Wyatt's eyes dimmed back to normal and they both became aware of their surroundings once again, then gradually they both realized what just happened. They both blushed and an awkward silence filled the air. Finally, Wyatt spoke up, trying to ramble out an apology.
"Addie I don't know what happened…. The heat just took over." but Addison stop him taking a deep breath she finally spoke
"It wasn't your fault Wyatt, I committed to this just as much as you did. I don't know if I can say what took over me or why I suddenly felt a need for… you know but what happened, happened and there's nothing either of us can do to make it unhappen, and honestly I don't want it to unhappen because as it was my first time I enjoyed it, I glad that it was with you."
Wyatt sighed before replying "I lost control of myself and my wolf, you could have been hurt. I'm just glad your okay." he bent down, placing a kiss on her forehead. She closed her eyes breathing in his scent, which smelt of pinecones and the forests' early morning dew and it didn't take long for her to get lost in the scent all while something inside her silently stirred for more.
Wyatt cleared his throat and she suddenly realized that he moved away from her. She blushed slightly as she smiled shyly. "We Should get you home, it's been a long day, Addison nodded and began to work her way to the shore to get out, but was stopped short when a gust of wind blew and she realized that she had no clothes on. She quickly dipped herself back into the water, blushing "uh I think I lost my clothes" she began swimming around trying to find and gather all of her clothes, so she could put them back on. After doing all of this they began to walk home, an awkward silence. About halfway through the walk, Addison broke the silence.
What do you mean by the heat took over" flushing slightly at her question.
Wyatt flushed just as much. "Well just like normal animals, when our wolves will go into heat. But at times that we are in heat, our instinct is to go looking for our mate, and um…. Well uh…. " His face suddenly became a beet like red. Addison noticed and giggled before saying, "reproduce?" Wyatt groaned in embarrassment shaking his head. "Yeah, that "
"So how do you know when you find your mate," she asked
"I'm told it's supposed to be an instinctual thing, something that is just known. Like an instant connection that can be felt between both pairs."
" well, Does she have to be a wolf?"
"Yes"
"Have you found your mate yet?" she said tilting her head.
"I'm not sure yet to be honest"
she gave him a puzzled look "what do you mean by that"
He chuckled "Are we playing 20 questions now because I can think of a few for you as well, like what happened back there?"
Addison went silent and blushed furiously the rest of the walk to her doorstep was silent
When they arrived at her doorstep, they stood in awkward silence.
"I'll see you later," Wyatt said, breaking the silents, he leaned in to kiss her forehead but instead his lips met hers, His inner wolf stirred restlessly as he abruptly pulled himself away, he sighed.
"Addison today,...today was a mistake. You have a boyfriend, and what happened today never should have happened and can never happen again. A lot of things could have gone wrong, worse than it already had. For some reason, I can't control myself around you especially while we're alone together, so we can't hang out anymore or at least until I find out what's going on with me." she went to grab his hand but he pulled away letting out a low growl. Causing her to step back a bit startled
"Don't touch me...please. The last thing I wanna do is lose control of myself and hurt you. I'll be away for a while probably, never come into the forest alone, it's dangerous " not knowing what else to say he stormed off, disappearing into the forbidden forest.
Addison stood on her front porch for the longest time staring, when she went inside she ran to her room, lay on her bed, and cried, when her mother knocked to come in she told her she wanted to be alone. The next day which was Sunday she stayed inside of her room the entire day.
When Monday came along, she dragged herself out of bed to get ready for school. Throughout the school day, she looked for Wyatt but he never showed up. The week went by, then 2, but Wyatt still never showed.
Addison pov
As the weeks passed, I began giving up seeing Wyatt again, and in time that became alright with me. Every day went back to its normal boring routine, life went on as if nothing ever happened. Thursday morning I woke up and instantly made a run to the bathroom as I got sick, I groan as I took out my phone ready to call into school when a notification popped up from my menstrual calendar,
'Have you started yet'
The thought hit me and shattered my insides "No," I slid down the wall and began to cry "no, no, no no no"
I scrambled to my room, digging through my closet until I found the box I'd hidden in which contained a pregnancy test. I Then scrambled back into the bathroom where I took the test. As I waited for the results I began to pace, after 5 minutes I looked at the test. Two lines..positive, which means I'm pregnant.
My back hit the wall as I began to sob, this couldn't be happening to me. I can't be pregnant. I rocked back and forth on the floor as I cried. After 30 minutes I realized that I have much bigger problems.
"I have to find Wyatt."
I pulled myself up and finished getting myself ready and headed out the door towards the gate entrance of the forbidden forest.
