Day 9 - Kiss Your Best Friend Challenge

Prompt from FanFiction User horsegurl03: Person A gets dared by Person B to do the Tik Tok "kiss your best friend" challenge at the Bellas Annual Christmas Party.

The Bellas were having their Annual Bellas Christmas Party and the drinks were flowing. As usual, Beca was sitting in a corner away from everyone.

"Whatcha doin' sitting all by yourself, Becs?" Chloe asked as she plopped down next to her.

"Just trying to avoid a certain Treble," Beca said.

"Is it Jesse?" Chloe asked, her drunken voice loud. "Are you talking about Jesse?"

"Keep it down will you?" Beca said. "Don't draw attention over here. I've managed to avoid him until-. Oh, hey, Jesse."

Beca glared at Chloe

"Oopsie," Chloe said and giggled. She stood and pushed past Jesse. "Excuse me. I have to go, um, talk to, um, someone that's not you."

"Hey, Beca," Jesse said. Taking Chloe's seat next to Beca. "Why are you hiding in the corner? Are you trying to avoid someone?"

"As a matter of fact," Beca said. "I am."

"Oh, really," Jesse said, nudging Beca's shoulder. "Who is it? You can tell me. I won't tell them, I promise."

"I need another drink," Beca said, jumping up and hurrying toward the kitchen.

"Come on, Beca," Jesse said, following her. "I'm your best friend, you can tell me. I can keep a secret."

"First, you're not my best friend," Beca said. "And, second, you're horrible at keeping secrets."

"Okay, first, that hurts me to the core, Beca," Jesse said, his hand over his heart. "And, second, I never told Chloe that you liked someone."

"Ooooh, who does Beca like?" Chloe asked, coming up behind Jesse, startling him and Beca.

"Nobody," Beca said. "Beca likes nobody."

"Tell meeeee!" Chloe whined, grabbing Beca's arm. "Why does Jesse get to know who you like and I don't? I thought I was your best friend, Becs."

"You're not," Jesse said. "I am! I'm Beca's best friend."

Chloe snorted. "Really? If you're her best friend, why was she hiding in the corner to avoid you?"

"That's not true," Jesse said, shaking his head. He looked at Beca. "That's not true, is it, Beca?"

Beca glared at both of them. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, trying to calm herself.

"You know what?" Beca said. "You're both drunk and I'm not doing this with you. I'm done."

Beca turned on her heel and started walking away. "And, don't either of you follow me," she said over her shoulder.

"Look what you did," Chloe yelled at Jesse. "You made her mad. Way to go, Swanson!"

"I didn't do anything," Jesse yelled back. "This is all your fault, Beale."

Beca could still hear Jesse and Chloe arguing as she reached the drinks.

"What's going on there?" Stacie asked, gesturing toward Jesse and Chloe.

"They're arguing over which of them is my 'best' friend," Beca said, grabbing a beer.

"Why don't you just tell them who your best friend is?" Stacie asked. "It would stop them from arguing."

"It's, uh, complicated," Beca said.

Later, Beca was talking with Fat Amy and Stacie when Chloe walked up to them.

"Beca," Chloe said, causing her to look at Chloe. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. It's just. . .Jesse was getting on my nerves with the whole best friend thing."

"I get it," Beca said. "He gets on my nerves, too. But, you two have to stop arguing about which of you is my best friend. You're both my friend, but I don't put any one friend over another as a best friend. I just don't do best friends."

Chloe frowned and turned to walk away.

"Hey," Beca said, grabbing Chloe's arm to stop her. "If I did choose a best friend, it would definitely be you."

"Thanks, Beca," Chloe said, pulling her into a hug. "You're my best friend, too."

"I know, I know," Beca said, patting Chloe on the back.

"I need a drink," Chloe said, and walked away.

"I thought you said," Stacie said. "Telling Chloe or Jesse who your best friend was, was complicated?"

"It is," Beca said. "But, Chloe's drunk and she won't remember anything tomorrow."

"I think it's time to play some drinking games," Fat Amy shouted, causing several people to cheer.

Beca groaned and looked at Stacie who laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

"Don't make that face, Beca," Fat Amy said. "I have a new game we can play. A new challenge game."

"Is it that Tik Tok kiss your best friend challenge?" Stacie asked.

"That's the one," Fat Amy said. She put her arms up and started pushing people into a circle. She reached down and grabbed Beca's arm. "Come on, you're playing, too."

"I don't want to," Beca whined.

"Just do it, Beca," Stacie said. "Look, Jesse and Chloe are playing."

