Disclaimer: I do not own Batman or anything else you may recognize. I only own Liam Stark and any other OC's.
Thank you to everyone who has favirouted, followed or reviewed this fic so far.
And now we are at the last chapter of this story, and this is gonna be a bunch of post-credits scenes to set up some sequels here and there, so I hope all enjoy these.
Super Shadow 2018: Thanks for the review. I might continue this in Phase 4, and we will see. We shall see on your suggestion. This is the final chapter of this story, and I think you will love all 4 scenes. And please tell me what you think of the third scene, as it is very important.
SupergodzillaSailorCosmos: Thanks for the review. Earth-38 is the world of Supergirl and Keanu Reeves' Constantine. I am updating my profile soon to give a list of worlds and characters, so not going to be putting it in my chapters.
Chapter 9- A meeting and a Harbinger
Earth-1, Arkham Asylum.
Joker laughed to himself as he sat in his cell, plotting out revenge schemes. As he thought out his plan, the door to his cell unbolted and a figure stood there.
Joker shot to his feet as he looked at the newcomer. He was garbed in black combat boots, a brown leather jacket which covered body armour and there were two guns at his side.
A red hood and face mask obscured his face as he looked at Joker.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Joker asked. "Some circus freak gone wrong?"
"You damaged me, Joker", the figure said calmly. "You tore apart my life, made me think Batman was the enemy."
Joker's eyes widened at hearing that.
"Robin?" he asked.
"No longer Robin", the figure shook his head. "I am now Red Hood."
With that, he pulled out a gun and shot Joker in the leg making him howl in pain as he hopped.
"That friggin hurt, man!" Joker howled.
"You will never cause any more trouble in Gotham." Red Hood said calmly.
He aimed his gun at Joker and pulled the trigger as blood shot out into the wall behind him and Joker slumped to the ground.
Putting his gun back into place, Red Hood walked out of the cell, passing the bodies of Hugo Strange, Man-Bat, Scarecrow and Two-Face, all of whom were now dead.
"It's time to get to work." Red Hood said as he walked away.
Los Angeles.
Stepping out of the car, Bruce, Liam, Selina, Kate and Dinah looked up at the house.
"You ready for this, Bruce?" Selina asked as he grabbed his hand and squeezed it.
"Let's do it." Bruce nodded as the five walked up and Bruce knocked on the door. It opened, revealing Barbara who smiled widely as she looked at them.
"Hey!" she greeted, hugging them all. "Please, come in."
She led them inside where Dick, Stephanie, Tim and Gordon were, all ready for the reunion party.
"Hey guys." Stephanie smiled as she hugged Liam and Selina and shook the others' hands.
"Well", Bruce said softly. "I'm glad we're all back together."
With that, they began to have dinner, finally reconciling with each other over what happened years ago.
Earth-199999, New York Sanctorum.
Doctor Strange and Wong stood together, solemn expressions on their faces. Then a breach opened and Gandalf walked out.
"Stephen, Wong", he greeted politely.
"Gandalf", Strange greeted, not using his nickname this time due to the serious matter.
"The others are about to arrive soon", Wong said and just then, Dean Winchester appeared on the scene, followed by his brother Sam.
"Hello Olórin", Dean greeted him by his Maia name while Sam looked a little bit awkward.
"Romestamo", Gandalf greeted back when an ankh appeared and then Doctor Fate was there.
That was followed by flames spewing from one area which then opened into a fiery portal and John Constantine walked out of, looking around at them all.
"We're still a few people short." He noted.
And that was when flames spewed from another area and out walked a dark-haired man wearing a suit, though his coat was unbuttoned and his tie was also waving around, while his shirt was untucked.
"Greetings, John Constantine of Earth-38", Gandalf said. "I believe you know that the Bruce Wayne of your Earth recently travelled to Earth-1."
"I am aware", John noted. "Though that threat has been neutralized at last."
That was when a sling ring opened, and out walked a brown-haired man dressed in a blue suit, an amulet hanging from his neck, a red cape flowing from him.
"Hello, Stephen Strange of Earth-96", Strange said as he held out his hand.
"Hello there, Stephen Strange of Earth-199999", Stephen said as he shook it before looking at him. "I know of the recent battle on Earth-911111."
With a grim look, Stephen then said. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"And you would be right to", Wong said. "We are here to discuss an important matter."
