Chapter: 10: Love and Hate

note: another longer one. I am so inspired! Today will introduce a new member to the pack: Jack, Rami's son. (He was told to run away so he wouldn't be hunted by yiga clan hunters) Enjoy!*

Jay's POV*

The bracelet looked beautiful on her.

"I love you, Rami." I say.

"I know. And I love you too."

I decided that I would teach Rami how to use a bow and arrow. She struggled at first but she eventually got the hang of it.

She was so happy when she hit her first target! It makes me happy to see her happy.

After, we decided to move on from shooting octo-balloons to actually hunting. She loves hunting. I'm not surprised. She is a wolf at heart. I love her.

When we were hunting, we found a lost wolf pup. It wasn't scared of me or Rami. In fact, it seemed happy we were there. When Rami saw the pup, she ran over to it and hugged it.

It called her 'mom' and I realized that it was her son. She had said that the pup's name was Jack.

"Nice to meet you, Jack."

"Hello!" Jack said.

When I sat down in front of him, he walked over to me and curled up into a ball and slept. He smells like roses and lilies. And like Rami. We decided that we would bring him back to the house.

When we got back to the village, Jack got up and climbed to my shoulder. He is so cute. I think as he licks my cheek.

"Thanks for carrying me, Alpha!" He barks.

I pet him as if to say 'your welcome.'

He sneezes. It's adorable.

He then starts to wag his soft, white-tipped tail. He is a gray pup, with black patterns resembling Rami's. His tail is gray, with black running along the sides and bottom. The tip is white.

We go to the general store, and when we go in we hear the shopkeeper's voice.

"No animals allowed!"

Well at least he doesn't know that Rami is a wolf. Otherwise she would have to sit outside as well.

"I'll sit with him outside next to the door." Rami says to the shopkeeper. "That way he won't get lonely."

Surprised that she would do that, I nod. "And so he won't wander off!" I say, joking.

Rami picks him off of my shoulder, and he climbs up to her's. He licks her.

I grab twenty arrows to restock my supply, three glasses of milk, some hearty truffles, and some endura shrooms.

"Seventy five rupees please."

"Ok."

After I pay, we leave and the three of us go home.

Rami's POV*

People say that happiness is hard to get in times of hardship. I say that it's that hardship that makes us forget the good things in life.

Jay told me that he used to think that malice was evil. Now he sees past it's acidic properties and sees that it heals. Malice is what healed my leg. Without malice I would be dead.

Jay says that as long as I am happy, he's happy. That if I need anything, to ask him and he will stop at nothing to get it. He asked if I wanted anything.

I told him I have everything a wolf could want and more. I have my son once more, I have Jay, who has devoted himself to protecting those he cares about. He is my frie- no- he is my partner. I love him. I am happy he loves my son. I have a pack that respects me again. I have powers that can wake people who are comatose.

So no. I don't think I need anything for now.

Midna's POV*

So that's where they went! When I get hands on that Jay I will kill him!

I fly to Princess Zelda's study. The room has been turned into Jay's bedroom.

They're gone.

I use my shadow magic to bring me to the twilight realm. The twilight realm has different laws of physics, so here I can travel back in time. I go to the light realm and I notice that I traveled too far back. Ten years back in fact. I see the castle enshrouded in malice. I came out of the portal around hateno village. As I fly I see Jay, Rami, and a little wolf pup.

Mind controlled. I fly down in front of him. He looks at me with hatred burning in his eyes.

"You." He says. "You came all this way, only to pay for trying to hurt my pack."

"Shut the hell up, asshole!" I yell.

"Careful with your words, Midna! There are kids around!" He says sarcastically.

"Trying to outdo me in sarcasm I see?" I say sarcastically.

"Let's take this somewhere more…… suitable for me to fight you." He snaps fingers.

I find myself on a giant flying platform of sheikah tech. It's been corrupted by his malice. He has home turf advantage.

I bring out the fused shadow.

"Your line ends here Midna! I will slay you with the help of Ghirahim!"

He lifts hands and takes off his cloak. He throws it to the ground. He then forms malice armor.

If I touch his armor, I will lose.

"Ghirahim, blade form!"

A sword appears in his hand.

I activate the fused shadow.

Jay's POV*

"That relic is useless!" I say.

I must slay her to keep my pack safe.

Free-roaming camera POV*

Relentless, Midna attacks again and again. Jay's movements are too swift for her to handle. Every attack was dogged with ease and Jay creates openings every time, slicing arms off left and right.

She turns back into an imp, after losing all her limbs.

She continues her assault on him.

Jay knows her weakness. Her hair is her weapon, but also her weakness.

He begins cutting strands of hair off every time.

She gets angrier with each exchange.

'Another weakness' Jay thought.

She now had no hair left to spare.

She had one last chance.

She shifted out of her imp form.

BOOM!...

Jay had expected her to shift.

So he got out his bow.

Notched a bomb arrow.

She fell from the sky.

Jay used his magic to catch her.

He then put her in restraints, made from solid malice.

Able to block shadow magic. He had crafted them after studying the shadow crystal.

He brought her out of the illusionary realm. Back at the house he kept her trapped. He would corrupt her soon. He would keep her mind controlled. But he needed her awake to do this. He had killed her. The Queen of the Twilight Realm is dead.

He had single-handedly caused the twilight realm to descend to anarchy. He reveled in that thought. It almost made him want to go there to give the good news himself.

Almost.

He placed her in a wooden chair and restrained her.

She would wake up soon.
