Since tonight it's Homecoming, everyone is having a slow morning. I woke up later than I wanted to but it's fine, there's not much to do. There's the fact that we can go help at school for tonight but I'm not interested. Ezra and Natalie already left to go help. They promised their friends to be there and I'm happy they have other friends to drag around. Noah sits in front of me which brings back my attention to reality instead of daydreaming. "Hey." I greet Noah. "Hey, can we talk?" Noah asks me. "Sure, what is it?" I ask him. "Well, it's about tonight..." Noah says but I cut him off. "Don't worry, we won't get in your way," I assure him. "What?" Noah exclaims. "It's just, Mikael is a big threat. but I know, we know you and your siblings want to take care of it. It's not like you're a thousand or anything anyway." I tell him. "You talked about this?" He asks. "Yeah, we did. I know that if someone like that was a part of my life, I would want to handle it myself. Be it for proving something to myself or revenge. Besides, everyone is terrified of him, no thanks to you." I explain and he laughs. "I wasn't trying to scare you. I just wanted you to be careful. If he knows how important you are to me, he will definitely hold it against us." Noah clarifies. "I know, it's still terrifying," I say. "So you'll stay out of it?" Noah questions. "Well, we'll keep an eye out but yeah, we'll enjoy our homecoming," I assure him. "Good," Noah says. "Can I ask you something?" Noah asks. "Sure."
"Did you ever think about always living here?" Noah asks. "I guess. When I was younger, I wanted to stay here or at least close by." I tell him. "Why?" Noah asks. "I don't know. I guess it was just in case I needed someone. Staying here or nearby meant I'd always have my parents when I needed them. Even now, I want to stay close, but I know that I'll never be happy here nor will I have a single normal day." I explain. "You want to stay here for Jeremy?" Noah asks. "A little and a little for myself. There are so many memories, so much here that feels hard to leave behind. It's not just the people, it's so scary to leave everything you've ever known behind." I tell him. "I guess that's true." Noah agrees. "Where's Rebekah? I haven't seen her since yesterday." I ask Noah. "She's at the boarding house. She's pretending to side with them." Noah explains. "You know they're not actually going to believe her right?" I ask him. "Yeah, don't worry about it. We aren't taking any chances." Noah assures me. "Are you nervous?" I ask him. "More anxious, really. I just want this to be over. It's been a thousand years coming." Noah says. I hum in agreement. I pick up my book that I abandoned in favor of daydreams while Noah starts the TV.
After lunch, everyone settles around the living room to watch a movie. It's some hero movie that I don't know the name of. Ezra keeps making comments which is what he always does while Natalie sighs exasperatedly every time he opens his mouth. The two of them are quite the people to watch movies with. Before the fight scene, there is the typical villain monologue which is something that Ezra always complains about. I mean he's not wrong, if you're going to kill someone just skip the monologue and don't give people a chance to escape. The minute Ezra opens his mouth to complain, everyone groans. "You all know I'm right," Ezra exclaims loudly over everyone's groans. "Yeah, you are." I agree with him and he gives me a smile and winks. "I can't believe you're agreeing with him," Noah says. "Okay, so from what I understand when you drink from humans you stand there and give them your life story," I tell him and he smirks. "Exactly, it would be so absurd," Ezra says. "Fine, I guess you have a point. But still, it's a movie, monologues are important." Noah says. "No they just stretch things out, they have no actual use," Ezra says annoyance lacing his voice.
Ezra for all his ' I have no emotions ' act, hates action movies and loves rom-coms and even cheesy love stories. It's really cute, especially since whenever he's watching he is so concentrated and fully immersed. He smiles at the really cliche scenes and even cries during sad breakup parts. "It doesn't matter, the villain monologue is something I like. Whether or not it's practical or even if it's important doesn't matter to me. If you don't like it then don't watch. Simple." Natalie says. "Exactly. We like these movies and scenes so either bear with us or don't watch." Arya agrees. "Yeah and next time you start with your rants, I'll just spell you into silence," Ares warns. "Fine. I'm leaving. I'm tired anyway, I'm going to take a nap before the dance. Bye." Ezra says and rushes out of the room. "Thank God. Rewind it a little let's watch in peace." Ares says.
