The sunlight blared through the curtains of their bedroom and the warmth from the sun fell against her skin. Anna opened her eyes as she rolled over to find the space next to her empty. Her heart ached while she thought that David was gone to work again. She rolled off the bed. The sound of soft singing echoed through the house. Anna looked at the alarm clock to see the time, noticing it was already early afternoon.
Anna walked into the living room to find David on the couch with Olivia asleep on his chest. She leaned down and kissed the top of her husband's head.
"Thought you'd be at work." She whispered.
He looked up at her, shaking his head.
"After last night, I figured I'd stay with you both." He smiled as he held Olivia tight to his chest.
Anna sat down in the chair with her knees tucked into her chest. She just kept her eyes on her husband and their daughter, a soft smile on her lips. This is all she had ever wanted in her life, for her and David both.
David looked over at his wife.
"You ever think about another kid?" He looked down at Olivia asleep on his chest.
Anna smiled at the thought. Of course, she wanted a big family but she didn't think it was quite time for another one. She wanted to give Olivia the chance to grow and have all the attention on her, at least until she started school.
"Always do. But I want Olivia to at least be in school before we have another one." Anna sighed softly.
David nodded his head in thought and the living room fell silent. Anna's phone buzzed across the table and she caught it quickly, hoping it didn't wake Olivia. She moved into the kitchen to answer the phone call.
It was Gemma on the other end of the line.
"You should come over tonight, bring David and Olivia, we're havin' a big family dinner." Her mother explained.
"I think we might can swing by." Anna whispered.
"Good, great, we'll see you tonight!" Gemma was quick to hang up the phone.
Anna moved back into the living room and she sat down at David's feet.
"Who was that?" He asked, shifting Olivia slowly.
"It was mom, they're doing dinner tonight and she invited us." Anna explained.
David nodded his head.
"It could be fun." He muttered, watching Olivia as she quietly snored on his chest.
The mention of the word 'fun' almost made Anna chuckle but she just smiled over at David.
"I guess I need to tell you what happened last night." He told her.
Anna looked over at David with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" She asked, concern laced in her voice.
"Well, there was a car bomb at TM last night." David started.
Anna's eyes doubled in size, nearly jumping off the couch.
"Is everyone okay?" She asked.
David clenched his teeth, unsure of how to answer.
"Chibs is the one who was hurt but he was taken to the hospital, last I heard he was still critical." He went on.
Of course Anna had distanced herself from everyone in the club but it didn't make her heart hurt any less. She loved the club as much as she loved her own family, if not more. Each of them had taken part in raising her, especially when she ran away from home when Clay or Gemma was constantly on her ass.
"That's insane." She sighed and pulled her knees into her chest.
Her mind drifted back to their conversation from the previous night. What if moving wasn't the worst idea for them? Anna wanted to keep her family safe and the way things were going in Charming kept her constantly on edge.
The sound of cooing and a small yawn alerted them that Olivia was awake. Anna picked her up and held her in her arms.
"Good mornin' sunshine." Anna smiled brightly at her little girl.
Olivia rested her hands on both sides of Anna's face.
"Morin' mama." Olivia tried her best to return the sentiment.
David sat up as he pulled both of his girls into a tight hug.
"No matter what, I'm goin' to keep you both safe." He whispered, loud enough only for Anna to hear.
Anna trusted him with her life, that was a part of their wedding vows. Her love for him knew no bounds. David was her best friend and her soulmate. She leaned forward to kiss him.
"I'm gonna go ahead and get us ready for dinner." Anna rose to her feet, adjusting Olivia on her hip.
Anna grabbed a grey tank top and a pair of jeans from her closet, along with an orange cardigan. She changed clothes before she carried Olivia into her room. She sat her daughter down on the changing table.
"Yay or nay?" Anna chuckled, holding up a few different outfits.
Olivia landed on black leggings and a white SAMCRO onesie, along with a grey cardigan. Once Anna had her daughter changed, she grabbed a black headband, placing it on Olivia's head. The little girl clapped her hands together.
David came to the door, leaning against the frame to look at both his wife and daughter.
"Well don't y'all clean up nice?" He smiled at Anna.
Anna moved between Olivia's room and her room, grabbing shoes for the both of them before they walked into the kitchen. Anna sat the girl down on the counter before she moved to the fridge as she struggled to come up with something to bring to dinner.
David changed into a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt, along with a pair of boots. He snuck back into the kitchen and his hand snaked its way around Anna's waist. It was rare when he wasn't in his uniform and Anna could appreciate it. She turned around in his arms, her hands rested on his chest.
"I could get used to you in normal clothes." Anna smirked, kissing his cheek.
David chuckled and Olivia reached for him. He picked her up and sat her in his lap while they both watched Anna scramble around the kitchen.
"What are you doin'?" He asked, his brows knitted together.
"I have to bring something, or I'll never hear the end of it." Anna sighed.
"We can stop somewhere and grab something." David suggested.
That was the easy way. Anna pursed her lips in consideration. She threw her boots on and fastened Olivia's shoes before grabbing her purse.
"Alright, let's go then." She grabbed her car keys, following David and Olivia out the front door.
