. "Sora!" they both called out happy to see him as he came to stand with them they then engaged them again. With Sora there it seemed Ansem decided to join in the fight which they could handle as they worked together. Then things changed as Ansem called on the darkness and flooded the area with its energy. He then floated up and started to leave the area. Riku tried taking off after him but then his Heartless appeared next to him. "Where are you going?" he asked before he striking Riku, sending him to the ground with enough force to knock him out. Sora ran towards him well Xigbar fired on them both but Sora was able to block all of his energy bolts. "Nice moves kid but aren't forgetting about someone?"

Sora's eyes went wide as he turned to look at Alex who was firing at Heartless Riku but he simply blocked all of her light arrows and went to strike her down. They saw her throw her bow to the side, it disappearing well she summoned her Phoenix blades but it was clear she wouldn't get them up in time. "No Alex!" Sora shouted.

Alex felt fear fill her as she saw the grin on Heartless Riku's face as they both knew he had her, but then a black blur came out of nowhere and kicked him away from her. They all watched the Heartless Riku tumbled across the ground until he came to a stop at Xigbar's feet. "It seems I made it just in time to make a difference. You alright Alex?"

Standing right in front of her was a tall young man with short curly black hair, a forehead protector with a leaf symbol on it was tired around his head. He was wearing a black shirt with a high open collar, a fan symbol on his back that was white and red. His pants were also black, tapped around his ankles well a weapon's pouch was secured around his right leg. He only had one eye, his right one, that was onyx in color which studied her for injures. "I don't believe it, Shisui Uchiha." Alex said in disbelief.

"Shisui, where the hell have you been?" Riku demanded well Sora looked at the man in confusion, well Xigbar and Heartless Riku glared at him.

"Sorry I'm late but other than getting one of my eyes back I've been dealing with somethings back in my own world. I'll give everyone full details later. Let's deal with these guys first." Shisui said as he summoned his keyblade Assassin's Edge. It was dark bronze color, the guard looking much like the fan symbol of his clan well the teeth were half shrunken. At the end of the keychain was a glass Sharingan eye well shrunken made up the chain its self.

He and Alex both charged at Xigbar, the fight starting a new well Sora looked at his best friend confused. "Um Riku, who is he exactly?"

"Shisui comes from a world full of ninja with amazing abilities and he was helping us out well we were gathering your lost memories." Riku explained before he rejoined the fight. With Shisui joining them they soon had Xigbar defeated and what turned out to be the replica of Riku from Castle Oblivion. When the piece of the replica came out of Riku to deal with his other half he first placed a kiss on Alex's forehead, shocking her. He soon left them with a replica for Namine, a smile on his face, clearly happy with his choice as he disappeared. "Ok so what is it with different versions of you kissing me all the time?" Alex asked him as they all walked over to look at the now empty vessel.

Riku chuckled as he pulled her against his side. "I guess they all feel the same the same thing when it comes to you." He said before kissing her gently, making her blush but smile happily.

"Is that a replica for Namine?" Sora asked Riku who nodded.

"I wish we could help her now but first…" Riku didn't need to finish as they all knew what he was talking about. "I'm going after Ansem. Alex you should-"

Alex cut him off. "I have to face Drakkon, until then I'm sticking with you." With the determined look she was giving him Riku knew there was no changing her mind.

"I'll go help the others." Sora said.

"I'll go with Sora. I'm bound to find Aqua that way." Shisui told them, smiling at the thought of seeing the water master again but for the first time actually seeing her with his eye. Sora agreed and the two of them took off running deeper into the maze.

"Come on Riku we'd better go." Alex told him and started to head to the nearest passage way.

"Coming." He said but paused to look at the empty vessel. "I'll be back… once all of this is over."

Riku heard Alex gasp as a dark corridor opened and a certain blond walked out. "Hey, I'd thought you'd be gone by now." Riku looked up at the nobody Demyx, who had suddenly appeared. Both Alex and Riku were ready to fight him but with a bit of convincing and a G-Phone as proof they let him take the vessel to Ienso. Seeing how protective Riku was being of the vessel Alex felt a twinge of jealousy of Namine but pushed it aside as she knew she had no reason to be. After Demyx left, the vessel over his shoulder Alex and Riku took off running into the maze.

