"All of that time Naraku held my life in his hands, all of the incarnations, all of the pain and suffering he inflicted," Kagura breathed incredulously, "Started because of unrequited love."
"That's my understanding," Byakuya of the Dreams sighed dismissively, "He allowed demons to consume his soul so he could get to that Kikyo woman. That's why he took his heart out as well. The priestess was his weak point."
"You can't be serious," Kagura scoffed as she glanced around the underworld, "Then the point of all of this..."
"Was to collect her or win her heart by force if necessary," Byakuya replied as he examined his fingernails, "Pathetic really."
"That makes no sense. I don't believe you," Kagura snapped angrily as a small white child suddenly appeared and walked soundlessly up to the wind sorceress.
"Why would I lie? We're dead. What would be the point?" Byakuya asked in a mildly amused fashion, "I'm sure Kanna knows as well."
Per the norm the pale girl didn't respond, shockingly though, she did reach up to hold the wind sorceress' hand. Kagura furrowed her brow even as she took hold of the tiny hand and squeezed. Kanna had been rather clingy and dare she say affectionate in death. When asked no explanation was given by the supposedly emotionless girl. Not that Kagura expected to hear one but...
"I'm sure he's somewhere around here," Byakuya sighed as he turned to leave, "Go ask him yourself."
"I have no interest in seeing him. Even for this," Kagura scoffed in disgust before glancing down at the small girl staring blankly ahead - hand still in her big sister's grasp.
"Come on Kanna," Kagura ordered gently as she turned to walk in the opposite direction, "Let's find that dead woman and see if she knows something."
"Yes Kagura."
