Face the past.

Hello there everyone here it is the new chapter sorry for the long wait. But before we start the story I just want to say this is done in memory of the great and awesome the legedary Kirby Morrow voice of Trowa who has sadly passed away on November 18, 2020. So this chapter is in his honor.

Night had fallen.

Dead was on the balcony looking out to the sea, He wondered what was going to happen. He had a feeling something was about to start and it would not be good. His thoughts were interrupted by a pair of arms wrapping around him. He looked to see Cagalli holding on to him.

''Come back to bed Dead.'' Said Cagalli in a playful tone.

Dead Just turned around to hug Cagalli back. "Let's go back to bed." Said Dead as Caggali nodded as Dead picked her up Bridal style and they returned to bed.

Meanwhile.

Trowa arrived to offer some extra back up for Heero and Dup guarding Lacus. Heero, Duo, and Trowa were staying in their Gundams as Kira and the others slept in the mansion.

"Glad you arrived Trowa, now I got someone to talk to besides MR Happy here." Joked Duo.

"One more joke and I am going to kill you." Said Heero.

"Calm down Heero, just concentrate on the mission." Said Trowa.

As they talked a little some people in wet suits made their way towards to house in the water.

Meanwhile

Kortax was looking over his son after he finished some more training proud of the powerful fighter he was becoming. He returned to his chambers as Durandal contacted him on a monitor.

"What is it?" Asked Kortax.

"Sir we are about to begin our mission to assassinate Lacus but..." Began Durandal as Kortax shot him an irritated look. "Just what?"

"Well a few of the Gundam's are there and I fear our forces may not be enough." Said Durandal as Kortax slammed his fist down. "Must I do everything for you? Fine I shall send some more troops." Said Kortax.

The gundams sensed the people in wetsuits as they arrived and were about to do something when portals opened up and out came several mobile dolls and out of the water came several UMF/SSO-3 ASH a type of ZAFT mobile suit they got info on by stealing from ZAFT thus knew Durandal was behind this.

"Mission accepted." Said Heero as he aimed and fired his Buster rifle destroying many suits.

"Time to play." Said Duo as he sliced several enemy units.

"Trowa some are heading for the Mansion .'' Said Heero as he sliced a few mobile dolls with Wing zero's beam saber. As Trowa saw 10 mobile dolls heading for the Archangel.

"That what they think.'' Said Trowa as he unleashed a barrage of missiles scrapping them all.

Heero imp[ailed several mobile dolls with his beam saber.

"Mobile doll shish kabob ala beam saber.'' Said Duo seeing what Wufei did as he swung Deathcythes beam scythe around deflecting some laser fire from some mobile dolls before slicing them in half.

Mobile dolls and Ash's all opened fire on the Gundams as they dodged.

"This is a ridiculous amount of Laser.'' Said Duo as more Mobile dolls showed up and fired. Trying to box them in.

"They are trying to box us in.'' Said Trowa.

"Trowa is right, rush forward and tear through them.'' Said Heero as they did just that slashing and blasting Mobile dolls while dodging laser fire.

"This is a fight yes sir.'' Said Duo enjoying himself as he took out some more mobile dolls. And a couple of Ash's

"You ain't kidding." Said Trowa as he shot some Ash's

"Talk later fight now." Said Heero as he destroyed a Ash then fired on several mobile dolls with Wing Zero's shoulder-mounted machine guns.

The noise outside woke Kira and the others up. Lacus and the children headed for the underground shelter. While Marrue and Waltfeld.

"I need to go help." Said Kira as he headed for the Freedom after making sure Lacus was OK.

Back with the Gundams.

They were still fighting hard.

"This just keeps getting worse.'' Said Heero as he blocked some of it with Zero's shield. As the others got behind to get some cover. Just as they did some doors near the mansion opened up and out flew the Freedom.

"Well look who decided to finally join." Said Duo as he killed some ZAFT Soldiers.

"Kira watch yourself." Said Heero killing some more ZAFT troops, as he did Kira dodged enemy fire from the Ash's before swiftly disabling them without killing anyone. But to his shock they all self-destructed.

"That is why it's best to kill them." Said Duo.

''Guess they thought we might interrogate them.'' Said Trowa as he finished off the last mobile dolls. But as they did another portal opened up and out came the Mercurius and Vayeate and some more Mobile dolls.

Seeing the Mercurius caused Kira to start to tremble remembering the past fights, and how he almost died, and how powerless he was.

"Kira snap out of it." Came Heero's voice as Kira same to and saw Wing Zero hand him a beam saber.

"Here my beam saber will help you more.'' Said Heero as Kira nodded and took it and went to face the Mercurius, while Trowa went to fight the Vayeate.

Kira charged at the Mercurius both with beam sabers ready, the 2 clashed both trying to push the other back. Kira was pushing the Freedom hard, but the Mercurius was able to push him back.

''Damn it.'' Saaid Kira.

"Kira focus it's coming at you.'' Came Trowa's voice as Kira saw the Mercurius come at him with an elbow to the torso knocking him down. Then started to stomp on the Freedoms chest. Sparks start to shoot in the cockpit.

"Now I won't let it happen, not again.'' Said Kira as the Freedom grabbed the Mercurius foot and pushed it off sending it to the ground before the Freedom got back to its feet and tried to shoot the Mercurius with its rifle only for the Mercurius to shoot it from the trikes hands before getting up.

Meanwhile, Trowa was dodging laser fire from the Vayeate.

''This ends here.'' Said Trowa as he brought out Heavyarms kai's blades and spun real fast in the Vayeate's direction as it opened fire but Heavyarms Kai activated its phase shift armor and with that and the speed it slashed right through the beam and then through the Vayeate destroying it,

Trowa let out a sigh as he saw Heero destroy the rest of the Mobile dolls. ''That's that taken care of.'' Said Trowa and he and Heero looked to see Kira fighting the Mercurius.