Sora and Shisui were running to where they hoped they would find Aqua and Ven after helping Axel, Xion and the newly returned Roxes. Of course Sora was now worried about Kairi who had been taken by Xemnas. Xehanort's nobody had been less then pleased to see Shisui was there as the two had fought many of times before the nobody had first been defeated. Xemnas had made sure to knock Shisui out first before he dealt with the others and then took Kairi. The Uchiha had been able to come around near the end of that fight and once again left with Sora to hopefully find Aqua. "If I'm I understand this correctly after a man named Danzo ripped out your right eye, and you gave your left to your cousin and then you fell off a cliff. All to activate a special ability for your cousin Itachi but instead of dying you fell through a rip in the worlds and landed in the Realm of Darkness. That was where you met Aqua and gained your keyblade."

"That's right Sora. I was with King Mickey when you and Riku closed the Door of Light and when you lost your memories in Castle Oblivion." Shisui explained as they ran. "I helped Riku, Ansem the Wise and Namine for a short time before I headed to my own world to find out what happened the years I was gone. I didn't not expect so much time to have passed or what had happened well I was gone."

Sora could see the sad look on the older man's face but before he could question him about it they turned the corner of a passage way and finally finding Aqua and Ven. The two were fighting Vanitus and Terranort, and were holding their own but were still struggling. "Aqua! Ven!" Sora called out as he and Shisui joined them. Aqua's eyes fell on Shisui and her whole face lite up at seeing him as he came to a stop in front of her. The two smiled at each other well Ven looked at the man he didn't know with uncertainty.

No more words were exchanged between them as the 4 turned and were ready to fight Vanitus and Terranort. Sora and Ven fought together against Vanitus well Shisui backed up Aqua as they went up against Terranort. It was well Aqua and Shisui were both trying to attack Terranort at the same time that the neckless Alex had given Aqua started to glow. Seeing this Terranort kicked Shisui away and he darted into Aqua's guard, grabbing the neckless, ripping it off her neck. "I don't know what purpose this has but I will not allow it to stop our plans." He snapped as he studied it.

"Then I better just show myself then."

The glow from the neckless burst outward causing Terranort to shout and cover his eyes, dropping the neckless. However it didn't fall to the ground, it hovered in the air as the glow took on a form and a women appeared. Jessica Smith, formally Macleod, glared at Terranort, which he returned before she spared Vanitus a glance. She was dressed in the cloths that she had worn when she lived and trained in the Land of Departure with Terra, Aqua and Ven. Her long red hair was once again tied back in its braid. "It's been a long time." She said bitterly.

"Jessica, you're here!" Ven called out happy to see her.

"But how?" Aqua asked confused as she and Shisui came to stand on either side of her. "Alex confirmed that you had died."

"I did Aqua but that neckless I had Alex give you was crystalized energy of the Morphing Grid, which has enough energy to bring me here, when my friends need me." Jessica explained as she summoned the Power Sword that had once been wielded by the original Red Ranger.

"That is no Keyblade." Terranort observed as he readied to fight them once again.

"No its not and I will never again hold one again as I lost the power when I died. My family's keyblade has instead passed to another." Jessica informed him before she charged at him, Aqua and Shisui backing her up this time. With Jessica there it was like all of them had gained more energy to fight the two organization members. Vanitus was the first of the two to be defeated and Sora was surprised that the boy looked like him save the darker hair and the yellow eyes. Well Shisui, Aqua and Jessica kept Terranort busy, Sora and Ven got to hear Vanitas's last words. Once they joined the other three I their fright to free their friend from Xehanort's heart they soon defeated him, driving the darkness out. Sora and Shisui stayed back as the three old friends ran to Terra's side and tried to bring him back to the light.

"Aqua… Jess… Ven…" Terra muttered as they helped him sit up.

"Terra, please…" Aqua pleaded with him.

"Come back… Terra!" Ven begged as he shook him desperate.

"Fight him, his darkness and return to the light!" Jessica shouted at him as she gripped his shirt tightly. "Our daughter needs you!" Terra heard them as he fought Xehanort for control over his heart and body. Sora and Shisui tried to encourage him too but then Terra let lose a cry as darkness and chains burst out at his feet. The chains grabbed everyone, save Jessica, throwing them around causing them great pain. The chains, passed right through Jessica but they did cause her great pain as they passed through her. She cried out in as she fell on the ground, parts of her now transparent but she could see the evil grin on Terra's face.

