Title: Dial it to 11
Three men with the stereotypical criminal attire were speeding down the streets of Upstate New York, one of the me laughed. "Hell yeah! Now that was a score!"
"What about those alien freaks on the news?", another one with a Yankee's cap asked slightly concerned.
"Ah please, Aliens in New York? Please, ya gotta be kidding me.", the other one wearing a plain snapback said with a little snicker. That was until a black figure with jagged white eyes appeared, he looked similar to Symbiote Spiderman actually.
"Ta-Da! Say our name and we magically appear.", Parasyte said with a voice sounding similar to Alex but with a slightly deeper tone.
"Damn, it's one of those alien freaks!", Green cap said as the snapback guy gave his yankee friend money.
"One of the Aliens? Where?!", Parasyte mockingly looked around before looking back at them with a fake flustered expression via his eyes. "I'm sorry I just get so flustered around celebrities.", his mouth opened as he gained in size, he flipped up and lifted the car up with a grin. "See what we mean?!", Parasyte said in his distorted voice, the Omnitrix emblem on his chest again. "I'm a complete mess!"
He ripped right through the car and cackled, he went over and picked all three of the men up, leapt up and tied them to a light pole with his web like substance. "Now we know you could break out, but ya might not wanna get turn into road kill!", the Symbiote said as he leapt off, grew his wings and flew off.
"I can't believe what you did Alex.", Max said as they had picked up Alex last night, who had retold his little adventure. "I'm disappointed."
"What for? I did my job didn't I?", Alex said crossing his arms slightly annoyed. "Better than nothing!"
Max turned back to him as Alice was taking out her luggage. "I did what I had to do back in my old days, but the treatment for those common crooks was unnecessary.", he shot back as Alex scoffed.
"Whatever. Let's just get in there.", the thirteen year old said as he reached up and pulled out his luggage. Alice shook her head slightly annoyed. The three of them went into the Hotel.
As soon as they reached the check in desk, Alice picked up one of the fliers. "Oh hey, they have an indoor pool, full day spa." she giggled like a excited little girl.
"Don't get too excited Alice, we're only staying the night.", Max said as Alex was fiddling with the Omnitrix, he'd been doing this for a while to find new aliens to use... no luck yet though.
He let out a sigh as he noticed an area featuring a new Samurai Slasher video game. "Maybe they won't mind.", Alex thought to himself with a mischievous grin before shaking that thought off, too many variables. Such as the time limit of the Omnitrix and the fact it won't give him what he wanted all the time.
"I know what you're thinking, so no sneaking back in there.", Max said noticing his stare as he picked up their brief cases and luggage.
"Hey I'm not ten anymore," Alex said as he realized that would be something his child self would do. He just picked up his brief case and went off to the elevator with Max and Alice
The trio made it to the sixth floor where they were the first room to the right of the elevator. Alex looked slightly irritated. That was when he heard the voice again:
If you want it, go get it
Alex looked behind himself to see no one there. He sighed as he threw his stuff onto the couch he'll be sleeping on. "I'm going out," Alex said as he took off his jacket and tossed it on his luggage before leaving.
"Go with him Alice.", Max said as Alice cocked an eyebrow in confusion. "Just make sure he doesn't do something he'll regret okay?"
Alice nodded before running after her cousin.. well it looked more like a light jog. Alex looked at her and rolled his eyes. "Next summer, I'm going to sleep-away camp.", he said with an annoyed sigh as they took the elevator down.
Alex and Alice end up in an arcade. Alex tries out one of the games, themed after baseball, but the game over appears even before he started. "Game over? It just started." He said before looking over at the clerk. "This thing ate my tokens!"
"Read the sign, kid. It said '"play at your own risk".", the clerk who might've been in highschool or just very depressed said as he walked off.
"This place is a rip-off, you know that?", Alex barked out to the man in an angered tone.
"You're right. The games here stink.", a voice said behind him, Alex turned to see a tall and moderately built young man. His normal attire was a black shirt as opposed to a vest, would have blue jeans and boots. He has padlock hanging from his neck. His hair was long, but was styled into a choppy mullet.
"Not as bad as his dog breath. Jesus at least take a breath mint for once, even dumpsters smell nicer.", Alex said crossing his arms with a grins
The young man, who looked no older than him laughed. "You're funny. Here, you owe me one.", as a favor in return, he sends an energy surge with his hand into the machine he was leaning on, causing it to dispense all the tokens that were in it.
"Whoa. How'd you do that?", Alex said as he couldn't help but compare him to Power Grid... but he was just a human.
