Chapter 11: Intervention: Part Two
"Sensei?" Ron was surprised to see Sensei wherever he was.
"We don't need you anymore, old man." Zorpox said.
"That will be a problem, you omitted several of the memories of him." Sensei said to Zorpox, then turned to look at Ron. "Stoppable-San, now you come with me."
Ron's environment changed once more, now he was sitting in the armchair in his tree house, and Kim was there wearing a short-sleeved blue blouse, brown pants, and matching shoes. Ron recognized this scene, it was the night before prom, Kim had stopped by to see him to clarify some things about Eric.
"It was fun when we were kids, right?" Kim had said.
"Yes." Ron said nonchalantly. "You and me nothing else."
"Hey, I remember this." Kim said she said upon finding a familiar hat with a raccoon tail. "Ron the happy camper."
"Infestipolis, the worst summer of my life."
"I know I know, the insects, the toxic lake, the poison ivy, your mom stopped receiving your calls."
"Yes, all those things were bad, but I tell you it was worse, spending a whole summer away from you."
There was an awkward silence, Ron decided to break the silence by offering Kim some chimiritos.
"Want one? I only buy to go now. That little devil ruined everything. "
"Maybe it's something more than Good Nacho that's bothering you." Kim said.
Ron's eyes snapped open and he started to get nervous. "Are you talking about Eric? Oh no. Why would he have a problem with Eric? I'm fine with Eric. " Ron began to hyperventilate.
Kim walked over to Ron and touched him. "Ron, Eric is not going to change what we have, we will always be united."
"Oh, what nice words." Zorpox said when he appeared on the scene and approached Ron. "But in the end that was nothing more than hypocrisy. We went to the prom to ask her for help, and she turned her back on us, she abandoned us just like the others abandoned us."
"She abandoned him, not you." Sensei corrected Zorpox when he entered the scene. "But that's not the point, and I will prove it."
The picture changed again, now Ron was looking at his version of 12 years that he had in front of Kim and Walter Nelson, but something was not right. While it was true that Kim and Walter Nelson had decided to kiss, but somehow their brakes got stuck.
The 12-year-old Ron was struck by a multitude of mixed emotions. He felt betrayed, Kim knew how much he wanted to go to the cinema to see the movie with her, but she decided to go with someone else. He wanted to laugh at the situation, seriously, Kim and Walter looked pretty ridiculous. He wanted to turn around and leave, if Kim was too busy for him, why should he have time to help her?
In the distance, Sensei and Zorpox watched the events unfold.
"Hahahaha, does this prove your point?" Zorpox laughed.
"Just wait, watch him get revenge." Sensei said.
The 12-year-old Ron pondered for a moment, Kim may not have been acting like a best friend to him lately, but that didn't mean he was going to respond the same way, especially when he saw how her cheeks he were flushed. Ron realized that Kim was embarrassed, not just because of the situation, but because she knew how hurt she must feel seeing her at the movies with Walter.
Finally, 12-year-old Ron came to the conclusion. "I think I'd better call you mom, Kim." he finally said.
Kim's eyes widened even more. She tried to shake her head, but Walter didn't like it and she let out a confused sound of pain.
"Do not do it!" Kim tried to say.
Ron looked at Kim and Walter and their mouths. It was then that he realized that if Kim's parents saw her like this, she would be in trouble. He was pretty sure that she would be punished for the rest of her life.
"Okay," Ronnie suggested, "I'd better call my mom."
After a few minutes, Ms. Stoppable went to pick up the boys from the cinema theater and came across something unexpected. Ronnie explained in detail what was happening.
Then Mrs. Stoppable looked at Kim and Walter and shook her head. She then she looked at her son. "Please mom," Ronnie begged. "Just this once, please do this."
"I don't know, Ronnie," she said, her arms crossed over her chest. "I still think I should call Mrs. Possible, then take Kim to her orthodontist."
"Mom, if you do that, her parents punished her. But if you take her to an orthodontist, they won't have to know, it will be our secret." He begged.
"Ronnie, you don't understand ..."
"No, Mom, you don't understand." Ronnie said with conviction. "Kim is my best friend. And best friends help each other, right?" He said turning to Kim, who, unable to think of a way to reply, gave him a thumbs up.
Those words echoed through 15-year-old Ron's head, "Best friends help each other," but who were he and Kim now? Did he consider her a friend at least?
But putting that aside, he continued to reflect, he had helped Kim that time because it was the right thing to do, as well as so many people who didn't even treat him well, but still he helped them, because it was the right thing to do. But now he wondered, what was the right thing to do in his current life?
Returning to the scene, Ronnie kept waiting for the response from his mother. After what seemed like an eternity, his mother spoke.
"Okay Ronnie, I'll take them to an orthodontist." Mrs. Stoppable said at last.
"Thank you." Ronnie sighed.
The scene disappeared, and Ron found Sensei next to him.
"And that was just the beginning." Sensei told Ron.
Ron began to remember all the times he helped people who were his friends, those who weren't his friends, people who hated him, and so many others; but all the same, because as he had said before: it was the right thing to do.
Zorpox appeared on the scene and approached Ron.
"It is true, no one has denied the great work we have done, but how we have been paid." He said. "We have no money, no girls, and we certainly don't have any real friends; it's just you and me."
"Oh yeah?" Sensei said. "Hey I have a different opinion."
Ron turned to look at the other side and saw that there were his parents, Tara, Monique, the Tweebs, Mr. Barkin, Betty Director, Yori and so many others who had supported him.