After the movie, everyone goes to their rooms to get ready for the dance which is in an hour and a half. I go to Ares' room to get my makeup done because I'm too lazy to learn how to. I first wash my face and then sit down on the vanity chair. "I can't believe you're doing this without a fight," Ares says. "Well, I've decided to just go with it. I'm only going to do this once so why complain!" I explain. "I'm glad. I promise you this will be a night you never forget." Ares says. "Because of the significance of the dance or the fight that's going to happen?" I ask him. "Very funny." Ares deadpans. He starts my makeup and explains what he's doing as well. He always does this even though I've told him so many times that I'm never going to be able to remember or make the effort of actually doing it.
After makeup is done, I go to my room and put my dress on. After that, I comb my hair in an updo, because open hair irritates me, especially when I'm wearing a dress and am going to be packed in a room with people. I grab a small purse and my phone before going downstairs. Adam and Ezra are sitting on the couch talking about something. Well, from what I can tell Ezra is ranting. "What's going on?" I ask them as I stand behind the couch. "Nothing. Ezra's being himself and complaining..." Adam starts but Ezra cuts him off. "I have every right to complain. Natalie and I worked hard to decorate the school for the dance and apparently Klaus' genius idea was to change the location. For no reason." Adam chuckles. "Well, I'm sure it's for a good reason. And I can say for sure that Klaus can plan a better party." I tell him. "Yeah, but... If Noah would've told us sooner, we could've just stayed home." Ezra exclaims angrily. "Maybe you should talk to him then?" Adam says. "He already left," Ezra exclaims. "He did? When?" I ask him. "Like 20 minutes ago," Ezra tells me. "Okay, did Ares leave too?" I ask him. "No, I just saw him. I think he's coming with us." Adam says. "And when are we leaving? After the dance ends?" Ezra asks. "No. Now." Natalie says coming to stand next to me.
Arya comes and stands next to Natalie. "Wow, you guys look amazing. " I compliment Arya and Natalie. They both look amazing. Arya was wearing a short pink dress that had a v neckline and the color really suits her. Since the dress was really simple, she was wearing a small crescent moon necklace and long pink heart earrings. The necklace wasn't big but went well with her dress. She also had a small pink and gold clutch for her phone. On the other hand, Natalie wearing a beautiful pink and blue dress with a golden flower pattern. She was also wearing a gold choker with stars and small stud earrings that were blue and paintings of pink flowers. She had a blue and gold clutch similar to Aryas. "Thanks, Elle, you look great too," Natalie says and I smile at her. "Yeah, you look beautiful," Arya says.
"Where's Felix?" Natalie asks. "He is still getting ready. I think he's with Ares." Ezra tells her. "So, what's our plan?" Adam asks. "Nothing," I tell them. "What? You are not serious are you?" Ares asks, coming to stand next to me. "No, I'm not. I promised Noah we'll stay away from it." I explain. "So? We can still look out. It's a good idea to keep it a secret." Natalie suggests. "I'm not doing anything. And you told me you were terrified of Michael, shouldn't you be happy?" I ask her. "No. I mean he scares me a lot but he scares them too. And you were right, their fear is going to lead to a misstep. We should be there when that happens." Natalie explains. "I agree with her. Come on, Elle. We'll just keep an eye, we'll only interfere if it gets too out of hand." Ares suggests. "I'm not going to stop you. But this is something I know everyone wanted to enjoy. I just thought that it would be better if they handled Mikael since they've been running from him for so long. It would just be better to let them, I don't finally put an end to a nightmare." I clarify. "I guess that makes sense." Arya agrees. "I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything. But, how about we give them a chance and only interfere if we feel like they're in danger." I propose.
