Dawn of Injustice: Return of the Mavericks Ch. 17 (Finale pt. 4: To the Edge of Madness)
Disclaimer: This is an indirect sequel to the first Dawn of Injustice Loud Heroes story. It follows the Destruction Ending where the Hatchilings of the Phoenix and the Children of the L-Crew sisters are now looking for clues on how will they be able to bring back the Phoenix King, Lincoln Loud (formerly known as Firecracker). Now they are stuck in a timeless plane of existence that is the nexus of all other worlds created. It is the alpha and omega of the worlds, and the realm works as if it never existed and exists as the same time: The World That Never Did. Some characters may return while some may not.
TLH/TC are owned by Nickelodeon Studios. Loud Heroes is owned by Smoking Wrecker [Epic-Wrecker] and Zachlor16.

-Opening Ends-
Whilst the Primordial Twins are away to ensure balance in all of reality and the Multi-Verse, and to seek out the interloper that is interrupting the upcoming conflict of the Mavericks, the heroes are sent into different corners of the realm. The first to finish their task is Lori's group comprised of Leni, Rori, Roby and the Gemini Twins. They had gained the Seal of the Ephemeral Bypass and granted them strength to battle the overgrowing numbers of manikins, copies of the champions that aimed to destroy anything they touch and steal away the original's identity and purpose. These abominable replicas are growing in size and may change the tides of reality into a halt of the cycle of rebirth, restarting everything from scratch.
-Jotunnheim-
In a frozen desolated wasteland, Lucy and Luke are in battle against a horde of the manikins. Saving any strength wasn't a good option, knowing that in doing so the enemies will take advantage of it and will bring them down. Lucy used her strength to summon Cocytus, from the frozen depths of treachery a frozen fiendish golem. Together with her son, Luke that had activated his Djinn powers of freezing flames and eradicated many of them as they seek out a casket from the center of the frozen tundra. After that battle against the horde, Lucy and Luke had opened the casket and revealed a crystalline figure of a serpent with wings. Once again, in similar fashion, the crystal's power was merged into the heroes that found it. However, after that even, two gateways revealed. One that leads to the fated goal and the other, revealed an entity.
Lucy/Deathfrost: It cannot be!
Luke/Capt. Cool [Djinn - Garufor]: Is that… but there's no way!
Lucy/Deathfrost: Emerson! He's back. But he's injured.
Both mother and son then approached the battered man that once incited the Black Precipice into destroying the world into Pandemonium. When the arctic heroine asked of what is happening and why had the descendant of Tetherby/Cain had returned. The weak man then replied.
Emerson/Empty/Void Dark: The… events… that Logan… had desired has been… *cough* rewritten. The Primordial Twins are restoring the timeline, enabling me to exist once more. But it caused a rift in the realms, creating a cataclysmic on the Threads of Fate. I was forewarned by Tobias Goldstein and Fatima Goldstein.
Lucy/Deathfrost: Cheat and his daughter?
Luke/Capt. Cool: Who?
Lucy/Deathfrost: The Gambler of Destiny, Tobias Goldstein aka Cheat. He had the power over kinetic energy and uses games and cards to win every game of life. When death is near him, he wagered a bet against the Sisters of Fate in exchange that he survive. Every time Azrael [The Grim Reaper/Angel of Death] trying to cut his life, he just keeps cheating it.
Luke/Capt. Cool: Why is that?
Lucy/Deathfrost: He placed a bet against the Sisters and won. The Sisters may had the ability to play the destinies of mankind but they are not omniscient. So Tobias cheated and won the wager. However, he didn't really asked for eternal life from them nor to make his thread unbreakable. He only told them what he want after he'd won.
Luke/Capt. Cool: And that is?
Lucy/Deathfrost: The authority over the threads of fate. Well not completely, but he had the Staff of Fates and absorbed its power over time and destiny. This rendered him immortal and youthful. The Fates still can cut threads but not his own thread. Ever since we rarely ever see him play.
Luke/Capt. Cool: Okay, but where does Fatima come in? How did he had a daughter?
Lucy/Deathfrost: Another wager, another win and you already know where, when, what and how.
