"Hey it's not so bad when you get rid of all the blood." Mike looked at his arm where a long line of skin was exposed. El covered it with two big bandages because it was so long. A tear slipped down her cheek. "El?" He caused her to look up at him. "It's okay." She looked down at her hands.
"I should have been stronger." She quietly said. " You just got your powers back. They are bound to be a little rusty." El nodded in agreement. "Micheal!" Yelled his mom from the top of the stairs. " What!" Mike yelled back. " El needs to go home. Joyce is here to pick her up." "Coming!" He yelled.
He grabbed El's hand to help her up from the ground but she wouldn't budge. " Can you come with me?" She asked shyly. "Um…. Sure." He told her as she finally stood up.

"Where is he?" Joyce asked the two kids who stood in the kitchen. " Gone." El responded ashamed. " Gone? What do you mean gone?" Joyce's anxiety was getting the best of her. " Brenner has him and everyone else in our group." Mike piped up. There was a deathly silence that loomed over them. " I'll figure something out." Joyce responded.
"El get ready for bed. Mike, I'll drive you home." "Wait." El said cooly. She rushed into her bedroom and not even a minute later came back with two pieces of jewelry. "Here." She handed him one. It was a golden bracelet with the number 011 printed on in.
"What is this?" He asked. " A gift. See." She showed him hers that had the word Mike on it. " So we'll always be close." She told him to blush. " Wow. Um…. Thanks." He told her to put it on. El nodded. " I'm going to go heat up the car. Meet me down there when you're ready Mike." Joyce told the kids. " Okay." He responded.
Once Joyce was gone the two grabbed one another's hand. " I'll see you tomorrow right?" El asked. "Yeah of course." He smiled. She closed the gap between them giving Mike a passionate kiss before stepping back. "Bye." She said as she went to go get ready for bed. "Bye."

El closed the back door as she called out Mike's name. When she got no response, she walked up the stairs and into the hallway. She slowly walked through the hallway looking through each door in hopes of finding him. After looking in the kitchen , she headed for the stairs that led to the upstairs bedrooms. She had a bad feeling about the whole situation.
She took a step on the stairs and called out his name. " El." came the response from behind her. " Are you okay?" He asked her to come to her side and grab her hand." Uhh." She nodded her head as he led her down to the basement.
As she walked down the stairs she noticed something shiny by the couch. She let go off his hand and snatched up the shiny thing. What she picked up surprised her. It was the bracelet she had given him the night before. "What's this?" She asked, hoping it had just accidently fallen off.
"Oh! I don't know. Probably my mom's jewelry. He responded as he sat down on the knew that something was up. This clearly wasn't Mike. An ear splitting scream filled the basement as El threw the fake Mike against a wall.
The creature immediately turned to smoke before it could hit the wall. It rushed towards the girl causing her to use her powers to stop it from reaching her. It bounced back using its powers to counter hers. A screech came from the creature causing her to cover her ears.
The pain was disortanating. It gave it a chance to wrap her up in an envelope of smoke. She screamed in protest as the two disappeared from the basement.
