Chapter 11: A New Era Begins
While Blue did retain her trust in Owen and believed his words about taking her and Delta somewhere safe, she also recalled how bewitching her unrestricted and boundless life on Isla Nublar had been with her sister. If the two Velociraptors left Owen, they would once again be on their own, this time in a hostile new environment that was unlike anything they had encountered before now. However, Blue and Delta had managed to survive together for a substantial amount of time of Isla Nublar (unbeknownst to either sibling, it had been 3 years since they faced the Indominus rex, at the cost of Echo and Charlie's lives), which had been just as, if not even more, unforgiving than where they now stood. Furthermore, while there would likely be many more human adversaries to contend with, if the raptors' skirmish with the three mercenaries was an indicator of anything, Delta and Blue were clearly capable of handling such threats themselves, especially when working together. With all this taken into consideration, Blue chirped at Delta for her input, only for the latter to let out a bark making it clear that the final decision was up to Blue, since she was the older of the two (though if it was Delta's decision, she'd be quick to choose the wilds of California that stood before her).
With that, Blue finally made her choice; she chittered at Owen before turning around and running towards the foliage, with Delta by her side. As the pair retreated to begin their new lives, Blue and Delta both let out vocalizations directed towards Owen, turning around to look at their alpha and father-figure one last time before finally slipping into the greenery together. As the raptors began making their way through the Californian wilderness, a part of Blue wondered if she'd made the right decision leaving Owen. However, this was soon overtaken by the new sensations of the Pacific Northwest forest kicking her and Delta's instincts into overdrive as they swiftly darted around and through various kinds of foliage, assessing their new environment and the potential prey it was home to.
A few days later, the scent of humans caught the duo's attention, and they followed it to see how great in numbers this threat might be; after some time traversing a gradually more desert-like terrain, the raptors came to a stop at the edge of an outcropping that overlooked a large suburban neighborhood. The closest thing the two of them had seen to these structures were those found back on Isla Nublar (on the Main Street portion of Jurassic World), but Blue and Delta had learned to associate such assemblies with humans. As such, while this neighborhood was a substantial distance away from the raptors' territory, the sheer number of houses (though neither sister were aware that was the proper name for such structures) suggested a sizable number of humans were present. As such, even though neither of them could smell or otherwise detect any other raptors in their vicinity, Blue and Delta let out several 'backup' (for lack of a better term) calls characteristic of their kind as they both looked out toward their uncertain future.
A/N
And that wraps up the story! However, I'm considering making a bonus chapter that's essentially an alternate ending. I'd like to give a thank you to Ricardo753 for the idea(s) described; although the chances of me following through with an alternate ending are rather low, I'll nonetheless keep it in mind. Once again, thank you very much to all those who read this (my alternate take on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and have a great rest of the day, wherever you may be!
