Kanto Part 10
Ash and Alice are now at the entrance of Rock Tunnel, Ash says, "The Rock Tunnel...it sure is dark inside."
"It is a good thing that we have the HM for Flash, so we can use it to navigate the place."
Once they head inside, with Pikachu using Flash, they can see their surroundings and then they hear some noises. As they turn around, they see a Machop training at a wall.
"Wow, a Machop...it is a great Fighting Type Pokemon." Alice says.
"I know, and I am going to capture it." Ash says as he sends out Zubat to battle. Zubat uses the Gust, and the Machop just jumps and does a backflip, dodging the attack and eventually uses the Karate Chop.
"What skill." Ash says, and then he uses the move again and this time it defeats the Machop, capturing it in the end, not only that, his Zubat also evolves into a Golbat.
Kanto Dex Entry No.42 Golbat: The Bat Pokemon: Poison and Flying Type. Evolved from Zubat at LV:22. Once it strikes, it will not stop draining energy from the victim even if it gets too heavy to fly.
Kanto Dex Entry No.66 Machop: The Superpower Pokemon: Fighting Type. Loves to build its muscles. It trains in all styles of martial arts to become even stronger.
"Now I am getting a lot more Pokemon, don't you think, Alice?" Ash says.
"Of course you are." But then, they hear a large roar and she asks, "Did you hear that, Ash?"
"I heard that...it sounds like..." Then they see a large rock snake roaring and Ash says, "An Onix..."
"What are we going to do, it looks not very friendly..." Alice says while trembling. Ash says, "Don't worry, I'll protect you. Gyarados, I choose you."
As the Pokemon comes out they start to roar at each other and Alice asks, "Are you sure it is a good idea? You are making the matters worse."
"Don't worry, just trust me, use Hydro Pump, Gyarados." Gyarados uses the super effective Water Move, causing the Rock Snake to roar in pain. It tries to use Iron Tail, but Gyarados dodges it. And then another Hydro Pump causes it to fall onto the ground. Ash also captures the Pokemon in the end.
Kanto Dex Entry No.95 Onix: The Rock Snake Pokemon: Rock and Ground Type. As it grows, the stone portions of its body harden to become similar to a diamond, but colored black.
"Never scare me again, Ash." Alice scolds him, who also nods back to her.
After getting out of the Rock Tunnel, they arrive at the Lavender Town as they decide to take a rest. "Finally, Pikachu can take a rest after his hard work." Ash says as Pikachu stops glowing.
Alice says, "Yeah, but I don't think we should be here longer...I heard that this town is full of ghosts..."
"Don't worry, Alice. The Ghosts only lurk inside the Pokemon Tower there at night, so it is not a problem just yet..."
"Yet? What do you mean by that?" Alice asks with a confused tone.
"You see, I heard from my mother that the Ghosts inside the Pokemon Tower can't be attacked by Pokemon moves due to the eerie fog there. So what we should do is to get to Saffron City and purchase the Silph Scope if we want to have it."
"If you say so." Alice says, they decide to visit the Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House, only to find that the owner of the place isn't there.
"Do you know where Mr. Fuji could have gone to?" Ash asks the girl, who shakes her head and says, "I heard from Grandpa that he is heading to the Pokemon Tower because of some paranormal activity, but then he hasn't return yet."
"I see. Then we should come back soon." Ash says as both he and Alice head out of the place. Alice asks, "Do you know what could have happened to Mr. Fuji?"
"I don't know, but we should worry about it later. Let's go to the Saffron City first. We just need to get through Route 8 if we want to get there."
Before they are heading to Route 8, they spot Jessie, James and Meowth again, as they decide to hide and listen to them.
"We came all the way to Lavender Town on the boss' orders, but..." Jessie says. "Where in the world is this old man Fuji supposed to be?"
"The only place left is that spooky old Pokemon Tower, right?" James asks..
"But we couldn't get to the top because of that strange ghost getting in the way." Meowth says.
Just then, a Cubone appears in front of them and James says, "Well, we couldn't find that old man, but at least we found this Cubone. Let's get it back to our hideout. At least we'll have something to show for our trouble."
"Right! Let's head to the Rocket Game Corner in Celadon City." Jessie says.
The Cubone is confused as she gives a yelp, Meowth says, "You said you are finding your mommy? Then your mommy is in Celadon City. Come with us, we'll take you there."
Then they all run off with Cubone following them. Ash says, "They tricked the poor Cubone...we need to save her."
"You're right. We could have gone to Saffron City first, but if we take the underground path in Route 8, then we will be able to get to Route 7 and then Celadon City." Alice says as they nod as they rush towards the Route.
As they are now at Route 8, they decide to look for more Pokemon and then Ash finds an egg. "What is an Egg doing here?"
"I don't know, but it feels like it is going to hatch soon." Alice says as she notices that the egg is shaking a little.
"You're right." Ash says, and then the egg glows and appears from the egg is no other than a Vulpix. "Wow, a baby Vulpix...it is so cute." Alice says.
"She sure is." Ash holds the baby fox Pokemon as it yelps, then it starts to nuzzle at Ash, who also smiles back to the Pokemon.
"You are so lucky to have a Pokemon like you like that..." Alice mutters, but then she feels a nuzzle on her leg and she spots a puppy like Pokemon known as Growlithe. "Oh my, what are you doing here?"
As she hugs it, it starts to lick her face and she laughs, "Stop it, it tickles." Alice laughs a little.
"Seems like we each have a new Pokemon in our team." Ash says.
"Yeah." Then they toss the Pokeball and capture the two of them.