"Sensei is right, I am not alone in this." Ron told Zorpox. "And I'm not going to change who I am to become bitter."
"You cannot reject what you already are." Zorpox said.
"Go after him, Stoppable-San." Sensei told Ron.
Ron took a defensive stance in charge against Zorpox. Zorpox tried to sidestep, but Ron caught up with him with a kick to the chest and Zorpox fell to the ground.
"Are you sure you don't want to leave?" Ron asked.
"Leave?" Zorpox asked back. "Where do you think we are?"
Suddenly Zorpox grew to the size of a skyscraper. "I have already taken root within your body, soul and mind."
Ron took a defensive stance, but felt he was sinking, he looked down and saw how the ground slowed him down like quicksand.
"It's what you want, right? To be in the background, to be forgotten? Well that's what you'll get. " Zorpox continued saying. "Don't bother fighting, you are weak, you have always been weak and you will be weak until you let me take control."
Ron was sinking lower and lower, almost all of his body had been swallowed up by the mud, only his face and arms were missing.
Suddenly someone took Ron by the arm and pulled him out of the mud, and that someone was Sensei.
"You are wrong, he is much stronger than you think." Sensei said to Zorpox.
"Sensei is right, I am stronger than you think." Ron said.
Suddenly Ron saw how a blue aura surrounded him, Ron knew what it was, it was the mystical power of the monkey.
"Time to make the chimichangas." Ron said.
Zorpox threw a punch towards Ron, but Ron avoided the blow with a jump and landed on Zorpox's arm.
Ron ran up Zorpox's arm, and he tried to catch Ron with his free hand, Ron jumped onto Zorpox's other arm.
With another leap, Ron pulled himself together to land a blow to Zorpox's face, knocking him down in the process.
Zorpox returned to normal size, Ron approached him but Zorpox knocked him down with his legs. Zorpox lunged at Ron to hit him but Ron pushed him back using both of his legs.
They were left in defensive postures for a moment, Zorpox attacked again with a blow to Ron's face. Zorpox immediately rushed Ron, knocking him to the ground, pinning him under his own weight as he plunged his fist into Ron's face. "I don't understand how you can live like this? Being forgotten" Another blow. "A nobody."
Ron caught the next punch in his hand even as he struck out with his free hand, knocking Zorpox down. "It was never about attention or recognition, it's about what I do, and what I do is do the right thing. People who care about me know who I am and what I do. If the rest of the world can't see what they do, then it's not my problem. "
"Oh God, here comes the sermon." Zorpox rolled his eyes, he and Ron got to their feet at the same time, then the two began to exchange blows.
"Can't you see it?" Zorpox continued saying. "You can only be someone if you let me take control."
"And once again, no thanks." Ron replied. "All that hatred and revenge has consumed you, you only want to hurt the people who 'have hurt us, but Sensei was right, we are not the same person."
Ron hit Zorpox with a hook to the jaw and a kick to the jaw.
"Now you consider yourself the abandoned one." Ron said when Zorpox fell to the ground.
"This does not mean my end." Zorpox said.
"Even if you don't go completely, at least I won't have to listen to you anymore." Ron said.
Zorpox didn't say anything, just growled. Then he disappeared in blue smoke, and when he was gone, Ron breathed a sigh of relief.
"Stoppable-San." Sensei said when he appeared on the scene. "Are you ready."
"Does that mean I'm refined now?" Ron asked.
"In a way, but you still have to meet with Possible-San so they can prevent all this tragedy."
"Mmmm ... Sensei." Ron said something dubious. "I think it's best if I do this alone."
"Stoppable-San, it is necessary for you and Possible-San to solve their problems so that they can prevent that Dr. Drakken from taking control of the entire world."
"Sensei, I don't understand why it is so necessary for me to fix my problems with Kim, besides, I'm not the one who should fix something."
Sensei sighed. "I didn't expect to tell you now, but I think it's best that I do now." Sensei took out a green stone that was glowing. "This is a fragment of the Tempus Simia, although the original Tempus Simia was divided to prevent the user from using it to travel through time as well as the crystal that empowered it, but only a small part of the crystal allows the wearer to travel to the past in a single trip. "
"Right ..." Ron tried to understand.
"If you go to the past alone, you will be the only person who remembers what once happened."
Ron began to understand, if he went to the past alone no one would remember what happened, and he would meet the same people with the same people who turned their back on him.
"I understand why you would say that Sensei, but I can find more people that I can trust."
"It may be true what you say, but you will need at least one person who also knows what once happened."
"Mmm, I don't know, Sensei."
Sensei put a hand on Ron's shoulder. "I know I can't force you to decide what to do, but whatever you decide I hope you are at peace with those who once turned their backs on you."
"I'll think about it." Ron said.
"Well, until then, I think it's time to go home."
"Yes, and how do we do that?"
"The same way you entered your mind."
Ron took a breath and closed his eyes. When he opened them, he found himself in the dojo.
Ron sighed, there were many things he had to think about before starting the journey towards him, he didn't know what to do first.
He got up from the ground and started to leave, but before he walked through the door of the dojo Kim suddenly appeared.
"Ron." she started. "We can talk?"
N/A:Here is another chapter, this chapter and the previous one were based on the episode 'Intervention' from the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. Now we just need to know what Ron will do and what Kim was doing during the time that Ron was meditating. I hope you have enjoyed this chapter before closing the year.