"I've got some skills.", the young black haired man said flexing his hand in a playful manner as Alex bent down to steal some.
Alice had found Alex by then and shook her head. "We can't take those. They're not ours."
"They are now," Alex smirked as he scooped up a handful with a little smile. "I'm Alex."
"Names' Derek. I'm guessing you two are tourist here huh?", Derek said with a smile as the two looked shocked. "Yeah, once you live in the Big Apple for a while you pick up some new tricks, mainly recognizing people."
"Cool.", Alex said as the two fist bumped. "Wanna play some air hockey?
Derek glances behind him to see gang members walking by before stopping. "Nah. Gotta bail.", he said before turning and walking off.
"He's total trouble.", Alice said shaking her head.
Alex looked amused and shrugged. "He seemed okay to me.", he said as two of those gang members bumped past them. "Hey watch it brickheads!"
A third teenager then blocked his exit. Kevin backs up and is grabbed by the others, and then a fourth teen joins the party "Long time, no see.", said the third gang member.
"Where ya going, freak? Home to recharge your batteries?" A fourth said with a little grin as Derek smirked.
"Need some help?", Alex said putting his hands in his pockets.
"He's gonna need a lot more than you. Now beat it.", the bald gang member said as Alex simply punched him straight in the gut, which caused the teen to tumble over and dry heave.
"If that's what you want then see you in a bit.", Alex said passing Alice as he activated the Omnitrix
Alice turned her head to Alex. "Don't!", she whispered to him as he just ignored it.
"How's the hangout? Still trashed like I left it for ya?", Derek said with a cocky grin, he could take them on if he wanted to... he just doesn't.
"Yeah, and you're gonna pay. You can't take us all alone, freak.", the bald one, who would be presumed to be the leader said as a green flash erupted.
"But I can.", they turned their heads to see Rush standing there with his visor down. "I wanted Parasyte for this but I can work with Rush."
The Mohawk member laughed at this. "Little early for halloween, dude, isn't it?", he said as Rush zipped over and started choking the bald one with his tail in an instant.
"Oh really?", Rush hissed as he threw the bald guy into a machine before zipping away. And proceeded to beat the remaining ones with little to no effort then left after his job was done.
"I can't believe you went alien.", Alice chided Alex, the two of them were outside by then and Alex didn't feel a tinge or guilt.
"He helped me, so I helped him. You wouldn't get it, and neither would Grandpa. That's the problem.", Alex said as he scratched his neck a little bit.
Derek found them by then and walked up to the two. "You see what that speed guy did to those losers?"
"Yeah. Dude's name is Rush. In fact, we're pretty tight.", Alex wasn't technically lying at that point... cuz Rush and him are so tight, they're practically the same- oh wait a minute.
"Cool. Want a tour of New York?", Derek asked with a friendly smile, so far he liked this tourist kid.
"You keep Grandpa waiting any longer, he's going to pop another gasket. We gotta go. Like now, Alex.", Alice nervously and impatiently chided as he simply shrugged.
"I'll be there soon enough, just don't wait up for dinner.", Alex said as he waved off her worries as she just walked
"Alright let's go.", Alex said as he walked off with Derek, the two seemed to get along pretty well despite some differences that should not be touch upon yet as they toured New York. "Sorry for asking, but how'd you get your power?"
Derek chuckled at it. "Don't worry man, I was born with it. I'm like an energy sponge. Motors, air conditioners, lights, batteries, whatever. Soak it up and dish it out when I have to... or want to.", he said before he smiled again. "Come on. I'll show you where I live.", he offered as his new buddy nodded as the two walked off somewhere else.
Meanwhile, Alice gets back to the hotel room, yet to only find Max angry "Where's Alex?", his dear niece in response was reluctant to answer his question.
Devin leads Alex to his home, which is an abandoned subway station. Televisions are scattered about, along with a vending machine and an arcade machine. "Sweet place," Alex said in slight admiration.
"Thanks, live here by myself.", Derek said confidently but it seemed to waver quickly. "My parents weren't exactly too thrilled to have a freak for a son... but hey, gives me more freedom."
"Sounds good to me. So why was that gang after you?", Alex asked cocking an eyebrow.
"I kinda trashed their hangout under the 39th Street bridge. What about you? Sounds like your grandpa's pretty steamed at you.", Derek asked him rather curiously, the younger boy seemed to roll his eyes.
"Like that's been any different.", Alex said popping his neck before sighing. "Kinda wished I snuck into that Samurai Slasher testing while I could."
