So, this chapter will be Moonsong's POV split with Junipervine and Quiverhawk's.

Shoutout to all of those who reviewed! I read every single one of them, and try to respond either by PM or through here.

Responses:

FrostedShadowx: I have told this to someone else who asked, but no, Mintcloud will not be mates with Sunshadow. It will be too much like what happened with Snowfur and Bluestar. And no, he will think it is for the greater good. Thank you!

Puppydogs68: We'll have to see! Thanks for reviewing!

Enjoy!

. . .

Moonsong padded through a dark forest, fog surrounding her. She wrinkled her nose in disgust at the smell of rot and mold, almost vomiting as she saw the river. This was no forest.

There was no light coming from the treetops. Everything was dark, but somehow, she could see perfectly fine. She felt the hair raise on her back, and she spun around to see a flash of yellow coming through the shadows. Something, someone, was watching her.

She continued on, taking deep breaths. This was all a dream. It was just her imagination. None of this was real.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Moonsong."

Moonsong almost jumped out of her fur. She spun around, unsheathing her claws. She bared her teeth, letting out a low growl. "Who are you, and how do you know my name?" She scanned the tom up and down. Yellow eyes, short gray fur, lots of scars.

"Who are you?" she demanded once more. He let out a chuckle.

"Moonsong, how do you not recognize me? I'm Cloudchaser's grandfather. Shyspeck is my daughter." he chuckled. Moonsong felt her guard let down just a bit. He can't be too bad if he was related to her father.

He continued on. "As I said, Shyspeck is my daughter. Though, I passed before I could get to know her well. She was only a kit when I was attacked and killed by an enemy patrol." Moonsong sheathed her claws, stepping a bit closer. "I'm sorry. Who was Shyspeck's mother, or your mate?" He looked up.

"A beautiful she-cat. Her name was Icewave." Moonsong cocked her head. "I'm sorry. She must have been a great mate."

"She was," he responded. "The best of them all. But that's not what I'm here for," he went on. "I'm here to meet you, my kin. So, tell me a bit about yourself."

Moonsong shifted on the spongy ground. "Well, my name is Moonsong, as you know, and my brother's name is Sunshadow. Of course, you probably knew that too." She looked up at him, but his face gave nothing away. "Go on; I'm listening."

She took a breath. "Well, my mother is Stormheart, Cloudchaser's mate. I became a warrior about a moon ago."

The tom looked slightly impatient. "Well, do you have any good friends? Mate?" Moonsong flinched a bit. "Don't worry about telling me. What happens here stays here."

She decided to skip the part about Falconstrike. "Well, my best friends are Turtlefoot, Lavenderfern, and-"

"Do you have a mate?" She gulped. "N-no."

"What about Falconstrike?"

She froze, eyes wide. "H-h-how d-did you kn-now about that?" she stuttered. He purred. "I know everything. You two make such a great couple. Shame that Sunshadow can't see that."

The silver she-cat shrugged. "Eh, it's fine. I don't think he would ever see it anyway. What do you think about it?" He smiled. "I think you two make a lovely pair. You'd have such great kits together; they would be leaders."

Moonsong smiled. "Thanks. I don't think that could ever happen though."

"Why not?" The tom looked slightly shocked. "The Code exists so cats don't get confused. You aren't confused about this relationship, are you?"

"Well, no."

"Then there is no reason why you two can't be together. Good pair? Check. Clean relationship? Check. Great skills? Check. Good match? Check. Moonsong, when I was around your age, there were loads of half-Clan cats. After Shyspeck was born, though, the numbers began to get lower and lower as the leaders and deputies started following the Code a bit closer."

Moonsong pondered a bit. "I guess you're right. But what happens if Hawkstar doesn't want them? I know Nightstar wouldn't take me in."

He sighed. "Moonsong, Moonsong. Think about Hawkstar's deputy. Velvetcloud. She would never turn you away, would she? And Cloudchaser is a senior warrior, Shyspeck an elder. All respected cats. It is a guarantee that you would have a place to stay."

She began to feel a bit better about it. "I guess I never though of it that way. Wait. What about Sunshadow? What if he exposes me before I want him to?"

"How do you feel about Sunshadow's opinion?"

"Annoyed. Angry. Upset. Kind of disappointed." She felt her anger boil in her stomach as she began to think back to Sunshadow. "He'll never see. It's my life, and he keeps butting in on it."

"Yes, yes, I agree," murmured the gray tom. "Well, it's almost daylight. We shall speak again tonight. Enjoy your day." He waved his tail. "Wait! You didn't tell me your name," she protested. The tom glanced over his shoulder, smirking a little.

"Quiverhawk. The name's Quiverhawk. Now, step lively, young one. Enjoy your day."

Moonsong was caught in a whirlwind of light and color as she spun out of the dream realm.

. . .

Moonsong woke in her nest. It was about noon, and she could hear the rest of BlazeClan moving around.

She padded outside of the den, yawning. She casually glanced to the side, a golden flash catching her eye.

Sunshadow.

Her brother was eyeing her suspiciously, but when he saw that she was staring at him he quickly glanced away, striding outside.

Ignore him, a voice inside of her murmured. His opinion doesn't matter to you.

You're right. It doesn't.

. . .

Soooo... How did you like it?

Now, I know I'm going to get a lot of questions from this, but trust me, it will all work out in the end.

Until next time!
