Stay With Me Forever
So please pray or keep us in your thoughts in securing a house this weekend. We had a house and the agent decided to rent it out from under us... I am beyond tired of looking at houses and ready to settle. I'll post Ch 10 and maybe 11 tomorrow. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this new chapter!
Ch 9
"YOU DID WHAT?!"
"I'm only trying to protect you!"
"By sending me over there with her and her new family?!"
"Only until this rogue vampire is gone! He never goes over to Forks so it's best you stay over there where he can't find you!"
"And if he does?! Where will you move me next, Jacob?!"
"Anywhere to keep you alive!"
Jenny plopped herself onto her couch and crossed her arms, pouting, with tear streaks on her cheeks. "Does it have to be with them?"
"They can keep you safe, Jenny..." Jake sat next to her, wiping her face with his hands. "I'm only doing this because... Well.. Because granted it's taken me a while to figure this out, and I'm sure the pull doesn't help... But I love you, Jenny. Please trust me when I say that and that I'm only wanting you safe so we can continue to get to know each other without the pull making us lean toward each other."
Jenny sat there, letting the information sink in. She sighed and nodded her head before looking at him. "I love you too, Jake... I have for years... Just... Promise me you'll see me when you can so I know you're not hurt..."
"I pro-"
A knock to the door interrupted him. He took her hands and looked into her eyes. "I promise, I'll come see you ever day, when I'm not on patrol." Jenny only nodded to have Jake get up and answer the door. "Dr. Carlisle... Jasper..."
"Hello, Jacob..."
Jenny kept her head down as her imprint let the two vampires in.
"Jenny..." Jenny looked up and saw two beautiful men. Both with blonde hair, one darker than the other. Honey golden eyes met with her brown eyes. A calming sensation came over her after her eyes met the long haired blondie.
"This is Dr. Carlisle Cullen... And Jasper Hale..." Jake introduced. Jenny quickly shook her head and wiped her hands on her jeans.
"I'm sorry.. I'm being rude... I'm Jenny Baxter," She said as she got up and held out her hand. Gently Carlisle and Jasper both shook her hand.
"You're not being rude. You're in a slight shock and understandably so... If you allow us, we would love to have you at our home until this... situation is handled," Carlisle said with a gently smile. Jenny let out a shuddering sigh and nodded.
"Okay..." Jenny replied quietly after she went and put on some black fur boots. She looked to Jake who stood behind her. He hugged her from behind and kissed the top of her head.
"Seeing as this rogue has a different sense of smelling, it would be wise for one of us to carry her to the house..." Jasper suggested quietly. Jenny looked to him and his eyes widen in surprise when she lifted her arms up to him. Jake and Carlisle lightly chuckled.
"Take it in stride, cowboy. It's hard for her to trust anyone right now..." Jake said lightly. Jenny turned and glared at him. He threw his hands up in the air. "I'll just... Get some things packed and then I'll be over with her car."
Jenny looked to Jasper. She didn't trust her voice to say anything. Jasper carefully picked her up and swung her onto his back. She held on tight and looked to Jake.
"I'll be there in about thirty minutes, okay?" He asked her. She nodded and buried her head into Jasper's sweater. Wind flew around her for awhile before it finally stopped. She looked up and took in the three story house in front of her. Jasper helped her off his back.
"Welcome to the Cullen home," Carlisle said. Jenny took a deep breath before walking next to Carlisle inside the mansion. Jasper kept a steady wave of calm heading Jenny's way and she was grateful.
Once in the living room, Jasper stopped the flow. Jenny quickly wrapped her arms around herself. A dark brown haired woman came up slowly to her.
"Hello... I'm Esme. Would you like some tea or coffee? It might help with the stress of being out of your element of comfort..." She said gently. Jenny looked at her better. Esme had a motherly look to her. One that Jenny missed in her own mother. She nodded and Esme took her into the kitchen as Carlisle updated the others in the house.
"Could... Could I have some hot chocolate?... If you have any.." Jenny whispered.
"Of course you can! I'll even make you some lunch here in a bit."
Jenny only nodded. She wasn't sure she was ready to meet the other right away. She knew she didn't want to meet HER. But for the sake of her trust in Jake and making sure he wouldn't go to her beck and call... She would meet her.
Esme worked around the kitchen, placing a mug of hot chocolate with whip cream on top in front of the pale girl. Jenny thanked the cooking vampire. She didn't know how Esme knew that she liked whip cream on top of her hot chocolate, but she would take it all the same.
"Jenny?"
Jenny shot up and ran down the stairs to see Jake coming in with a packed bag. Jenny tackled Jake and the bags fell to the floor so he could catch her.
"I take it you missed me?" Jake chuckled out. "It's only been thirty minutes." Only thirty minutes?! What in the world is Esme cooking if it's been thirty minutes? A blur came and went and so did the bags. Jenny stared in shock at Jake as he laughed at her expression.
"Must've been Alice. She likes to... Organize clothes. She'll probably order you a new wardrobe while you're here," He explained.
"Ah... I like new clothes... As long they are not expensive and I can pay her back..." Jenny said quietly. A giggle rang through the house after a loud "YES!" Jenny rolled her eyes with a sigh. "I'm gonna regret that... Aren't I?" Jake only nodded when a male voice cried out, "Oh yes you are!"
Jake escorted Jenny back into the kitchen to have Esme put a chicken and broccoli and rice bake out on the counter. A meal Jenny's mom used to make. Jenny stopped by the kitchen entry way as Jake went to grab a couple of bowls. Tears started.
"What's wrong?" Esme asked gently. Jake turned around and his eyes widened at Jenny.
"My mom... She used to make this when ever I felt down..."
"Oh, sweetheart..."
Esme opened her arms as Jenny walked to her. Jake was surprised when Jenny willingly let Esme comfort her. Esme held Jenny as she cried silently for the memories of her mother.
"I'm sorry... I don't mean to be so.. Moody..." Jenny whispered as Esme handed her a tissue. Jenny didn't question where it came from, she just took it and wiped her face clean with a sigh.
"It's fine, dear. Emotions get to the best of us when we remember something good or bad. If there is any dish, you want me to make or not make, let me know."
Jenny only nodded and sat at the bar in the kitchen as Jake handed her a bowl full of food. Esme looked on as Jenny leaned on Jake while they ate. She liked having a human around. Things were different every day.
She left the kitchen to give the two young adults time to themselves and found Carlisle in his study. Carlisle met her half way, hugging her.
"From the sounds of it... She could really use a mother figure to help her emotionally..."
"Possibly a father figure in the future?"
"I'm sure she'll be ready when she's ready to open up. This is a big move for her until the problem is handled. I'm more worried on how she'll react to Bella coming tomorrow... Granted she didn't handle telling Jacob right out no... Jacob did pine after Bella even after he imprinted."
Esme looked up to Carlisle and kissed his chin.
"I think everything will work out fine. Maybe they can sit down and talk to each other about what really happened and then Jenny and Jacob will have to talk. For now... Let's worry about keeping her safe from this threat. Jacob just got her... It would probably hurt him to lose her after just getting her."
"Agreed, love." Carlisle kissed Esme gently.
Jake and Jenny finished their meal and Jenny washed the cup from the hot chocolate and bowls and forks used from lunch. Jake put them up and put the left overs in the fridge. He then led Jenny into the living room and sat on the couch and had Jenny curl up in his lap. HIs ears and nose told him that a vampire was coming down from the bedrooms and hoped it was anyone except for blondie. He didn't need any sarcastic remarks on having to help save another human life.
"Hey Jake! Up for a game?!"