After, we decide on how to act out our plan, which was just to ensure no one else gets the White Oak and somehow kill Mikael too. So basically, we have no plan, it's just go with the flow. We reach Tyler's house and it's packed. I don't think there are so many people in Mystic Falls let alone in our high school. Klaus is definitely not risking it. "Alright, let's enjoy it while we can," Adam exclaims. We leave the house and go to the backyard where everyone seems to be lost in their world. The band is good and we all try to enjoy the music and the dance and even the alcohol.
NOAH'S POV:
Everything has been set up. We have a plan and a backup. Nik's hybrids are all over the place, me and Elijah are going to be out back and step in when necessary. Even if it's foolish, I do hope that Ares and the others stay far from the fight. It's wishful thinking but still. I look around to see that neither my brothers nor the others are here. After a few minutes, I see Elle walking towards me. "Hey." I greet her. "Hey, are you okay?" Elle asks. "Yeah. Just anxious, to end this." I tell her. " You'll be okay right?" She asks. "I'll be fine," I assure her. I know that I can count on them. "Where's everyone else?" I ask her. "Out back. We plan on staying there, away from all the drama." Elle tells me. "I somehow believe you. Have fun and be careful." I tell her. "You too. Just know we're here if you need help." Elle says. She gives me a tight hug before leaving. I watch as she disappears into the crowd. I sigh before going outside. Hopefully, the worst result will be the Salvatores' death or better yet the doppelganger's. I watch as Nik walks towards the stage and gets up to make an announcement. I look around to see the witch, doppelganger, and the two vampires talking nearby. The human is also close, talking to Tyler and the ripper. I wonder if they are all involved in this or is it only the doppelganger and her boy toys that are idiotic. I see Elijah standing close to the stage, he seems to be keeping an eye on the little gang of dumbasses. I know he's trying to see if they talk about Rebekah, Elle was right. She hadn't shown up at all. I wonder if they have her locked with magic or is it a dagger? Hopefully, this'll be over soon and we can go find her.
After Nik goes back into the house, I follow the lead and stay on the floor, keeping an ear out. I hear him talking to some of his hybrids before starting a game of beer pong. It's not long before I hear the sound of people leaving and focus my hearing just in time to hear Mikael and Nik greet each other. Nik goes on in his way, taunting Mikael. Just when I thought to go out even if to just nice things along, Mikael holds Elena as leverage. I might just get my wish. I head towards the front door and see Elijah doing the same. "To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever, with no one at your side? Nobody cares about you anymore, boy! What do you have other than those whose loyalty you forced? No one. No one." Mikael says as he holds onto Elena. "Now, now there's no need for low blows. Even though it is your style." I say as I stand next to Nik. "Henrik!" Mikael exclaims clearly surprised. That in itself is surprising, didn't the Salvatores' tell him about me. Oh well, good for us. "Mikael. Always quite a nightmarish event to see you." I greet him. "If you kill her you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on. Kill her. Come on, old man." Nik challenges. "Your impulse, Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great." Mikael taunts. This is inconvenient.
I sigh but before I can do anything, Mikael stabs Elena. The next moment Damon rushes towards Nik, White Oak raised to attack. I put my hand out and knock him back, the White Oak falls at the side, just outside the door but before Mikael can get, Elijah grabs it and rushes towards Mikael. Nik gains his bearings and knocks Mikael's knees from under him and Elijah pins him to the floor handing the stake to Nik. As much as none of us want to admit it, Mikael is strong, stronger than us. I make sure to hold him down with a spell. Just as Nik is about to put the stake through his heart, the Bennett witch interrupts us along with the Salvatore. Really? These people just don't know when to quit. As the Bennett tries to stop me by using an aneurysm spell, Elijah charges at Salvatore and snaps his neck. I flick my hand and she flies off the porch.
I focus my attention back on Mikael just as Nik stabs the stake through him. He pushes the stake further in and Mikael screams out. I release my hold on and both Elijah and Nik step back as a fire starts from the stake and Mikael stumbles before falling to his knees still screaming. The fire engulfs him before going out completely. We all just stare at him for a few seconds which breaks when Ares walks out of the house towards me. He doesn't say anything just outs his arm around my waist. I turn toward him and pull him into a hug. It's over. It's finally over.