"You'll never be able to brake these chains. There our bonds." Terranort sneered before he waved his arms and the chains holding Aqua and Ven were whipped them around. Jessica had tears in her eyes as she watched Terranort laugh as he hurt her two best friends well Shisui and Sora pleaded with him to stop. "You have no power over me!" he shouts with glee as he kept hurting them. Wanting it to all come to an end, Jessica pushed back the pain to get to her feet, gripping the Power Sword in both hands and charged at Terranort. She decided in those few moments that one way or another Xehanort's control over the man she loved would come to an end.

Jessica shouted as she brought the Power Sword down, cutting deep into his arm, which caused Terranort to stop wiping Aqua and Ven around and pay attention to her as she got in close and aimed the tip of the sword at his heart. Terranort stopped her short as he dodged her attack and grabbed her around the neck, his grip unbreakable. Jessica dropped the Power Sword, it disappeared as a keyblade would, as she tried to pry his hand off her throat, well he lifted her up. "Perhaps I should take you to where Drakkon is and you can watch as he destroys your dear daughter."

"You're wrong." Jessica hissed at him, making him raise an eyebrow. "Alexandria is stronger than him, then you Xehanort. She not only has the power of the Light Shard, she has her father's strength, Ben's smarts, the determination of her brothers, and Zordon's wisdom. She is both the light and darkness of the Morphing Grid and one of the 4 guardians of the Ninjetti. She will never lose to the like of you."

Terranort scoffed at her deceleration as he brought her face close to his. "We'll have to see about that but first saw farewell to your friends." He looked back up at Aqua and Ven who were on the verge of passing out as he lifted them higher into the air.

"No!" Sora shouted as he continued to struggle, well Shisui growled as he also tried to get free.

They all hear Ven mutter as a single tear fell from his eye. "Terra… I kept my promise." With that Terranort let the two of them fall.

They never hit the ground as Terra's giant heartless swopped in and caught them both, gathering the chains in one hand. He glared at the surprised Terranort, braking the chains releasing all of them, which caused Shisui and Sora a bit of surprise but they landed on their feet just fine. They watched Terra carefully put Aqua and Ven down, Shisui running over to Aqua's side, worried about her. "How?!" Terranort demanded as he threw Jessica away, making Terra growl as he saw her land roughly a few feet way. "You fell to the dark-"

Terra cut him off as he appeared behind him and grabbed him around the head and lifted Terranort up, before he tried to get a grip on the crossed strips of cloth over his mouth. When he did get the strips pulled off he cleared his throat before he spoke. "One day… I… will… set… this… right…" he held Terranort at arm's length not bothered by the struggles from the man possessing his body. "One day… I will set… this right. I will return to this land… and protect… my friends!"

The hollow heart shape in his heartless started to glow and Sora knew what to do as he shot Terranort in the back with a powerful beam of light from his keyblade. "Terra, now!"

That was all the incentive Terra needed as he let go of the darkness, his heartless form fading and his heart returned to his body. Jessica smiled as she watched Terra land in his feet, staring at his hands, almost in not believing that he was looking at them. Then he shot up straight as he remembered Aqua and Ven, running towards them, calling their names. Shisui helped Aqua to sit up as she stirred well Terra knelt and picked up Ven. Jessica smiled as she held her fading arm, watching as her three friends' rejoiced in his return. Then Terra looked over his shoulder and at her making her stop in her tacks a foot from them.

In a flash Terra grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him, capturing her mouth in a heated kiss, taking everyone by surprise. Jessica returned his passion as she wrapped her arms around his neck bring them closer, happy to feel the familiar spark in her chest. All the while both Ven and Sora both turned red as they looked away, well Shisui and Aqua smiled at the moment. When they finally came up for air Terra held all three of his precious friends close, not ashamed as tears fell. "Thank you." He simply said as held them close.

Sora and Shisui smiled at the sight, glade for them but Sora knew he couldn't just stand there for long. "Aqua and Ventus need rest. Terra, Shisui you look after them and Jessica, it was a pleasure to meet you." Not sure how but Sora knew he wouldn't see the red head again once he left. Jessica smiled at him as they all got to their feet.

"No Sora, I'm going too." Ven told him as he made to run after him but stumbled causing Jessica to catch him and hold him close.

"That's what he wants. For us to make a mistake." Sora told him truthfully. "Put ourselves in danger."

"Sora, go. We'll catch up with you." Aqua told him as Shisui put a hand on her shoulder nodding, as Terra did.

"Right I got this." Sora said before he continued on his way.

Jessica gave a soft laugh. "He sure wonderful young man." She said, to which they all agreed. "Well its time that I go too."

"No, you can't go Jessica!" Ven shouted as he turned and looked up at Jessica sadly. "We just found each other again!"