Strange spoke the matter's name in two words.
"The Void."
"What is the Void exactly?" Gandalf asked.
"Screaming into existence with the birth of the Multiverse, the Void is a manifestation of the unknowable nothingness that lies beyond. It is a force of insatiable hunger, waiting through the eons until its masters, the mysterious Watchers, mark the final time of undoing." Strange said grimly.
"From what I gathered, it attacked Earth-92131 twice in the past and was defeated both times." Constantine said and Strange nodded.
"The first was over 8000 years ago", Strange said. "The ancient Watchers tried to breach this dimension and almost succeeded, thanks to the efforts of Lissandra, the Ice Witch."
"But they were defeated." Dean guessed, to which Strange nodded with Stephen taking over.
"Thanks to the combined efforts of Gnar, the Missing Link and Ornn, the Fire Below the Mountain, the Watchers were defeated and were entombed beneath unbreakable ice." Stephen said.
"The Watchers that weren't imprisoned crafted the first Voidborn prototypes, the oldest living one being Vel'Koz, the Eye of the Void." Strange added.
"While many believed the Watchers were dead, they were merely imprisoned in a magical stasis of unbreakable ice in the far North of Runeterra. Now with each runic symbol fading, the Watchers will return." Stephen said grimly.
Doctor Fate then took over. "And the second attempt was 5500 years later, during the reign of the Empire of Shurima. The nation of Icathia unleashed the Void in battle, which resulted in its destruction. It took many years and thousands of Ascended to seal the largest rifts."
"Ascended?" Sam asked in confusion.
"God-Warriors", Stephen explained. "Gifted to Shurima by the Celestial Empire of Targon, Ascended are humans altered by Celestial magic."
"Ah!" Sam nodded in understanding.
"Many of Runeterra's Champions have had encounters with the Void." Wong added.
"Indeed. Aatrox, Nasus, Pantheon, Renekton, Rhaast, Ryze and Varus have all fought multiple Voidborn in the past", Stephen said. "Malphite was created by the Ascended being known as Ne'Zuk, and is still trying to fight the Void until this very day. And both Jax and Zilean come from the Void-ruined city of Icathia."
"And during her many years on Runeterra, Sara Lance of Earth-96 also fought multiple Voidborn and traveled to Icathia." Strange added.
"She is one of the few people who have witnessed the power of the Void", Stephen said. "She found her way to the forgotten city following the scant breadcrumbs hidden in ancient texts. Within a decaying cyclopean city, Sara fought Cho'Gath, Terror of the Void but lost."
"But the Void was never truly defeated." Gandalf said in realization.
"No," Strange said grimly. "It was not. It is merely slumbering, waiting for the day it can unleash itself not only upon Runeterra, but also across the rest of the Multiverse."
"In the abyssal darkness, deep underground, it is believed that the first great Void creatures to walk the surface of Runeterra now lie, dormant and unseen", Stephen said. "If that is true, then they have waited patiently and now it is time for them to rise once more."
"And thousands of years ago, it was decreed that the Watchers will return during Braum's lifetime." Dr Fate added.
"With these weakening dimensional barriers, it would be much easier for the Void to strike wherever it wants", John said. "And this time, it will take more then simple magic tricks to stop it."
"We are still trying to seal barriers, but the Multiverse is a huge place, it is going to be a long time before we successfully seal all of them, years, mate, years", Constantine shook his head as he smoked a cigarette.
"It can be any world the Watchers choose to strike, mine, yours, the Void is everywhere", Stephen said. "We have to be ready."
"We will be", Fate said. "But not everyone will be ready for it."
"The Celestials have known of this threat for billions of years, and are still trying to make preparations for it", Strange told them. "But I fear to say even the Celestials will not be able to defeat an enemy this powerful."
"Which means we will need everybody we know when the time comes", Sam said. "Everybody."
"I agree, Sam." Fate said.
"Can we trust all of Runeterra's Champions?" Wong asked. "What about the Noxian Champions and those from the Shadow Isles?"
Doctor Fate looked at everyone and said. "There is no middle ground. There are those that are against the Void and those that side with it. Everyone will have to decide where they will be when it all ends."
Fate then continued. "Though before Runeterra came into being, there never was such bravery. Nor strength of hand or weaponry."