" The one that won't be out until Christmas?", Derek asked as Alex nodded, which sparked an idea in the black haired teens head.
About an hour later, the two had made it to a storage warehouse near the docks. "Igot a tip a new shipment just came in.", he said with a smirk as he used his ability to break the door's lock. "Help me kick in the door.", Derek asked his new friend.
The two of them break down the door, upon their entry, Alex notices crates full of copies of the new game, yet kicking the door let the silent alarm go off. "Nice," Alex said with a smirk.
Derek went over to one of the created, opened it up and laughed. "Check it out. Wait's over, dude." He said as he tossed the game to his new friend.
"Hell yeah," then suddenly, gas cans have been thrown through the windows. The police have arrived, and security has surrounded the building. The SWAT team and the helicopters were there also "What do we do?"
"Get the hell out of here!", Derek said as the two threw away the games and ran over to the exit. However the SWAT team had stopped them and pointed a rifle.
"Freeze, punks!", one of the SWAT members said as Derek merely smirked.
Derek then absorbs a nearby electric socket and uses it to power a forklift. "Time to rev things up.", He crashes the forklift into one of the SWAT members. "Let's move it!", Alex and Derek then head for the exit, to be discovered by the police. They run back in as the police exit their cars.
The two hide behind one of the crates and panted. "Great. No way out." Alex groaned out slightly annoyed.
"Any ideas?", Derek cocked an eyebrow at his friend, his eyes had a slight black ring around them now for some reason.
Alex scratched his chin before thinking of that solution. ""Only one, but can you keep a secret?"
"Sure.", Derek shrugs as Alex smirked, he activated the Omnitrix and scrolled through his arsenal. "What are you doing with your watch?"
"Just a little magic.", Alec said as he found his best boy and slammed down on it. Kevin covered his eyes as there was now Mach Manta replacing Alec, he looked on in awe. "You scared of heights?"
A red blur sped by the cops as they tried shooting at the large amphibian humanoid. "Oh, yeah! And people call me a freak. How'd you do that?", Derek was absolutely amazed and completely enjoyed that he found someone like him, he found a freak!
"Talk later," Mach Manta said as he looked behind them and blasted a Neuroblast at one of their guns and sped off with one more blast from his tail, all people could see was a light red blur speeding by. Who else saw this... was Alice and Max... yeah.
A good fifteen minutes later, the two had been hiding in an alleyway. "So that watch lets you do that manta ray thing whenever you want?", Derek asked, now wishing he met this kid earlier.
" And not just that one. It sends out this special energy so I can turn into ten different aliens. Well now eleven.", Alex bragged modestly, or as modest as he could.
"Eleven? So the speed guy at the arcade was you.", Derek's eyes widened as Alex nodded at him. "You're the man! Show me what other aliens you can morph into."
"It's not that simple.", Alex said pointing at the Omnitrix, which was still red. "I have fifteen minutes of transformation time, and even less if I switch between them."
"Give me it. Maybe I can make it work.", Derek smirked, wanting to try it out for himself.
"I can't. It's stuck on my wrist.", Alex said pointing at the Omnitrix, which had just turned green thankfully.
Derek scratched his chin before smiling. "We should be partners. Between the two of us, with our powers, we could do whatever we want whenever we want. We'd totally cash in. Whadda ya say? Friends?", he asked holding his hand out, Alex nodded and shook hands.
Inside the subway system, Derek had Alex to boost him up to a lamp, so he can absorb some of the energy from it. He then walks over to the train track switcher, and uses the energy to activate it. The track switches. "A money train loaded with cash comes down this track, so when it crashes into the oncoming passenger train, boom! Instant jackpot. You turn into that Rush guy and we're out of here!", the black rings around his eyes had grown more prominent.
"But hundreds of innocent people will be killed.", Alex said with a furrowed brow.
"Hey, no pain, no gain.", Derek said without a care in a world.
Alex looked genuinely annoyed at this. "You can't do this.", he said as Devin laughed.
"Sure we can. I just switched the tracks.", Derek said with a little grin. "We shook. We're partners dude," he said as Alex cocked an eyebrow."
"No. This is going way too far.", Alex said crossing his arms as Derek grew infuriated.
"Then try and stop me, watch boy.", Devin growled as Alex smirked
"You don't care about anyone else but yourself.", he said as he leapt out of the way of Derek grabbing him. "And I'm talking to you"
Derek grinned as electricity surged around his hands. "Oh, you do not want to make me mad."
