New Year's Eve

The cans of beer in her bag make it burdensome but she believes she can still drive. She walks towards the parking lot and scans around, trying to recall where she parked her Harley. Her phone rings as she gets a glimpse of her bike.

"Yes?" She answers the phone while mindlessly dusting off her bike's side mirror.

"Where are you?" Jill asks from the other line.

"Hey, Claire Bear!"

Claire slightly moves her ear away from her phone for a few seconds, waiting for Jill to tame Chris who is obviously halfway drunk. Otherwise he wouldn't be speaking that loud.

Jill twists her body towards him and gives him a look. He could only cover his mouth, surprised by how loud his voice was as he didn't plan it that way. His eyes widen for a second due to embarrassment he shrugs with a slight apologetic look on his face before wrapping his arms around Jill who is sitting in between his legs. Both of them settled on the floor next to the couch.

"As I was saying." Jill continues as she leans back on Chris's chest. "Where are you?"

"I'm own my way, I just bought some more beers for round two and three." Claire searches for her keys in her pockets.

"OK, be careful on your way. Your brother can't drive you here so don't get into any troubles." Jill jokes and they both giggle.

It's one of those nights where Chris is not their designated driver and they will just settle in the cheap hotel for a New Year celebration. There is no doubt that the first one who will be wasted tonight would be Chris.

"Why does everyone think I'll get in trouble?" Claire finally takes out the key from her back pocket. "You know what, don't answer that. I'll be there in 10."

Rebecca sits next to Jill, not caring if she trespassing in Chris and Jill's area. "Can't wait to see you again Claire. Hurry before your brother starts dry humping Jill!"

Claire gasps and burst out laughing but the call ended before she could even reply a witty remark. She keeps her phone away then the Ducati next to her bike catches her attention. The color and the design was definitely an eye candy for her. Anything red is pleasing to her eyes most of the times. She takes out her phone again and takes a quick snap, saving the picture in her gallery. Her fascination towards motorcycle can never really fade even as years go by, she takes another photo and smiles to herself.

"You like what you see?"

Claire keeps her phone away and looks at the person who caught her red handed. "I'm sorry, I-" She gapes at the person who called her out. "I just think it looks wonderful."

"She does, doesn't she?" The woman smiles and pats the seat on the motorcycle. "Yours?" She asks while pointing at the Harley Davidson.

"Yes." Claire replies shortly, not really sure how to interact when facing someone she never knew she will meet this up close and personal.

She nods while gazing at Claire's bike before looking at the owner. "She looks good too."

"You are Lady, the drummer from DMC" She has seen her a few times but not really this close. She has heard about her having heterochromia but seeing her pair of red and blueish green eyes is like gems under the night. It's like the contrast and difference in color make her eyes sparkle every time she would look at you.

"Oh, you know us? You know me?" Lady smiles in astonishment. Not only does Claire know she is the drummer of DMC but she knows her name as well.

"Yes, I've seen DMC live a few times." Claire nods. Finally recovering from being shell-shocked, which she has no idea she felt that way in the first place, she smiles back and extends her hand. "I'm Claire."

They shake hands for a moment and Lady still couldn't stop smiling. "Not a lot of fans, specifically girls, could recognize me. Me and Trish. They are usually just more familiar with the two brothers." Lady is used to the fact that not a lot of people may know her due to the fact that she is stuck at the background of the stage and can't move around like everyone else.

"Are you kidding? The drummer is like the guide of the entire band, you handle the beat and rhythm. You deserve more recognition and I personally enjoy most of the songs where you have a line." Claire honestly says and almost too honest that she internally got cautious if she is looking like a weird fangirl.

For Lady, she admires the fact that that's how she sees her. "Good to know there some people like you who thinks differently. Thank you."

Claire would want to have a longer chat but she remembers her family and friends waiting. "I better go. . . It's not that I don't want to talk more but I have somewhere to be."

"No, it's OK. I do understand. Go ahead. It's nice meeting you though." Lady takes a step back for Claire to have more space.

Claire smiles at her one more time while wearing her helmet then starts her motorcycle. "I'll try to come see DMC play again someday."

"I'm hoping you will soon. I would want to see you in the crowd again." She pats Claire's bag and squints her eyes. "Be careful, that looks heavy."

"I always am. Nice to meet you too. Bye" She shortly replies before driving away.

Lady follows her trails with her gaze and sighs. She begins to hop on her own motorcycle and starts the engine. The van can be heard making its way closer to her. Dante lowers down the window and whistles in tune.

"Did it work?" he asks from the van

"I don't know. I just slipped the VIP ticket with my number written on the back in her bag." She shrugs and looks at the direction where Claire drove off.

"You wouldn't stop talking about her since you saw her at that night we played at Raccoon City and you can't even give her the ticket? You had to do is discreetly?" Dante teases.

"Shut up." Lady rolls her eyes while wearing her helmet. It may not be the best first impression or conversation but at least she now knows they have something in common. "No regrets there."
