She hugs her husband a little tighter, and leans into him a little more as her mind settles on the idea of adding to their family. He looks down at her and sees her eyes twinkle. He makes a note to inquire later about her expression shift, as Anna with air quotes says, "Well love birds; we just wanted to touch base with you about the family gathering. We will let you get back to working out." They all laugh as Tony says, "I need you two to let that go." Tess chuckles as she replies, "Why? It's funny to make you blush dad."

Kerry watches his dad voice relent as he says, "You two are too spoiled." To which Anna shrugs her shoulders as she responds, "Gee, I wonder who did that." Kerry chuckles as she replies, "She's got you there babe." He agreeably nods as he says, "Okay. Okay. But I had lots of help. Your Pop Pop isn't defenseless in this either, along with your mom and your aunts and uncles."

Tess smiles as she says, "We agree. You had some help. But, between you and Pop Pop, that's one reason we love you both so much." He teases, "I bet you do love us, little crumb snatchers." They all laugh at his pet name for them when they were kids.

As their laughter settles, Tess continues as she says, "Seriously dad. With this happening with Pop Pop; I realize we don't thank you enough for all you've done and continue to do for us. Just know we appreciate you both for being who you are." Sweetly, Anna adds, "She's right dad. We couldn't ask for a better father or grandfather. You're both the two greatest men we know."

Their words touch his heart; and Kerry feels it too, as he replies, "Thanks girls. I appreciate your kindness. You both are great young women. And I am proud of who you are right now, as well as who you're becoming."

Surveying the mood in the room, Kerry responds, "Oh my goodness. You're all going to make me cry." They all smile, with love in their eyes. Tony brings her closer to him as he hugs her, saying, "It's okay babe." The girls both chime in as they reply "Don't cry Kerry. We'll all start crying." With her face in his chest she murmurs, "Too late." Everyone else grins, and fights back the tears of joy and appreciation, but each adores the kindness spoken and takes in the moment for what it is.

The brief pause allows her to regroup a bit, and after a few seconds she's no longer tucked into his chest. She looks up at her husband, and he pecks her lips sweetly, as the girls both say, "We love both of you very much."

They break their post kiss gaze as they say, "Thanks. We love you both very much too." With them all smiles; Anna replies, "Well, now that we know all is well with two. And, you're coming to the event. We won't hold you." Tess replies, "Yeah, we are starting our Christmas shopping."

Kerry smiles as she exclaims, "Woe! I'm impressed. You're both usually last minute shoppers." Tess nods as she responds, "Yeah. But it works out to do it now. Because we can shop while Pop Pop is resting. And then go hang out with him when he's up." Tony adds, "That's sweet girls, but you know you don't have to stay with him every day. He has nurses to help him."

Kerry adds, "He's right girls. You both have lives you have to maintain too. He'd want you two to be productive. You know that."

Tess nods as she responds, "Yes. We know. Him and mom have told us that in so many words. But, it makes sense for us to spend more time with him right now, with our summers being our busiest times. Remember Supergirl is on break, so I don't have to report to set. I can do script drafts from my laptop." Anna nods as she adds, "Yeah, and we're on holiday break with school. So we're not missing anything important. We are here by choice, not obligation."

Tony is satisfied with their response; but his curiosity is peaked at the reference to their mother's alleged inquiry into how they're spending their free time. That's confirmation she must have spoken to them recently. Which is why she has an interest in seeing his father. She likely wants to check out the set up.

Nonetheless, he's never been one to pump them for information about her; he prides himself on not putting them in the middle of anything going on between them. And he's not going to change that up now, despite wanting to know more about how that conversation went.

Fighting back the temptation to break his own rule, he says, "Okay. Well as long as you two are keeping your lives balanced; that's all that matters." Kerry nods in agreement as she sweetly says, 'Yes. And I'm sure Sam isn't any worse for the wear. Sounds like he's loving having you around." Anna replies, "Agreed, he's really been enjoying our visits. It's been fun." Tess agrees too as she responds, "I think the nurses like us being there too; because he's more apt to cooperate with their requests for him. So he can get to chill with us during his wake times."

Tony smiles as he says, "I didn't think about that part. That's a good call out Tess." She smiles as she replies, "Thanks dad. Just stating what I've seen. It's worth it to share time with him. I was telling mom that this morning when we spoke."

Kerry feels his grip on her waist tighten after hearing her remark. And Tony's curiosity gets the best of him as he responds, "Really? What exactly did she have to say about it." Anna replies, "She says she doesn't have an issue with us being here. But, she's curious about how it's working out and how he's doing. I would have facetimed her with him, but he was sleeping when we were talking. I told her she should come visit when she returns from London."

Kerry asks, "Did she say when she was returning?" She responds, "No. She didn't. But I think she should be back by Thanksgiving. Because Aunt Margaret and some of the other family are already at her house waiting for her to come back. So I doubt she'd leave them there alone on the holiday."

Kerry and Tony look at each other, and decide to let them go, so they can discuss what they've learned.

Tony keeps his cool as he says, "I'm sure you're right. You know your mother loves the holidays. So she'll likely be back sooner than later. We will let you girls go for real this time. But don't shop too hard." Anna grins as she replies, "We can't make any promises." He grins too as he responds, "Given that last credit card statement I received; I know you mean that with all your heart." To which they both hurriedly want to end the call before he adds any restrictions to their shopping budget, as they say, "Okay. Bye! Love you both." Kerry and Tony both laugh, knowing their motivation for hanging up so quickly. And they in turn reply, "goodbye. Love you too."