"Me neither," Alex said with a shrug as he activated the Omnitrix and slammed down on the core. His main objective was turning into Parasyte to end it already, buuut he got Hotshot instead. "This works," the Pyronite said as Derek started approaching him, Hotshot pointed a palm at him which was enveloped in violent flames. "Move back."
"Or what? You're going to burn my dinner?", Derek asked with a little smirk.
"Fight me, you're the one who's gonna be burned.", Hotshot said as Derek looked mighty cocky as he ran over and absorbs the energy from the switcher to turn off all the lights, and darkened the entire section of the subway station, except for the area Hotshot illuminates.
Hotshot is surrounded in darkness and looks around for any suspicions. Derek then appears and hops on his back, absorbing Hotshot's energy. It gave Derek quite a bit of pain, and the force tosses him off of the Pyronite. When Hotshot goes to check on him, he gets attacked by a fireball.
Derek walked out of the darkness, part of his body remained the same, however the Pyronite DNA took effect on him quickly. His upper right chest, head, right arm and shoulder were now that of a Pyronite, his clothing looking singed. "Psyche. I absorb energy, remember?", he said with a cocky grin.
"You don't have to do this.", Hotshot got up and tried to force Derek down, but he side stepped and blasted him in the back.
"It's time I got what's coming to me. Nobody's calling me freak anymore.", the two looked over to see the trains coming. "Payday!"
This forced Hotshot to change his priorities. He melts the switcher, switching the tracks back, and saves the trains from collision. He was nearly hit by one of them, but he managed to lift himself onto the roof before he was run over. The train takes Hotshot away. "Fuck the money, I think priceless revenge is a much better score!" He said as he ran off
Hotshot was busy tumbling on the train roof before slamming on the Omnitrix and turning into Parasyte. "This works!" He muttered as he stuck onto the roof like gorilla glue.
Max was currently driving around New York in search Alex. "Of all the stunts Alex pulled, this is the worst. When I find him..." he seethed were Alice looked genuinely concerned
{[And expect delays on the uptown subway line near 51st Street. There have been reports of fires breaking out all over the tunnels.]}
Alice turned to her Grandfather who nodded. "I know," Max said as he did a U-turn.
Parasyte looked at his chest and groaned, the Omnitrix was beeping and flashing red. "You have got to be kidding us!", he said as the Omnitrix timed out.
"Come on. Hold on." Alex said as he looked over to the side to see Max driving up beside the train, honking and opening the awning on the RV, seeing a rapidly approaching gate on the train. "Oh, that's gonna hurt.", Alex said as he leapt up and landed on the awning safely.
"Nice catch, Grandpa.", Alice looked over at her grandpa, who smiled and nodded.
Inside the RV, Alex is as getting an earful of Max, which is pretty deserved at this point. "Are you ever planning on listening to me? None of this would have happened if you'd just obeyed me from the beginning. It's all about trust.", he sternly said as Alex looked up.
"Then trust me that Devin's probably misusing Hotshot's power right now.", Alex said as he had told them about Devin's ability to absorb energy.
"Grandpa, Alex's right. There's no telling what he could do now." Alice said placing her hand on Alex's head.
Max relented, he thought the name 'Derek' sounded familiar, so he decided to listen. "Okay, so where is he?"
"I think I know.", Alex said crossing his arms with a smile.
One of the bullies attempted to push off the large pipe holding him and his buddies down as Devin laid waste to the hide out. "Uhh, Derek. We can work this out."
Derek grinned as he approached them, violent flames filled with his pent up rage burned the area. "I don't think so."
Max was honking the horn to the RV repeatedly as he was stuck in the worse thing ever, New York traffic. "Move it already!", he yelled out impatiently.
"I don't have time for this.", Alex got up, activated the Omnitrix and slammed down once he saw Cold Soar, but got the next best thing, Rush. "See you at the 39th Street bridge.", the Kineceleran said as his visor dropped down and he sped off.
Derek laughed at the current misfortune of his new victims, the gang that bullied him. ""Ha! So much for your gang!", he looked at his hand as he felt something leave him. His large Pyronite hand started to calm down, and turn grey, along with his arm and face, it all cracked off into a blue mist, leaving him confused. "Uh, what's going on?"
He heard a thud from behind to see Alex, who had arrived finally and was transformed into Strongarm. "You're power's gone."
"Looks like you're about to give me some more, Alex.", Derek said gesturing for him to give him energy.
Strongarm cockily crossed his arms. "I don't think so.", he said as Derek smirked.
"You don't have a choice.", Devin turned to them with large balls of electricity in his hands. "I've still got enough juice to fry these guys.", the mutant human said as he was about to shoot them, before Strongarm came in and force him to blast up through the bridge, which was what Derek wanted.