Luke/Capt. Cool: The Fates! He didn't… did he?
Lucy/Deathfrost: Yes or at least only one of them did. However, they are one soul in three separate bodies or entities; Past, Present, and Future. The one that did is their leader and main body, the Sister/Fate of Present.
Luke/Capt. Cool: I had no words. How'd you know?
Lucy/Deathfrost: I did my research and investigations. I am not allowed to arrest him since he had been the most helpful but the agency had to watch a close eye upon him if her ever try to betray. But with his carefree attitude and love on playing the game of life, he was hardly a threat to peace so we paid him no mind.
Luke/Capt. Cool: That's a lot to take in. But that's enough stories for now. Let's go and meet the others. They're not gonna like this news.
Lucy/Deathfrost: Agreed. It seemed that messing with fate had made things more complicated.
The two frigid heroes had carried the bruised Emerson towards the portal that will lead them to the fated place.
-Temi's Marketplace-
Temi's Marketplace, a place that is a medieval copy of the World Trade Center, filled with mythical shopkeepers and items that any wanderer can buy in exchange of any spoils they get from defeating the manikins. Medicinal and support items are available for anyone here! However…
Liby/Invisi-Girl: Where are these guys coming from!?
Luan/Mystica: I don't know but these copycats copy-can't get near the place or we'll lose! Not only that but Laney and Leopold are near here. If they get caught in this, they'll be in jeopardy!
Luan creates magical force cannons as Liby traps the enemies with elastic force constructs of gum and ropes. As the enemies are trapped, Luna then fired blasts from her force constructs and repelled the armada of manikins away. Liby then erected a strong barrier to safeguard the marketplace and Luan went to the highest peak of the barrier to cast a powerful force blast to eviscerate the next incoming wave before they could attempt to attack. This leaves Luan a bit exhausted but recovered back to the ground. AS reward of their efforts, the mythical shopkeepers [just base it on FF/KH Moogles] granted them a potion to rejuvenate Luan from exhaustion and their treasure, a crystal Orb.
Liby/Invisi-Girl: Are you sure we can have this?
The shopkeepers nods and the Orb resonated with the mother and daughter, along with Lily. Lily is still outside, dealing with other incoming attackers with her plants and trees. When a portal opens, they gang then left the place to finally meet up with the others. Meanwhile, a malevolent figure is at watch of the place.
?: So these abomination failed to even deliver me those wretched heroes. No matter, we are still fated to fight soon.
-Planet's Core-
Within a place that is called Planet's Core, Sam and her family are floating around whilst fighting a horde of the manikins. Lina is taking much damage as she fights while Eclipse [in his SHAZAM! Form] is firing bolts of lightning at his pursuers. Thanks to Sam's Meta-Genes, she is a bionic woman capable of turning her body into a living weapon of technology. Even after using a suppressor, a prototype to Meta-Gene cure, she was able to re-unlock her powers and use it proficiently. She uses her cannons to blast away many foes while she hover onto the air. The Planet's Core is an endless abyss with floating terrains and minimal gravity, a perfect place for flying.
Eclipse Sharp-Loud/Turbo Thunder: Bararaq Inqerad Saiqa! (Lightning Flash Extinction Sword of the Heavenly Realm).
With that spell, Eclipse uses his full power to summon a giant sword from above and smite his pursuers with electrifying might. Now that he's free from enemies, he was given a moment's respite. Lina on the other hand is still taking much wounds, yet she isn't giving up. Up above, she then conjure her power and all the pain of her damages are immediately patched as her body heat increases in an alarming rate. Her aura then splits and created an energy ball of pure blue hellfire.
Lina Sharp-Loud/Star Hanabi: I'll return your pain in hundred… no, a THOUSANDFOLD! Pain Packer - Hellish Sun Adolla!
