The dinner turned out not to be just dinner but a full blown engagement party that only Catherine could pull on such a short notice. It was a lot of people, some from the hospital, some from the foundation and some that Maggie didnt even know and somehow Lisa was also there. Everything was going great from the food, the music and everyone was having a wonderful time. Maggie was so happy as she couldn't stop smiling with everyone congratulating her and Jackson. Jackson let go off her for a moment as he started charting with some members of the foundation. She stepped away from everyone to call her dad, she just needed a dose of reality because everything was just overwhelming. She knew getting together with Jackson came together with stepping into this whole medical royalty and she wasnt sure if she could handle it. She wanted to just get some air and someone to tap her inner goofy being. Eveything was happening at a fast pace and it was way more than she had imagined. Richard and Catherine`s house was so massive that if you didn't know your way around you would get lost. She opened one of the doors to give herself privacy, she dialed the number but then heard Meredith and Catherine having what seemed like an intense conversation in the next room. She dropped the phone and moved closer to listen watching them. They kept going back and forth not realizing Maggie was watching them, she stood there dumbfounded until her phone rang and the two ladies turned to look at her. She answered her phone and said "dad, I will have to call you back"

"Maggie" Meredith said in a quivering voice looking at her sister who didn't say anything

"Hey Maggie" Catherine said with one of those untrustworthy smiles "I don`t know what you heard…..

"I heard everything" she said cutting her off

"Good" her face changed from warmth to something very unpleasant "so you are going to keep your mouth shut because if you dare tell Jackson.."

"Catherine, how am I suppose to look at Jackson and act as if everything is fine, he is so happy for crying out loud"

"And I want it to stay that way" she turned and looked at Meredith "Grey that applies to you too and this better be the last time you bother me about this matter" she then walked out leaving the sisters speechless

"How long have you known?"

"Since that LA trip, my VIP consult remember"

"Wow and Richard does not even know?"

"Nope, he doesn't"

Maggie was bothered by all this and unlike Meredith, she wasn`t made to keep secrets. She hated it and it was one of the things she had fought with Jackson about. This time everything was on her, they were just so happy and she just wished that she hadnt heard all of that. She had heard about what Catherine was capable of and she had never at one moment wished to be on her wrong side. Catherine was one woman who loved her son to death. Jackson was always annoyed by her need to always interfere in his life and the way she got overprotective of him . Understandably she had to put on both the mum and dad suit when it came to raising Jackson and she had done a wonderful job. To some she came as overbearing and controlling but she didnt care as all her intentions were what was best for her son. Maggie stood there for a while until Meredith said "come on lets go, its your party, so you better put your game face on and continue smiling"

Jackson had booked for him and Maggie for a weekend at a hotel so they could just spend sometime together. Unfortunately they couldn't as Mathew had called asking if they could have Harriet because of some emergency he had to atted to seeing April was out of town for work. Maggie was so relieved when he heard that, there was no way she was going to keep this to herself, Harriet on the other hand was going to keep her mind off everything that was going on. They continued with the party until Mathew dropped off Harriet. They then had to say their thank yous and goodbyes to everyone. The drive home was just odd as Maggie was trying her best to make small talk. Jackson knew his woman very well and he could tell that something was off with her. They arived home and managed to put Harriet to sleep even though it was a bit late for her normal routine.

"I am so tired, your mum sure knows how to throw a party" Maggie said climbing on the bed.

"Thats who she is, you should have seen her throwing me parties when I was growing up, just like you saw her taking that dance floor. Sometimes I used to think she threw those parties just for herself but that`s her"

"And here I thought it was just going to be the four of us"

"I know she can be go overboard at times but she means well okay, its just her way of showing love"

"Oh I know" her phone then started ringing "oh shit, its my dad" she said answering it getting off the bed and walking out of the room. She went on and on with her dad, a while later she walked back only to find Jackson sound asleep, she crawled in not wanting to disturb him. She tried to sleep but kept tossing and turning until the wee hours of the morning which was when she managed to fall asleep.