He slammed his hands onto Strongarm and absorbed his DNA again like he did with Hotshot, as soon as he got enough, his left arm turned larger and to Strongarm's size and clocked him in the face. Derek grinned as he started resembling more of a Tetramand. He ran at him as he grew another bulky arm and clocked him again, sending him flying back.
While his hair and lower body's clothing remain unaltered, his skin turns red and his upper set of arms enlarge, with four black-nailed fingers on each hand. 4 holes are on the side of his shirt to allow for thinner human-proportioned arms to extend through, 4 fingers on each hand, but with matching nails. He also gains eyes like a Tetramand, 2 rows on top of each other, and crooked teeth. "Oho! This is gonna be real fun!"
Strongarm got back up and got into a boxing stance. "Tell me about it.", the Tetramand said as the two charged at each other. Strongarm easily caught Derek's bigger arms and his other pair of arms.
"I'm takin all of your alien powers.", Derek said before Strongarm jumped up and kneed him in the face, before throwing a haymaker at him. Tetramand Derek dodged and uppercutted him back, he ran up, grabbed his head and head butted him with a lot more force than necessary. Strongarm scowled as he was thrown back, but regained footing and threw a double left handed jab at Derek, then punched him right in the nose... or where it should be.
During all this, the Rust Bucket had finally arrived with the two Max and Alice sliding down. The two ran over to the trapped gang members, what happened next was... well not surprising, his mechanical arm transformed into a large claw, and picked it up effortlessly. "Moving day. Get out.", he sternly said.
Without any more convincing, the gang members immediately got up and ran away, looking for either a new hide out or just to see their families again.
Devin tackles Strongarm to the ground and started punching him repeatedly, before getting kicked off by him. However as soon as Derek was up, he grabbed his ankle and threw him into a wall and jumped back on him again. Alex heard a familiar beeping and scowled. "It ain't over until I say so!", he said as he head butted Derek off him, then punched him back.
Before the weird hybrid could catch his breath Strongarm repeatedly attacked him without any way for him to counterattack, and with one last punch to the gut, he sent Tetramand Derek flying back into a pillar.
"Come on, I give, I give! I'm sorry! Please, just lighten up.", Derek said in a deep voice, slightly trembling as a red flashed covered Four Fists.
Alex walked up to him, the Omnitrix now recharging. "I just did... by a couple thousand pounds."
"Guess I went too wild with power. I don't have anyone else like you to help me.", Derek wasn't lying at that point, he's been on the streets since he was at least eleven years old... so who could blame him?
"We can still be partners. We'd just be kicking butts for good, instead of for ourselves. You could hang with us.", Alex said as he walked over to him, putting on his glasses.
"What's in it for me?, Tetramand Derek asked him cocking a brow.
"For starters, people will like you.", Alex said as he held a hand out. Derek... he actually considered this but, due to the fact he get so betrayed by this new 'friend', he didn't buy that for a second. He grinned as he got up and lifted Alex by his left arm.
"Alex!", Max transformed his mechanical arm into a large blaster and ran over to him.
"Oh, man. You are so dim.", Tetramand Derek said grinning wildly as he just took the blasts to the back by Max then back handed him away. "Your mommy drop you on your head when you were a little baby? Now give me that watch!", he said as he tried to pull it off.
"You're the one who's dim. I told you I can't.", Alex said as the two were shocked to see the Omnitrix recharge as soon as Derek tried taking it off.
[Self Defense Protocol 1 has been activated, suddenly, an energy wave pulse exploded from the Omnitrix, sending both Alex and Devin back... well Devin had been sent into several more pillars and on the other side of the bridge.
Derek didn't notice it when it happen, but as soon as he was encased in rubble, the Tetramand body had crumbled off into a blue mist. He looked at his hands as soon as he got up. "NOOOOO!!!", he scowled and ran off someplace else.
The morning had finally arrived, and Alex had his jacket covering him. "I'm sorry, Grandpa. For everything.", he said as he realized his mistakes.
"I know you are. You're my grandson and nothing will ever change that, but my trust is something you'll have to earn back." Max said, accepting his apology but keeping a strait face, Alex just puts his head down.
Meanwhile in some random subway, it looked relatively abandoned, as if people just stopped using it. "Oh, if they thought I was a freak before, just wait.", Derek said with a bloodthirsty grin on his face, his black eye rings being more noticeable finally. His hands ignited with the flames of a Pyronite. Knowing his new abilities and what he can do, he started cackling like an deranged maniac.
/End/
