10) Visitor of the stars.
Air.
He just needed fresh air. After eighteen straight hours of meetings, one after the other, the young king of Eternia needed only air and time alone.
Luckily one of his archaeologists invited him on a short trip the next day, it would only be a few hours outside the palace, but for Randor it was a relief.
It had been three years since he was crowned king and he still couldn't understand why so many meetings, when in most of them, the reasons were simple to resolve, but he didn't complain. He vowed to protect and lead the planet and would do it proudly, no matter how stressed he was with some nobles.
They were both climbing on a small earth bank when a crash made them look up at the skies.
'' What is this? '' Randor asked.
'' I don't know your majesty, but it's falling. ''
Both saw a ship stop spinning after what appeared to be a major effort to maintain altitude. From the route Randor quickly calculated in his head, the ship would fall several meters west of his current location.
The pilot had to be very good at getting the spacecraft to stop spinning, that Randor knew. Piloting was not easy, and judging by the appearance of the ship, part of the systems must have been damaged, but the pilot managed to land.
The king was the first to arrive, followed by Duncan and a few guards. The man-at-arms tried to get closer first, only for Randor to say that he was the one who would try to talk to the pilot, first to make sure he was okay and then about where he was from.
Deep down the young king knew it was a stupid idea, but at the moment he didn't care.
The ship's door opened and a person staggered out, trying to stand. By physiology, she was a woman and this was confirmed when she took off her helmet, revealing a young redhead with blue eyes. Randor opened his mouth to speak, but closed it as soon as the woman passed out. The next thing Randor knew was that he was next to her checking her pulse with Duncan, who immediately got up and walked over to the guard, no doubt asking to inform the palace infirmary that they would have to help the pilot.
Randor paid no attention to them, no, he was too busy paying attention to the woman in front of him. She was beautiful. He had seen several women in his entire life, but this one had a different beauty. Everything about her screamed that she had something different, but he didn't know what she was. The young king lifted her in his bridal style arms, almost kicking himself for thinking it felt right that she was there.
Before he could exchange two steps, the woman moved in his arms.
'' Shh everything is fine. '' He speaks a little quieter.
'' The meteor ... hit the engines ... the fuel pipes ... '' She started to wander while raising her hand to her head. '' They broke up ... '' Until she opens her eyes, getting a little scared.
Randor can't blame her, she just woke up in a strange place with strangers around and one of them holding her in his arms.
'' Who are you, and where on earth am I? ''
'' I don't know the Earth, but I'm Randor, king of Eternia. ''
He set her down on the floor, gently but firmly holding her arm so she wouldn't fall.
'' Eternia? ''
'' You need rest and medical care, come with me to my palace, you'll be my guest while you recover. You will be comfortable there and in a few days you will be able to return to your planet. ''
'' Thank you, but ... '' She looked around before going back to the ship, which was undoubtedly experiencing a lot of damage, she needed help. Marlena knew that.
And something about him made her feel safe.
'' Ok your majesty. Thanks. My name is Marlena. Lieutenant Marlena Gleen of the United States Air Force, of Earth. '' She smiled and would bow, if it weren't for the fact that her head threatened that she would fall if she did.
'' King Randor Miro, at your service. '' He returned her smile.
Something told them that this would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
