Reyna's POV

Reyna walked. Alone, with her hands in her pocket, the sound of tons of people singing off key serving as background music. Though it could hardly be called 'background' music as she was having a hard time hearing her own thoughts through the noise.

She sighed through her mouth, muttering on her way to Cabin 10 about stupid children of Aphrodite and and stupid children of Zeus and stupid her, who thought it would be okay to make out with Jason just because Piper said she was fine with it-

Oh, wait she didn't say that, did she? No, the daughter of Aphrodite had to go and challenge her and everyone knows that she couldn't turned down a challenge.

She almost lost her eyesight and her sense of smell when she reached the Aphrodite Cabin. The hot pink door and the stench of a million different perfumes made her believe that this belonged to a certain Barbara Millicent Roberts.

The knock on the door was almost completely drowned out by the campfire songs.

Reyna was about to knock again when she heard Piper's voice from inside, "Who is it?"

"It's me." And on second thought, she added, "Reyna."

Before she could dwell on how wrong her own name sounded coming from her mouth, the door swung open, revealing a disgruntled girl, who didn't spare her a second glance before falling face first onto her bed.

Reyna walked up to her and put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Piper-"

"Don't." She mumbled, her voice barely legible because of the pillow she was speaking through. Sitting up, the younger girl looked her in the eye and continued, "He likes you and I knew this would happen 'cause. . . well, I've been having dreams."

"What sort of dreams?"

Piper hesitated. "Aphrodite comes to me sometimes and. . . she's been telling me to 'prepare yourself for heartbreak because sometimes things that aren't fated to be can still happen when people are stubborn enough or the feelings are strong enough' and all that. And I figured it out, you know, saw the signs, I'm not an idiot, I can take a hint."

Reyna nodded in understanding. She knew what it was like for people to not take her seriously. It was the reason she took on her cold, fierce approach in the first place.

"And all the gods do is mess things up more." Piper continued. "Sometimes I wish I could just disappear off the face of the Earth, that would make life easier for everyone."

"You don't mean that." Reyna shook her head and sat beside her. The daughter of Bellona occupied herself by drawing mindless patterns on the bedsheet. They looked at each other, the words they spoke, and the meaning behind it, still settling in.

"Piper." A deep voice that she knew too well called from outside.

"It's open."

Jason opened the door, chewing on his bottom lip. "We need to talk-"

"There's nothing to talk about." Piper interrupted, her voice firm. She walked up to the blonde and kissed him on the cheek, whispering something into his ear before leaving.

An uncomfortable silence stretched between the two of them after the door shut and all she wanted to do was go back home and scream into a pillow to ease her raging nerves somehow.

"I guess we need to talk, then." He said, in no more than a whisper.

Reyna stood and walked, in long confident strides, not stopping until she was nose to nose with Jason.

"There's nothing to talk about." She whispered and gently pressed her lips to his.

Piper's POV

So much for hope, she thought bitterly as she walked back to the Zeus cabin, the slight breeze pushing the hair out of her face.

Piper shook her head, she knew that she was actually happy for the two of them. As a daughter of Aphrodite, she, of all people, knew the power of love. The exhilarating feeling that runs through your veins everytime you see 'the one', the way you believe that you can do anything at all. . . even though they hadn't told the other yet.

The calmness of the night seemed to be what affected her own mood; the moon and the stars, twinkling back at her, in the darkened sky.

She chanced a peek into cabin 1 and the sight made her heart melt. Annabeth had her head on Percy's lap and they were talking about things, chuckling occasionally. Nico and Will were on the other side holding hands, blushing, and talking in whispers. Cute was the only word running through her mind as she saw them smiling like fools. Hazel and Frank had taken to cuddling up against each other in silence.

Don't let her go, she had told Jason. In that moment, watching her friends in their happiness, she couldn't help but wonder if this was how it was meant to be for her; alone, without anybody to hold her when she was down, keeping her friends together.

She scoffed aloud, it would be an insult to them if she said that she was the only thing keeping their relationships together.

"Hey, Piper." Percy said, noticing her for the first time.

Everyone's gaze turned towards her.

"What happened?" Annabeth asked, standing with her arms crossed. The rest of them followed suit they crowded around her.

"Nothing. Just leave it." She looked at the ground, uncomfortable with all the attention.

"Piper, we're your friends. We're there for you if something's wrong." Said Hazel.

After explaining the situation in as few words as possible, she nervously met their eyes. Not a second later, she was being wrapped by arms from every side. A smile crept its way onto her face.

"Mind if we join?" Reyna voice said. She was standing behind the seven of them, beside Jason, who had his arm around her.

"'Course." She said, extending a hand to them.

And, standing there, in the loving embrace of all her best friends, she realized that she would have them, no matter what. She could never be truly alone because they were always there for her and they always would be.

A/N : Hi. . . *nervous laughter*. OK, I know this isn't really the best ending but I couldn't think of anything else. I realized half way through that I should have just added the part until Reyna's POV to the first part, making a slightly long but properly ended chapter. That way there wouldn't be this random, cheesy stuff at the end. By the way, Barbara Millicent Roberts is the full name of Barbie, yes that Barbie, the one we all had dolls of when we were children.

If you have any prompts or ideas that you would like for me to write, please comment down below. I'm rapidly running out of ideas, stuck at home with no inspiration. Not that I'm complaining, I like sitting at home but please do. And also online classes have started here and there has been a lot of confusion and technical problems but I'm pretty sure it'll work out, soon enough.

Yours Truly