Jessica was touched by this as she wrapped her arms around him. "I would love to stay and be with you all but I died 4 years ago. I'm a part of the Light Shard and the heart of the Morphing grid, until the day Alex doesn't need me anymore. The crystalized portion that Aqua was given only allowed me to come back this one time, when you all needed me." She stroked Ven's hair as he clung to her, well the others saw that she had begun to fade.

Terra felt his heart breaking as the realization hit him, that Jessica would soon be gone from his life forever. "Ventus, I am so glade that you finally regained what Xehanort took from you and how strong you have become. If things hadn't taken the turn that they had, you would have been Alex's older brother, instead of her uncle." That made Ven chuckle as he remembered Alex's reaction to his outburst back at Yen Sid's Tower the other day, well he pulled out of Jessica's arms. She placed a gentle kiss on his forehead before she turned and embraced the teary eyed Aqua.

"Aqua you are the sister I always wanted and I'm happy for you and Shisui. However if he breaks your heart I'll tell Alex to break his neck before her big brothers and fellow rangers can stop her." Jessica may have whispered this to Aqua bit all of them could hear her and the boys were all smiling as the girls let each other go Jessica turned to Shisui. "You be good to her, you hear me."

Shisui chuckled nervously. "Yes ma'am."

Jessica then turned to Terra he walked up to her, looking down at her fading form. "Is there really no way you can stay?" he asked well taking both of her hands in his own.

Jessica shook her head well looking away from him. "Death is not something anyone can come back from. Though I am sorry as I have left you with such a mess that is our daughter. She has endured so much pain before and after I died before, Riku and others stepped into her life and helped her. She will need you all soon as like you 4 she is Ninjetti but that alone will not be enough to defeat Drakkon. She will need all of your strength now and in the future. Terra please be patient with her as she only learned a few days ago that you are her biological father. So she will need time to get use to the idea and to you."

Terra nodded in understanding as he made Jessica look at him, taking in her sad but beautiful face for what he feared would be the last time. "What did you and Ben end up naming her?"

Jessica smiled at him as Terra cupped her face with a hand, and she retched up to hold that hand. "Alexandria Maria Smith but she likes to go by Alex and she's add the name Scott as she was adopted by a very kind family. You'll all get the whole story later."

"You named her after my mother and your grandmother." Terra said smiling as she nodded, letting him pull her into his arms. "It's a beautiful and strong name." He then kissed her, despite the fact that she was almost gone.

"I love you Jessica." he told her, one last time.

"I love you too." She whispered back to him and then she was gone. Terra, Aqua and Ven all were silent as they took a moment to morn Jessica. Shisui was also quiet, holding Aqua as he gave her comfort and all of them the time they needed. Finally they were able to regain their composure and dried their tears.

"Alright. If you guys are rested enough I have a daughter I'm long overdue to meet." Terra said leading the way down a passage. As they ran Terra fell into step with Shisui. "So who are you and what are your intentions regarding Aqua?"

Alex and Riku had been running for what felt like an hour, not coming across any one in that time which seemed odd. Then they retched an open area near the middle of the maze and that is where he was waiting. Drakkon stood there morphed, sword held his hands in front of him. "I was beginning to wonder if you were going to make it here little keeper. I'm glad that my wait hasn't been in vain." He said as they could hear the evil smile on his face behind the mask of his helmet.

Alex glared at him, well stopping Riku from summing his keyblade. "Go on ahead Riku. I know you want to go finish things with Ansem." She told him, not taking her eyes off the monster before her.

Riku looked from her, to Drakkon's imposing figure and back to her. "Are you sure Alex?"

Alex's eyes shifted to him and she winked. "Positive."

RIku nodded giving her hand a squeeze. "I love you Alex. Kick his butt." with that he ran off down a passage way he was sure would lead him the center of the maze, Ansem and Xahanort. Alex stared after him as that was the first time Riku had ever said that he loved her.

Alex walked towards Drakkon grasping the Light Shard willing it power, the power of her power coin, and her Ninjetti animal spirit to twist around her. "Are you ready to lose everything little girl?" Drakkon asked her as he also walked forward.

"I'm afraid that you're very wrong Drakkon. You are the one that will be defeated here and stopped once and for all. Phoenix Take Flight!" she morphed and charged at him, her twin swords clenched in her hands. Drakkon also charged at her and soon their blades and energies clashed causing a wave to resonate throughout the area. Far on top of the mountain at the center of the maze, Xahenort smiled.