''Hang on Kira we are coming.'' Said Trowa.

"NO, I need to do this alone." Said Kira as they stopped. "For 2 years this monster plagued my nightmares, I can't keep having others fight my battles for me or save me each time. Otherwise, I'll be no different than that kid who cried all the time, I need to do this."

"Are you crazy?" Asked Duo. "Have you forgotten how things went before with that thing."

"Let him have this." Came Dead's voice.

"Dead is that you?" Asked Kira who then saw Epyon arrive. "I was contacted by the others and asked by Cagalli to come help. But seems I was not in time tho to aid you." Said Dead as he watched the Freedom and the Mercurius fight.

"If this is truly what you desire Kira, then by all means do it. Fight like a true Gundam." Said Dead.

"Dead, thank you." Said Kira as he blocked an attack from the Mercurius beam saber before getting some distance.

"I need to end this." Said Kira as he aimed and fired the Freedoms lasers at the Mercurius only for it to activate its force field thus negating the attack. "Damn." Cursed Kira as the Mercurius charged again at the Freedom Barley missing it as Kira hit the thrusters to escape the strike, but as he did the Mercurius grabbed the Freedom by the leg and threw it down. Only for Kira to counter with a kick to the chest and getting back up. He spotted the rifle he lost earlier and made a grab for it and fired just as the Mercurius fired its own gun and both shot the others gun from their hands. During the moment of confusion, Kira delivered a punch to the Mercurius who responded with one back then a knee that the Freedom blocked as both then tried to punch the other again each hitting the other in the face. Both suits struggling to stay up.

''Need to end this before the Freedom runs out of power.'' Said Kira who saw the Freedom's energy was dropping fast. While the Mercurius still looked ready to go as it attacked with its beam saber as the Freedom blocked with its own. And started to try and push the other back, the Mercurius was proving to be stronger and started to push the Freedom back activating it's thrusters for an extra boost.

"NO, I WON'T LET IT END HERE, NOT LIKE THIS." Yelled Kira as he started to push the Freedom harder as it started to push back, "I'm not afraid of you anymore, you can't hurt me anymore. AND I WON'T LOSE TO YOU ANYMORE." Yelled Kira as he managed to push the Mercurius and slice it's left arm off along with its shield and thus it's beam saber.

"IT ENDS HERE AND NOW." Yelled Kira as he put most of the Freedom's power into its lasers and fired as the Mercurius activated it's force field again and blocked it. But as the lasers faded and the force field fell. The Freedom charged forward beam saber in hand and sliced the Mercurius in half. As the remain hit the ground the Mercurius exploded as the Freedom's power ran out and the phase shift ended and the machine started to cool down.

"Well done Kira." Said Dead.

"Will admit that was impressive." Said Heero.

"Praise from you? That's rare." Said Duo with a cheesy grin.

"Don't make me kill you.'' Said Heero.

"Some things never change." Said Trowa as they saw more portals open up and knew what was coming.
"Heero, Trowa aim at the portals and fire." Ordered Dead as he aimed his buster rifle and fire. Heero did the same with him as Trowa aimed and fired all of Heavyarms kai's missiles and lasers at the portals going in as some mobile dolls started to come out and destroyed what was on the other side. The portals closed as explosions came from them.

With Kortax.

"Damn it." Yelled Kortax as he slammed his fist o the table.

"My lord it is not too late to try again." Said Durandal as Kortax shot him an irritated look.

"You fool, if you had said the Gundam's would be there sooner I could have repaired a larger force." Yelled Kortax as Durandal realized he should have done that. "But now thanks to you many of my mobile doll manufacturing plants suffered heavy damage and I can not risk more." Stated Kortax as he stood up. " And now the Gundams will be on guard."

"I am sorry my lord." Said Durandal as Kortax looked at him. "Not yet your not." Said Kortax as he narrowed his eyes and Durandal started to gasp for air. "Don't worry I won't kill you but you will suffer for this." Said Kortax as he continued to torture Durandal.

Back with the Gundams.

All 4 of them exited their suits.

"A good battle Kira." Said Heero.

"Thanks, I was not sure I could do it, but now I feel I can sleep soundly from now on.'' Said Kira.

"Facing the past and your demons is never easy, but I am proud you were able to do so." Said Trowa.

"Thanks, Trowa. But I still wonder what if I was not able to win."

"Then we would have stepped in." Said Dead.

"Becasue we are Gundam pilots.'' Said Heero.

"And we never abandon our own.'' Said Trowa.

Kira was truly touched by their words like they finally accepted him as one of them.

''Now let's go check on the others.'' Said Trowa as they all went to see how they were doing. And plan their next move.

Later

Dead returned to the room he shared with Cagalli and found it-empty, till he felt someone tackle him to the bed. He looked up to see Cagalli smiling at him as she leaned in and kissed him. He kissed Back.

"Your back." Said Cagalli as she snuggled up to him.

"I will always come back." Said Dead as he held her.

"Were you able to get there in time?" Asked Cagalli hoping everyone was OK.

"Everyone is fine. And I promise it will stay that way." Said Dead as Cagalli smiled and kissed him again as he kissed back and they both removed their cloaths and made love again.

And there you have it, Sorry know it's not that long but was really depressed about Kirby Morrow's death still am. That is why I decided to Add Trowa to this chapter and tried to give him as many lines as I could. This chapter was in loving memory of Kirby Morrow who passed away at age 47 November 18 2020. Tho he is gone he will be remembered and missed for all time. Rest In Peace Kirby Morrow May you be well.
