Hey! It's been a while as usual. Hope you've been well

Will opens the door of his bedroom blearily with one hand and runs the towel over his wet hair with the other.

He swears he sees Nico when he looks up but that can't be true. It's cliché, but he rubs his eyes before looking up again.

He's still there, standing next to Will's bed. He's rubbing his arm awkwardly and staring at the ground.

Will opens his mouth to speak, then closes it again once he realises he doesn't know what to say.

The spectre continues to gaze wordlessly at the floor.

"N- Nico?"

The ghost looks up, his face full of an expression Will can't quite place. Sorrow? Guilt?

Then he vanishes again.

Will could almost cry with frustration. Nico shows up out of nowhere and before he can even process it he's gone again? He feels like a toddler but it's just not fair.

It had been so good to see him, to know that he was okay. And then that feeling of joy was snatched from him as soon as it arrived.

He's grabbing a bag before he even knows what he's doing.

Feeling displaced, Will snatches his phone from his bedside table and calls Lee.

" 'Lo?" He answers sleepily.

"Sorry, I know it's late. I just..." Will pauses to drag a hand over his face, "can I crash at your place for a bit?"

Lee doesn't ask any questions or point out how late it is. Will thanks the universe for giving him the friends he has.

"Of course man, you're always welcome."

Will sincerely hopes a break will clear his head.

"Thanks Lee, really."

By the time Will is in Lee's apartment, there's a spare blanket and pillow on the couch.

They stay up for a bit, talking and laughing, and then Will falls into his bed on the sofa. His chest feels full of warmth and he falls into an easy sleep.
