Though he wasn't that much taller than Shai - Tai Lung stood over them. His dark presence poured over them like a dark rain from the storm clouds above.

"Hello, sister," Tai Lung greeted, sending shivers up her spine, "It has been a long time. You have grown."

Now that they were face to face, it was easier to tell the difference between the two. Shai had slightly more feminine features, and Tai Lung was a little more muscular than her.

"This is not your home," Shifu declared, "I am not your Master, and Shai is no longer your sister."

Shai shot him a death glare, making Tai let out a deep, menacing chuckle.

"Where's my Scroll," Tai Lung asked.

Shai sighed, "It is not here, brother."

He stared down at her, anger flashing in his red-yellow eyes like bolts of lightning.

"How dare you lie to me," he yelled.

"Why would I lie to you," she shot back, stepping up to him, "The Dragon Warrior has probably taken it halfway across China by now! And, yet, here you are, claiming I'm lying to you!"

Shifu nodded, "Shai is right, Tai Lung. You will never get your hands on that Scroll."

"Very well," he growled. "If you won't hand it over, I will take it from you."

Shai was about to say something, but was cut off by her brother leaping high in the air.

A bright flash of lightning struck across the air, showing Tai Lung about to crash down on them. Shai moved Shifu out of the way of the deathly blow. She threw her forearms up to shield herself from her brother's attack.

When his kick met her arms, a small circular wave of yellow emitted from the impact - a loud, echoing crack followed as the stone stairs beneath Shai broke.

Tai Lung was thrown backwards, then Shifu attacked him while Shai shook herself out of her slight daze.

She hated the thought of doing it, but when Tai Lung slammed Shifu through the doors, Shai had no choice but to join the battle against her brother.

--

It was either Shai or Po that would be able to stop him. But, now that the Dragon Warrior was out of the picture, it was left up to Shai.

One way or another, Shai was going to rid of her brother's evil; whether she could make the good in him shine through the thick darkness of his soul, or she would banish him to the Spirit Realm. Either choice she would make, Shai knew that the village would be left in ruins like last time.

Tai Lung threw Shifu into one of the columns, so now it was Shai's turn. While his back was still turned, she bolted up to him and took his legs out from underneath him.

"Brother, please," Shai pleaded, her eyes full of desperation, "Stop this!"

"Or what," Tai Lung spat, flipping himself to his feet. Shai said nothing. Her brother smiled, "That's what I thought. You can't do anything because you're just the same, weak little girl who believed her brother would change!"

"But you can change," Shai persisted, taking Tai Lung by the hands.

Her red-yellow, tear-filled eyes seemed to gaze deep into his soul.

"I can help you. Please, Tai," she whispered sadly, the tears falling down her face. "I can't lose you again."

Tai Lung's dark, hardened demeanor faltered slightly. Shai gently placed her forehead against his, closing her eyes briefly at the moment she longed to have with her brother again.

"Please, Tai," she repeated.

Tai Lung relaxed; as Shifu watched from the background, he really thought Shai had done it.

The two stayed there for a moment, enjoying the brother-sister company they had longed for all these years they had been apart.

Suddenly, something snapped in Tai Lung's head. He let out a sharp growl, tightening his grip on Shai's arms to an unbearable level. He twisted her arms, then sent a kick to her ribs that sent her flying backwards.

Despite the sickening pain in her side, Shai hastily stood and got in a stance ready to really face him. They ran at each other, throwing deathly blows to each other when they met in the middle.

Shifu sighed - he knew Shai wanted to save Tai Lung... but now it seemed it was too late for him.