Her bluish flames then expanded into a miniature blue Sun. The flames incinerated her foes along with the structures that surrounds her. Since the place is vast enough, she gave an area where her mother and brother-figure could rest. Sam knew that she can't take on the explosive heat of the Sun, much more that are made in hellfire. Even if Eclipse is blessed by the angels with such power and permanence, he too needs to flee since the unholy flames can still damage him. Lina stood beneath the blue Sun as she sees her enemies marching towards their doom unknowingly. Sam create a solar panel to shield her from minimal heat from faraway. Once the blue Sun had incinerated the enemies and shrunk down into nothing, Eclipse and Sam lowered their guard and rushed towards Lina. The power she used exhausted most of her stamina and she still need recovery after that her bruises. Thankfully, they've cleared the area and received a polyhedron that contains the core's power. The power merged with them just like the one's before and the area began to pull them to a wormhole that teleported them out of the place. Eclipse still carried his adoptive sister to make sure they get out in one piece.
-Land of Midas-
In a land filled and colored in gold and prism of treasures, The Land of Midas is where Lynn, Revy, Hunter, Lana, Lola, Leia, and the Agni Kai girls had landed. Whilst Lola and Leia are busy taking loots from the land and the Agni Kai girls are taking lost ancient weapons; Lynn, Revy and Lana are looking for a way out of the dungeon of gold and jewels. Hunter accidentally activated a trap which opened a rift and summoned forth manikins. However, those enemies didn't attack and lacked the energy to battle. There's also a counter that defines the number of enemies to defeat in order for a warp gate to activate and get the goal.
Revy/Parkour Jr: Weird. The enemies aren't attacking but they aren't seemed to be breakable either.
Lynn/Power Girl: It's as if they are just plain statues. And we're trapped here unless we defeat enough of them.
Hunter apologizes about the trap while his mother paid no mind and just kept on searching for a path. However, she started to get infuriated when Lola started basking and lavishing with her daughter with the treasures they found. She approaches Lola and gave her a scolding, to which Lola retaliates. They started bickering and shouting, which somehow gave life to the manikins that are within the premises. One of the enemies then attacked Hunter, but misses thanks to Leia shoving along him away from the incoming attack.
Lynn/Power Girl: Are you guys okay?
Hunter/Mr. Beast: I think so.
Revy/Parkour Jr: Wait, I got it! Mom, fight me!
Lynn then shrugged and just did what her daughter asked. They fought and suddenly the manikins started to be animated and mobilizing. Lynn then ordered her younger sisters to start attacking the incoming enemies.
Lynn/Power Girl: I can't believe it worked.
Revy/Parkour Jr: The bait works. They are attracted to the energy we make when we fight!
Lynn and Revi are fighting Lana and Lola while currently being surrounded by some manikins. Then they turn from fighting into teaming up with each other to stop the threats. Lana transforms into a Phoenix and with her blazing feathers, heals the others while burning away the group of enemies. Hunter then becomes a Leviathan and used a spray of pressured water to wash away a number of foes. Leia rides on Hunter and fires beams of crystallization energy that stops multiple enemies. When they've reach the specified amount of enemies, an altar containing a gold coin imbued with esoteric energy then appeared. The rest of the treasures then turned into golden dust much to Lola's disappointment but at least the weapons they've carried remained. The gold coin dissipates but the power merged with the heroes within the premises. The group then made their way to the exit.
-Valhalla of Aesirs-
Lisa/Omniscience: The Valhalla of Aesirs. The resting place of sub-primordial entities. This is where the Asgardian and other entities went when their Sanctum are locked up and never to be access unless it is restored.
Carol/Cybergirl: Are you sure this will work?
Lisa/Omniscience: Trust me… It will… With the Apple with me, it will work. The Five Aeons, Brunhilde of Flames, Odin of Steel/Thunders, Alexander of Wall, Shiva of Seas/Frosts, Gaia of Nature. We need you!
The so-called Aeons then appeared in front of Lisa and her group. It was a sight to behold!
Odin on his mighty steed, Brunhilde and her fiery weapon, Alexander and his mighty fortress, the beautiful sea twins Shiva, Gaia and her blossoming green hair.
Odin: I am the Allfather of Asgard, Odin of the Steel Tempest. Who dares summon us!?
Lisa/Omniscience: I had summoned thee!
Brunhilde: I am the daughter of flames and mother of metalworker. How odd that a mere mortal had summoned us and not feel fazed.
