A/N: I only own the OC.
Thank you for all the reviews! I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and I hope that 2021 is better than 2020 for all of us.
I texted Becky from the safety of the backroom of a friends coffee shop. I had made a phone call for help and told Becky to split up. She had gone one way and I went the other. People followed both of us, but I finally got onto a train unnoticed. I had gotten off near Westminster and was hiding. I was grateful that my friend understood, and was happy for me; but let me hide until I could get a ride out of here. Becky had just texted me that she made it to her flat as I got a text that my ride was here. I glanced up and saw them outside. I hugged my friend and quickly got into the car.
"Thank you!" I said as they hugged me.
"I'm just glad you're ok." they said as we sped off into London traffic. I didn't care where we went right now just as long as I was away from here.
Drew POV
I sighed as I glanced at my phone. I had seen the news update and saw people chasing Jodi through the streets. I had tried to call and text her... but she wasn't answering. I wasn't sure what as going on. I just wanted to know that she was alright.
"What's going on?" Stu asked me as he came up with two pints. We were at the football game, and I was having trouble concentrating. I knew that she had been worried about the extra attention, and this was much worse than I had anticipated. People loved the royal family, and wanted to know everything about us. I had underestimated how much they would care that I was dating someone now.
"It's Jodi. She was chased through the streets, and now I can't get a hold of her. I can follow where they see her on a new twitter account. They lost her at a tube station near Trafalgar." I said and even he looked worried. I was glad that all my friends had accepted her and even liked her. Stephen thought she was nice. Finn and Vero couldn't wait to hang out again, and Stu hadn't put up any objections. He was usually the one who had the issues with people I date... and he was usually right. He was my best mate.
"I'm sure she will be ok. She might just be hiding somewhere." he reassured me and I nodded. I hoped that is what it was. We were watching the game in the skybox, and I was trying to concentrate, but I kept thinking about her. Vero and Finn had come to join us and Vero had immediately asked me about Jodi. I told her I hadn't heard anything and they tried to make me feel better as well.
"Sir, the princess is here." he said and I was surprised I had invited Liz if she wanted to come to avoid her husband. They didn't interact much if the children weren't home, and after seeing the Sun run another story that her husband was cheating again. We all stood up and I saw Liz walk in arm-in-arm with Jodi. I rushed over and hugged her.
"How did you find her?" I asked Liz as everyone else hugged Jodi as well.
"She called me." Liz said and I looked at Jodi with surprise.
"I'm sorry I should have called you, but I knew that you had this game." she said and I pulled her to me again. I didn't care who she called, but I was glad that she was alright. I was talking to her as Stu's phone rang. He answered it as I pulled her over to the seats.
"I'm sorry they were after you." I told her as Vero handed her a beer. Liz and Vero sat around her as Stu motioned that he needed to talk to me. I quickly stood up and walked over to him.
"They have decided that you all need to do a publicity shoot today with you and Jodi... if you are in fact dating." he said and I nodded.
"We are, and I think that's great. Can we do it here?" I asked him and he nodded.
"I will set it up, but you might want to inform her." he said and I nodded. I knew that he was right. I walked over and smiled at them.
"I need to borrow my girlfriend for a moment." I said as they all smiled at me. Jodi took my hand and I pulled her over to the side of the room as the game continued.
"Are you really alright?" I asked her and she nodded.
"I was scared, but I am grateful for your sister." she said and I smiled at her.
"They have advised that it might be good if we come out as a couple together today... so maybe people will stop bothering you. They can't speculate on what they know to be true." I said and she nodded, but I saw her eyes get wide at that statement.
"I wanted to make sure that this is what you wanted. I know that once this comes out as confirmed that people will still bother you, but I can help you make them go away." I said to her and she pursed her lips. I could tell that a lot was running through her brain. I glanced over and saw Liz looking at us with a confused expression. I motioned for her to come here. She quickly joined us.
"What is it, Jodi?" she asked her and I whispered to Liz what was going on as Jodi looked out at the game. I needed some help with this since I knew that it was overwhelming Jodi.
"Come on, let's run to the loo." Liz said and Jodi nodded as they walked away. Liz motioned for Vero to go with them, and I was glad that they were here to give her support.
"Is everything alright?" Stu asked me and I sighed as they walked out of the skybox.
"Jodi is overwhelmed at doing the pictures today." I said and he nodded.
"She's a commoner... she's not used to this. She is entitled to be overwhelmed." Finn said as he walked over to us. I nodded and knew that he was right. I had finally found a woman that I liked and now... she wasn't sure if she wanted to be with me. I knew that it was a lot of ask of someone that dated a royal, but I really hoped that Jodi was going to be alright with it.
Jodi POV
I was whatever was more than overwhelmed. I had been chased into a tube station and onto a train by people who thought I was dating the prince... I couldn't imagine what they were going to do when they found out that I actually was dating the prince. I knew that if I dated him then this would happen eventually, but I couldn't see it happening right now. A week ago I barely had one guy talking to me... now I had a prince and slept with his best friend. My life had changed a lot, and I didn't know if I could keep up with it.
"Jodi, are you alright?" Liz asked me as we walked into a very private and lavish bathroom.
"I honestly don't know." I said as Vero got a bottle of water out of a basket in the corner and handed it to me. I took it and gulped some down.
"It's ok to be overwhelmed." Vero said and I looked at her as she rubbed my back.
"I was when I started dating Finn. I had no idea how many people actually followed his life. I was chased down a bunch when we first got together, and they finally just accepted me. I know it's life changing, but I promise you I don't regret it in the least." Vero said and I nodded.
"Drew really likes you, Jodi. He knows that if you all come out as a couple then he can get you a bodyguard and someone to help you." Liz said and I sighed.
"It a lot to take in." I finally said and they nodded. We sat there a few more minutes before going back into the skybox. We walked in and they turned to look at us. I watched as Drew and Stu both studied me for a second.
"Are you alright?" Drew asked me and I nodded.
"Can we do this today?" Stu asked me and I opened my mouth... I honestly had no idea what would come out, but I knew that it would be the truth.
A/N: What did she decide?
