Remus POV
I woke up really tired the next morning. Every time the full moon comes up my body feels like it only got 1 hour of sleep, I've gotten use to it by now, but I still feel drowsy ever now and then.
I quickly woke up my friends, and I'm guessing they didn't want to be yelled at again so they woke up fast this time. We all got dressed, and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast. Because of my drowsiness I didn't feel like eating anything, so while my friends were piling their plate, I crossed my arms on the table and put my head down.
I knew my friends were staring at me so I came back up and slapped my face to stay active.
"Uh Remus, you ok?" Sirius asked while eating toast
"Yea, I'm fine I just didn't get enough sleep last night." I lied
"Yea, no kidding. Looks like you got less sleep than all of us." Said James
"You should probably eat something; it'll make you feel better." Peter suggested.
"No, its fine, I'm fine." I said hoping to convince my friends. But when they all looked at me like I was crazy, I grabbed a grape, and plopped it into my mouth. "Happy?" I asked. I knew they were only trying to look out for me but I was so tired that I started to get cranky.
"Ok, but don't say we didn't warn you." Said Sirius with a half-hearted grin.
We made our way too History of Magic, and even though I was tired I took notes so my friends wouldn't be too suspicious of me. Half way into class I wish I listened to my friends, and had more than a grape. I said under my breath so Mr. Binns couldn't hear, "You guys were right, I probably should have had a better breakfast."
Sirius grinned and looked at the others, then took some toast, and fruit out. "I know you were going to regret not eating a good breakfast so I came prepared!"
I smiled, and ate it quietly, and gratefully.
After History of Magic was Transfiguration, and Potions. I told my friends to go to lunch, and I would catch up to them. I just saw Lily finish talking to Slughorn, and I quickly ran to her.
"Hey Lily." I said forcing a smile
"Hey Remus! You ok? You look like you didn't have any sleep last night."
"Yea, I'm fine don't worry, also um I know this is short notice but can I ask you a favor?"
"Of course, what do you need?"
"My moms fallen ill, so I need to go home for a few days. I'm leaving tonight."
"Oh, Remus that's awful!"
"Yea…I was wondering if you could right notes for me while I was gone. I know I could ask my friends but I don't want to trouble them too much, especially about notes."
Lily smiled, and said," Of course I'll right notes for you. I hope your mom feels better!"
"Yea, thanks" I said, feeling bad all over again for lying to Lily.
I went to the Great Hall, and found my friends. "Hey, I have good news for you guys. You don't have to take notes for me while I'm gone, I found someone else."
"Who's the lucky guy?" Peter asked
"Girl" I corrected
"Who?" James asked while stuffing a sandwich in his mouth
"Lily. The girl who left your compartment on the train."
"What!" said James now almost choking on his sandwich. "Why would you ask her? She's so snobby."
"She's not snobby she just doesn't like you."
"Hmph"
"Looks like someone's jealous" laughed Sirius. Then dodging from James, who was trying to tackle him.
After lunch we went to Charms, and Defense against the arts. Then we went back to the common room to finish up work. We were joking around so much while working that I almost forgot that I had to meet Madam Pomfrey in front of Dumbledore's office 10 minutes before the full moon came. I quickly finished my work, and said bye to my friends who all wished my mother would feel better.
I speed walked to Professor Dumbledore's office, and sure enough I saw Madam Pomfrey standing there waiting for me. When I reached her, she smiled and said, "Hello Remus dear, are you ready?" I laughed on the inside. Was I ready to painfully transform into a werewolf? No. But I nodded anyway.
Madam Pomfrey led me outside of the school, and to the Whomping willow. That tree was crazy. Its branches were moving around, whacking anyone who didn't know that there was a secret knot, and if you touched it the tree stopped moving. Madam Pomfrey led me inside, and into a room. The room was not one of those 5-star hotel rooms you saw. It was a wooden room that had furniture, or as I thought… soon to be ripped furniture.
I went inside, and Madam Pomfrey locked the door from the outside so I wouldn't be able to go out. I sat on the couch waiting for the full moon to rise, and it happened.
I stumbled from the couch, and fell on the floor pain going through every inch of my body. I could feel my bones bending from human to wolf, and my thoughts going away into the wolfs mind. I was rolling around the floor hoping the pain would go away even though I knew it wouldn't. I was panicking, and then the room went black.
I woke up feeling like a puked time 10. I saw that I was back to human form. I was bleeding in many places and my clothes were torn. I looked at the furniture, and painfully grinned. I was right the furniture was not new anymore, it was torn, and ripped. I heard Madam Pomfrey knock, and come in. I saw her cup her hands to her face, looking horrified at my scars. She quickly ran to me, and used her wands to heal me as much as she could. I don't know what happened after that because the room went black again.
The next time I woke up, I saw that I was in the hospital wing, and Madam Pomfrey was whisper yelling to someone with a long white beard. Professor Dumbledore. I heard the conversation go like…
"Albus, look at the poor boy! He has scars everywhere! I can't imagine going through this every month!"
"I know Poppy, the boy has suffered a great deal, but all we can do it make sure he gets enough help from us."
I made a gagging noise, and Professor Dumbledore, and Madam Pomfrey looked at me. "I shall leave him to you Poppy." Professor Dumbledore said, and he left.
"Here Remus," Madam Pomfrey said handing me a potion. "Drink this. It will make you feel better, and give you dreamless sleep."
I took it, and drained it in one gulp. I felt my body going off into a peaceful sleep.
