Chapter 20 Silly Little Trinket
Marluxia's POV
I had just arrived in a new world.
I looked down at my outfit...and I realized something.
"Wait a minute", I started. "I've worn this outfit before. I am in Kenai's world!"
After I said heard, I heard movement!
I quickly climbed into the trees and looked around.
I saw a hooded figure looking for something.
As they were looking around...a bear popped up from behind them!
I quickly went down and tried to help them, but when I got to them, I noticed something.
The person (who's hood had fallen off) was a woman, and the bear was Kenai!
For some reason, I could understand what he was saying!
"Nita", he said in shock.
Then, he dropped the woman named Nita, who he apparently knew.
Then, she started hitting him!
"Watch it", he commanded. "No Nita!"
After Kenai said this, he pinned Nita's spear to the ground.
"It's me, Kenai", he revealed.
"Kenai", Nita said in shock before standing up. "Is it really you?"
"Yeah", Kenai replied. "It's really me."
"Wow", Nita said in awe. "I'd heard you were a bear, I just didn't realize you'd look so much...like a bear."
"Well", I started as I made my presence known. "What did you expect?"
When I said this, Nita turned around and gasped in shock before pointing her spear at me.
"It's okay", Kenai yelled as he ran in front of me. "This is Lauriam. He's a friend on mine."
"Well", I started. "I wouldn't say friend."
I don't care that Kenai turned back into a bear to take care of Koda. He killed his mother. I could never forgive that.
"Wait a minute", Kenai said suddenly. "You two can understand me?"
"The spell the spirits put on me must effect other people too", Nita stated.
"Wait a minute", Kenai started. "The spirits put a spell on you? Why?"
"Well", Nita started. "This is why."
With that, Nita took a wooden amulet out of the bag she had with her.
"You've kept this", Kenai asked. "After all these years?"
"The great spirits told our shaman that this amulet bonds us as one", Nita revealed.
"Really", Kenai asked.
"So now you and I have to go to Hokani Falls...", Nita started.
"Like when we were kids", Kenai asked.
"And burn it", Nita finished.
"And burn it", Kenai asked angrily. "And burn it? Why?"
"It's no big deal", Nita stated. "It's only a little trinket."
"Little trinket", Kenai asked angrily.
"Well", Nita started. "What I mean is, we were just silly kids. They won't let me get married until it's destroyed."
"Let me think about this", Kenai started. "Sorry, but I can't help you."
"What", Nita and I said in shock.
"So have fun burning the 'silly little trinket' on your own", Kenai said.
"You don't understand", Nita started. "We have to burn it together. Otherwise, it won't work."
"What won't work", I heard a voice say.
Then, I saw Koda.
"Koda", I said happily before holding my arms out to him.
"Lauriam", Koda yelled happily before jumping into my arms. "What are you doing here? Is Ven here too."
"No", I said harshly before realizing that that wasn't a good idea. "He has something else to take care of."
"Boo", Koda said. "Wait a minute. How can you understand me?"
"I think it's because of her", I replied before looking at Nita.
"Nita", Kenai started. "This is my brother Koda. Koda, Nita. Nita, Koda."
"So you're Nita", Koda asked. "Kenai was just dreaming about you."
"I was not", Kenai stated in embarrassment.
"You should hear him", Koda stated. "Nita! Nita!"
"Well", Kenai started before changing the subject. "It's been nice talking to you, but Koda and I have big plans to go to Crowberry Ridge."
At this point, I decided to intervene.
"Look Kenai", I started. "I know that it was insensitive of Nita to talk about a gift they way she did, but don't you think that it's insensitive to use that as an excuse to not help her so she can get married?"