It was back to work after a weekend, Jackson was suppose to go in early. He was getting ready when Maggie turned to face him fixing his shirt infront of the mirror. She slowly got out of bed and moved towards him while turning pulling her in his arms. She gave him a small kiss and said

"Hmm, wrong shirt" she pulled away from him walking to their closet "this will do" she said handing him a deep sky blue shirt "it makes your eyes pop"

"Okay mam" he said removing the one he was wearing as Maggie started running her hands over his torso.

"Babe, as much as I want this, you know I got a meeting today so I don`t want to be late"

"I know" she said moving her right hand down to unzip his dress pants while the other hand slowly moved up his neck holding the back of his head with her brown eyes drawing him in

"You are so bad do you know that" he said giving in to her desire taking the shirt he was putting on off and going in for her lips. He wasted no time carrying her to the bed and climbing on top of her

"I thought you said you were late" Maggie said with a smirk

"I missed you, this whole weekend you have been kind of distant and I didn't want to ask because I was afraid you will tell me you changed your mind about marrying me" he said showering her with kisses all over her neck. Maggie stopped him and pushed him away a little

"And why would you think that?"

"I mean I don`t know, you have been a little distant since we came from the party and the whole weekend you kept yourself busy baking with Harriet which don`t get me wrong, I loved it but I feel like there is something going on with you that you are not telling me"

"You are just seeing things and there is nothing going on okay" she said pulling him back in but he didnt move.

"Am I" he said looking her straight into her eyes. Maggie said nothing as her eyes dropped avoiding eye contact, she could feel him shake his head "so I was right all along, what is going on Maggie?"

"It`s the whole Avery-Fox thing, I mean I knew getting with you came with some kind of pressure and that party kind of freaked me out that`s all"

"Oh come on babe, it was just a party and no one is going to force you to do something you don`t want to" he said diving in for the kiss again

"Not even your mum?"

"Come on, did you have to bring up my mum at this very moment" he said collapsing on her

"I am sorry but yeah, your mum can be scary sometimes"

"Well, she can be difficult but that`s nothing you can not handle" he said as he tried to continue what they were doing. He could feel that she was kind of not into it anymore. He stopped and looked at her as if he was studying her face. She droped her eyes avoiding his

"Babe what`s up, this is starting to feel like it isnt just about a party, did something happen?"

Once again she had no response keeping her eyes as far away from his as posible "wow, so there is something going on, can you at least answer this, do you still want to marry me?"

"Of course, please trust me when I say there is nothing I want more than that" Maggie said with a quivering voice looking at him putting her hands around his neck

"Maggie I thought we agreed on not keeping staff from each other, what is happening?"

"Jackson I, I can`t" she said with her eyes starting to get a little teary

"You can`t or you won`t" he said as he started zipping up his pants and getting off her

"Jackson please, I love you, I really do and I want you to trust that I love you, that is all that matters to me right now" he stood with one knee still on the bed buttoning his shirt up

"Are you sure about that?" before Maggie could respond Harriet walked in jumping on the bed to lie next to Maggie

"Hey little miss" she said while Jackson scooped her up giving her a kiss and putting her back next to Maggie . Maggie wanted to tell him so bad but she remembered Catherine`s words. She laid there on the bed making small talk with Harriet while she closely kept an eye on Jackson who was finishing dressing up.

"I will see you two later okay and this conversation isnt over" he said giving the two ladies the goodbye kisses. Maggie stayed with Harriet in bed for a while as her shift wasnt starting until a little later.

"Please hold the lift!" someone shouted from a distance which made Jackson to quickly hold the open button when someone came storming in.

