Having Some Kicks

"Shoes"

Set After Graduation

Shego looked at the package in confusion. There lay an elegant pair of boots she'd not remembered ordering. Not that she was complaining as she looked at the blank package. Shoes wasn't exactly a normal gift from her significant other... a dress, jewelry, and copious amounts of flowers were his normal gift choices. She held up the handcrafted appearing black leather. The lacing of them seemed dated, as if they had walked right out of a different era. They were beautiful with the detailed imprints of flowers in the black you only saw in the light... beautiful but nothing she'd ever pick out for herself.

She looked at the dark burgundy dress she was currently wearing for dinner and sighed. They did go with the outfit and it was a gift. She could wear them once and leave them in their closet to collect dust... if he got something similar to them again she would correct it, but for now... it was a small annoyance. She shoved them on and for a few seconds they felt rather loose but as she laced them they felt... perfect.

"Well at least he got the right size," she smirked and stood. They felt like she was wearing nothing, "Okay, so maybe they aren't my style but... there nice."

She'd not mentioned them all through dinner, waiting for Drakken to ask if she liked them, which was typical. It never came. Somewhere around end of dinner after her leg had a twinge and she'd kicked him and to when the beat of the dance music could be heard... she felt as if her feet were in a vice.

"I should have packed flats," she grumbled as they walked in.

"I don't know why you wore boots," shrugged Drakken, "Your the one who insisted we go dancing for your birthday... you could have worn flats in general-"

"Well I was being nice," she scoffed and pulled at the laces. They didn't budge, "Maybe-"

Shego's declaration of leaving stopped as the vice feel subsided and she felt a strange tingle. She stood up and assessed the comfortable feeling. She wondered briefly if something had simply caused her feet to swell briefly. She shook it off and dragged Drakken to the dance floor. Once they started dancing, it was like she couldn't stop... literally. Seven songs in and she wanted to sit down, but the vice feeling was back and her legs had gone numb.

"Shego, how about we get something to drink," whined Drakken. He'd wanted to stop two songs prior.

"I can't," she realized as she tried to force them to stop.

"Well then I'm going to go sit down," he looked annoyed, "Be mad at me later-"

"No. I can't stop," hissed Shego. She gripped his shoulders, "Where the heck did you get these boots?"

Drakken's annoyed look became one of confusion as he looked at them.

"Shego. I didn't get you any boots," he snorted, "Your too picky with shoes and besides. You have enough of them. There half the closet-"

"You didn't get these for me?" she asked in her own confusion, "Then where did they come from?"

Shego would find out two hours, several near dances into traffic, a handful of plasma blasts, Drakken having to restrain her with his vine, and diamond bladed sheers later. As she limped aggressively into their room and grabbed the discard box. Drakken at her heels and brandishing a black eye from an uncontrollable kick. Equally as annoyed and limping. She may have not fought a hard kick to his shin as he teased her a few times during all the chaos.

"There is nothing on the box," grumbled Drakken as she looked at it. Shego practically dismanteling the box, "Shego... there's some writing here."

Shego snatched the lid to see tiny dot like text. She yanked Drakken's glasses out of the end table and handed them to him.

"Well?" she huffed. She watched Drakken fight a smirk as he looked down at the text with his glasses now on, "What does it say."

"Apparently, Mego didn't want to forget your birthday," snickered Drakken, "Since you keep forgetting his."

Shego glared at the box and snatched the lid back. She felt her eye twitch. Her mind racing with the audacity of her brother getting her cursed boots... and they weren't even her style. She felt a desire for revenge and then a thought occurred to her as she looked at the date. She smirked.

"Oh... Oh I won't forget next time," she chuckled, "I need to pay a visit to Cleopatra and her little cursed collection."

"Is this going to be a back and forth sibling war?" sighed Drakken. Shego laughed.

"Oh yes... its on," she continued laughing as she limped out of the room. Drakken stared down at the box.

"I think I should go visit mother for a few days," he muttered to himself as he followed after Shego.

He in fact. Did.