"And what about Sara Lance of Earth-96?" Dean asked.
"She will know what to do", Stephen said. "She had a beautiful journey during her years on Runeterra. And she once told me and I quote, "Before I ended up on Runeterra, I was finding myself, and I didn't know I was lost.""
Strange looked at everyone and said. "Now, we all have work to do."
Earth-3415, England.
A woman hummed as she walked into her home. She appeared to be in her early 20s but had a familiar look. The eyes of someone who had seen centuries of life flow before them.
She was clad in dark blue jeans, with a leather jacket on and her hair was tied back into a ponytail.
As she sat down on a chair, a familiar flashing sound was heard behind her and the woman took a deep breath. "It would be helpful if you gave me a little warning before you showed up."
"If I did, would I need you?" the figure asked in a booming voice.
"Yes you do." The woman turned to face him with a stern look. "You need me, because otherwise the Multiverse would be doomed."
"Not entirely", the figure chuckled. "I have another ally who works for me, though not so much anymore."
"That Stark boy, right?" the woman guessed.
"Yes." The figure confirmed.
"Then why do you need me?" the woman asked.
"Because, Nimue, Queen of the Fey", the figure said. "You are destined to be the Harbinger."
"Harbinger." Nimue muttered. "Haven't heard that one in a long time."
"You know of recent events, including the Dusting", the figure said. "Events are drawing to a grand climax. Perhaps the upcoming conflicts are needed for the Crisis to come."
Nimue scoffed. "You know, you should really attempt to put as much energy into stopping this Crisis as you do in preparing for it."
"It cannot be stopped." The figure said coldly. "It can be delayed but it will come eventually. And I believe that Jason Stark and the other Heroes of the Multiverse may be a key to the proper victory."
"And which victory is 'proper' in your mind?" Nimue crossed her arms. "Because I don't like being someone's pawn in a much bigger game where I barely understand the rules or players."
"You volunteered, Queen of the Fey", the figure reminded in a flat tone that managed to sound chiding even if flat. "You made your mistake long ago, and you being my Harbinger may be your price."
"Which I despise paying off." Nimue muttered. "What happens now?"
"A conflict is coming up, a game of doom", the figure said. "You need to seek out the Heroes for this and join them in stopping this threat along with others that will come up."
"Fine", Nimue sighed. "Give me some time before I do, Mar-Novu."
"Yes, I will", Mar-Novu agreed.
"What about the Champions of Runeterra?" Nimue asked.
"I have seen the team that is assembled. If they want a midnight sky, rolling high, they must take a trip on a whim, they will not have a worry for a million miles, flying off, be right back." Mar-Novu said.
"Oh boy!" Nimue rolled her eyes. "Please leave me for now. I need to think."
"But of course", Mar-Novu allowed. "I shall see you again soon enough."
With that, Mar-Novu turned on his heel to march out of the room, leaving Nimue the Fey Queen alone to her thoughts.
And this ends another tale.
Now to discuss each of the scenes-
For the first scene, Joker is now dead, killed by Jason Todd who has become Red Hood now. I had no further plans for Joker in this series, so decided to kill him off.
The second scene was really just meant to show the Bat-Family reconciling with each other.
For the third scene, I have said that I would be doing a story featuring the Void from League of Legends being the main villain, and now I have started building up to it. The Void story will be the final story of Phase 2.
Also, in case any don't know, Runeterra is the world of League of Legends. And yes, I also put in some teasers for my prequel story centered on Earth-96 Sara Lance.
And then we have the fourth scene. Yes, I have added the Netflix show 'Cursed' to this verse, and Nimue is working for Mar-Novu as the Harbinger.
Now as for why I didn't have Arrowverse Lyla be Harbinger in this, IMO, the revelation of her working with Mar-Novu leaves one with a bit of a sour taste on her, because you have to wonder if she had been manipulating Oliver and Diggle for years.
But Nimue being Harbinger in this series actually works out much better and makes much more sense.
So now the next story in this series will be a surprise, but I think you will love it. All I will say is that it will officially introduce Cursed into this series.
So I hope all look forward to that story as well as the others in Phase 2.
Thank you to everyone who favirouted, followed, read or reviewed this story and gave me love and support and kind words as I wrote it. Your support always means a lot. Thank you.
Until next time.
Stay safe everyone.
