Mother May I (Tic Toc)
"Odd title." Winter commented
"By Tic Toc, I can only guess it's like a clock." Glynda said to which Qrow asked "Then why is the K missing? Pretty sure it isn't a mistake."
"Let's find out!" Ruby said as she fidgeted in her spot.
The video began with a shot of a ticking clock before zooming into the inside where the band was standing on a gear.The song begun with Qrow speaking low with the instruments not fully registered through.
Qrow: Tic Toc, time is up...Tic Toc, time is up!
The instruments went on full blast with the band headbanging.
"Now this is awesome!" Jaune said as he began headbanging along with Yang, Ruby, Nora, and strangely Blake.
Taiyang was nodding his head along with Summer and Raven. Qrow nodded his head a little while tapping his foot.
The video showed different videos of celebrities starting from the early 20's with Buster Keaton on a train, to Bing Crosby, Marilyn Monroe, Sean Connery, Kevin Bacon, Fred Durst and then to the latest celebrities like Amber Heard, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry. The song started with Taiyang shouting and Qrow singing.
Taiyang: I know you!
Qrow: You're the one on the magazine covers and everyone loves ya
Taiyang: Such a star!
Qrow: You're the one everyone wants to be like, but no one can be
"Wow, it's awesome that Dad gets to sing as well." Ruby said while hugging Yang's shoulder who hugged back. "He gets his moments to shine.
"So this is pretty much about celebrities?" Pyrrha asked.
"Looks like. Though I don't know who any of them are." Qrow said.
The chorus started with Qrow singing in a beautiful but sad voice as it showed video footage of families at households.
Qrow: Mother May I have a moment? Feel I've come undone. Can you stop me from this spinning? Nowhere left to run.
"Wow! That was beautiful!" Pyrrha put a hand over her heart.
Winter couldn't help but admire that style of singing. But it was coming from Qrow. But it was so beautiful. Again, from the drunkard.
The video then cuts to Qrow looking directly at the camera and spoke the following lyrics.
Qrow: Special's a term that they use To describe someone When they're afraid to admit that they're right!
"I've never heard something more true in my life." Glynda said.
"Preach into the choir, Glyn." Raven nodded
The video cut back to the band members playing their instruments and showing different angles of them.
Taiyang: I see you!
Qrow: You're the one that's in all of the movies, on everyone's TV's
Taiyang: Such a farce!
Qrow: You're convinced that your shit doesn't stink, And we all should adore you
"That's not necessarily the terms I'd use, but I've met several members like that." Winter spoke.
"And we all know which dickhead fits that bill." Qrow said
"I don't think we do." Ruby pointed to herself and her classmates.
The chorus began once again with Qrow singing in that beautiful but sad tone as it showed footage of civilians, both human and faunus, staring at the camera. The background showed cities devastated by war.
Qrow: Father can you stop this bleeding? Hate what we've become. I've turned my cheek so many times. Fear I'm almost done!
"I will never get used to that melody." Weiss said as she closed her eyes to the sound of his voice.
"So he hates celebrities basically living in luxury while people are suffering. Rather... Admirable, I must admit." Winter said.
Qrow glanced at her with a smirk "Finally, something not so rude from Ice Queen."
Both Winter and Weiss shout "Hey!"
Ruby giggled and Yang was laughing.
Ironwood simply rolled his eyes in amusement.
The video cut back to Qrow facing the camera except this time, his face was pale with sunken eyes and cheeks. Almost like a skeleton.
Qrow: Death is a term that they use To describe something they can't accept Because it comes with a price!
"Woah, that was weird." Blake said
"The lyrics or Qrow's face?" Yang asked
"Yes." That was all that was answered
Qrow: Tic Toc... Tic Toc
What begun was a breakdown that transitioned into a badass guitar solo. The camera showed quick cuts of celebrities and civilians before showing Summer playing the solo.
"Mhm, another badass solo presented by Summer." Taiyang nodded.
"Man, I need to brush up on my guitar." Summer noted to which Ruby's eyes sparkled "Oooh! Will you be able to teach me!?"
"We'll see about that, Petal." She ruffled her daughter's hair.
The song slowed down with a nice low guitar melody as Qrow crouched down and clutched his hands together in front of his face as he prayed. Sort of.
Qrow: Grant me the serenity, To accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference
"It takes a lot to accept the things you don't want to accept." Ozpin said as he took a sip of his coffee.
"No kidding." Qrow agreed.
The chorus began one last time to which Winter began to subconsciously sway her head from side to side from the melody.
The video showed the band playing as the location changed from the inside of a clock, to mansion owned by Bill Murray, to a war torn Armenia before appearing back at the inside of the clock.
Qrow: Father can you stop this bleeding? Hate what we've become I've turned my cheek so many times Fear I'm almost done!
The video ended with everyone's head down as Raven played her guitar in a low and beautiful tune.
The Orb appeared and asked "So what did you think?"
"One of my favorites!" Jaune said
"It was beautiful." Weiss answered
"Favorite song so far." Blake said.
"I found it enjoyable." James Ironwood replied.
"I... Will admit that was a good song." Winter said a little hesitantly.
"I always enjoy their guitar solos." Summer said
"Only because it's you doing them." Taiyang remarked with a smirk.
Summer stuck her tongue out at him like a mature adult which made the rest of the team roll their eyes.
"Let us continue." The Orb spoke before disappearing