"Oh thank you" Jackson didnt respond to her since his head was buried on an ipad trying to rearrange his schedule for the day. She slowly lifted her head up after getting herself together and slightly let out a chuckle seeing Jackson "Jackson is that you!" she said. Jackson turned his head to look at whoever had entered the lift

"Natalie, am I right?" he said with a little scowled face

"This time you remembered" she said giving him a warm smile

"Of course, what floor?" he said ready to press the button. She peeped to check and then said "Ah same as yours, I am here to see Bailey before the day gets chaotic"

"Okay, so you and Bailey know each other?" Jackson asked with his eyes back on his ipad

"Kind of, you uh, you look different" she said while Jackson raised his brow looking at her "I mean in a good way, you should always wear blue it makes your eyes pop" Jackson said nothing but let out a little laugh as she thought of how Maggie had said the same thing.

"What" she said looking at her while he just shook his head looking at his ipad " I mean your eyes are really pretty" she continued in a clumsy flirtatious manner

"Nothing" he said as the elevator opened to their designated floor. The two walked in to Bailey`s office where all the board members and some represantatives from the foundation were. Bailey quickly introduced her as the new trauma surgeon Dr Collins. Everyone introduced themselves while Bailey paged Owen so he could show her around making sure she spends time with every department head.

"You two know each other?" Meredith asked Jackson after they had left

"Well I wouldn't say it like that, I have seen her a couple of times"

"She sure acts like you two go way back"

"Okay then lets get this meeting started" Catherine said.

Maggie was called in for an emergency the moment she walked into the hospital, she quickly went to drop off Harriet at daycare and changed to her scrubs making her way to where she was needed. After finishing her surgery she was so tired as it had taken a long time. She was met with Owen who introduced the new trauma attending, she then asked to be excused to be with her today and delegated another cardio surgeon to show her the ins and outs of the cardiac flow. She walked to Meredith`s lab where she found her engrossed in her study. She collapsed on the chair letting out a big sigh

"What is wrong with you?" Meredith asked

"I am just tired, I just saw the new trauma attending, she is really pretty"

"Well, she is..." Meredith stopped mid sentence "she is annoyingly perky for a trauma surgeon"

"When have you ever liked a person the first time you met them? You know what, never mind, how are you coming up with your research?"

"Grey can I talk to you?" Jackson said walking in not realising Maggie who was seated at the corner just behind the door

"Yeah sure, is everything okay?"

"Okay then, I am just gonna go" Maggie said standing up to leave

"No, no need. Its about the abdominal transplant we did a while back. I need you to assist me if you can in the next couple of days. Still waiting for the donor who is a close match, will let you know when exactly during the week"

"Sure I will see what I can push around, hey there is a new trauma surgeon maybe you can ask her. Maggie thinks she is pretty"

"Come on Grey, I need someone I trust on this"

"Okay then"

"Thank you" he said giving Maggie a look and leaving the two sisters behind

"What was that all about?" Maggie asked her sister

"Nothing, just wanted to see how many people think Dr Collins is pretty, are you two okay because I could cut the weiredness with a knife between you two?"

"He wants to talk because he knows I am hiding something from him. He was probably hoping to talk to you about that"

"How does he know?"

"He figured it out because according to him I have been a little distant since the party, I tried to hide behind the pressures that come with being an Avery but it didnt work. I just said I can`t tell him so he is unhapy with me right now. I don`t know how long I will keep that up. Gosh I hate secrets" Meredith knew how hard this was for her sister.

"Well you are going to have to deal with it, I can`t help you on that. Its only been a few days and you are already breaking"

"I know, I am hopeless when it comes to keeping secrets because God knows I wouldnt want anyone to do that to me. Oh damnit I got to go I am being paged again seems like someone just made a mess in the OR, can this day get any worse" she said with a groan running to where she was being paged. Her surgery got complicated and it took long for her to finish. By the time she got out, she got a text from Jackson letting her know that Catherine had taken Harriet and the two needed to talk, she however opted to prolong her post op check up only to get home very late finding Jackson already asleep.