Lisa/Omniscience: You can thank this relic for that. [Shows the Apple]
Gaia: The Seed of the Forbidden Apple, a fragment turned into relic. I see, so that is why. I once was the mother of the greens and nature. When I was created along the Earth, my spirit lingered until my work is done. Tell me mortal, what has become of the world that I had entrusted to mankind? Is my Creator still maintaining it? Is He still battling the threats.
Lisa/Omniscience: What had become of the world is both progress yet desolation. We as heroes are tasked to keep it safe and balanced but chaos and crisis came. And about your Creator, He is still keeping watch of the world but entrusted humans to lead them.
Shiva [Flow]: My what a sight to behold. Men had truly changed since our disappearance.
Shiva [Frost]: Agreed sister, I wonder if we can return and see how progressive the world has become. Are humans truly evolved and changed? Or are there still lingering remnants of the former world?
Carol/Cyber-Girl: I hope we're not here to just chitchat.
Odin: Hmm, what tomfoolery does this little one want? And what has become of my Asgard? Is my son ruling it?
Lisa/Omniscience: I will speak no lie that Asgard may had fall to ruin. Your son Thor is out of commission and nowhere to be found. Mephisto- or rather Loki is trapped within the Netherworld. And Cocytus, rather Laufaey is now a servant of my sister, Lucille.
Odin: I appreciate the honesty, little brilliance. Truly a lot has changed since I was gone.
Lisa/Omniscience: And we need further assistance to escape this place. There's a conflict that is about to come and we'd rather stay alive to tell the tale.
Alexander: What!? I mere mortal demanding from us Eidolons! Is this a jest!? Surely no mere human can even comprehend what capabilities we can do. Your feebleness will end you here. And we take no command from an inferior race.
Odin: Calm, Alexander! Never forget that this mortal had resisted the power of the Apple and much more traveled long to reach this place. And if thou asketh, we Aesirs had longed replaced that title now since we vanished. Our race's true identity is Eidolons or Aeons. As for your demand, we will gladly lend our power. However, we cannot come. We are cursed to stay here for all of eternity. What little we can do is grant you this.
Odin then gave a rose-quarts crystalline to Lisa. The crystal dissipates and soon, its power flowed through the group.
Odin: The Strength and Mind of the Eidolons will now flow through your veins. It will work best until you finally managed to flee from this place. Once that happened and you have gained victory, our power will return to us. That is all we can offer.
Solomon/Dr. Brainiac: He is correct everyone. I can feel their knowledge flowing through me.
Jor-El/Blazeboy: Such power. Is this like father's?
Carol/Cyber-Girl: Well thank you but what's the catch? Is there a condition?
Gaia: There is none except to live and tell the tale. Maybe there are still mortals out there that remembers us. That is enough for us, a hope to be remembered. And maybe one day, we can meet again.
Lisa/Omniscience: I will not forget the gratitude we owe you. Someday, even if it takes for me to the afterlife, I will remember this in hope that someday we can repay in full or more.
Odin: By taking that in consideration, you've already had. Now go forth and live long. I feel a presence approaching.
Lisa and her group soon exits the vicinity. The gate opened and soon sent them to the other side. From there, she is met with the others who have finished their task. All that is left now is the final area where Logan, Lita and Lyle/Toby are yet to be finished. The final place before reaching The Rift, where madness and chaos mostly reign on the region. This is located at the opposite of the escape route: Order's Sanctuary

AN: Wow, this took days to finish. I'm ashamed that I'm slowing down rather than getting more motivated. Then again, sometimes haste makes waste. Getting to caught up was a bad idea. Anyways, this is nearing the end. Probably three or four more chapters until it's over. Why wasn't Lisa surprised on meeting the Eidolons? Well, with the Apple at her hand and knowing magic, arcane/esoteric, and myths, mysticism exists since her childhood days as Prodigy… it doesn't faze her anymore. In fact, she was counting on it.
The Original Eidolons were meant to be Odin, Brunhilde, Alexander, Bahamut, Hecatoncheires, and the Shiva twins but I changed some of them. They are mostly based of Final Fantasy XIII while Gaia was based on Tefiti from Moana.
Some characters belongs to a fellow DeviantArtist NBWatts and Ben10Man/JakeVoronkov. Very good friends of mine.
