Okay, so here's the new chapter. I will try to update daily, nowadays. (But I can't be very sure)
ANNABETH
Percy didn't look willing to share whatever it was. And she didn't force him.
"Okay then" she said, "Don't tell me if you don't want to." They were nearing Percy's house. "But never forget Percy," she told him, "I am always there. You can share anything you want with me open heartedly."
"Yeah" he kept his eyes focused on the road though she was the one driving. He doesn't want to tell me, she realized, let it be.
They reached his house and that was the end of the silence. And the end of my time with him. Even though the silence had been choking her, somewhere she had been enjoying even that.
"See you tomorrow morning then" Percy said as he got out of the car, "It was great to have a dinner with you."
She acknowledged him and drove home. She changed and sat with a novel in her hand. Her mind went to the hoodie that was kept in her cupboard. The hoodie that Percy had given to her.
She had decided to return it to him the very next day but she couldn't part with it. She had folded it herself and kept it nicely in her cupboard.
I will return it to him tomorrow, she thought, it's not well of me to keep it with me for such a long time. I'll return it to him tomorrow morning.
Not a single voice was to be heard and Annabeth Chase slept peacefully that night.
REYNA
She went to the college just like any other day. She was busy. Thinking. About him. Am I not clear enough?! Will I myself have make the first move?! Is he that dumb?!
She reached the parking lot but she didn't reach a conclusion.
The rest of the day was just another normal day of Reyna Avila Ramirez Allerano.
The lunch was as interesting as usual. Jason and Piper were nowhere to be seen. "They are having a quickie in the wing that's closed for maintenance" Leo whispered to them which caused all of them to burst out laughing. Reyna noticed that Annabeth had felt a little bit uneasy at the cheesy comment. She's a sweet girl.
Percy and Leo insisted that they would go and have a sneak on the couple but one look from Calypso was enough for Leo to lose all his curiosity.
Percy was about to go and check the thing out all alone but he was then summoned by Coach Hedge for some work. And that was the end of it.
The real thing happened at the end of the day. She found a hand-written note in her backpack. She didn't know how, but it was there.
Written with a blue marker and with an ordinary handwriting. Meet me at college's backyard after you're done with the day's work.
She showed the note to Calypso who smiled knowingly at her. She had confided her feelings about Percy only to Calypso.
She had heard the rumour that Calypso had earlier had a crush on Percy (Like many other girls, but this one had been a different one. Or so the whisperers would have her believe.), so she went to her to clarify the air. Calypso had very easily accepted the rumour.
"It aint no rumour" Calypso had told her, "It's the truth"
"Then why are you dating Leo?" Reyna had asked the girl.
"You see Reyna" Calypso had told her with a heavy voice, "You don't always get what you want in life" her voice seemed sadly happy, "I had a crush on Percy. A very strong one, I must say. I confided my feelings to him. But he told me that he never felt anything for me." She had shaken her head then, "He didn't lie to me. He told me everything truly. Right from how he thought that I was hot to the queer tradition of his."
She had smiled then. A sad, happy, contended, unsatisfied smile. "He also told me that I would be his biggest if" she had been on the verge of crying then, "but that's not how things go in life. You can plan your life all that you want, but you can never hope to execute that plan, Reyna."
She had stifled, "And now here I am. Dating Leo Valdez. I feel for Leo. But the way I felt for Percy, I never felt like that for anyone. Even Leo knows that. And he's okay with it. And I love him all that I can.
"Leo's a good lad, you know. And a very talented one." Calypso had smiled a real smile then. That smile of hers on which many boys were flattered. "And I am happy to be with him. But the girl who'll be with Percy, she'll be the luckiest person in the world." And Calypso had started to walk away then.
Just then Reyna had called out to her, "What's the tradition that you mentioned earlier?"
"Oh" Calypso had turned, "Percy wears a locket. A 'P' shaped one. And he removes that locket every time he kisses a girl. Or whenever he sleeps with one."
"Sleeps with one?"
"Hook-up" Calypso had replied casually, "We all have them. And it's ok to have 'em, I guess, but only when you are single." She had added quickly, "Haven't you ever had a hook-up?" Calypso had asked her then.
"I- uh" Reyna had blushed a deep red then.
"No words needed" and Calypso had walked away.
Reyna needed to pack her things and rush to the back yard. She bid her goodbyes to Jason, Piper, Leo and Calypso. Percy was nowhere to be seen. As expected. But she also couldn't even find Annabeth.
She let that thought remain as she rushed to her car. She dumped her backpack, and started towards the backyard of the school.
The sun was hugging the horizon and the gloom was waking. She increased the pace of her footsteps. If he's planning on making the move on me, I better not be late.
Okay so, what did you feel about the chapter? The next chapter will be out as soon as possible. I hope to post them as fast as possible, but it's hard. Hope you people will understand. :)
Till then, Stay Home, Stay Safe and Keep Reading.