Kanto Dex Entry No.37 Vulpix: The Fox Pokemon: Fire Type. At the time of birth, it has just one tail. The tail splits from its tip as it grows older.
Kanto Dex Entry No.58 Growlithe: The Puppy Pokemon: Fire Type. Very protective of its territory. It will bark and bite to repel intruders from its space.
As they arrive at the Celadon City, they start to look around to see if there are Team Rocket activity, their first location is the Celadon Condominiums. They are amazed to see that the place is a place where people make games based around Pokemon.
"Ash, have you played those games before?" Alice asks him, who nods and says, "I have, and I really like the RPG style because I could know more about Pokemon."
"Me too. It is a good thing that my mother used to buy products such as 3DS and Switch for me." Alice says, "But we didn't see Team Rocket anywhere here."
"You're right, maybe they are at the top of the building." As they head to the top of the building, they are surprised to see four Pokemon looking at them with a curious face.
"Those are Eevee...they are so cute in person." Alice squeals like a fangirl when she sees the Eevee. Pikachu also greets the Pokemon, and they also greet back and play with each other.
"Both Pikachu and Eevee were mascots back at the golden times, and Eevee is said to have a lot of evolutions." Ash says.
"What do we have here." The two are surprised as they turn around, they see a man standing in front of them, causing them to be panicked. "We are sorry, we didn't mean to come here..."
"Don't worry, I see you are new trainers, right? I remember I was the same like you in your age." The man laughs and he says, "The name is Satoshi Tajiri. And I am the founder of this company known as Game Freak."
This causes the two to be surprised. "For real? We are the biggest fans from the works based on Pokemon. It is an honor to meet you."
Seeing how Ash and Alice are trembling with excitement, he laughs a little and says, "I see you like our games, but I want to know, what do you think of those creatures known as Pokemon?"
Ash and Alice look at Pikachu and Eevee, Ash says, "Pokemon are wonderful creatures here in the world. I want to befriend all of them."
Alice says, "Same here. It will be great to make more friends as well."
Satoshi Tajiri laughs a little and says, "I see, as you can see, those four Eevee were abandoned, so we decide to let them stay here until we find suitable trainers for them. And it seems like I found them."
Ash and Alice are shocked, Ash asks, "You mean...we can take those Pokemon?"
"Of course. But be sure to take great care of them." Satoshi says and the two thank him.
Kanto Dex Entry No.133 Eevee: The Evolution Pokemon: Normal Type. Its genetic code is irregular. It may mutate if it is exposed to radiation from Evolution stones.
Before leaving, he also shows them around the place, and they are surprised to see Ken Sugimori, the one who manages to draw all the Pokemon in the game, and Jun'ichi Masuda, the one who thinks up the game's story. Then they give Ash and Alice a deal, if they can fill all the Pokedex, they will give them each a Diploma so they can put it in their houses. They agree to do it and they bid them farewell after leaving the place.
Their next stop is the Celadon Department Store. On the second floor, they manage to buy some Technique Machines so that they can train their Pokemon with different moves, and then at the Fourth floor, they manage to purchase a lot of evolution items so that they can use it on the Pokemon. And in the fifth floor, they also purchase a lot of proteins and drugs so that they can give some boosts to the Pokemon.
After they are relaxing at the rooftop, they decide to use up the stones to evolve their Pokemon. Except for Pikachu, since he refuses to evolve.
Kanto Dex Entry No.31 Nidoqueen: The Drill Pokemon: Poison and Ground Type. Evolved from Nidorina with a Moon Stone. Its hard scales provide strong protection. It uses its hefty bulk to execute powerful moves.
Kanto Dex Entry No.34 Nidoking: The Drill Pokemon: Poison and Ground Type. Evolved from Nidorino with a Moon Stone. It uses its powerful tail in battle to smash, constrict, then break the prey's bones.
Kanto Dex Entry No.38 Ninetales: The Fox Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolved from Vulpix with a Fire Stone. Very smart and very vengeful. Grabbing one of its many tails could result in a 1000-year curse.
Kanto Dex Entry No.45 Vileplume: The Flower Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Gloom with a Leaf Stone. The larger its petals, the more toxic pollen it contains. Its big head is heavy and hard to hold up.
Kanto Dex Entry No.59 Arcanine: The Legendary Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolved from Growlithe with a Fire Stone. A Pokémon that has been admired since the past for its beauty. It runs agilely as if on wings.
Kanto Dex Entry No.71 Victreebel: The Fly Catcher Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Weepinbell with a Leaf Stone. Said to live in huge colonies deep in jungles, although no one has ever returned from there.
Kanto Dex Entry No.134 Vaporeon: The Bubble Jet Pokemon: Water Type. Evolved from Eevee with a Water Stone. Lives close to water. Its long tail is ridged with a fin which is often mistaken for a mermaid's.
Kanto Dex Entry No.135 Jolteon: The Lightning Pokemon: Electric Type. Evolved from Eevee with a Thunder Stone. It accumulates negative ions in the atmosphere to blast out 10000-volt lightning bolts.
Kanto Dex Entry No.136 Flareon: The Flame Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolved from Eevee with a Fire Stone. When storing thermal energy in its body, its temperature could soar to over 1600 degrees.
"And that is all of the Pokemon." Ash says. "We still have some stones left, we can use it to the Pokemon we found on our way."
"You're right." Alice says. "And I think that this Eevee wants to be out of the Pokeball like Pikachu as well." Eevee nods and Pikachu also agrees.
"That's great, Pikachu can have a partner like me and you." Ash says and Pikachu and Eevee are blushing. Then they decide to head back down from the rooftop after drinking some Lemonade and Soda Pops.