"All the more reason for me not to play," Beca said.

Fat Amy pulled Beca's arm causing her to stumble forward and into Jesse's back.

"Beca!" Jesse said, smiling at her. "Here sit next to me."

"I'm not-" Beca said.

"Beca!" Chloe squealed, pulling Beca into a side hug. "I can't believe they got you to play."

"I'm not." Beca sighed as Chloe pulled her down to sit next to her. "I guess I am."

"Settle down," Fat Amy said, getting everyone's attention. "Does everyone know how to do the best friend kiss challenge?"

"I don't," Beca said, raising her hand.

"It's simple Beca," Fat Amy said. "Whoever's turn it is is going to dare someone to kiss their best friend."

"What if they don't want to kiss them?" Beca asked.

"Then you have to take a shot," Fat Amy said. "I'll start us off. Bumper, I dare you to kiss your best friend."

Bumper looked over at Donald, and Donald looked back at him. Bumper made a face and grabbed a shot, knocking it back and slamming his shot glass on the floor.

"My turn," Bumper said. "Fat Amy?"

"Yes, sir," Fat Amy said.

"I dare you to kiss your best friend," Bumper said.

"On it," Fat Amy said and made her way to Beca.

"Amy, what are you doing?"

"You're my best friend," Fat Amy said before giving Beca a quick kiss on the lips.

The group cheered and laughed at the face Beca made. Fat Amy stood and pumped her arms in the air.

"It's your turn, Amy," Stacie said.

"Okay," Fat Amy said and the game continued.

Different people were dared to kiss their best friend; several kisses were exchanged and shots were downed. Then, it was Stacie's turn.

"Beca," Stacie said, looking at the smaller brunette.

"Oh, Hell no," Beca said and started to get up. Fat Amy ran over to her and pushed her back down. "Amy, stop! Let me go. I don't want to play. It's a stupid game."

"Come on, Becs," Chloe said. "It's just for fun."

"Yeah, Beca," Jesse said from her other side. "Do it. Then everyone will know who your real best friend is."

The groups started chanting. "Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!" A cheer went up when Beca made a move and leaned over and gave Jesse a quick kiss on the lips.

Jesse grinned from ear to ear. Chloe scoffed and jumped up, rushing out of the room when Jesse grabbed Beca behind the head and leaned in for another kiss.

"What the Hell?" Beca yelled, pushing Jesse away.

"No, dude," Beca said, jumping to her feet. "It's not like that."

"But you kissed me," Jesse said.

"As a friend and nothing more," Beca said. She looked over to Stacie. "Where'd Chloe go?"

"Upstairs," Stacie said. "To her room, I think."

"Thanks," Beca said.

"You can't leave," Fat Amy said. "It's your turn to challenge someone."

"Stacie, kiss somebody," Beca said as she ran out and up the stairs. She got to Chloe's room and stood there for a moment.

Beca heard a loud cheer from downstairs. She took a deep breath and let it out before softly knocking on Chloe's door.

Beca slowly opened the door after hearing a soft "come in" from Chloe.

"Hey," Beca said.

"Hey," Chloe said. She looked at Beca with tears in her eyes. "So, I guess Jesse was right. He really is your best friend."

"Chlo," Beca said as she made her way to Chloe's bed and sat on the edge. She took Chloe's hands in hers and said, "Look at me, please."

Chloe lifted her eyes to Beca. "What?"

"I did choose Jesse as my best friend for the stupid challenge," Beca said.

"Why him?" Chloe asked as she pulled her hands away from Beca's. "Why not me?"

"Because I want you to be so much more than a friend," Beca blurted out. "I like you, Chloe. As more than a friend."

"You do?" Chloe asked softly.

"I do," Beca said, smiling at Chloe. "Do you want to be something more than friends with me?"

Chloe smiled and captured Beca's lips in a tender kiss.

"Yes, I do," Chloe whispered against Beca's lips. "I really like you, Beca."

"Merry Christmas to me," Beca said, leaning in for another kiss.

Chloe's bedroom door flew open with Stacie and Fat Amy standing on the other side. Beca and Chloe turned to look at them.

"I told you they'd be kissing," Stacie said smugly.

"Bhloe is real," Fat Amy yelled. She turned and ran down the stairs, yelling "This is not a drill. Bhloe is real!"

Beca, Chloe, and Stacie laughed. Stacie said, "I'll leave you two get back to what you were doing," as she closed the door.

"You heard the lady," Chloe said, leaning in for another kiss. "Let's get back to it."

"With pleasure," Beca whispered just as Chloe's lips captured hers.
